I usually LOVE Lori Copeland's books, but Love Blooms in Winter was disappointing to me. While I enjoyed reading Love Blooms in Winter, so much of it seemed dull and felt like a rehash of another story.

The only character I liked at all was Tom and at times even he was annoying.

Jake has been Mae's beau for SIX YEARS and seems to be in no hurry to make a commitment with her. I couldn't believe how accepting Mae was of this and of how Jake treated her when she did something of which he didn't approve. My dislike of him steadily grew until when near the end of the book he did something I thought was horrible. Then to my surprise barely ten pages later his whole personality seemed to change and I wondered who this person was. I thought it was too out of character for him to be SO different than he was throughout the whole book.

I had an inkling immediately who Tom was going to be in relationship to Pauline - and I was right! I was actually surprised that it took everybody so long to figure it out.

Overall, I found Love Blooms in Winter to be a mediocre story, enjoyable, but mediocre. If you have a lot of books on your TBR pile, this is not one I would read first.
