I loved this book. I will continue to recommend it to friends who have dealt with hard things or who are currently experiencing a challenging time in their lives. Micah's voice carries transparency and authenticity which I respected while reading. She put her heart on these pages and it made it easier to immerse myself in the content of this book. Her advice is spot on and revealing her own trials made this relatable.

This author is brave. She shared her heart with us as well as her painful experiences and told us what she learned throughout. I am honored she shared with us, her readers, these challenges she faced and how she used her faith to be resilient and triumph. Recommend this author and I'm looking forward to what she writes next!

This book is amazing! Micah's real and raw personal accounts of her life draw the reader in and establish a real connection. Although Micah uses real personal life stories, her book is truly about establishing a lasting connection with Christ. My take away from Micah's book is that without Christ as our anchor, it is hard to find purpose in our lives. Micah gives practical advice and steps to become anchored in Christ.

We have all been through trials of some kind, and some are worse than others. When we go through these trials we need to be reminded that we are not the only ones that have problems, and that we will get through them. Anchored In is just that! It is full of encouragement that we all need as we struggle, and a gentle but oh so truthful reminder that we need to stay Anchored In to our faith.

One of my favorite quotes from Micah is "God's power is present to people who pursue it."

How true!! How true!! How true!!

Seriously, how have I missed this all this time?

This is a honestly written story of Micah's journey, and how she found an anchor. It is perfectly blended with stories and scriptures, and each chapter ends with questions just for you and a prayer too.

Micah uses personal experiences and Biblical foundations to remind us that too often we try and rely on our own power amid our troubles, and not on the Lord or the help He left us in the Holy Spirit. Micah teaches these truths in an engaging, caring and personal manner that is relatable.

The book is arranged in four parts: Past Power, Present Power, Potential Power and Anchored in the Promise of God’s Presence. It has twelve chapters, which can easily be used as a weekly devotional or study. There are three sections at the end of each chapter, Questions To Ponder, which are awesome for journaling, Praying God’s Power, a prayer you can read and claim and Experiencing God’s Presence, a scripture that lends the chapter contents to further meditation and study.

I absolutely loved this book, and found myself in tears often. This is a book for anyone who has in the past or is currently ensnared in the deep, messy trenches of life. Whether you are facing every day, mundane, aggravating problems, or a gut-wrenching tragedy, the truths that God speaks through Micah in this book will resonate and comfort you.

This book is rich with biblical truth about who God is and the power he gives as we remain in him. Micah is genuine, relatable, and pours out her heart in this book. She illustrates her points with personal memories, the scripture and wisdom from others. I felt like while my story is different from Micah's on so many levels, I could still apply all of what she wrote about to my own life. We need to be solidly anchored in Christ. We can't function effectively without him. So often we strive and strive to deal with life on our own and get no where. Through this book Micah shows the reader how to better abide in Christ and see the amazing results of remaining in Him. Through Him all things, even impossible things, are possible. This book is a huge encouragement but calls for life application and change. It convicts, pushes, and guides the reader towards Christlikeness. Great read.

A few years ago, I watched a video on the Proverbs 31 Ministries website, and I saw Micah give a short testimony about attending the She Speaks conference. Her gentle voice and humility drew me in, so I googled her name and found her blog. I spent the next half-hour trolling her website, thinking, “This woman gets me.”

Micah is a child of divorce, and so am I. She has also struggled with seasons of depression. Yet her love for Jesus and her solid faith shine through her words.

This book is Micah’s heart. Through scenes from her personal struggles, she shares how Jesus has been her anchor in each storm. She writes with transparency, and she doesn’t shy away from sharing hard truths. Her words uplift and encourage.

If you are going through a hard season, Anchored In will ground you. You will feel less lonely in your season of struggle, because you know someone like Micah has been there before. More importantly, you will learn how God is anchoring you by standing strong and secure under the waves.

I’m going through a few trials right now, and this book has reminded me that God is with me in my storms. He has a plan for me even when I’m suffering and he’s holding me close even when I feel unsure and alone.

A sampling of quotes from Anchored In:
Time doesn’t heal all wounds; Jesus does.
He binds up our wounds one by one and helps us understand the only way to live is anchored in His power.
I can press into the depth of abandonment, I can run from it, or I can call on God.
When your soul is consumed with heartache, there’s no way to overcome it without God’s power and presence.
When we remember the power we are anchored to, even in the deep places of our past, we will begin to experience God for who He really is–the anchor of everything we are.
A focused heart brings simplicity and satisfaction to life. A divided heart brings discouragement.

Even if you’ve been a fan of Micah for a long time (like me), you’ll discover new truths and find new hope in Anchored In. If you or a friend are going through a tough time, this book will encourage you and strengthen your faith.

The book includes personal stories as well as spiritual guidance on claiming the power of God in your life. It is an easy read. It doesn't require great in-depth study. It is very practical. At the end of each chapter, there are discussion questions so this would make a great book for a small group or book club to read together. It would lead to great discussion!
