Didn't finish the first, and so didn't pick up the second. Still like the premise, even if I wasn't drawn in.

I appreciate the opportunity to review. Sorry for the long delay in feedback. I'm working on clearing out my Netgalley backlog. I am DNF'ing all books that just don't work within the first 50-100 pages. Trying to find the joy in reading again by going through the hundreds of abandoned books here.

The Girl Who Saved Ghosts by K.C. Tansley.
After a summer spent in a haunted castle—a summer in which she traveled through time to solve a murder mystery—Kat is looking forward to a totally normal senior year at McTernan Academy. Then the ghost of a little girl appears and begs Kat for help, and more unquiet apparitions follow. All of them are terrified by the Dark One, and it soon becomes clear that that this evil force wants Kat dead.
Really enjoyed this book. Gripping. 5*.

Kat Langley is a senior in high school, but she also has a secret. She can see ghosts and do magic, and as the Langley heir, she’s got a lot of responsibility. The ghost of a young girl comes to her asking for help, and Kat finds out an ominous presence called The Dark One is after her. She and her friend Evan, the Kingsley heir, travel to her family estate to learn more about their responsibilities and to try to track down the Kingsley dagger. A time travel trip to the past to retrieve it proves dangerous, but if they die in the past, they die in the present as well.

This was the second book in the series but the first that I read, and I really enjoyed it! It was a little confusing because I hadn’t read the first one, but I was able to piece together the info about Kat’s powers and responsibilities and the four families for the most part. The plot was exciting and fast-paced, although some of the details kept getting rehashed, which got a bit repetitive. But the characters were good, the story was intriguing, and it was pretty clean. Just some mild language. I’ll definitely be checking out the rest of the series (starting with the first book to fill in whatever pieces I’m still missing of the overall plot). Thanks to NetGalley for the free ebook.

“The Girl Who Saved Ghosts”, K.C. Tansley’s second instalment to “The Unbelieveables”, is a gem.
Our lovely protagonist, Kat, is as fabulous as we remember her. We get to see her grow even further and develop her relationships with her relatives. This leads to some pretty interesting and emotional scenes. Kat is at times wild but a very headstrong and dedicated heroine.
Additionally, the time-travel aspects are well written and is handled in a marvellous way. It goes on to discuss the potential repercussions of time-travel and how our heroes must proceed. Tansley mixes time-travel, mystery, history, and romance very well.

A copy of the book was provided by the publisher in return for an honest review.

This book was cool to me because of the ghost aspect and the traveling in time. It really kept me on the edge of my seat. I love how the mystery of the ghost where built up. I honestly can’t wait to read more books by this author

I find myself really enjoying this book, and I wish book 3 were available immediately, because I just want to continue the story.

I much preferred this book to book 1, and I really like the developing relationship between Kat and Evan. The unfortunate side effect of this book lasting three weeks with Kat in Dumbarton, is that the side characters like Seth and Morgan aren’t present, and it just reinforces this lack of interest that I have for them.

I love the aspect of Kat (and Evan) going back into the past and trying to change things. I do find that the characters in the past are generally more interesting that the ones in the present and I did find myself really feeling for Ellie while reading.

And finally, we know more about the connection between the four families. This was probably the most interesting aspect that I wanted to know about coming out of book one, so I’m pretty happy with this book.

Felt like meeting up with new 'old' friends. Back with Kat, Evan and the gang, all you need now is a bus outside and a big Great Dane!
great storytelling. Looking forward to the next one and more of the story to unravel.
Thanks to Netgalley for my copy.

Searching for help, Kat leaves school for the ancestral home she’s only just discovered. Her friend Evan, whose family is joined to her own by an arcane history, accompanies her. With the assistance of her eccentric great aunts and a loyal family ghost, Kat soon learns that she and Evan can only fix the present by traveling into the past.
As Kat and Evan make their way through nineteenth-century Vienna, the Dark One stalks them, and Kat must decide what she’s willing to sacrifice to save a ghost.

I have to say after reading the first book I was unsure if I would love this book, I knew I would like it but not sure about love. In saying that I was so invested with Kat and Evan this time around. I am not sure if it was the writing or knowing the characters better but I loved this book so much more than the first.

Seeing Kat face another challenge showed yet again how strong her character is when push comes to shove. I have to admit when reading this book my heart hurt for her with everything she has gone through and will go through.

Evan was so much more loveable in this book than the first. He stood by Kat throughout so much in this book and that made me love him even more.

Now the important part Kat and Evan together.... their chemistry is so strong and I wish they would hurry up and act on their feelings (I love a good romance story). I hope if there are future books which I hope there is they have a happy ever after.

The side characters added so much to this book and I loved meeting new characters/family members.

This book was just an amazing read and I ended up giving it 4 out of 5 stars and I really hope a new book comes out soon or at least comes out. I am now invested in this story and need to know how it ends.

DISCLOSURE OF MATERIAL CONNECTION: I have a material connection because I received a review copy for free from Netgalley and the publisher.

Kat Langley is exhausted. Ghosts are visiting her day and night for her to assist with their reckoning. Kat can help them leave the earth and be at peace, but physically and mentally it is taking a toll on her.

It might seem like a tough job for a high school girl, but not as tough as time traveling and fighting evil last year. Unfortunately, this year will bring more challenges than ever before, not the least of which is traveling to Dumbarton, her father’s ancestral home, to learn more about her powers. But more importantly to Kat, returning to the home of her father’s family she may meet the man she has longed for all of her life. She needs to know why he left her as an infant. Finding out more about becoming the Langley heir in the process, just might help Kat figure out why she is the chosen one.

Unbeknownst to Kat, she will be called upon to save not only her family, but the future of the three other families that the Langleys have been intertwined with for centuries. Forces that are stronger than Kat will require more magic than she can summon alone, but she must try or they will all perish.

Tansley conjures up a fabulous tale of good and evil mixed with magic and danger. Her characters both dead and alive are compelling and interesting. Jumping into a different century adds a complexity that is often missing in YA novels. The main plot as well as the subplots of romance and family issues rounds out the novel in a satisfying way.

This is the first novel I’ve read in the series, and it did take a chapter or two for me to get up to speed on the back story. I would suggest reading the first in the series, The Girl Who Ignored Ghosts to avoid any confusion. That being said, I enjoyed it.

I highly recommend this series to anyone who loved Harry Potter. It is a captivating story for both YA and adults.

Loved it! I am really enjoying this series. The story continues to reel me in with a different mystery this time and even more magic. I felt like it was over too quickly. I continue to love Kat as a character. I LOVE when the main female character is written so realistic, smart and identifiable. Either they tend to be written as annoying or unrealistically perfect and powerful, Kat is a main character that I think most teenage girls would like and identify with. While I ship two of the characters immensely, I also enjoy that the author focuses on them building trust and a friendship and they both learn more about their roles and legacies in this book mystery. There is no cursing or risky topics so, aside from historical murder, its wholesome and appropriate for any reader.

It is a second book in The Unbelievables series, where our young Kat uses her powers to help ghosts instead of ignoring them. As in a first book she gets in to a much trouble and has to go to the past to fix some things. That is my brief synopsis of this book.
Now. lets see what I actually thought about this book. Well, I tried to like it, I really did, but the second book just fell flat on it's face in my opinion. I remember reading first book and really enjoying it, but with this one I struggled to get in to. It took me ages to finish it and even to read it, I had to force myself to pick it up. This story was unbelievable boring and it seems like nothing happens until around 70% of the book. And then when things starts to escalate the ending is rushed and just plain anticlimactic.
Also, there is no much to say about the characters. This time Kat seemed to be very annoying and whiny. There where plenty of times where I had to roll my eyes, when she did something stupid.
To be honest I don't know if I continue with the rest of the series.

I just happened to find The Girl Who Saved Ghosts while searching for some new books to read and I found myself instantly intrigued by this book's synopsis. So much so that I new I had to read it!

This book is full of magic, time travel, one budding romance, one ghostly romance, lots of action/adventure and seat of your pants drama. The story flows well and the main characters are captivating, engaging and realistic. While this book is part of a series, it can be read as a stand alone book as well. The author does a good job of including just enough facts from book 1 to help the reader "catch up" in book 2. It also leaves the reader wanting to read book one as well. {Guess that explains why as soon as I finished this book I went and bought a copy of the first book, The Girl Who Ignored Ghosts.}

Overall, I really enjoyed reading The Girl Who Saved Ghosts and I highly recommend it ~ 4.5 stars!

I received this book for free. A favorable review was not required and all views expressed are my own. Thank you to Ms. Tansley, Beckett Publishing Group and Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this book.

I enjoy The Girl Who Saved Ghosts. It was a fun fast read. I like the travel back in time, but the family and training of magic was my favorite part of this story. Kat and Evan felt more solid and more on the same page. The relationships between Kat and her Dad made this storyline feel fuller and more complete. The plot flowed quicker than what book one did. I also enjoyed that there was more of the story after they traveled back in time. Overall, this is a strong book two that’s a great read!!

I received a free ecopy of this book in return for an honest review. Many thanks to Netgalley and and Beckett Publishing Group for the opportunity.

Sometimes, when you read a book you enjoy, you just have to race through the sequel, and then curse the fact that book 3 isn’t out yet. Having read The Girl Who Ignored Ghosts at New Year and was delighted that Beckett Publishing let me read book 2, The Girl Who Saved Ghosts.

Back at school, Kat is no longer ignoring ghosts. In fact they are quite literally queuing up at her door to ask for help. Kat’s health is suffering. Her new found Langley relatives ask her to come stay at the family stronghold for protective training. Evan once again accompanies her, but they are attacked on the way. It soon becomes clear that that a now weakened Kat, and Evan must once again go back in time and Kat is determined to solve another family mystery along the way, in spite of the danger this puts them both in.

This book was similar enough to the first to feel like I was on familiar ground, but with a neat twist. Kat’s story is progressing nicely though there are still many questions about the supernaturally bound relationship between these four families, and there is an increasing threat from an, as yet not understood, dark force. There are enough questions here to keep the series going. I felt though, that Kat and Evan’s relationship was not really progressing. They have a supernatural connection but not enough is happening between them in the real world. Also, I felt that Kat should be exhibiting more anger towards her parents. These two factors would give her character greater emotional depth. It feels like Evan is becoming a bit of a two dimensional character, there to be Kat’s ultimate saviour on these adventures. I missed Kat’s friend’s Morgan, in this book, and Seth is now a dark unknown that I thought would come into this.

Altogether I felt a little disappointed there wasn’t more progress on the big arc story of finding out the full truth of this four family alliance but it was still a great read.

Dnf at 26%. I'm just not into it. I just about managed with the first book but this one fails to grab me. It'll perhaps be better suited to those who are avid readers of mystery and paranormal genres but it all fell a little flat for me.

The Girl Who Saved Ghosts is there heart throbbing second book in the Unbelievables series. I found that I enjoyed this book even more than the first one. While Kat's friends Morgan and Seth play a lesser role in this sequel Evan really steps up as Kat's confidant. The chemistry between Kat and Evan grows in this sequel and you really see the way that Evan and Kat are beginning to really care about one another. As their bond deepens the danger around them grow. I loved learning about the Langley Legacy and the new dangers that are coming for Kat. I enjoyed this book even more than the first one. I cannot wait for the third book in the series to come out.

This is second book, in this series. And in this book she is helping the ghost instead of ignoring them all the time. But can she help them and her self before it’s to late, because someone called the dark one wants to kill her.

This books a bit better then the first one,I think. Because it was more fast paced then I he first, and more things happened in it make it more interesting.

Kat is looking forward to her senior year, but after a frightening event the previous summer, she finds herself surrounded by ghosts asking for her help, interfering with her studies and her sleep. Desperate to learn more about her absent father’s family, and her role in the universe, she and her friend Evan travel to Dumbarton by invitation of her great-aunts in hopes of solving the mystery.

I’m a huge time travel fan, and I was poised for the grand adventure, however…I feel as though I started out missing a great deal by not reading the first book in this series. IMO, this is not a stand-alone. At the very beginning, Kat is conversing with a ghost, but I had no clue as to how she developed this ability. The vague references to something that happened over the summer didn’t clue me in. I think it’s a good middle school read, and should be a huge hit in classroom libraries, but I wasn’t sold on it.
