This was not what I was expecting but in a good way. A great, face paced book that I would highly recommend to anyone that loves a mystery book

Omg talk about a roller coaster read wow this book kept me on the edge of my seat threw out I just couldn't put it down this writer keeps you hooked and once your hooked your not letting go I found this book thrilling the characters were fantastic and well thought out and the little clues all the way threw keep you guessing until the end this book stays with you long after you close the book this book is well worth the read I promise you wont be disappointed

As much as I love this Author, this book was a difficult book for me to read because of the subject matter. Since having children myself, I find this genre an uncomfortable read, so I did not finish it.

One perfect lie is a good book that I enjoyed reading and the primases of the book kept me guessing.

What a fascinating book. I was impressed by the storyline and the characters were all well written and complex. Where there are complex storylines combined with intriguing characters the reader experience is magnified tremendously. To have a book that is well written as well as entertaining is a delight. Reading is about escaping your world and entering another one. The word building was phenomenal in this book. Here I forgot about my own life and was immersed in the world created by the author. I would recommend this book.

I really enjoy most of Lisa Scottoline's books and this one was no different. Really twisty and unputdownable. I enjoyed every page and can't wait for the next book!

Chris Brennan applies for a teaching job in a small town in Pennsylvania. He is not who he seems and soon manages to insert himself into the community. He becomes a well liked and trusted teacher and coach. Something is going on in this little town. There are problems with teenagers and their families, could they be leading to something incredibly dangerous?

This was a fast paced story and an easy read. There were a lot of characters in the book but the author did a good job of developing them and explaining their connections. Another great read by Scottoline. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.

Ms Scottoline is a fairly new author to me having came across her through Netgalley. I'm afraid this one wasn't for me, I was expecting something more, what I don't know.. Apologies to Ms Scottoline for not enjoing this read but it won't be my last

Absolutely fabulous book by Lisa Scottoline. She is a fantastic author, who is always reliable and brilliant. Cannot recommend it highly enough.

This was my first Lisa Scottoline book and I had no idea what to expect. At first, I wasn’t sure I would finish the book because of what I thought was happening and where I thought the plot was going. I have to say I’m glad I stuck with it and I’m also glad I was wrong. I plan to read at least one more book by this author before I pass judgment on her writing style but the story itself was B+.

On paper, Chris Brennan looks perfect. He's applying for a job as a high school government teacher, he's ready to step in as an assistant baseball coach, and his references are impeccable.
But everything about Chris Brennan is a lie.
Susan Sematov is proud of her son Raz, a high school pitcher so athletically talented that he's being recruited for a full-ride scholarship to a Division I college, with a future in major-league baseball. But Raz’s father died only a few months ago, leaving her son in a vulnerable place where any new father figure might influence him for good, or evil.

I had actually forgotten about this book - it was such a far cry from Scottoline's usually fare that I really had a hard time believing it was written by the same person...

A few big issues here for me: firstly, the plot didn't really get going until about the halfway mark - and by the time you really get into it, you really have no choice to sense where the book is heading and what the conclusion is going to be. Also, the characters weren't really fleshed out, not very original. I didn't really find anything in them to connect with, so that was a massive disappointment.

So, why the 3 stars? Well, as the rating suggests - it was "okay". I wasn't badly written, it wasn't the worst thing you have ever read...but it did nothing to stand out, especially as a stand alone novel for an author with a huge following. This should have been better.

This is only a brief review as I don't want to give anything away. There are plenty of twists that caught me by surprise adding to the pure enjoyment of reading this book so I wouldn't want to take that away from anyone.
I will say that I loved this book it is a book that is extremely high up on my list of books I recommend to family and friends.
It is also going to make a great Christmas present for my step-dad!
This is the first book I have read from this author and from enjoying this one so much I will look forward to reading more of her work.

One Perfect Lie is place in a small town in Pennsylvania. (Give me a small community thriller anyday!) Good looking and, it seems, tailor made stranger Chris Brennan comes to town with a false identity, resume and life. Three different families lives are entangled with the baseball team of which Chris is applying to coach, and also mixed up with Chris himself.

What is the 'end game' with Chris? What are his secrets? His lies? and how far will he go to get what he wants?

If you are looking for a twisty, turny rollercoaster....pick up One Perfect Lie! It is one perfect thrill!

Really enjoyed this novel. It had a very unusual plot line and initially I thought I was reading about a terrorist plot. It almost read like a screenplay for a movie. Very good read

Not what I expected.... at all. I had my mind made up in the first few chapters and then Scottoline pulled a fast one on me. PLOT TWIST!!!!!!! Holy cow! From there, we were taken on this crazy ride that kept you on your toes until the final pages. I’ve read Scottoline before, but this is a new favorite of mine.

A fast-paced & very readable story with plenty of twists & turns. Highly recommended as a nice lightweight beach read.

This is a tough review for me. For the most part, I love Lisa Scottoline’s books. But every once in a while, I don’t care for one. And this was one of the ones I didn’t like much. This book really just bored me and I am finding it difficult to explain why this one didn’t really work for me. I am a little surprised at how high the book has been rated, clearly other people must have appreciate something I didn’t.

I actually liked the direction that the book initially seemed to be going in more than how it developed from there, after the twist. I did like the individual stories of each boy’s family, found that part interesting but there wasn’t enough of it. I felt like I was just getting into knowing them and their story and then the story jumped somewhere else. I was missing the flow of the story and some parts just didn’t seem like they belonged.
I didn’t feel the suspense of wondering which boy was involved. I definitely was not engaged in the story. The dialogue I found to be not realistic and sometimes just ridiculous. The characters I didn’t find very likeable, found many of them shallow and I couldn’t relate to them.

So as much as it pains me, I am going to give this one a 2 1/2 but by no means am I giving up on Lisa Scottoline. She has written some fascinating and much loved books; for me this just isn’t one of them.

Lisa Scottoline rarely disappoints. Her novels are often thought provoking and riveting. One Perfect Lie was all of that and so much more.

Small town sports and the families that live, breath and eat them. Those of us who have been unfortunate to experience it know how it goes. Those who have the right name get the good spots and those who work had have to work twice as hard to even get a chance. This is the first story that I have read that has an accurate account of what that life is like.

The other part is what is going on behind the closed doors. Each family has a secret that will become exposed in one form or another. Whether they meant for the events that get set in motion or not, the repercussions could be explosive.

An engaging and thought provoking story. You won't want to put it down.
