Say No More (Gravediggers #3)
by Liliana Hart
Third in the series, now it’s time for the desperate members of the group to find their own path. Dante the playboy of the group had some distance from the others. He had his own apartment separate from the Gravediggers. This book looks into his life, how he began as a Gravedigger, the reasons and rhythms that put him in a desperate place. Yet the playboy had a weakness, the woman he left when he died. Now he is face to face with her greatest strength and weakness. He learns about a solution for his problems would involve putting his heart on the line. James Bond has infiltrated the Gravediggers girls, but sorry dear readers he does not own his heart anymore.

If you like Cat and Mouse type of Romantic Suspense stories you need to pick this one up. IT can be read as a stand lone but trust me you will want to read the first two.

Thank you to Liliana Hart for switching up how this story was started completely different from the other two which makes a reader excited to see that a writing isn't using the same format for every single book in a series.
Each book in the gravediggers series is different book one was the beginning with lots of introductions but kept close to the two main characters which readers will fall in love with. Book two I found it to be a little confusing and felt it as if the writer wrote scene and threw them together in hopes the story would make since.
Say No More is very much in the traditional of romantic suspense with action, romance, (Sexy Sex scenes) not to mention for the romantic in women this story will tug at your heart strings the more you read until the very end.
The story has twist that readers will see coming but it isn't about the twist its about the story of two that readers will fall in love with more than Dacon and Tess in book one which was my favorite until I met Dante and Eva.
One note there were times when once again it felt like the scene was written and just thrown in the book and didn't quite make since to me. That is why the book isn't a 5 stars.
I honestly think this is the best in all of Liliana Hart series I have read and I can't to read more in the Gravedigger Series.

Sometimes the dead do rise…

Dante Malcolm is a man of refined tastes. He was once a part of Britain’s Elite Intelligence Force, but there was a reason he’d never been able to capture Simon Locke, the notorious thief who always seemed to be one step ahead. That’s because Dante and Simon were one and the same, until Dante’s double life eventually caught up with him and now he belongs to the Gravediggers.

Eva Rothschild is a Detective Inspector with Interpol and is the one responsible for catching MI-6’s most notorious agent in his final heist—except the heist killed him. But something has never felt right about his death, and it’s haunted her for months. It was too easy, and Dante Malcolm was too smart to go down that way.

Dante might belong to the Gravediggers in body, but his heart and soul will always belong to the next job. The rest of the team doesn’t know about his alter ego because he made sure the information went missing from his file. So when the job he’s always waited for seems like a possibility, he sneaks out of the country like a thief in the night, only to run into the only woman who’s ever been able to match him in wit—and passion—for the job. Except they’re standing on opposite sides of the law—and only one of them can walk away with the prize.

Dante was born as Lord Dante Malcolm but when he was recruited into MI6 he was thrilled. When he had the chance to become an international thief he took that position as well. He did this with a clear conscience as he would only take things that had already been stolen from someone else. He’d just take something else for himself while he was doing the job. Strange, I know. He was then recruited into the Gravediggers and for all intents and purposes he was dead.

Dante hasn’t been thrilled in his time with the Gravediggers. He is loyal to the other members and would die for them but their boss, Eve Winters, constantly has him doing side jobs that the other members don’t know about. This story has him going after Russian nuclear missile launch codes in Dubai. When he gets there he doesn’t expect to run into the woman he was in a relationship with at the time of his death.

Liv works for Interpol, or she did until recently. She was working with Dante trying to catch the international thief, Simon Locke, and she had no idea that Dante was Simon. When he died she was devastated by not only his death but the betrayal she felt at finding out that he’d lied to her about Simon Locke. Liv is in Dubai looking for 10 girls who are in the middle of a sex trafficking ring. She quit her job at Interpol when they wouldn’t give her authorization to go after the girls. The last thing she expects is to see her dead ex-boyfriend breaking into the vault that she’s trying to break into.

To say that Liv is mad at Dante’s deception is a bit of an understatement. To say that when Dante’s fellow Gravediggers are enraged and feeling betrayed when they find out the truth about Dante and his side work for Eve is putting it mildly. Everyone was pissed at Dante but when the heads cooled they knew they had to work together to get not only the launch codes into the right hands, but also save the 10 little girls.

Another good book in the Gravediggers series. I liked both Dante and Liv in this story even though Dante was a bit of an ass at times. He was still charming and good-hearted and I couldn’t help but like him.

Liv had personal reasons for getting into the fight against sex-trafficking. Her twin sister had been kidnapped when they were six and had never been found. Liv had lived her life trying to find Elizabeth with no luck. She wanted to save as many little girls as she possibly could. She was a good person and frankly at times I thought she was a bit too good for Dante when he was acting the ass, but they ended up fitting nicely. The romance in this book definitely took a back seat to the launch codes and sex trafficking issues but that was as it should be. This was who Liv and Dante were and how they lived their lives so it was nice to see the relationship grown within the job.

This was a very exciting book. There is suspense and romance. Liliana Hart writes fabulous characters. I love their interaction. My only disappointment is that I want to know what happens next (right now!).

Dante revealed.

Tight prose only adds to this episode of the Gravediggers. (Lord) Dante Malcolm is front and centre, a former British Intelligence force agent and art thief extraordinaire, now an agent with Gravediggers. He is equally matched by Liv Rothschild. Sadness encompasses Liv. Her twin sister Elizabeth disappeared, taken when they we playing hooky in Harrods. No trace of Elizabeth was ever found. Liv blames herself. This effects all her actions. She is driven by her sister's disappearance. She spends her life trying to make up for that. Liv is a Detective with Interpol and is on the hunt for art thief Simon Locke, an alter ego for Dante. Of course things are complex. This is a Gravedigger's novel after all. Their paths first cross prior to Dante joining the Gravedigger's team.
It seems Liv and Dante had an intense sexual relationship that always seems to have its outlet in dark and dangerous situations. Added spice or just no time?
The international political backdrop of the novel is so today that I really had to take a step back. I don't think we'd quite reached the level of today's international angst when Hart was writing this.
Eve Winter is still her cold hard self. That woman really freaks me out. I so want to see her story, or maybe not. Can't help but wonder how she came to be.
Elaine the computer is hilarious. Her innocently matter of fact questionsI about being human and what that entails keep you shaking your head. am wondering how and if she's going to develop.
Apparently she's "the perfect union of technology and robotics... She was free to think on her own and had developed her own personality, much to the amusement of them all."
The body she going to choose when she finally has a physical manifestation if she does have one will be fascinating, and a little creepy.
A slick, many faceted and engaging thriller that holds your interest.

his is definitely my favorite because I loved the amount of back story about Dante and Olivia that we were given. I totally bought into their love story. Dante was a much more complicated character than he came across in the first two books. He was kind of mysterious and not a lot was known about him. It was nice to find out he was more than an arrogant British spy. Olivia's back story was heart breaking and it definitely shaped the woman and spy she had become. I loved these two together.

The rest of this story is intense and and action packed. The ending has a very touching scene with one of the previous couples, so keep an eye out for that one. Elaine the computer gave some really funny comic relief and added to the fun of the story. I definitely recommend this one. I can't wait to see whose story is next. _Kari

I've probably said this before but this is the best one. Funny with some smoking sex, a little mystery, and several handsome guys. I felt like I was right there with them or watching a movie. By the way this would make an awesome movie.
Liv works for Interpol and has been searching for her twin sister for twenty some years. She is paired up with MI6 agent Dante, they are looking for a thief who slips in and out without anyone knowing. What Liv doesn't know is that the thief and Dante are one and the same. But his number is up, he can either go to prison or join THE GRAVEDIGGERS. He chooses option two and goes off a building with Liv standing there.
Two years later Dante is sent to steal nuclear launch codes and runs into Liv who is looking for kidnapped girls. She gets taken back to headquarters with them to determine whether they can trust her or not. They are all sent to go undercover to an island where they think the launch codes and girls are. They must find the codes and girls before they're auctioned off.

Loved this book! This novel tells us Dante's story and his past as an exceptional thief while also working in law enforcement assigned to find the thief that is him. His past disrupted his future when Eve (of Trident/Gravediggers) paid him a visit and convinced him to join the Gravediggers. Unfortunately, this resulted in hurting Liv, the woman he loved.

Dante is an arrogant man who, while still in love with Liv, is not allowed to be with her. When he encounters her while on a job, they are both stunned, however, they are both searching for different things in the same location. What follows is a compelling story that touches on human trafficking while the Gravediggers strive to save the innocent from a potential world war.

Fans of the genre will love this book. While Dante is my least favorite Gravedigger, I still loved this book. I would give this 4.5 stars, taking off half a star for Dante's arrogance. I would have liked him so much better if he had shown more personal growth. Put this one at the top of your TBR list. The author is on my must read authors' list.

This is book 3 of the Gravediggers story and it is a very satisfying addition. You can read it as a stand alone because it gives a lot of background. Dante and Liv are the main characters in this book but past couples are present with great catch up. The Gravedigger series is an elite force of that takes undercover missions for the government. It is full of suspense and a few surprises.

Another dangerous thrilling adventure…

This is the third book in the Gravediggers series.

As the elusive team member of The Gravediggers, Dante Malcolm prefers his condo to residence on the base as it enables him to continue the double life he’d led before his forced death. A former member of Britain’s MI6, he was also the infamous international thief Simon Locke that no one could catch though many agencies tried. His current team is unaware of his duplicity, the woman who is his boss though does, and she uses his skills to the benefit of her overall operation. Sent on a private assignment to Saudi Arabia to retrieve stolen Russian launch codes he’s blindsided by the woman he’d left behind.

Life at Interpol for Detective Inspector Olivia Rothschild hasn’t been the same since she failed to capture the renowned thief who died after completing a truly spectacular heist and she learned the man she’d been bedding, the intelligence agent she was working with on the case, was also the thief. He’d been her addiction then the cause of agonizing heartbreak, his betrayal a severe lesson learned. On her own after having her hands tied after a rescue involving young children and human trafficking she followed the trail to Saudi Arabia to free more victims. She never expected she’d run into the dead man she’d loved and then grown to hate while undercover in a sultan’s palace.

The Gravediggers are short a man when they need all hands on board, the boss suspended Dante for insubordination. Did she really think Deacon would buy that story? They’ve all had their insubordinate moments with the wicked witch that owns their souls during the period of their contract. But Deacon’s now curious about what his teammate is really involved in and there are ways to gain access to classified information. Deacon’s need to know placed the team exactly where Dante and Liv needed them, in time for an interesting confession, now everyone is angry at Dante.

Two people all dressed in black having an argument while stealthily sneaking around where they weren’t supposed to be was exceedingly dangerous. But when faced with a dead man responsible for so much of her personal grief combined with the adrenaline rush of the mission and not to mention that the man still pushes her feminine buttons Liv’s anger went through the roof, Dante has a lot of explaining to do and quickly but time isn’t on their side and their only good option is working in tandem, settling things after they escape. This was a great scene with sarcastic dialogue, lots of emotions amid fast moving action and suspense, scenes like this is why this reader enjoys this series so much.

Our hero is an arrogant, extremely confident, thief who had a moral code regarding his appropriations, he’s addicted to the thrill of the challenge. He had one regret when forced to leave behind the life he’d been leading, losing Olivia. She had become a necessary part of his regimen. After crossing paths again he didn’t want to give her up. He’d had a fantastic run but it’s not the same without the woman who makes his blood burn. Can he convince the kick-ass heroine to give them another chance? Dante very much reminded this reader of the fictional character Simon Templar aka The Saint.

This was an exciting suspenseful story, a dangerous thrilling adventure with much intrigue and many elements to captivate your attention: a missing twin, Russian launch codes, human trafficking, an artificial intelligence program who learns with a delightfully amusing attitude, protagonists with explosive chemistry, deep unresolved emotions and character growth.

For two books now, there has just been something missing in this series. But with Say No More, Hart knocks it out of the park. This book absolutely blew me away in both good and bad ways. But one thing it never does is sugarcoat the ugliness hidden deep inside and I *love* that. But what I love even more is that I missed my bus stop reading this book!

If you like The Thomas Crown Affair you will love this book. If you like The Princess Bride you will probably like Simon Locke. And if you happen to remember a certain dangerous woman by the name of Marlena, there is a Marlena here too (though dangerous in a totally different way). Three very different stories that I thought of immediately while reading this book.

So what was different in this book? I'm pretty sure that the sense of sameness for Dante and Liv helped a great deal. Both are adrenaline junkies. Both come from similar backgrounds. Both have strong feelings, thoughts, and opinions. There is no power differential here. They are equals - one of the reasons they are not together when the book opens.

I loved this book. I can't recommend it more. The emotion, the intrigue, the set up, and the pay off are fantastic. Each of these books has seemed to have a sort of central theme. This one's theme is particularly dark: to win, you have to play dirty and when you play dirty there are acceptable losses. Everyone here operates in bands of grey. Sometimes, they are so grey as to be basically black. And yet, I love the dark tone of this book because it is so perfectly balanced by Liv and Dante's play.

‘Say No More’ is a story of intrigue, it was a cat and mouse game.

Liv and Danté start out on the same side, or so Liv thought. She is on the hunt for the notorious Simon Locke and Danté has signed up to help her. They were in love. It is after Simon steals a painting that Liv discovers Simon is really Danté. She doesn’t have time to process her new-found information as Danté seemingly falls to his death. What Liv doesn’t know is Danté had "die" and start working as an agent in the Grave Digger organization. His next task is to steal a nuclear device from the Sultan. Which brings him straight into the path of Liv again, because now Liv is in Dubai, hunting the Sultan because she has reason to believe he is trafficking young girls.

One thing I noticed about the book, is there was too much filler, which dragged down the plot and slowed the story down. I wished there wasn’t so much explanation and maybe, even more dialogue, something to get it moving faster. I understand the need for description and background information, but being that it is told in 3rd person, it became boring. I felt like the story was being told to me and I wasn’t able to “experience” the story. Which really was a shame, because I really liked the story line and it had a lot of potential to wow me.

So, final verdict, it was an okay read. While there were some missing elements for me to love it, I did enjoy the story.

An exciting and interesting twist to the Black Op/ex-military genre.

I was offered a review copy of The Darkest Corner (Book 1) a few months ago. I looked at it a few times but didn’t take a copy simply to avoid overloading my review list. I am kicking myself right now since I enjoyed the dynamic of this group of Gravediggers. The name comes from the fact that those hand-picked individuals who come from different military groups around the world must die in their former lives. They are injected with a serum which imitates death and after they are buried, they resuscitate and are eventually dug up to join the group. Now while the men in this group are all picked for their skills, they are not the most upstanding of men and that it one of the reasons they are picked to “die off” and join. The only problem I had is that they are all supposed to be dead but they were all using their real names. Shouldn’t they have been given a new identity once they made the team?

In this story, Lord Dante Malcolm is an agent with MI6 and he also leads a secret life as an art thief under the name Simon Locke. Now the idea for Simon Locke seems to have been taken from the Princess Bride and like the Dread Pirate Roberts, it is a name passed down from thief to thief after the current Simon decides he wants to retire, he then finds an apprentice. Dante liked the excitement of not only stealing valuable art but to be doing it while working MI6.

Sleeping with the woman at Interpol tasked with taking down Simon Locke, Inspector Olivia Rothschild, was supposed to just be for a bonus thrill, but they both fall in love. Dante is arrogant enough to think he can continue to have it all: Agent, thief and lover but it all falls down around his ears when Eve Winters, head of the Gravediggers, confronts him. She knows about Simon Locke and unless Dante dies and joins the Gravediggers, she will make sure he spends the remainder of his days behind bars.

With no other options, Dante fakes his death and joins, but he is still living a double life as his brothers-in-arms are not aware of Dante’s Simon persona but Eve makes sure to use him and his skills on special assignments. One which includes retrieving nuclear launch codes before they go on auction to the highest bidder.

Meanwhile, Liv has grieved for and hated Dante for his deception and her almost disgrace at Interpol for sleeping with the man she was supposed to be tracking down. Nowadays, Liv is working with a task force trying to take down a ring of human traffickers who abduct and sell little girls. Liv has strong feelings about this assignment because her twin sister was abducted when they were six and she has never been able to find any trace of her.

Liv and Dante’s assignments lead them to the same man and as Liv comes face to face with the man who broke her heart, accusations–and punches–are thrown about but they are forced to work together for the safety of those missing girls and the world in general. I did find it confusing that while Dante came to the bad guy’s house prepared to get through the several layers of guards and sophisticated security, Liv managed to get to the door but didn’t have any tech toys to get her past the front door or any plan to get the little girls out — so what was she planning to do if she hadn’t run into Dante right there and then? Did she think she would shadow someone inside and leave holding hands like they were on a school field trip? It was kind of stupid for a trained agent to be standing there empty handed. Dante said to himself that she must have watched the same 20/20 Special tour of the house that he did, but obviously she didn’t pay attention that the heavily guarded bad guy lair had high-tech security. Duh!

Lilliana Hart writes a very captivating group of characters and I really will have to make time to go back and read the first two stories. Even the sophisticated AI computer that they use has a fun personality as she tries to fit in with the group, showing what she has decided she will look like once a body can be created for her, and trying to flirt with Dante. I also want to find out why Axel would give her the voice of his wife (who he left behind). Is this a reminder of his lost love or punishment for having to give her up? Hmmm…I definitely want more of this series. Even their Queen Bitch leader must have an interesting story behind how she can be so cold and focused.

I am definitely in for more.

SAY NO MORE by Lillian Hart is the third novel in the Gravediggers series. A contemporary romantic suspense with science fiction elements surrounding an elite international terrorist team residing in a remote town in Texas.  This series has been a mixed bag for me, with elements I love and others that I find lacking. Having said that, I still hope we get the rest of the team's stories.

This story involves Dante Malcolm a former Britain Elite Intelligence Forces member and the notorious Simone Locke a reported thief. Hart shares his history and we learn how he and his partner, Eva Rothschild a Detective Inspector with Interpol worked to capture Locke. When his double life catches up with him, he agrees to fake his death and joins the Gravediggers leaving behind the only woman he has ever loved. Now, he is working a solo mission to retrieve highly sensitive information, and his path will cross with Eva.

I loved getting the background stories on both Eva and Dante. Dante is British, and normally the accent is enough to make me swoon, but the man is arrogant and selfish. He wants to have his cake and eat it too. The nerve...lol I did like Eva. The woman is passionate, driven and determined to seek justice for those who cannot protect themselves. I did feel their feelings were genuine and thanks to character growth Dante grew on me..but the man needed to grovel.

“It must be nice to be that self-absorbed. To never consider anyone else’s feelings. Or to use them however you see fit to get exactly what you want.”

The case was an exciting one with human trafficking, security codes, and intense action scenes. There were plenty of twists, turns, and hang-ups as they moved to close their cases. I thought the thread about the wife of the son of our villain was interesting. I had a hard time buying she wanted to stay or that Eva could let go like that. Hart did an excellent job with the trafficking issue and highlighted some of the frustrations law enforcement faces within the law.

The romance grabbed page time from a gripping suspense and delivered heat. The scene in the castle had me cracking up. I for one don't think I could have let passion get the best of me in a situation like that. I like a balance between the suspense and romance, but in this instance, I craved a more in-depth case.

I absolutely love the computer software system. Her personality and comments cracked me up. Any page time with her is welcome. We did get some page time with the other Gravediggers and learned some more information about them. I am hoping we get all of their stories. The series has continued to get stronger, and while not perfect, I do want more.

Despite not swooning for the hero, I enjoyed SAY NO MORE and would like to see at least two more books from this series. Wait, make that three. We need Eva's story!

Say No More is the third book in Liliana Hart’s Gravediggers series and it does not disappoint. I have read all of the books and can assure you that they could be read as standalones. However, you should really read them in succession in order to get the full experience and understand all of the relationships. Nonetheless, I feel like I am just saying the same thing over and over again about this series. I love it. I really love it. It’s action packed. There’s an extremely X-rated approach to the sex that goes on between the hero and the heroine so there will be a need for several cold showers. In addition, the characters have some very interesting back stories that lend credence to their actions.

In this installment, the focus is on former MI-6 agent Dante Malcolm who led a double life as an elusive thief named Simon Locke. During that time, he was very much involved with Olivia “Liv” Rothschild who was a Detective Inspector with Interpol. Together, they spent countless hours trying to bring down Simon Locke until Simon/Dante was given an offer that he literally could not refuse. That offer broke Liv’s heart and sent Dante to his “grave”. A couple of years of being a Gravedigger hasn’t made Dante forget about Liv. As far as Liv is concerned, she hasn’t forgotten about Dante either. Unfortunately for Liv, she carries several burdens. The least of which is the disappearance of her twin sister Elizabeth. The drama intensifies for all of them when a mission to retrieve nuclear launch codes intersects with the quest to locate a human trafficking ring. In true Gravediggers fashion, Dante and his team go all out to complete their mission while dealing with Dante’s past.

Dante and Liv have never been able to resist their attraction to each other. Even while chained, they manage to still satisfy their carnal desires. Together, they create enough heat to rival the Sun. Plus, they work well together as a team. Since we are talking about the Gravediggers, know that they come prepared for every mission with weapons and tech that is unmatched. James Bond would be jealous. Everything about them is over the top. Say No More is one of those books that is packed with so much excitement, it’s impossible to put it down. I sure hope there is another book coming. All of the Gravediggers deserve to have their stories told.

Say No More is book three in Liliana Hart’s Gravediggers series. The Gravediggers are a team of elite special ops who fight crime while flying under the radar of, well, everyone. You see, they are dead. At least their loved ones think they are dead. Each member went through a process that faked their deaths and then were brought back to life with the stipulation that they are under contract to the Gravediggers team. In this book the assignment is to recover launch codes before they land in the wrong hands. Another assignment works into this one because the same people involved with the codes are also human traffickers. Really shady, disgusting characters. I say all that to alert any readers who just can’t read about that.

Liliana Hart’s principal characters are Dante and Liv – and they share a past that comes back to haunt them and may just be their undoing. Their assignment takes the team to Dubai and the Virgin Islands which make for glamorous settings with the creepy trafficking plot line woven through. Despite that factor I really enjoyed the fast paced action of the team as they worked to accomplish their goals. There are still a couple of Gravediggers who haven’t come to the forefront yet so I’m hoping there will be more books in the series.

Man, I got to say I did not think this book could beat the second one in the series, Gone To Dust, but damn! This book was fantastic. It was way better than the first one and the second one. It had me on the edge of my seat from page one. This series is definitely one of those that gets better and better with each one, like a fine wine or aged to perfection. Ahhh magnificent! Man o Man, all I have to say is ohhh that Dante is a sexy beast!

In this book it tells Dante’s story. Once an MI6 agent who led a double life, died and became a Gravedigger, leaving the only woman who could make his heart beat. Liv, an agent with Interpol who has lost the man she loved and been betrayed all in one night, is on a mission to find her sister who was taken at the age of 6. When some nuclear codes are taken and put on the auction block, Liv and Dante’s paths cross again. She is stumped, hurt and angry as to how Dante is alive and well. Will Dante be able to complete his mission? Or will he be thrown off by the sexy Liv? Can Liv fight through the pain and find her sister, before Eve takes her out for knowing too much?

This book is an action packed adventure from page one. I mean this book is a definite thriller. I was in love with Dante and Liv’s story. They have such a strong chemistry. I love earning why Dante acts the way he does and his deepest darkest secrets. Liv is lovely. She is such a beautiful person and wears her heart on her sleeve. She has such strength and determination. I love how the Gravediggers have each others back, even when they are kept in the dark. True brothers. Liliana Hart sure does know how to tell a story, keeping her audience captivated with her lovely characters. I am enjoying watching all the characters lives unfold one story at a time. I think you will too. If you have not started this series, then you need to stop reading this blog and go out and buy the books, starting with book one The Darkest Corner. I promise you will not be disappointed one bit.

I have read the previous two books in this series and I have to say that I like this one the best.

Characters that have been in the previous novels are more fleshed out in this one, there is a lot of witty banter in the dialogue and the child trafficking storyline is a seriously gripping one.

While these books can be read as standalones, already knowing some of the background/smaller characters is helpful to the reader, explaining some of the actions and attitudes of the main characters. Part of my enjoyment of this novel was seeing those characters, such as Eve, develop into more of a "real" person.

the mysterious dante malcolm leads up say no more, the third book in the gravediggers series. unlike deacon and elias, dante has held himself apart from the team even as he is clearly a vital part of it. the reasons for this become clear early on in the novel.

dante has special skills, he was an mi6 agent, but also a thief in his previous life. so part of his role within the gravediggers team is also to run side missions for their boss, eve. the thing is, dante's past life is still very much alive for him. giving up his career, both legitimate and illegitimate was one thing, but it was giving up the great love of his life that still haunts him.

olivia rothschild is no stranger to tragedy and loss. losing dante, someone who had lied and betrayed her was one thing. another was losing her identical twin sister, who was kidnapped when they were 6 and was never recovered. liv has made it her career to find her sister, joining interpol right out of school, and when dante's betrayal cast a pall on her career it was more than his lies that she found unforgivable. but when a human trafficking case puts her on a collision course with dante's latest side project for eve. all the secrets dante has been keeping are about to come out into the open.

i liked dante and liv's story, its a true second chance at love romance with a good amount of suspense added in. the one issue i had was that there was a lot of setup about who dante was and how he and liv got together, but not enough time was spent on reconciliation. not between liv and dante or dante and his team members. things ended where i hoped they would, so it's fine. but i think that one thing the darkest corner did that worked so well was set up this underlying tension between eve and the gravediggers and what the mission is truly. and while there is still some of that, the individual suspense plot gets more airtime that the suspense plot that overarches the series. and that's fine, it's just that i think the first book did a better job of balancing this than the subsequent books have, and i hope that the next books—i'm assuming levi and axel will get their own stories—will balance it better. i think it's also because i like the way the team works together, and even though they finally got there in this one, there is still residual tension from dante's revelations that aren't fully dealt with and they were all separated into different pairings. anyway, i like the gravediggers, i want to see more of them.
