A great addition to the American Extreme Bull Riders Tour series of book. I think this was my favorite so far. I loved the age difference between Troy and Joss. It was a great change to have the guy in the relationship want to be a couple first. It was lighthearted and very entertaining. At one point I teared up there was a very sweet part of the story where Joss, her father in law and her son were talking.
Beautifully written, I couldn't put it d own once I started reading it. I definitely recommend this series if you like cowboys and romance.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Net Galley and Tule Publishing.
Save a Horse Ride a Cowboy! "Sweet Baby Cheeses" one of my new Favorite sayings, I loved this story and it's crazy, sweet and loving characters. It's fun loving, sexy, and seductive but most of the time it's romance with a heart.
Troy Jensen is "The Wonder From Down Under", a famous Bull Rider in the Bull Riding Circuits who had been ranked in the top 10 for the last five years and one big, young, sexy Australian cowboy. After meeting Jocelyn "Joss" Garity on the dark, back roads of Texas, he is taken by this strong, beautiful woman.
Joss Garity at 34 years of age, has not been having a very good five years, with a dead husband, a teenage son who hated her, huge student loan debt and almost astronomical orthodontic bills, sleep deprivation from working her emergency room shift as a doctor and to add to it a flat tire on the back roads at midnight. But when a tall, muscular, cowboy offers her his help and flirts with her, maybe her luck, just might be changing.
When these two cross paths again and again, is this fate throwing them together? When Troy is hurt and is unable to move on for a few weeks Joss's father in law invites him to stay on their property. Troy uses their crazy and unfathomable, wholly undeniable chemistry, as well as seduction, to pursue and to entice Joss, to give into temptation. And bad had never felt this damn good before for both of them. But when it's time to hit the rodeo circuits again will he be able to move on or will his feelings for Joss be all that he needs to settle down?
This story had my swooning big time. It definitely got me hot, bothered, and stirred up, with laugh out loud moments and all the feels in this fantastic romance. This pulled me in from the beginning and rode away with my heart!

4 1/2 Star Review.....
The American Extreme Bull Riders Tour series just keep getting belter and better!
TROY is Amy Andrews contribution this this popular series, and her character development and overall story-telling grab the reader from the very beginning and hold your attention till the last page is read.
A wonderful story packed with soulful emotion and justified trepidation, Troy is sure to capture your heart and hold it tight.
3 - "Sweet baby cheeses." Stars.
Amy Andrews takes up the mantle for book five in the American Extreme Bull Riders Tour with Troy Jensen being the recipient of his very own happy every after!
"Might as well go all the way."
I am usually a huge fan of Amy’s writing, her down-to-earth characters and the stories she gives them are generally just the right amount, of snarky conversation, sexy-times and likeable characters, and everything one of those points fell short with this one.
Joss was complicated. And Troy didn’t do complicated…
OWYM is an underused trope, and at best often not used very well, and I really think that Amy missed a huge opportunity with this one. I loved Troy, and for the most part I sort of understood Joss’ motivations but it was just the way she went about everything and the general treatment of troy in the latter stages of the books. He in general was good for an illicit secret fumble which took far too long to progress to full on sex, but that was as far as she seemed to be prepared to go.
"We have chemistry…"
True dat! But it was pretty much killed each and every time by the insertion of two of the most annoying phrases known to man;
'Sweet baby Cheeses' 12 times.
'For the love of Mike' 7 times, and just out of interest, who the fuck is Mike?
Troy (27) came over as the more mature and adjusted person to Joss (34) pretty much throughout the whole book, and what could have been reading gold resembled more of a rusty old tin can by the time it was finished.
"Think you can last eight seconds..?"
"Eight seconds, huh? I heard you rodeo guys had a short fuse. We have pills for that you know..?"
"I can go longer than eight seconds as well you know. But even if it were true, I promise you, doc, it’d be the best damn eight seconds of your life."
This book can absolutely be read as a standalone, and in general the writing was still sound, although I have to admit the characters really didn’t carry the authors usual voice. I just struggled with the OTT drama and reactions from a woman who was supposed to the older party in the story.
"I can’t have sex with you…"
"Yeah you’ve mentioned it once or twice."

The older woman/younger man trope is one I do enjoy and, being familiar with Amy Andrews' writing, I was hopeful that she would take the bull by the horns and create a hot and sexy romance between her couple.
"I’m a thirty-four-year-old widow with a fifteen-year-old kid. You’re a twenty-seven-year-old bull rider."
On the whole Troy was an easy-going read, but falls in to read and forget category for me as it didn't bring anything unique to the table which was a shame as there was opportunity to be had with Joss and Troy. In reality, Joss actually came over as younger than Troy, who was level headed and honest to her hot-headed and stubborn, and her constant little prayers to "sweet baby cheeses" did nothing but give me a headache from rolling my eyes at the phrase. What I did enjoy was seeing Troy reach out to Joss' son and make a difference in his life. That aspect was lovely, but all in all I have to be honest and say this one didn't quite hit the spot: you can't win then all.
Bull riders are cocky and unstoppable. They are also young. Because the old bull riders are broken and not as cocky.
Dr. Joss Garrity is a single mother, a busy physician who specializes in Emergency Medicine and trying to figure out life in general after a move from Chicago to Texas. Joss has made the decision to move from Chicago to rural Texas to live with her father-in-law in hopes that it will turn around her son's life. Her son has been her focus and trying to help him find the right path as he grows up.
Joss is on her way home from a late shift at the ER when her car gets a flat tire. And if you have never tried to change a flat tire, you will sympathize with her efforts in trying to change it. A good samaritan stops to help Joss change it and this is her first time meeting Troy Jensen.
Joss keeps running into Troy while he is in town for the rodeo. She is able to brush them off until he lands in her ER as a patient. Because he has nowhere to go to recover but a hotel room, she invites him back to stay at her father-in-law's house. This turns out to be one of the best things she has ever done in her life. Not just for her son or father-in-law but for her as well.
My only issue with this book is that Joss is hung up on the fact that troy is younger than she is. Seriously? But I do realize that for some women dating a man who is a few years younger is a major hang up.
Amy Andrews always writes a fantastic entertaining story. Her characters are people you actually would love to be friends with in real life.
I was provided with a copy of this book by Tule Publishing in exchange for a fair honest unbiased review.
I liked how Amy Andrews wrote the hero (Troy Jensen) in this book, giving him a rather steady and solid personality, with a positive outlook on life, in spite of his very troubled past. Troy is a “warm, funny, laid-back guy” with a terrible past. That past allows him to function as a role model to the heroine’s son.
I would have liked to see more of little boy Troy and how he turned into this self-confident bull rider. The depiction of his cockiness is a bit eye-rolling - “There were only two things he was really good at: riding bulls and satisfying women” (55%, quote from ARC) - but I guess that dimension is also important for the picture.
I really liked that the hero, younger than the heroine (Joss Garrity), is so “flinty in his feelings and convictions”. They talk and treat each other well and the conflicts that arise are believable.
I also liked the side characters – Joss’s teenage son and father in law, Troy’s colleagues – they all add to the plot.
A significant part of the story is spent with both main characters’ thoughts and musings about sex, how it feels to practice it and its effects – and that didn’t interest me at all. Unfortunately what we find here is the same worn-out phraseology and imagery, the goose bumps, the pebbled nipples (“into hard achy points”), the “guttural, primitive bellow”. There’s even a detailed description of the hero’s ‘beautiful’ penis.
4.5 Stars
Troy one sweet Bull Rider. He's also pretty sexy!
I enjoyed this age gap romance . Despite having nothing in common Troy and Joss have great chemistry. Their accidental meetings helped created this passionate couple .
The book was a short read that I was able to finish in a few hours. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and the characters in it however I think it could have used an additional chapter or an epilogue . I wasn't ready to see these characters leave so soon.
4.5 Stars Great read!
Troy and Joss were well developed characters and you could feel their emotions tugging on your heart string. The dynamics and interacting storyline brings you in making you a part of this wonderful story. Amy Andrews has penned a fabulous addition to the American Extreme Bull Riders Tour series. I would definitely recommend this book and series.
I love Amy Andrews’ books and I’m loving the Extreme Bull Riders series so put the two together and that’s an automatic request.
Joss Garrity is a widow with a 15 year old son, living with her father-in –law in Texas. Recently life has been tough, not enough sleep, her son has been acting out and on top of that she has a flat tyre late at night in the middle of nowhere after making a housecall to a stubborn patient.
Troy Jensen is an Australian bull rider, busted down to the pro circuit but determined to make his way back up. When he sees a woman whacking wheel nuts with a tyre iron in the middle of nowhere he stops to lend a hand. But despite his best efforts and charm he can’t persuade the doctor to have a drink with him.
But fates conspire and Troy and Joss find their paths cross more than once, culminating in Troy staying with Joss after he dislocates his elbow after being tossed by a bull.
Troy is delectable. A hot young Aussie bull rider with a troubled past which he overcame with the help of a man who gave him a chance, he sees similar signs in Joss’ son and wants to help him.
Joss is every woman ever. Holding down a full time job, juggling the demands of a teenager and an elderly father-in-law, coping with moving home and job, feeling as though life has passed her by. Then this hot, younger guy makes his interest clear. But is his interest just until he recovers from his injuries?
This is very different from the previous two books I have read in this series. If this is your first foray, the books are written by different authors. This book is less about the bull-riding than Casey, but it’s sweet and sexy and funny.
Another winner.
I rarely give 5 stars but this book was so deserving of that and more! Wonderfully thrilling with romance, love, and joy., and how love hits regardless of walls people put up.
Troy by author Amy Andrews was a story that was as blissfully close to a perfect read as you can get. The two main characters of Troy and Joss were mesmerising and the emotions portrayed continually tugged at the heartstrings of this reader. I cannot recommend this book enough and it's another top read for my fave reads list.
Review copy received from Tule Publishing via Netgalley
Following this series has been one wild ride (pun intended), with Troy there's a certain vulnerability to him that touches your heart, hurting for a little boy who never knew love. Joss was just what the doctor ordered (pun intended again) when she opens her home, and after much persistence by Troy, her heart to him.
Ms Andrews has created relatable characters not with with Troy and Joss, but with her son Damien and father-law Gus. These are all characters who'll leave you with a moment of pause, causing you to stop to think about the value of living each day to its fullest.
This is not just another bull riding story, the way the author presents what could have been construed as a storyline clearly written about many times already...is with freshness and emotions...which will surely carry on after to story had ended.
This ARC book is complimentary, provided by the Publisher and Netgally, I am voluntarily providing my honest review.
Loved this book. Loved the storyline and the sex was hot. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because of the line "sweet baby cheeses" which was said quite often by the heroine "Joss". It was damn annoying. I counted it to be used 12 times yet I think it was more than that. Otherwise a great book.
