Nooooooo! Oh Sawyer Bennett how I love thee...but...sadly this was not her best! I love this series and have devoured all of the books in it thus far. I don't know what happened in Lucas's story but I just did not connect with it and had such a hard time finishing it. Maybe it was that the H and h are thrown together so quickly and babies are made before the book was warm in my hands but I just lost interest so fast. Where was the chemistry and passion and anticipation??? Where was the witty banter and heartwarming romance that this author is so famous for. I will never give up on this author of series but have super high hopes for her next addition (Van) to the series.

This is book 8 and still the stories are fresh. Lucas is enjoying his bachelorhood and all the perks of being a NFL star. He is young, handsome and charming. Stephanie is a museum curator with some series commitment issues. When they meet, they think its a one night stand and move on. However, the was a repercussion for the fun night. Stephanie is pregnant. Lucas has to refocus and get his priorities in order. He quickly goes all in. Stephanie is the one who holds back. The roles are reversed in this story. Stephanie is the one who wants to keep everything casual and Lucas wants more. An interesting twist and a great story. Lucas was so sweet during the pregnancy that he makes it difficult for Stephanie to keep it casual. Panic sets it, words are said and feelings get in the way. Stephanie and Lucas had a rocky road to HEA. In the end, it was all worth it.

I hadn't read a Cold Fury book in a while and it was great to get back to this world. I love this series and can't wait for the next book.

Lucas and Stephanie's lives change after one hot night. They both weren't ready or expecting for what happens next.

Stephanie has lived such an isolated life that she doesn't know what it's like to have friends and people who love her. Therefore, she doesn't know what it's like to love someone else. She's always made sure to take care of herself. Lucas is able to take care of himself, but he knows he is able to do that because he was raised by a loving family and knows he has friends and family he can turn to when he needs help.

Stephanie and Lucas quickly find they really need each other. Lucas is the dependable person for Stephanie, Stephanie is the irresistible person to Lucas. They both have walls built up around their hearts and their hesitant to break them down for each other. Are they willing to continue on without each other to save themselves, or will they give in to save each other? What brought them together isn't necessarily what keeps them together. Ultimately, they need to decide if they want to be together.

Good addition to the Cold Fury series! The best parts are when you get an update on the players you've already read about.

There was a lot of one-night stands in here, mostly on the hero's side. I wasn't a fan of how Lucas and Stephanie met, had their one-night stand and then parted ways afterwards. I don't feel the couple paired well together and I didn't like what happened in the story. It wasn't written badly, this book just wasn't for me. It does, however, have a very beautiful cover.

This was one of those books where I was immediately all in because there was such a fantastic start to the story. I loved meeting Lucas and Stephanie and I was excited for everything to play out and get to know them. I loved learning all their ins and outs, found it entertaining to read, and enjoyed it all.

Lucas and Stephanie were so fun and sweet. I loved their playfulness and flirting and their hot sexy times. I liked the situation that was presented to these two thanks to the little present Lucas left behind. I thought Lucas was amazing. I loved how patient and caring he was. I liked Stephanie a lot as well, she was strong and independent but she was also slightly frustrating and stubborn. I loved learning her history and got why she was the way she was, but I couldn't wait for her to get to her moment of clarity.

I thought the writing was great and I enjoyed all the details and development. Lucas and Stephanie share a lot of ups and downs, a bit of drama, and I could feel that tension and emotion between them. Loved the first half, the second half was good but Stephanie was stressing me and tensions ran high and it started to feel a bit drawn out because of it. I was dying for my HEA! I like how it ended but it wrapped up a bit to quickly for me.

As with every other book, I loved seeing the Cold Fury players and their significant others woven into the current story. It’s a great added element. I really liked meeting some new players as well. I'm extremely curious about Van and Simone and am excited for their story.

This was an awesome, entertaining read full of ups and downs, tension, emotion, hotness, and love. All in all it was a great read and a wonderful addition to the Cold Fury series.

i received an advance copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

I haven't read any of the other books in this series which may have made this one more exciting. I just couldn't get attached to the prickly heroine or oh-so-"charming" hockey player. I might be over romance novels at the moment.

I love this series, Alex still has my heart but Luc is just as amazing. What began at a one night stand, became a life changer. This amazing sports romance is fast-paced, character driven and hot enough to melt the ice.

I enjoy everything Sawyer Bennett writes and she has become one of my favorite authors. This is the eighth book the Cold Fury Hockey series and each story centers on a different hockey player on the Cold Fury hockey team. I love these fun, sweet and sexy stories about hot hockey players.

Lucas Fournier meets Stephanie Frazier at a fundraiser and their one night stand becomes more when Stephanie discovers she is pregnant. Of course, they are both surprised about this unexpected turn of events and the story chronicles how they deal with the situation.

Lucas is one the newest members on the Cold Fury team. He comes from a close knit, wonderful family and he is a down to earth, nice guy. When he first learns he is to become a father he is scared and worried. He isn't ready to have a child but he knows he has no other choice and needs to make the best of a bad situation.

Even though Lucas is nice, thoughtful, caring and truly wants help her, Stephanie is afraid to let down her guard and trust him. She tries to resist him and keep her distance but finds it harder and harder. Stephanie does not have a close relationship with her parents. They have always been too busy to spend time with her and have never been caring or loving. Because of this, Stephanie has never learned how to open up to anyone and is uncomfortable accepting help. She has always been on her own and is closed off and doesn't trust easily. I have to admit, at times, Stephanie annoyed me. She is too cautious and afraid to give Lucas a chance. She would rather be safe and alone than put herself out there and get hurt.

Due to their upbringing, Lucas and Stephanie deal with everything from different perspectives. I enjoyed seeing Lucas and Stephanie’s relationship develop over the course of the book. Stephanie never expects anything from Lucas and he keeps surprising her with his thoughtfulness. I enjoyed the story and the characters.

Lucas' story was a bit frustrating at times, both because Stephanie was so closed off, and because it stopped rather abruptly - only to go straight to a kind of epilogue including Van rather than either Lucas or Stephanie.

Lucas was a story I had really looked forward to, so it might be that my expectations were a bit high. Cold Fury Hockey is one of my favorite series, and Bennett usually manages to sweep me off my feet immediately. The romance here was quite unconventional, because the two protagonists met at a party and agreed to a no strings hot night of sex. Which is all in good fun until there is a condom malfuntion...

While I absolutely ADORED Lucas, the story itself left me wanting. The Cold Fury series is one my favorite hockey romance series' and I have truly enjoyed each installment, however, there was something about this one that missed the mark. A good overall read and a great revisit to the hot, sexy world of hockey players and the women who fall in love with them. Bring on VAN!

And here we have another swoony, sexy hockey romance. This one is about Lucas and museum curator Stephanie. The two met at a gala where Stephanie was working. Lucas is young – he has no interest in a long-term relationship, so when he met Stephanie he was looking for a good time. The two flirted, sparks fly - a few drinks later Lucas and Stephanie had an unforgettable one-night stand. Lucas went back to winning hockey without a care in the world, but four weeks later Stephanie found Lucas to deliver a surprise new to him. Lucas is immediately knocked on his a** because he realizes his life is about to change forever.

I have to say Lucas surprised me – he really stepped up to the plate and fulfilled his obligations. He is caring, sweet, thoughtful, charming and quite a swoony hero. Stephanie’s life is in a bit more disarray. Stephanie grew up wealthy but with uncaring, unloving, and hands-off parents. Stephanie is lonely and a lost soul. She has no family or friends around and with her childhood past she is always guarded heart. She may come off as cold but I can certainly understand her reasons. I love friends-to-lovers romance and I enjoy their relationship - flirty, sweet, steamy but also turbulent, at times due to their differences. I enjoyed all the secondary characters – members of the Cold Fury Hockey. Over all, this is a great short story -- a fun, entertaining read. I am looking forward to a story in Van – the grumpy loner. I love Sawyer Bennett’s writing - any genres … her stories always make me smile and gooey inside

I'm convinced that Sawyer Bennett isn't capable of writing a book I won't like. Whether it's a sexy, swoon worthy hockey player or an executive in a three piece suit that enjoys the luxury of a private sex club, I love them all.

Lucas stole my heart and left me in a puddle of sweet, thoughtful, charming goo. When life throws him the ultimate curve ball he doesn't let it slow him down. I loved the natural progression of the relationship he has with Stephanie. I really connected with these two and I enjoyed watching them grow and change together.

Overall, Lucas is a fun, entertaining read that pulled at my heartstrings. I always love seeing the other members of the Cold Fury and the banter that they bring. I hope this series continues and I can't wait for the next book.

I love stories where characters deal with adult situations and act like adults, no stupid eye rolling misunderstandings, no uber angst, just grown ass adults acting like grown ass adults! Lucas is a grown ass adult. Stephanie is a grown ass adult. Thank you, Sawyer Bennett for this story. I enjoyed it. I found it believable and I found it to be very romantic.

Lucas is a sexy hockey romance. Lucas may be on Carolina Cold Fury with his brother, Max, but that doesn't mean he wants the same things Max does - marriage, babies and all that commitment. That's why when he meets a hot redhead named Stephanie, and they indulge in a sexy one night stand, he doesn't expect anything to come of it. But when they cross paths again, they can't seem to keep their hands off each other, and soon start a FWB relationship. But, while it may have started out as a FWB situation, will it stay that way when they, especially Lucas, start realizing they have inconvenient feelings for each other?

And when something big, life changingly big, drastically changes their course, how will they fare? Will the playboy of the Carolina Cold Fury make his move or will Stephanie ice him out? I loved Lucas, well, with the exception of his one huge screw up. And when I say screw up, I mean mean, nasty, some would say unforgivably cruel, screw up. But, he's human and I can forgive him for his lash out. The question though, was if Stephanie could forgive him.

Stephanie was a little harder for me to connect with than Lucas. She was really frustrating. She pushed him away so much that I don't know how he didn't get whiplash from it. But, considering her upbringing, I was able to understand, not like, but understand, why she acted the way she acted. She was still incredibly frustrating, but at least I could understand where she was coming from. But my man Lucas was head over heels for her, so she gets a big pass on that basis alone.

If you like your sports romances sexy, and seeing the playboy brought to his knees, 1 click Lucas today!

I love this series, catching up with old characters in the earlier books was awesome.

Lucas Fournier plays hockey for the Carolina Cold Fury team, his life is hockey, picking up woman, and having fun. One night at a charity benefit held at a museum, he meets a beautiful woman that is the curator, Stephanie Frazier. They flirt a bit and they leave, go to a bar for a few drinks, then head back to her place. Their chemistry is off the charts, after a wild night together, they agree it was fun and part ways.

Stephanie Frazier had a terrible childhood, she grew up surrounded by wealth, but not love. Her parents constantly told her that she was an accident, and wasn't wanted. That made Stephanie think that she was unlovable and she put up walls around herself. She was sent away to boarding school and then for college she went where she wanted to go; far away from home. The only person that she has ever trusted is herself.

Four weeks after being with Lucas, Stephanie gets a surprise of her own, when she tells Lucas he doesn't believe her. Actually he accuses her that it's not his, and wants a paternity test. She agrees and walks away. Stephanie was prepared to raise the baby all by herself.

Will this playboy change his ways to be a father? Can Stephanie let her guard down and let Lucas in and be apart of her baby's life?

A must read!!
