Fantastic. Absolutely loved this book. I have never read any of Lisa Harris's books so finding this little gem was a pleasant surprise. I can't wait to read more from her.
The suspense/murder/mystery aspect of this book made me feel as if I was reading a criminal minds episode. The book is filled with loveable characters and the fact that I hadn't read any of the other Nikki Boyd files didn't hinder my ability to enjoy or understand the story line. A great read if you are a lover of Christian suspense fiction. Can't wait to read the previous Nikki Boyd files.

It is always a joy to discover a new book by Lisa Harris. As with all of her books this one is very well written with a good plot. I was pulled immediately into the action and could not put this book down. I recommend this book to those who enjoyed a good suspense.
This was a fast action suspenseful book that is hard to put down. I was a little frustrated with the span of years because I wanted to see Garrett and Jordan's relationship develop instead of the slow simmering romance. But the story was good and kept you guessing who the killer was. I have read some in the series but it isn't necessary in order to understand the characters in this book.
Garrett Addison has difficulty facing the fact that he hasn't been able to stop the teen girls from dying at the hands of the Angel Abductor. The woman he loves, Jordan Lambert is equally stymied. Together they follow the c!ues, risking their lives to find the killer before he takes another girl and kills her. Lots of action and a c!ean read! Nikki Boyd, from the other books in this series, almost has a cameo role in this book, but it is a satisfactory conclusion to the other books in the series.
Loved this one! Although...for Christian fiction, you will find only a sprinkling of that in this book, existing only in a few prayers in desperate situations. Aside from that, if, like me, you love clean writing with suspense and a little romance thrown in, then I highly recommend this book. You won't be disappointed.
This story is about a serial killer, The Angel Abductor. The killer takes young teenage blonde girls. Garrett Anderson is new to his job with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation when there is a third victim. The FBI is brought into the case and Jordan, who once was romantically involved with Garrett is brought into the case. They both continue to have feelings for one another, but Jordan's job with the FBI and her relocation involved had ended their relationship several years ago.
This story held my interest all the way through.
I was given a free ecopy of this book to read by the publisher, Revell and Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.
I have greatly enjoyed Lisa Harris’s Nikki Boyd Files series. Throughout the series Nikki and her colleagues in the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation solved missing persons cases, but they were never able to solve the abduction of Nikki’s sister, Sarah. In Vanishing Point we finally find out who was behind the abduction and whether or not Sarah, whose body had never been found, is alive or not. The story actually begins prior to Sarah’s going missing, with the third victim of the Angel Abductor. It ends over a decade later with the families, investigators, and Harris’s readers finally getting closure.
New characters are introduced in Vanishing Point, among them is Special Agent Garrett Addison of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and Jordan Lambert with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Garrett and Jordan had once been close while enrolled in the Police Academy, but their careers had led them in different directions. Now, working closely together on the Angel Abductor case, might the sparks that were once there be rekindled, or have they grown cold?
The major theme in this book revolves around the classic question of why God allows bad things to happen. How does one’s faith survive when God doesn’t seem to be present? Parents reeling with the fact that their daughters will not be coming home, and investigators who see the dark side of humanity almost daily feel cause to cry out, “God, where are You?” This is a question many we have read of in the Bible have asked, and it is a question many of us have asked as well. Harris handles this question with care, not offering flip answers, but allowing her character, Jordan, to really articulate a thoughtful response.

VANISHING POINT. By Lisa Harris. book 4 " Nikki Boyd Files"
Another life taken before her time, Garrett still can't get use to these scenes. Searching area they come upon photo taken before, this would make another, with same M O. Was this the Angel Abductor, they need to call in the FBI. Riley and Jordan from the FBI get notice to help out. Old history from the academy days, come flashing back seeing Garrett again, for Jordan. Five years she choose commitment over a relationship, now with a 30 coming. This was a great series, the plot was easy to follow, and the characters were good. It was a mystery and a love story, that was enjoyable as we put the clues together. Wondering how the pieces of Jordan and Garrett would come out, together or still careers.
Given ARC by Net Galley for my voluntary review and my honest opinion.
This book is billed as a Nikki Boyd novel but she plays a limited role in this book. Part of the book takes place before the other novels and explains what happened to Nikki’s sister, and the second part of the book takes place a decade or more later, after the other novels.
Jordan bugged me a bit. She wasn’t open when I thought she should be and she was very close-minded when I thought she shouldn’t be. She lays into Garrett for following a “small” lead. It seems to me that after a decade, EVERY lead is important. The romance between Jordan and Garrett is almost non-existent, most of it happening before the book begins.
While I appreciated learning the backstory of Nikki’s sister and the closure, I felt there was a cost to the depth of the story due to the little bit here, little bit here, little bit here nature of the book.
Thank you to Revell for providing me with a free e-copy of this book. I was not required to leave a positive review. All opinions are my own.
Nikki Boyd Series:
Book 1: Vendetta
Book 2: Missing
Book 3: Pursued
Vanishing Point
Vanishing Point is filled with threads of romance, family challenges, and the race to save the young women before it's too late. While Nikki Boyd is not the primary character, she has more than a small role and allowed me to see how she became the woman she was. I really enjoyed this book which took a retrospective look at the crime that got Nikki Boyd into law enforcement. A great read and a book I would recommend to lovers of romantic suspense. However, if you want your books in sequential order, this one might jar you. I loved it!
Great series! I loved that finally we have some closer on Nikki Boyd's sister's disappearance. Although this book was a bit slow at times going back all the way to the beginning of the Angel Abductor's story from the start. This was a mystery with many puzzle pieces trying to figure out who was the Angel Abductor. I have loved the Nikki Boyd series from the start and I 'm glad for the conclusion of Sarah's disappearance. Jordan and Garrison were great characters and enjoyed reading their story.
DYNAMIC!
Intense excitement from start to finish! This novel will keep you flipping pages way into the night! Step back several years and learn the tragic event led Nikki Boyd to be relentless in her pursuit of justice. Join the TBI and FBI in their grueling pursuit of the Serial Killer who challenges all their resources. Excellent characterization, well written plot, and plenty of twists and turns to keep you guessing why the Serial Killer is so illusive. I was provided an ARC by NetGalley and Revell. The opinions expressed here are completely my own. I have preordered a copy of this book for my own personal library.
When I finished Pursued from the Nikki Boyd Files, I had a feeling that it was the last book in the series, which left me frustrated, since there were so many unanswered questions about the ongoing mystery! So, I was thrilled to see this book come out, since I felt like I would finally get some answers to the mystery of what happened to Sarah. This book is very different that the previous ones, since it is told from Garrett and Jordan's point of view, which makes sense, since they were involved in the case from the beginning. Sadly, Nikki is only a side character.
While the mystery does wrap up a lot of loose ends, I felt a bit let down by the mystery behind the Angel Abductor. It was still worth reading and an interesting story, but I would give it a 4 out of 5 stars. It is nice to have things wrapped up now and I look forward to reading more books by Lisa.
I received a copy of this book through Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.
Well, you'll need some patience for this one. It takes quite long to catch the killer and to find love.
I'm not sure why both have to take that long and the characters have not enough depth. But nevertheless the story is interesting enough.
Vanishing Point from Lisa Harris is the 4th installment in her Nikki Boyd series. While it doesn’t include Nikki as a primary character, it does dive into more of the story of what happened to her sister, Sarah.
This story easily dissects into two distinct plot lines: 1) the suspenseful tale of unsolved murders done by an at-large serial killer and 2) the “romantic” line of this romantic suspense tale. As for the first, the murder investigation remains intriguing and fast-moving. While the story spans years and even decades, the jumps in time don’t hinder the suspense – and actually add a dose of reality to the investigation: sometimes cases just hit a stand still. I enjoyed how the case picked up with each new revelation and appreciated the struggles Agent Addison went through as he tried to solve this difficult case and felt pulled toward it emotionally.
On the other side of the coin rests the romantic portion of the book, which falls short of most romantic suspense romance. Having met during academy, Jordan and Garrett’s relationship began prior to the beginning of the novel, and little is done during the course of the novel to renew their ties to one another. Aside from internal emotions that remind them they “still care” for each other despite time and distance, no romance manifests. As readers we also see little reason for their attraction, as everything remains pretty one-dimensional. As a result, the fusion of romance and suspense is lacking – with little tying the reader emotionally to either of the characters and their relationship to each other.
As a suspense novel, the story holds promise and does entertain – but including the suggestion of romance doesn’t add anything to the story. In the end, I enjoyed the novel’s details as the investigation progressed (and stalled) through the years, but was left unfulfilled with the romance and eventual resolution (a resolution that would have been more suspenseful if more time had been given to the characters and their relationship).
I thoroughly enjoyed this book by Lisa Harris. The action was nonstop and kept me turning pages late into the night! Jordan Lambert from the FBI and Garret Addison from the TBI (TN Bureau of investigation) went through the police academy together and fell in love, but their careers took them in different directions. When young girls start disappearing, they team up together to find the serial killer. The killer keeps thwarting their efforts and and when the killer gets away after several disappearance and murders, it becomes too much for Garret and he quits his job. After more than a decade, the serial killer becomes active again and he and Jordan are again thrown together to work the case and discover that they both really love each other. What ensues are many plot twists and will leave you in suspense as you race to the finish to see how it all comes together. A really good read! I highly recommend this book!
As a fan of the Nikki Boyd series, one question has hung in my mind from the beginning. It’s the same one that drove Nikki into law enforcement and kept her plunging ahead as a missing persons investigator. What happened to Nikki’s sister?
Garrett Addison has joined the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and one of his first cases involves a Polaroid picture and a murdered teenage girl. The girl is not the first and points to a serial killer the media has dubbed The Angel Abductor. Because of the multiple murders and a missing girl yet to be found, the FBI is called in to support the search.
When Jordan Lambert shows up at the crime scene, Garrett is shocked to come face to face with the woman he once loved. The woman who chose the FBI over him.
Another girl goes missing—Sarah Boyd—and the TBI is once again immersed in the search for the Angel Abductor. How can this person evade the law so easily? What were they missing? Garrett questions his ability to do this job after following a lead that doesn’t pan out.
In an investigation that takes over ten years to come to a close, the twists at the end are a surprise I didn’t see coming until I was in the middle of it. Lisa Harris has a way of putting me right in the middle of the action and making my heart race right along with the characters in her books.
Vanishing Point is a satisfying conclusion to the series, giving readers the closure they want for Nikki and her family. This one makes a good stand-alone or even an introduction to the Nikki Boyd series as a whole. Either way, fans of romantic suspense with intense investigations will devour this one.

Another installment to the Nikki Boyd Files. We were able to meet Nikki before she joined law enforcement and finally discover what actually happened to her sister, Sarah. I enjoyed this book but was a bit disappointed with the romance aspect of it. Garrett and Jordan were just hit and miss throughout the years with no real romantic tension or depth to their relationship. The mystery was interesting and it kept me turning the pages. The romance did not come together for me....
Great conclusion to what happened to Sara Boyd! After reading all of the Nikki Boyd series, this book answers what happened to Nikki’s sister. Vanishing Point is a suspense filled novel with unexpected turns and twist throughout. This book was different from what I was expecting in how Ms. Harris provided the timeline of all of the events. This was beneficial to allow the reader to see the entire picture of what occurred. I highly recommend this descriptive novel!!! You will not be disappointed. I really like that Ms. Harris has Christian characters and themes to her novels. One of the main questions she asks in this novel is one that people ask all the time which is “Where is God when something bad happens?” If you have read any of her novels before, you will enjoy this one!
***I was given a free electronic copy of this book from the publisher. This is my honest opinion. Even though I received this copy free, I have purchased her books before.
This book is fantastic. It kept me engaged and vested in the story the entire time. The characters are great the, the mystery isn't solved until the end. It brings real questions about God into the discussion.
I didn't know this was a series before I read it and I didn't feel as though I had missed anything. I will, however go back and read the others in the series.
I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Vanishing Point by Lisa Harris is the exciting conclusion to the Nikki Boyd files. It is the fourth book in the series.
With my suspense, I like a lot of chases and dead bodies piling up. Luckily, Harris included a story with a serial killer, which happens to be one of my favorite style of suspense and thriller stories. Serial Killers make the story more interesting and more pressing for the cops because they have to hunt faster or there will be more victims. With Vanishing Point, Harris definitely delivered a page turner.
The writing is clear and concise. I had no problem visualizing the setting and placing myself inside the characters and watching them interact with the numerous crime scenes. Harris also included a lot of background information from the police officer's perspective to show the work they have to do to finish the hunt.
The plot was different than I was expecting. The first three books in the series are told from Nikki Boyd's perspective, hence the name The Nikki Boyd Files, but this book takes place from Garrett Addison and Jordan Lambert's point of view, which I totally didn't expect. Not that it ruin the story. It was still a high tension novel from start to finish, but Nikki is a secondary character, not the first character, so it kind of threw me off. I expected the concluding chapter to be in Nikki's voice. I wanted her story as she finally solved what happened to her sister. I felt cheated since Nikki didn't get to share her point of view in the most important part of the story for her. Also, the bad person feels a lot like the bad person in the final episode of BBC Sherlock. They had the same personalities and the same issues. The capture of this person felt a little too easy for me with all the work Harris built into the character's ability to allude the police for over ten years, then they are caught with barely any struggle. Felt cheated.
There is romance, but it is between Garrett and Jordan. This story takes place in 2004, 2005, 2006, and present day. Garrett and Jordan have a past before this story even takes place. Then the sparks fly and disappear. Then fly and come to a conclusion with the story.
Overall, Vanishing Point by Lisa Harris is an awesome chase to find the serial killer that I really enjoy. The characters were not who I was expecting, so I was thrown for a loop. The serial killer's capture didn't really feel right to me. I thought it would have been more climactic. In general, I did enjoy the hunt for the serial killer, and it was a novel that I finished in less than a day, but I'm just picker, I believe, than most when it comes to my suspense elements.
I received a complimentary copy of Vanishing Point by Lisa Harris from Revell Publishing, but the opinions stated are all my own.
