Goal! Sawyer Bennett has captured me again with another winner of a romance with Lucas. A Cold Fury Hockey Novel. She has a way of sucking me in, Every Single Time. The story. The heat. The love. The dialog and Sexy times scenes are flawless. I never thought I would like hockey guys. But, um, I do now. Sweet, sexy and entertaining I had a hard time putting this down.
What starts out as a passionate, one night stand, leads to a surprise pregnancy that changes Stephanie Frazier's and Lucas Fournier's lives. These two have a lot to figure out, in the beginning of their new relationship. But the one thing they do have between them is fantastic sexual chemistry and an appetite for each other.
As a new NHL professional hockey player Lucas prides himself on his sexual prowess and is known for his frequent flings. So I was expecting this player of a man, but who I got was so incredibly kind, generous with a deep love for his family and a passion for his job. I loved his character development and growth throughout the story. Watching his struggle with these new circumstances was so endearing as his feelings for Stephanie developed.
Stephanie is a confident, bold and ambitious woman, but when it comes to relationships she struggles. Raised by a nanny, since her parents were too consumed by their jobs and their own lives, she has always felt unloved and unwanted. She worries if she will be able to provide a loving and family atmosphere for her child.
Well of course I'm not going to tell you the outcome, because you will have to read this book to find out what happens! But I will say Lucas is To Die For! Readers who love Sawyer Bennett, love romance, enjoy a fun read with melt your heart men, should pick up this book. I am a forever Sawyer Bennett fan and look forward to reading whatever she has in store for us next.

Lucas Fournier has no intention of making anything in his life more important than hockey. The chance to play professionally alongside his brother, and chase a Stanley Cup is not something he is going to let anything jeopardize.

Stephanie Frazier is strong, independent, and stands on her own. When she meets Lucas at a fundraiser, she figures she is in for a night of fun. What neither counts on is what happens when one night leads to consequences that mean more time together.

Stephanie has such a hard time opening up to people, and no wonder. Her upbringing was privileged but horrific in it’s own way. She did the best she could with what she knew, but was so afraid of letting people in that she came across as cold and heartless. There were times her walls made it hard to like her, especially when she was using them against Lucas. But knowing the why behind her actions definitely helped to make me more sympathetic towards her, even in her most defensive times.

Lucas was always a gentleman. Even as Stephanie rocks him with unexpected news, he is considerate and caring in his reactions. He isn’t always perfect, and his rougher moments make his all the more real, but he is one of those characters that learns from mistakes and does his best to not make the same mistake twice.

Lucas’s family support is a vast difference from Stephanie’s, and seeing the two family’s reactions to their news demonstrates everything that is the basis for these two characters. I loved the way Lucas’ family welcomed Stephanie, but also challenged her at every step to protect Lucas.

I enjoyed this story as I have all the Cold Fury books before it. This is such a fun family to return to. As Lucas is Max’s little brother, Max and Jules are in the wings often, but so is Lucas’s teammate and roommate, Van. I enjoyed getting to see a little more of Van through Lucas and Stephanie’s eyes, and his darkness is very different than other Cold Fury characters we’ve seen. I’m interested in his story, coming up next, and the fireworks that are sure to explode.

I was gifted a copy in exchange for an honest review.

Sawyer Bennett’s Cold Fury Hockey series is on a winning streak with book eight, LUCAS. Luc is the younger brother of Cold Fury Hockey goalie, Max Fournier (book six). Luc was recently traded to the Fury. He meets museum curator, Stephanie Frazier, at a gala and has a one-night stand with her, but unexpected circumstances bring them back together. This contemporary sports romance is suitable for adult audiences. The story takes place in Raleigh, North Carolina.

I love that Lucas was traded to the Cold Fury and that Max and Luc could play professional hockey together. Max is a great character, so I enjoyed reading more about him and getting to know Luc and their sister, Simone. The Fournier’s are a wonderful family, the opposite of Stephanie’s family. Her parents are something else. It’s amazing she is well adjusted as she is. I’m glad she had Hilda when she was growing up. Her past causes a lot of emotional issues for her.

Sawyer Bennett does a fantastic job with her character development. Lucas is a remarkable guy. He is insightful and thoughtful (most of the time). He is good at expressing himself. Family is important to him. He grows up faster than he was intending. Stephanie is smart and fun. She has always relied on herself and finds it difficult to open-up to others. She doesn’t have any close friends. She has always felt unworthy. She doesn’t know what it is like to have a true family. Lucas and Stephy are good for each other. They make each other better people. They have amazing chemistry. They face multiple obstacles and become stronger for it.

I enjoyed the plot. LUCAS was skillfully written and believable. The story was interesting from start to finish. I loved the characters and didn’t want their story to end. Fortunately, we get to her Lucas’ sister Simone and his roommate, Van Turner story next. I cannot wait for book nine, VAN, expected to be released on November 28, 2017. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Lucas is the eighth book in Sawyer Bennett's contemporary sports series, Cold Fury Hockey, and it is another sexy, fun and entertaining addition to this excellent hockey-centric series. Lucas and Stephanie meet one night, and their chemistry is through the roof. They share a mind-blowing night together, but both are happy to go their own ways and keep it at one night. Neither want a relationship, but they are soon shocked to discover they’ll permanently be in each other’s lives because Stephanie is pregnant.

Both are shocked and struggle to reconcile with life changing event. While Stephanie has accepted and is cautiously happy about becoming mother, she still doesn’t want a romantic relationship with Lucas, although their attraction is still there and intense. Lucas is adorable when he commits himself to his future child, and he wants Stephanie to consider them having a relationship. Their relationship evolves slowly and sweetly punctuated by steamy interludes, and Lucas is another well-rounded and thoroughly enjoyable romance from Sawyer Bennett. I can’t wait for the next book!

Oh Lucas, Oh Lucas, Oh my Lucas! He is just perfect. He wants it all and he is perfect, although maybe he had some growing up to do and man did he do it quickly. That is what happens when a one-night stand turns into a baby! Stephanie Frazier is definitely NOT mother material. She has no foundation since the way she grew up didn't provide her with one and her self esteem is at an all time low. She was totally annoying to me but I was really proud of her for immediately seeking out Lucas and involving him and keeping him involved even if she pushed him away at every turn. This would have been a 5-star for me if she could have turned around just a little sooner or had a little more spunk but she really wore on my nerves.

I do, however, recommend this one and definitely am looking forward to the next one!

5 Getting What You Thought You Never Deserved Stars!!!

Oh Sawyer Bennett, you've written a character that made my heart truly weep. Stephanie is a woman that doesn't know how to feel anything and when the totally unexpected repercussion of her one night with Cold Fury superstar Lucas Fournier, her world is turned asunder!

Let's talk about my love for Luc...he's a man that is handsome, sexy, a superb hockey player, has a family that he loves and supports and they do the same in return. So when he decides that he's going to support Stephanie and this life they've created my heart sang a happy song.

What neither of them expected was the feelings outside of a "friends with benefits" understanding that arise given all the time they spend together. However, Stephanie is a loner and for a very good reason and when you find out what it is, you too will be stunned into silence and a crack will form in your heart.

Along the way to an ending that had me shedding a little tear while also having the biggest smile on my face, our H/h are taking advantage of the fact that they can do the horizontal mambo totally unencumbered because, hey, they've got no worries in that department, we find out they're both talkers and love to get down and dirty. There's also some drama that goes on between Luc and Steffy highlighting the differences in how they approach life and what they're capable of feeling, or not feeling.

We also get to spend time with other Cold Fury characters, namely Max and Jules, Simone, Max and Luc's younger sister who has quite the surprise and Van, Max's roommate who we're getting in the next Cold Fury book and it's gonna be doozy thanks to a little tidbit at the very end!

Overall, this is a perfect next book in a series that I love and adore and I consumed it in one sitting. Luc and Stephanie grabbed me, held on tight and didn't let me go and this is all due to the masterful storytelling that Sawyer Bennett has perfected.

Keep all the hockey boys coming! This one might have been my favorite of all 8 of them this far! Lucas was seriously great! He and Stephanie just seemed so perfect together through the whole book! It always happens this way… boy and girl meet, they agree… let’s just have fun, no love, no strings. It never goes right and I LOVE that!! I really liked how well they worked together. Stephanie had some issues with relationships and commitment (love the normal role reversal there). Lucas was such a good guy, being there for her all the time! That totally won me over! I adored him!

I received an ARC of this series with the hope that I will leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that... my opinions.

I thought Max was swoony enough but his younger brother, Lucas, showed that he was cut from the same cloth! Adored him!

Lucas is gorgeous, talented, and can have a different woman every night of the week, if he so desired. He's young and not ready for any kind of commitment - maybe sometime in his future he'd like a wife, kids and the whole white-picket-fence thing but, right now, hockey comes first.

Stephanie is still finding herself. She's in a job that she never planned for and she's not in a position for any kind of commitment. Transient flings are the way to go.

When they meet by chance, sparks fly and they enjoy the most unforgettable, wild night of passion together - a night that ends on something of a bum note. Four weeks later, they come face to face, again, and neither are ready for what is about to happen to them.

I loved watching these two people explore their way tentatively into a relationship. Lucas' upbringing was starkly different to Stephanie's, and how they approached life, love and their shared future was interesting to watch. I enjoyed watching Lucas treading his way carefully into Stephanie's life and her heart. I loved that once he knew what he wanted from her, he was all in, but I felt his hurt and his despair that he'd ever breach her defensive walls.

Stephanie was a difficult creature - so painfully skittish, mistrustful and just plain maladroit when it came to any kind of relationship. I hurt for her, too, and was just encouraging her with all my might to take a leap of faith.

Fab story and can't wait for the next one in this series!

Lucas Fournier is one of the newest teammates for Carolina Cold Fury hockey team. He is loving life, being on the same team as his older brother and enjoying all the perks a professional hockey player at the top can enjoy.

When Lucas meets Stephanie Frazier, they have one fantastic night... with a little surprise afterward.

Now, Lucas the bachelor and Stephanie the introvert find themselves spending a lot more time together... if they can stay friends and work through everything together. Why not add some 'benefits' in there as well...

This was a great read! Lucas is an adorable family man who sees something special in Stephanie, even if she is hard to get to open up. Stephanie had very cold upbringing, and being a part of Lucas' life is showing her what a real family could be like.

I love this series, and Lucas' book was another great installment. With a lot of hot sex, a budding friendship and a whole lot of working through feelings, Lucas and Stephanie are a must read.

I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.

This book frustrated me so much because I wanted to like it but the two MCs drove me crazy. Lucas could be a really wonderful, sweet and caring guy that you loved but then he'd be an immature jerk and throw well a temper tantrum if things didn't go his way. His last fight with Stephanie he said some things that really were cold and hurtful and I don't think he really ever properly apologized or made up for that behavior. However, even with his temper tantrums I disliked Stephanie more. At first I really loved the role reversal with the woman not wanting to commit. However, she really turned into a whining, cold witch in this book at times. I sympathized with her background but at some point I just wanted to yell grow up and stop blaming your bad childhood for shutting every single person in your life out. Honestly, she would have this poor me inner monologue and admit to herself that Lucas was a wonderful man and how much she wished she could open up but then she's just give up and say she couldn't do it. Honestly, girl go get some counseling cause you need it. So between the whiny, closed off heroine and the temper tantrum hero I was pretty fed up. I also couldn't quite figure out how Lucas could fall in love with Stephanie since she rarely let him in and so he didn't know her all that well. The ending seemed rushed to me because I still don't understand exactly what it is that led to Stephanie's turn around. This book just didn't work for me which is a shame because I loved some of the other books in this series.

Loved this book! Love this author! Need to read the rest of this series if all of the other guys are as hot as Lucas! Lucas the hockey player that doesn't only play on the ice, but likes to be a player off the ice as well meets Stephanie, the interim director of acquisitions for a museum, at a gala that the Cold Fury are attending. Lucas sees her fire red hair and knows he has to have her. Next thing you know they are going home together and Lucas leaves Stephanie with a little surprise.

Stephanie in the book is broken. She grew up in a very wealthy household but has never really know love before and she makes sure that noone is able to break the wall that surround her heart. Lucas's family is his number one priority. He has love coming out of his ears for all of them and knows what it feels like to be loved. Two people that are fine being alone and having the occasional fling (Lucas more than Stephanie), but are completely different when it comes to knowing what love is.

This book will take you on an emotional rollercoaster. There were times that I wanted to smack some sense into Stephanie and times that I wanted to cry for her because of the things that she had been through. The chemistry between the two is sizzling and the sex scenes are steamy and make you need a fan.

This is another great book from the fabulous Sawyer Bennett. You won't be disappointed and I will definitely recommend this book to others.

We're back with the hotties from the Carolina Hockey team!

This time we have new guy Luc. He's the brother of Max - from two books back. ☺
He's just been in town for a few weeks and already had to attend one of those lame charity thingies at a museum.
But that's where he meets Steph.
Both are SO not in the market for something serious. Steph believes she will never be in the market for that - due to her horrible life growing up. And Luc is defintely not yet ready for his HEA! He knows what he wants one day: the same hing he grew up with - a loving home and family life.
But not yet. That's why Steph and Luc have only this one amazing night together.
Only that one night leaves behind a little surprise and now they have to be in each other's live a bit longer, maybe even forever ....

WHAT WiLL HAPPEN TO LUCAS & STEPH????
WiLL THERE BE A HAPPiLY EVER AFTER?
READ THE BOOK TO FIND OUT! ☺☺☺

Finally a new book in this adorable Hockey series.

LUCAS!!!!
He's Max's brother and he's rooming with other new team member Van - who will be the next book's hero! (I just know that his and Simone's story will be verrry interesting!!)

Luc is such a fun guy. He loves his life. His sport. His family. Everything is perfect.
And then he meets Steph. And their lives get mixed up for the unforseeable future. And she's so not like him. She had horrible parents. She's scared to trust anyone.
But of course Lucas will convince her to give them a chance!

It was all so very adorable but also frustrating, because it takes Steph such a long time to get where Luc already is ... in love.
I loved reading it! Sexy, adorable, funny, moving - great romance!!!!

LUCAS was another super-adorable, sexy, funny and moving addition to this great series! Run to your nearest amazon for your own Luc - this one is MINE!!!!!

... and now hurry Sawyer - I want VAN asap!!!!!

I had some problems with the writing...as with every Sawyer book. It's Sawyer's and my THING ☺ It's only me who has those problems with her writing. So please don't be worried or just scroll down and don't read the following...
I have a HUGE AS problem! It wasn't mega-bad in this book though!!!☺ You know the AS's I'm talking about? The AS that could be exchanged for a SINCE or BECAUSE or just a comma.☺ It's a British and or legal thing (if it's a thing at all!) and it doesn't have anything to do in an American book by an American author. I would be ok with it if one (British) character would use it, but everyone uses it! I really don't want to insult Sawyer. I love her books, but ... please stop doing it. But pfff who am I to tell her what to do, so just forget I said anything! It doesn't stop her books from being great!

The Cold Fury Hockey Series by Sawyer Bennett is hands down one of my favorite hockey sports romance series that I have read. In this eighth installment, Bennett turns up the heat and sweetness as she introduces readers to Lucas Fournier and Stephanie Frazier.

Lucas was a sexy blend of playfulness, sweetness, and pure entertainment. I loved that Sawyer didn’t add any unwanted angst or drama and kept the focus primarily on Lucas and Stephanie as they tried to work out their relationship.

When Lucas attends a charity benefit at a museum, he is greeted by the beautiful Stephanie Frazier, a museum curator. Both Lucas and Stephanie are attracted to one another and so they agree to a night of just sex. Fast forward to a couple weeks later, Stephanie informs Lucas that she is pregnant and he is the baby daddy.

Lucas, of course is naturally shocked and is willing to take responsibility. Since Lucas and Stephanie will be having a baby, Lucas wants to really know Stephanie. As these two begin to spend more time together, Lucas discovers that Stephanie had a very different childhood than he did. He discovers why she is very independent and stand-offish when it comes to love. Since Stephanie never experienced love, will Lucas be able to show her what love feels like?

"Here’s my put up or shut up. I’m in fucking so much love with you I can’t sleep at night. Half the time I don’t think I can breathe because I miss you so much. I don’t want to be friends with you, and I don’t want a casual fuck. I want you to let me love you. I want you to love me back equally.”

Lucas and Stephanie had the sexual aspect of their relationship down and so I loved that we got to see another side to their relationship when we finally got to see Stephanie’s fears and brokenness be healed by Lucas and his family. Lucas is definitely your feel good read. This book was brimming with lots of love and charm that you can’t help but fall in love with Fournier family. As always, Sawyer Bennett gives her readers a love story that was both sweet and sexy. Overall, Lucas was another great addition to this series and I can’t wait to see what is in store for Fournier’s baby sister in Van’s book.

I enjoyed Lucas by Sawyer Bennett.
It was sweet, hot, emotional, heartbreaking and at times frustrating.
The plot is well written, the characters were likable, endearing and I grew to loved them both.
Lucas and Stephanie come from two very different emotional worlds, one has grown up with love, family support, encouragement and the knowledge of whatever might happen in life he will always have his loved ones support and love.
The other grew up feeling like she was never enough, that she was a disappointment and that all the money in the world didn't buy you love and happiness.

My heart went out to Stephanie, I really connected with her and while some might find her stubbornness and her emotionally closed off personality a little off putting, I totally got her.
I felt her fear of being loved and I felt her fear of motherhood. When someone has never had this how can you know any better? How can you know you won't follow the road you've grown up with?
It's easy to say you'll do what you never had and always craved for but sometimes the brain is hard to convince otherwise.

Lucas was sweet, supportive, hot and just an overall nice guy that quickly won my heart.
I loved watching him fall in love, he made me swoon and I was touched with his determination to get through Stephanie's mile high walls. He was the perfect man for Stephanie, even after his stupid hurtful words that were said in anger and left me wanting to punch him lol
He knew he effed up and watching him win back Stephanies trust and heart left me full of happy feels.

Overall, Lucas is a fun, sweet and hot read that will bring out the feels and after reading that epilogue leave you craving for Van's book to hurry up and get released asap lol

Lucas by Sawyer Bennett is a great addition the Cold Fury Hockey series, each book can be read as a standalone and I highly recommend them all.

LUCAS releases September 19th.

Sawyer Bennett has created a series of books, the Cold Fury series, about a hockey team, the alpha men that make it up & the strong, sexy, stubborn women they are attracted to. Lucas Fournier has finally been signed to the same team as his brother. He's beyond happy that they have a chance to win a title together as long as no one loses their focus. That's why he's the king of one night stands. At a charity event, he meets Stephanie Frazier, the museum Director of Acquisitions. The chemistry is hot & they enjoy an intense evening that ended on an awkward moment. Fast forward a month & while celebrating another win on their hunt for the Cup, Lucas sees Stephanie again & she drops a bombshell! One look & Lucas knows everything has changed.

The characters in this series all seem to have their own problems to work out. Lucas needs to realize he's been waiting for the right woman & that being with her doesn't make him weak. Stephanie needs to realize she deserves to be happy & loved. Every relationship is not like her parents'. I really enjoyed the build up as they follow through on their journey & the way Ms. Bennett conveys the start of the trust in their emotions. The story has explicit sexual scenes & dirty language but it is all used in the right context & conveys the intensity of their emotions. I can't wait for Van's story!

Who doesn't love a hot hockey player . . . or a whole team of them. I was initially intrigued by this series because it is based in Raleigh, NC, my hometown. But with each new release it is the characters, their love for the sport and their love for their women that keep me coming back.

Like a lot of stories in this romance series, while it's clear from the start the attraction is there for Lucas and Stephanie it takes some trials and tribulations for these two to fully admit what they mean to each other. We are eight books into this series and the beauty is that none of these books feel formulaic. They are each their own unique and exciting story and each differs greatly from the one before. Yet, as a whole they read as a cohesive series. I love how close this team is and even more so how some friendships among the players are closer than others. It feels true to the nature of a sports team and I love it.

Lucas was a great read on a Saturday afternoon and I am so excited for Van's story next!

Carolina Fury brings it again with Lucas (brother of Max) and he's definitely one to get you hot. I'm loving that this story really focused on the characters, not as much interaction with the overall team as previous storylines. And of course you just want to wrap Stephanie up in your arms. She takes independent to a whole new level and you want her and Lucas to make it.

I love the fact that I never know what I'm going to get from Sawyer Bennett. She switches things up with every story she produces. Book 6 is Lucas' brother Max and Jules story. It was very low angst and romantic. Then Lucas and Stephanie's story is the complete opposite. It's not exactly romantic and it was high angst, yet I love both books equally.

Lucas and Stephanie are together because of a result of a one night stand. Neither want to settle down but are adults and can work together, as well as take advantage of the chemistry these two have for each other. It's very much a no strings relationship and Lucas soon realizes Stephanie doesn't know how to have more.

Stephanie had a very cold upbringing and really doesn't know what love is. Lucas has a very affectionate and loving upbringing. The way Lucas handled her insecurities and knew when to press and then when to back off made me really love his character. For being such a playboy before her and then making no fuss about being an adult about their situation won a lot points with me. He wasn't perfect and he did mess up but he came back strong.

It's actually kind of nice to see the man have to work for the relationship for once. Stephanie's insecurities can get a bit tiring but it also gave us that chance to see Lucas be an amazing Hero. I do wish we got to see them more as a couple once Stephanie risked her heart to Lucas, but I know we'll see them in future books since we got to see past couples in this one.

The epilogue was completely hot! It was a glimpse into the next book with Van and Simone. Wow! That small glimpse into Van...I have no words. ARC provided by NetGalley.
