This is the first time for me with this author but desire has been around before now in reading her. The story intrigued me with it also being a beginning to a series it seems so nothing missed. Starting out with expectations when it comes to what she imagined of a life of a criminal lawyer is one thing, with reality crashing in the truth of it for one such as her starting out. Tristan is the one pulling the strings with Katerina when things change for him. Thing is though somewhere along the line those strings begin to wrap also around him lol. The kids get attention though with heat between the two adults that you sit back for some romance in entertaining way.

***I received an ebook copy in exchange for an honest review***

Breaching the Contract is a short, sexy, and swoon-worthy novella that kicks of the Conflict of Interest series.

Katerina is fresh out of law school and starting her dream job as an associate at an amazing law firm. Excited to work under Jaxon Bentley, Kat jumps head first into her job and loves every minute of it ... Until Jaxon is pulled away from the office and Kat finds herself working under his partner, moody and bossy Tristan Channing.

This was a very quick read. Not only is it a shorter novella, but I got wrapped right up in the story, so before I knew it I had the whole story devoured. It was clear from the minute Kat first crossed paths with Tristan that there was some type of connection between the two of them. It was also clear that Tristan could be just a bit of an ass. However, as the book progressed Fernando revealed more and more of the circumstances that led Tristan to where he is in the present day. And the more I learned about him, the more I fell for his character. His adoration for and dedication to his children did me in, and earned him a spot on my Top Book Boyfriends of 2017 list.

I liked the fact that Kat never gave up, despite wanting to on a few occasions. She dealt with Tristan's mood swings and the tasks he tossed at her with grace, while always keeping her eye on the prize, which for her was sustaining her job at the firm.

Fernando did a great job of bringing the attraction between Kat and Tristan to life. I could feel an immediate connection between the two from the get go, and it only intensified as the story progressed. There was no insta-love, but rather a nice, slow burn that kept me hanging on Fernando's every word and wanting more of both the main two characters.

I enjoyed the plot in Breaching the Contract and everything flowed together very well. Fernando painted pictures with her words, and I was able to visualize the story as I was reading along. And the character development was there, especially for Tristan, who in my opinion changed the most in the story.

The only thing I wish was different about the book is the length. I want more of these two characters, and I want to see where they are in the future after the end of the book.

I can't wait to see what's next in this series, and hopefully Fernando lets us at least have a small glimpse of Kat and Tristan somewhere along the way.

Five stars to this novel!

Breaching the Contract is a quick, mildly angsty office romance with just the right amount of tension and spice. Kat is a very likable heroine: smart, hard-working, and exhibits just the right amount of sass while still remaining professional. Tristan was a bit mercurial, but once you find out what he's dealing with, it's easy to give him a pass. The chemistry between them is instant, which made the book a nice little slow burn, as they don't get together until well into the second half of the book. Kat's connection with Tristan's kids was one of my favorite parts of the book and the care and affection that she and Tristan showed towards each other prior to their relationship turning physical made that connection even more believable and gratifying. The major bit of drama added in the end was a big surprise and I was concerned as to whether they would find a resolution in this book since I know that a second book is due out in the series (Seducing the Defendant) in November. This was my first Chantal Fernando book but it won't be my last - I really enjoyed her writing and I think she did a great job of developing her characters in a short amount the time. I give the book 3.5 out of 5 wine glasses.

I received a copy from Netgalley.

Breaching the Contract is a short, light-hearted, romance. Kat has just been hired as an associate attorney at a law firm under one of the partners, Jaxon. Under him, she is treated as an equal, but when he leaves for a time because of a family emergency, Kat must work with the other partner of the law firm, Tristan. What she experiences is much different. She basically becomes an assistant and ends up watching Tristan's two children. As Kat and Tristan get to know one another, they quickly fall for each other.

Breaching the Contract is a nice read if you are looking for something quick, contains low drama and angst, and do not mind reading a book that is not as in-depth as others by this author. It is different than what she normally writes, but in a good way. It was nice, but I would have loved if this book was about a hundred pages longer and maybe had more character and plot development. Although this was fast book and not as deep as I had hoped, I did enjoy it. The next novella in this series is about Jaxon and I'm looking forward to reading his story.

A short and sweet read. Who knew getting your dream job could also be a big pain in the butt. Especially when your hot single dad boos has you running around doing everything but your job, and he is doing his job, while trying not to think about undressing his hot new colleague. An alpha male who can be a jerk, but deep down underneath he is super sexy and actually has a big heart, while our female gets in way over her head with both the tasks she is given and what feelings she begins to feel for Tristan

I am a huge fan of Ms. Fernando’s motorcycle club series, “The Wind Dragons,” but sadly this book just did not give me the satisfaction and fulfillment I tend to receive after reading one of those books. This book was just mediocre for me.

Kat has scored a lucrative position at an outstanding law firm while she is fresh out of college. This is her dream job. Her superior treats her with respect and admiration…until he has a family emergency and she is now left in the wake of the other boss…Tristan. Tristan has a more controlling demeanor about him. For Kat, who graduated TOP student in her class, she has now been demoted to school pick-up extraordinaire and nanny for Tristan’s two children. As much as Kat would like to be mad at Tristan for this demotion, there is definitely some sexual tension rolling between them.

I’m all over the place with this man, back and forth, hot and cold. I don’t know whether I want to kiss him or kick him right in the nuts.

Tristan and Kat don’t fight off their attraction for long and I felt like their relationship was rushed. There is not much in the way of relationship angst between them, but they do have to face some challenging moments together. This was a very quick read for me, and if you are looking for a book to give you instant gratification within a short time, then this will be perfect for you.

Breaching the Contract is feel-good office romance with fun characters and wit. Kat's inner dialogue kept me chuckling through most of the story and I really like that this isn't an instalove romance. The fact that Tristan and Kat don't fall into bed immediately and spend a big portion of the story avoiding that very thing is one of the things that adds to the story. There is a rather unnecessary plot twist toward the end that almost seems to be thrown in for the sake of a bit of angst to this otherwise light-hearted tale, leaving the ending feeling a bit rushed to resolve the issue. Other than that, the book is well-written and entertaining, with a charismatic pair and a couple of sweet kids, making this perfect for a fun afternoon read.

I was so excited when I saw that Chantal Fernando was releasing a new series, I have always really liked her books and Breaching The Contract is another one that I really liked. Some may know that I am a paralegal, well a stay at home one for the moment but the law is something that I have always loved. There aren’t too many lawyer themed romances out there; some are amazing some not so I tend to be a bit more aware if something is not right. I will admit I was so into Breaching The Contract that I didn’t even notice if there were any of those dreaded issues.

Kat is just starting her position at the firm and wants to make sure that she not only does her job right but proves to the partners that they made the right choice in hiring her. What she doesn’t expect is one of the partners, Tristan, being a total asshole to her and no I am not exaggerating he really is an asshole. Hmmm sounds like a few attorneys I know actually, but anyways he does not try to make Kat’s life or job any easier. Tristan is a single dad and really only shows that softer side of himself to his kids but he can also be strict at the same time. The more these two interact you can almost feel the chemistry in waves. I liked that Kat didn’t back down and wouldn’t let him break her. When something happens I really wanted to beat Tristan but at the same time I understood why he reacted that way, I am sure I would have as well if I was in his position.

Breaching The Contact is the first book in this new series and I already am excited about the next book. It is a fairly quick read so grab your kindle one afternoon and read this one I think you will really like it.

This was a quick and steamy read. It is very different from the Wind Dragon Series, but still very enjoyable. Tristan and Kat have undeniable chemistry from the first moment they meet, but unfortunately, there is a little snag in their budding romance.

Very cute story and fast-paced; almost feels like insta-love, but there is a build-up as well as a love/hate aspect.

This was a quick, fast paced read with a fun story, likable characters, a lot of sweet and a nice amount of sexy. Awesome way to kick of a new series. I totally enjoyed it!

There was a good introduction so you get a great feel for the characters right away and then we're off. I loved Tristan, he’s kind of gruff on the outside but so sweet when you get to know him. I really liked Kat, she was determined and such a hard worker. I like how they meet, the complication of working together they face, and the growing heat and attraction they have. It was really entertaining and I liked how it developed. I really enjoyed Tristan's kids as well and the sweet way they played into everything.

The writing is really good. It’s not super deep but there’s enough substance to get you really invested and rooting for Tristan and Kat. The story is told from Kat’s POV and I liked her voice. I still felt like I knew Tristan however, what he was thinking and how he was feeling with the way the author described him, which was awesome. There was also some drama I didn't see coming that added a nice amount of tension which I enjoyed. Great ending and really good epilogue.

It's definitely a light read with an entertaining vibe and I totally enjoyed it. I liked all the characters that were introduced, loved the romance happening between Tristan and Kat, and am looking forward to more in this series. It might have been short but it was solid and gave me just what I needed... a sweet romance that was sexy and fun!

BREACHING THE CONTRACT is sweet and fast start to Ms. Fernando's new series, just perfect for when you are in the mood for a quick read or if you are a fan of workplace romances. This story has a lot of what I enjoy in a book - interesting characters, sizzling chemistry and adorable kids, but most of all, little drama.

Kat Dawson is a new law graduate ready to take the world by storm and only the best law firm will do. Working under the tutelage of one of the best criminal attorneys in the business is her dream and she's already making her mark, but when he has to take emergency leave, she finds herself under the supervision of his partner.

Ordinarily, this would not be an issue, except for the attraction that sparked between them from their first meeting and the fact that her new boss considers her his new nanny/ gofer, instead of using her legal skills. What happens when the attraction between them can't be contained and they cross the line?

I enjoyed Kat and Tristan's interactions and how their relationship grew as they got to know each other better. Tristan's arrogance was offset by his adorable devotion to his children and the fact that under all of that he was a really good man. Kat is feisty and smart, and has what it takes to succeed in her chosen career. They were a positive influence on each other and they grew personally out of it.

This was a very entertaining story and my only complaint is that the story ended abruptly, just at the point it was starting to pick up steam. Also, I think there was room for the characters to be developed even more but it ended too soon for that. I am looking forward to the next story in the series and hope we get more of Tristan and Kat in it.

Chantal Fernando is a favorite author of mine so I was really excited to get my hands on her newest book. Breaching The Contract was one of her sweeter books and I really liked that romance she portrayed in it. Kat and Tristan had the sparks flying right out of my Kindle and I loved the connection they had. What I really liked about this book though was the simplicity of it. There was no high drama or angsty moments, just pure romance and chemistry between two characters. Ms. Fernando proved with this book that you don't need high dramatics and shockers to keep a readers interest because this book had me just as captivated as her MC books keep me.

You would think I get tired of hearing about attorney's all day long but this book went and proved that wrong. But I'm a little sad all the attorney's in my office are old, it's not fair guys! Ms. Fernando also left me very curious about side characters so I can't wait to see what else comes from this series.

First of this isn't like the other Chantal Fernando books I'm used to the MC ones. This is a super fast read that was simple and cute. A office romance what you see in the blurb is what you get on this one. Not much to expound I would have liked to have more but easy read.

I liked it enough, direct to the story. The tropes single dad, love hate, and lawyers are ones I gravitate to, I think this could have been better though. New hire Kat her boss Tristan makes her run errands, she becomes a nanny to his kids. Funny enough the kids like her right away. I'll say Tristan seemed likr a good dad though even with the circumstances. Even with a bump in the road their lives soon after. Not too angsty at all, light read cute enough. Hoping Jaxon has a meatier story ahead.

Both attracted, but neither wants to cross that line at first. Only to do so and find that it was the best decision they made. Their relationship doesn't start off so good, but a few errands, his kids, and working together grows into something more. They have a stumble or two, but eventually they get their happy ending. I could not put this book down. This story caught me from page one and kept my interest the entire time. I enjoyed this steory and its characters. I loved little Logan. This was a good read. There were some hot sex scenes as well.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Breaching The Contract by Chantal Fernando is the first book in the new Conflict of Interest Series.
A brand new series about a brigade of lawyers.
Meet Katerina- Kat- Dawson. She graduated at the top of her class and is the new associate at a top law firm. She's ready and eager.
Tristan Channing is co-owner of a very successful law firm and Kat's new boss. He can't stand to have her around and gives her odd jobs. But that backfires.
It is so hard to review this book, because it would be too easy to give it all away. Just know this, Breaching the Contract is a great story. The writing is excellent and the characters are loveable. Tristan is someone you'd like to snuggle up to.
I love Chantal Fernando's books and this one is no exception.
I love the characters, the words and the story.
I give 5 stars. Thank you so much, Chantal Fernando.

I've got mixed feelings about this book. Now when I first started it, I was loving it! I mean I was pretty much devouring it chapter by chapter as Kat & Tristan's chemistry heated up throughout the book. And the chemistry between them was scorching!
I loved Kat as a heroine because she was feisty, she could hold her own against her male colleagues and no matter how much Tristan was a bit of an arse to her, she sucked it up and just got it done.
Tristan *sigh* he is most definitely a swoon worthy man in my book. He's hot, intelligent and a great single dad to boot! He's pretty much got the full package in my eyes and I slowly fell for him throughout the book as Kat does as well.
Ok so now the part where I've got mixed feeling about the book. Don't get me wrong I loved the story! But... I kind of felt that the last few chapters were a bit rushed for my liking. It was as though it was an afterthought that needed to be added in the last couple of chapters and then rounded off pretty quick. Which is why I've given the book 3.5 stars. If it wasn't for the end, I know I would have rated it higher, some might love the ended. I just wasn't feeling it unfortunately, but it was still a good read and you should definitely give it a go.

Breaching the Contract is the latest release by bestselling Australian author Chantal Fernando and is a heart-warming and passionate start to her new series, Conflict of Interest that features a romance readers are sure to love.

Katerina Dawson knows exactly what she wants out of life. And her recent employment at a top law firm is just start of achieving her dream of becoming a criminal lawyer. The only thing standing in Kat’s way seems to be one of her new bosses, who sends her out on coffee runs and to pick his kids up for school. Tristan Bentley is one of the partners and everything in a lawyer Kat wants to be. Too bad he’s also rude, bossy and managing to slowly worm his way under Kat’s defenses with his unexpected moments of vulnerability and kindness. Falling for Tristan could mean the end of her career if word gets out, but sometimes fate has other ideas that what we had planned for ourselves….

Launching Chantal Fernando’s new series, Breaching the Contract was a delightfully addictive and highly entertaining romantic read. I absolutely devoured this novel, easily finishing it in one day despite having to work eight hours of that day—I’m sure any reader could finish it in just a couple of hours. It was just a quick, solid read that manages to pack plenty of attraction, chemistry and entertainment into its pages.

I don’t know why but heading into Breaching the Contract, I was expecting a story that would unfold through the POV’s of both the main characters and this wasn’t actually the case. I think it comes from the impression the description made. That being said, I did very much like Kat so following her throughout the story was in no way unpleasant.

I loved this law firm that Fernando has introduced us to. Kat and Tristian are front and centre as our main characters, but I’m also already very keen to see more of cheeky secretary Yvonne, sexy tattooed and bearded lawyer Hunter, suave and strong partner Jaxon and even the quieter law student Callum. I know Jaxon will feature in the next novel, but I hope we see more of the rest of the gang too.

Kat and Tristian had a really endearing relationship and I loved seeing Chantal Fernando focus on more than just their sexual relationship. The build-up was fabulous, and it was so sweet seeing Kat get to know Tristian’s family as well as the man himself. Logan was beyond adorable and that little man certainly won me over throughout the story. He really was just the cutest!

A truly enjoyable read, Breaching the Contract was thoroughly entertaining and I can’t wait to see whatever Chantal Fernando has in store for these characters next!

Kat is working to prove herself and her goal is to be made a partner of the firm. When she chases down a hottie to give him back his wallet, the instant hit of chemistry is unmistakable. When she goes into the office only to find out that he is one of her bosses, the disappointment is instantaneous. But when a chance encounter sees the two getting close, will they take this chance or will they maintain the professionalism that they strive for?

I really enjoyed this story, this was a bit different than what I'm used to from Chantal Fernando but that doesn't mean it was any less good. Giving us Tristan, a widower with two kids, that has off the charts chemistry with Kat, a new associate that he is supposed to be teaching. My only complaint was how short this was, I was not ready for it to be over! I give this 4.5 stars.

New series , book 1 . Have read the authors M/C stories. This is a lawyer series . Hero is Tristen. Heroine is Kat .
This one is told in the females point of view except the last chapter.
It's a short Novella .
Kat graduated wanting to be a lawyer. She joins a firm . She gets along great with her boss who is also a partner. After a few days her boss doesn't show up . Tristen advises Kat that an emergency happened and she will be reporting to him .
Kat doesn't understand why Tristen is getting her to do odd jobs outside of the office ??? Why ??? Is Tristen have a lot on his plate or does he feel uncomfortable around her . To make things interesting both his kids love her . Half way through the story Tristen finds out a shocking thing about his son . Can't wait for book 2
