A sweet little quickie, perfect for a mental getaway!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Do you need a break from your stressful day? Got an hour or two for a refreshing little number? This story is just what you need for a quick pick me up. Interesting characters with a decent amount of development and a hot little story, perfect for some relaxation.
I've read several of Chantal's books before and always enjoy her writing. Great male leads that are sexy and sweet and this one is no different. Plus, she introduces some great characters that hopefully will show up in future books.
A fun, sexy little read that I think you'll enjoy. I sure did!
Chantal Fernando is a must buy, must read author. I enjouy her voice and versitility so much that I find myself enjoying each world she creates. I like the cross with the Wind Dragons world. This felt different, but I enjoyed it on the whole!
Breaching the Contract is book one in the new Conflict of Interest Series and what a great start it was, I could not put it down, If you love Office Romance you will love this quick read.
Kat Dawson has just graduated law school and has landed her dream job at one of the top law firms in the city, she is meant to be working for Jaxson but when he gets called away indefinitely she starts working for single dad Tristan Channing. Kat's dream job did not entail being a lackey or stepping in for a sick nanny but her new boss seems to think these are part of her duties.
Kat and Tristan have an instant attraction but it would be crossing a line to hope for it to be anymore than a working relationship,will Tristan be willing to cross that line......
This is a very quick read but the story still has great strong characters and enough twists and turns to keep you turning the pages. Looking forward to the next book in this series
Katerina is a newly hired at Bentley & Channing one of the top firms around any hired out straight out from graduating would kill for. She is placed to work under Jaxson Bentley, who may I add is a dream to work for. His partner on the other hand Tristan Channing is a different story he makes Interns cry. Tristan is a thorn on Kat's side in the beinging but, through the book we start to see his layers being peeled back one by one to see the man beneath all that bravado. His kids are too adorable and start to get attached to Kat without even noticing. The twist in this book was unexpected I didn't see that coming I expected like a bit of a scandal. It kind of broken my heart a bit and made me feel for them and hoped for the best. Hoped they make it out of the storm together and stronger then ever or will Tristan shut out the best thing that has happened to him? You'll have to find out and read it.
This is a the beginning of a new series called The Conflict of Interest Series which will be of two ebooks and two full length novels be on the look out for the future dates.
This is a fast quick read that I read in less than an hour. I liked it but wanted more. The characters were okay but not real notable. I loved the Wind Dragon series much more.
Breaching the Contract is the first book in the Conflict of Interest series by Chantal Fernando and I absolutely loved it. I have not read any of Chantal books before, so I went in with an open mind and was not disappointed. It was a slow burn romance for Kat and Tristan but a fast-paced book; which I liked. I was never bored with this book; it kept me wanting to see what happened next. The little twist in this book threw me off because I didn’t see that coming at all.
Tristen is great single father with a very demanding job, and Kat was a natural with Tristen’s two children for someone who was not used to children. Liked how Kat wanted to standby Tristan no matter what would happen; showing how strong and driven she is.
The secondary characters are the scene stealers, they were hilarious and noisy but aren’t most coworkers. Can’t wait to see how they are with Jaxson’s book.
I found this book to be ok. It's a super quick read and not a lot of drama which is refreshing. But it's not a book I'd find myself running out to buy. Especially since I really like this author. I felt like I could've used a little more of a story and it seemed to move really fast.
Kat gets her dream job. It's something she has wanted all her life. and working with her boss Tristan has its challenges. She's not his babysitter or assistant. She doesn't want to run after his kids, even if she does like them or get him his coffee. Kat wants to be working on cases. But a few bumps in Tristan's life has Kat and Tristan spending more time together skirting their feelings. And if something isn't done about it soon they'll both ignite into flames.
I have been a fan of the Wind Dragon's books for a while and when I saw a chance to read this new lawyer drama I jumped at the chance, I just must have missed the fact it was a novella. The story line was one that I thought could have been a full story. I was invested enough from chapter one, but after their first meeting things went at light speed. Romance, love and happy all in the blink of an eye. I get that it was just a jumping off point for Jaxon's book, but It might have read better if the story was AFTER Jaxon's book.
I enjoyed it enough, but I probably wouldn't read it again.
3.5 Stars!!
I’ll start this review by saying this; I liked this book, just didn’t quite loved it. Because baby, we can't love them all. Right?
Breaching the Contract premise sounded amaze-tits. With all the boss-office romance vibes going on there, I was expecting to feel a lot of tension. But while I enjoyed it, the story ended up being one of those books where not a lot is happening and the stuff that is happening is just ok. Cute, but ok.
Even though the story was short, it was well-written and the characters were all likable. I just wish I had gotten more of Kat and Tristan's story, and for the author to forget about that last twist in the story.
I think Breaching the Contract is a series with a lot of potential, so I will be definitely reading more from Ms. Fernando in the future.
If you're in the mood for a short but sweet fast paced office romance, give this book a chance.
This is a particularly short book with an insta-lust/insta-love plot line. There isn't much meat to either Kat or Tristan and the kids are the best part of the story. I didn't find the meet to be cute and I found Tristan's foolishness at work less than endearing.
The secondary plot of Tristan's previous marriage and children was more a distraction than anything else and the ease with which Kat and the kids got along was pretty insane. The way everything just fit perfectly was so over the top rosy that I struggled to find it believable.
If you like your romance with very little meat and particularly fantastical, this is probably for you. I found it too short and too superficial to truly enjoy but see that there's potential.
I loved the story. Was a quick easy read for me. Only took an hour. Look forward to reading book two when it's out. Thanks.
Katerina “Kat” dreamed of becoming a criminal lawyer and she just became associate for one of the the top firm. When she started working under the wing of the Jaxon Bentley everything was what she dreamed of. He was kind, considerate but firm. But when he had to live for family emergency, she is working with other partner Tristan. He is total opposite of Jaxon. She couldn’t believe what she had to do for Tristan from picking up his kids, being nanny plus running to get his coffee. She wanted make partner sooner than later but work Tristan is giving her seems far away from being a lawyer.
Tristan met Kat outside of the firm when she gave him his wallet. He wanted to take her out to coffee but she brushed away. Now she is sitting across from his partner’s office and now she will be working for him. He wanted to test her abilities and he really needed a hand with his kids.
Kat doesn’t like to be a gopher for Tristan but she gets to see very different side of Tristan when he is with his kids and his kids really her especially his son Logan.
Kat sees Tristan differently and both are getting closer outside of law office, thanks to Logan. Tristan and Kat is getting closer but nothing seems easy as it is. Now they have to decide if they will pursue...
It was short and read in couple of hours. It was cute and fun. I just wished there were more story of Kat and Tristan..
As usual Chantal Fernando writes a good story! this is a fast paced story that is quick to read and still hits all the good points. A little drama, a little heat, a dash of romance, all in a neat package.
I've always enjoyed Chantal Fernando's work, her style of writing is one I really enjoy. This book followed suit and I was ready to dive right in and get lost in her characters like I constantly find myself doing. However this one felt a little glossed over. I understand it was novella sized and because of that only so much could be added but, it left me unfulfilled. I wanted so much more from the relationship of not only the main characters but, the supporting ones too.
Kat and Tristian were intriguing, their relationship pulled you in from the get go. With the sexual tension and mutual attraction evident from the first meeting I felt like this would be an explosive relationship that would keep me on my toes. But it seemed like whenever a conflict would arise a sentence or two would resolve it.
I just felt like I invested more into this story than the story did in being told.
I am a huge fan of Chantal Fernando's and Breaching the Contract unfortunately was a let down for me. I felt that the story was a bit rushed, and unrealistic at times. Nothing happened. I was waiting for that big drama moment, but it never came. I didn't feel that intense connection between Tristan and Kat either sadly.
By all means Breaching the Contract was a cute office romance, I did enjoy it, but it's not my favorite by this author.
I have been a fan of Author Chantal Fernando from her Wing Dragons MC Series. Her way of writing flows and will draw you into the story.
Breaching the Contract is book 1 in her Conflict of Interest series. If you enjoy office romances then this is the book for you. The characters will have you smiling and laughing as they learn the dynamics of working together. It was short and sweet read for me. I look forward to reading the next in this series.
Katerina Dawson has just passed the bar and starting as a junior associate at one of the most sought after law firms in city. She has big dreams of doing what she loves, fighting for people: helping defend them. But her job is not exactly what she signed up for. As she learns to handle herself when she is around her boss, Tristan Channing.
Tristan Channing has no desire to have to baby sit the new associate Katerina Dawson. But when his partner takes a leave of absence, he has to do what is needed for the firm. Tristan knows that Katerina is capable for being an outstanding attorney but she stirs feeling in him that he has not felt in a while. Better to have her doing errands away from the office then having temptation right there.
As things heat up between Katerina and Tristan, they will have to learn to keep their desires in check while at the office. But can they do this? Or will the looks and simple touches be too much?
Something very different about this author is that you can enjoy her stories with minimal drama. That makes this book an easy going read that you can enjoy from beginning to end like I did. From the start these two started on with the wrong foot. But it turns out that first impressions can be superficial and deceiving. Tristan challenges Kat without her knowing and even when he gets on her every nerve she learns a lot about herself and him. And it doesn't hurt having the help of two little ones. This is a very nice story with a twist I was not expecting at all and results I also did not imagine. So well played...
I love Chantal Fernando her writing style, her characters and story lines are always a fun and always an enjoyable read.
This story was no exception I adorded the characters and the story line was a real page turner.
I felt it was milder than her previous works however right up with the best of them.
I loved Kat what a spitfire!!! Her character was easy to like she had sass and intelligence and I loved they way she treated the children.
Tristian is handsome and works really hard and loves even harder.
The spark between the two is there in an instant and doesn't waver one bit. I loved their connection.
The side characters are entirely necessary they bring about the story as a whole and contribute effortlessly.
All up a really quick and enjoyable read that I am sooooo looking forward to continuing on with the series.
Chantal Fernando turns up the heat in the first of a new series that revolves around a company of legal eagles whose antics in and out of the courtroom are legend. When a newly hired law graduate butts heads with one of her bosses, the humor and hijinks walk hand in hand in this reluctant romance that builds slow and steady despite two wary protagonists. Engaging characters, witty dialogue, and a smoothly plotted storyline made this a fast and enjoyable read.
Katerina "Kat" Dawson has recently started working for one of the best law firms in the city. Working under her new boss Jaxon Bentley is going amazingly well until Jaxon has to take a leave of absence. When his partner, Tristan Channing, takes over his cases, Kat finds herself basically running errands and taking care of Tristan's kids. Color her not amused!
Tristan is attracted to Jaxon's new associate, Kat, the minute he sees her. He had even planned to ask her out until he has to step in as her boss temporarily. Now it's all Tristan can do to resist Kat. When Tristan's son gets sick and asks for Kat, Tristan is at a loss as to what to do. Never would he ever have imagined, by placing her out of his reach, he would be nurturing a relationship between Kat and his kids. Suddenly, Tristan is having a very hard time keeping away from Kat. Will he lose the battle and his heart in it?!
I love author Chantal Fernando. I thought her WIND DRAGONS series was super sexy... well, her CONFLICT OF INTEREST series is just as hot! The instant attraction between Kat and Tristan is mind-blowing. No matter how hard they fight it, they both go down in flames... but in such a good way. Plus, we get the added bonus of Tristan being a dad, and a great one at that. There is just something really attractive about a hard-working man who loves and will do anything to care for his kids. BREACHING THE CONTRACT is a great start to what promises to be a great series.
