Hot Pursuit picks up right where Fuel for Fire left off. Our intrepid heroes are struggling to get back to the good ol USA but hiding out in not so Jolly Ol England has them running again. All this running has put some things in perspective for former SAS officer Christian Watson. He has always wanted smart mouthed office manager Emily Scott but she has never given him an inkling that she was interested. It takes his cohorts to convince him that her snark is her way of flirting. Running for your lives is probably not the best time to hit on a lady but when has Christian ever do anything the easy way.
This is a high energy, laugh out loud love story that will leave you with a smile and looking forward to the next installment.

3.5 Hearts This is the 11th in the series and really you need to read book 10 before reading this one as it starts right where #10 leaves off.
This story is action packed. After 10 other books it is hard to believe that Walker has more in that mind of her and yet she does. She takes us to the edge in this book and it seems like something is always happening.
The characters in this book have so much to their they really are not 1 dimensional. You can really feel the tension and the lust in this story. But be ready to enjoy the adventure because the action is really what keeps this story going.
Heads up: There is a M/M romance in this story. Some may find this is not to their liking but the story is well written.

Walker does it again! The previous book, Fuel for Fire, took a team to London to scope out Spyder, this thug they've been trying to capture. They had to split into two groups, the first group with Dagan and the second with Christian. This is Christian's story about what happened to him and his reasons for leaving SAS. We take off directly from where they separate but an unknown enemy has located the group and plans his revenge. This is slightly different from the other books in the BKI set in that Emily and Christian already have this wonderful zing and zip to their banter so we can focus on their deep connection. The actual suspenseful action is a small part of this book, whereas the others have a more gun slinging or explosive side to their stories with romance being secondary. It was still an exciting read with great moments of intensity and intimacy. I highly recommend reading the entire series to get the complete picture of the whole team. However each book is a standalone that plays off the others. I love this entire series and was thrilled to get Netgalley copy, my review was written without bias.

Another enjoyable installment in the BKI series. Readers familiar with the series should enjoy Christian and Emily's story though new readers may find the story a bit thin on action.

Another awesome BKI book. I just loved Christian and his sexy English accent. Him and Emily are a hoot and a half together! The euphemisms and banter back and forth was so darn funny. Julie Ann Walker's writing just gets better and better!

Another great book in this series. Loved Christian & Emily!

For the most part I liked this book - I really liked getting to know Christian and Emily better as well as the small group that was with them in this adventure. I feel like earlier books had a little more depth though. These most recent books feel like a race to get to the point instead of savoring the details along the way. Overall - good story and good characters.

Hot Pursuit is the eleventh book in the Black Knights Inc. series by Julie Ann Walker. Black Knights Inc. is a black ops government organization run from a motorcycle repair shop in Chicago which reports directly to the President. This firm takes on the missions that cannot not or will not be “sanctioned” by the government. The team are all ex-special ops like the CIA, Navy seals, SAS, Mossad etc. This book picks up from Fuel from Fire and has non-stop action and suspense from the get go with some serious sparks flying between the two titular characters.
This book brings to the fore Emily Scott, an ex-CIA operative who now serves as office manager for the Black Knights. She convinces the team to join them on the UK mission in pursuit of Spider. Here she is thrust into very close quarters with Christian while evading two mysterious men who want Christian dead and the sparks start flying so battling her feelings for Christian just might prove impossible.
Christian Watson is a former SAS officer and current BKI operator, who left England after a terrible turn of events in Iraq forced him to abandon his homeland. But now he's back on British soil going after the mysterious Spider where old enemies are determined to complicate matters and kill him.
Together, Christian and Emily along with their team are forced to hunker down in England by the illusive Spider and wait for a chance to return to Chicago, their base of operations. The coming out of Christian's past makes things even more dangerous for the team. Now the heat is on and getting out of England has become a matter of life or death.
The overarching plot involving Spider was turned on its head by new information at the end of the book which promises for some exciting action in the next installment as the hunt for Spider intensifies.
Thanks to Net Galley for the ARC

4.5 HOT stars
This book picks up right after book 10 concludes. It will make much more sense to read this series in order but you could pick this up as a stand alone. If you remember, part of the BKI crew is stranded in England. Christian and Emily have been dancing around each other for some time now. Being in imminent danger once again, causes them to sort out their true feelings.
I really loved the wit and snark that comes from these two. They thrive on driving each other bonkers with that thick underlying s3xual tension. This book is exactly as the title suggests. Not only is the BKI team being pursued as they try to get home to Chicago. But once Christian gets Emily sorted out in his head, he is relentless in his pursuit to make her his.
Lots of action in this one. Lovely little sneak peeks at books I hope are coming. Ace and Rusty PLEASE. And it looks like Angel might get his HEA soon as well. The team is on their very last mission. It will be a sad day when BKI becomes just a bike repair shop. Great series!

I love Christian and Emily!!! They have been sniping at each other for a few books now and their chemistry was explosive! Neither had an easy start in life, but both seem to live life on their own terms and that includes loving each other. While I was happy to have the insight into Ace and Rusty, I think a little too much time was spent on their issues. Now the long wait for the *sniff* *sniff* last book in the series.

Book 11 in the Black Knight Series is non stop action that never slows down for a second unless the characters are having sex.
The side story involving Spider seems to be picking up pace and has some promise in the next set of books in the black Knight series as well as the new character Rusty who struggles with his sexuality.
The story moves quickly with action and Christian background and why he is hiding away in the United States.
I found this story follows the pattern of many of the other Black Knight Story lines where they are in danger have sex and decide it isn't worth more than one night. One of the characters wants more while the other one struggles with what they want. This time it was the female lead Emily.
The story flows is fast pace making for a quick read and while its doesn't have much in the way of surprises readers of the Black Knight series will enjoy this story.
Thank you to Netgalley, the Author Julie Ann Walker and the Publisher Sourcebooks for the Advance Copy.

The story I have been waiting for. Book 11 in the BKI Series entertains us with former SAS Officer, Christian Watson and the bossy, sassy office manager Emily Scott. These two have been circling each other for a while and driving the rest of the team nuts with the constant barbs that they throw at each other. Christian, Emily, Angel, Ace and Rusty are stuck in England and trying to find a way out when Christian's past is revealed when two brothers attempt to kill them.
Christian and Emily are not the only ones dealing with their feelings. There is all kinds of heat between Ace and Rusty.

I still adore this series, even x many books into it. This was not her best, and not my favorite, but it's a solid contribution to the series, and a quick and fun read. The newer cadre of heroes are filling out nicely as human beings and characters, and Emily and Christian have been fun since they were introduced. Christian's 'dark secrets' were probably a bit overdone, but that's common enough in people even, never mind broody action hero characters, and it didn't hurt any, just made the reveals a little less than they might have been.

Julie Ann Walker does it again!
The characters that she writes are like the long-lost family to the readers of her B.K.I. series. Each time we meet, we re-visit the lives and loves of the extended family of operatives, getting the opportunity to ‘catch up’ with the progression of their relationships. As such, we’ve been drip-fed information about the budding relationship between Christian and Emily over the last few instalments.
They have both had tough upbringings, although in vastly different ways, and their experiences have impacted on the adults they’ve become. Their relationship, or their more intimate relationship, begins at a time of extreme stress but from the very beginning they each work tirelessly to ensure that the other is protected from harm, sometimes putting themselves in danger in the process.
The banter between these two is, at times, hilariously funny and conversely, sadly poignant at others! I laughed out loud on more than one occasion, garnering concerned looks from my nearest and dearest, … whatever!
Their love develops and grows in Julie Ann Walker’s usual style, even I fell irrevocably in love with Christian! This was accomplished whilst continuing to drip-feed possible information for future stories to come.
A great attempt is made to anglicise Christian’s language, sometimes with more success than others. However, this in no way, impacts negatively with the enjoyment of the story and, I for one, had an English accent in my head when reading the part of Christian (and that’s a lot for a wee Scottish lass to admit!)
The only thing left is …. Will the next novel feature Ace and Rusty or will, as I suspect, Angel and Sonya jump to the head of the queue?

You can never go wrong with a book by Ms Walker, especially if it’s part of the Black Knights Inc series.
This one will not disappoint you.
If you have read the previous story, you will recall that part of the BKI group was working in England in their search of Spider, their enemy who seems to always evade them and are still there when book 10 ends.
In this story, Emily and Brit, Christian, finally move from sexual attraction to action. But both have their issues, and let’s not forget the action in pursuit of Spider.
Besides the romance, there is lots of action, suspense and moments you will be holding your breath.
I have come to love the entire crew of Black Knights Inc. They have become my “fictional” family.
Another well developed plot that will keep you entertained.
I was gifted this copy by Netgalley and Sourcebooks.
The opinions expressed are solely my own.

Christian is a BKI operative who was kicked out of the SAS after being set up by his own country. Emily Scott is the office manager of BKI and her and Christian are constantly at odds with each other. She is snarky, he is calm, cool and loves to piss her off. The very last thing they want is to have to work together on an op that puts them in VERY close proximity. The chemistry between these two is cute, funny and, off the charts electric! I loved reading their story and how each of them falls and, especially how Emily fights it tooth and nail!

This book is part of the Black Knights series, where a team of ex-military guys are undercover in a motorcycle shop, and actually working for the president as independent contractors. The books are all self-contained, but interwoven with the same characters. Each book centers on not only a special op, but on the romance between one of the operatives, and a girl we’ve either seen in other books, or one that just pops up. For several books, we’ve been watching Ex-UK special OPS Christian Watson spar against Emily, the office manager. (Kind of annoyingly so, IMO) Hot Pursuit is their story. I had a little trouble with this one, because while Christian has been a favorite character of mine through these books, Emily has always annoyed me. While I knew this matching was inevitable, I guess I hoped he’d find someone else. By the end, I must admit, I’d grown a little fonder of Emily, but I’m wondering if the story being about her is what stopped me from getting completely engrossed. Also, this special Ops part of the story fell very flat for me. While most of the books made sense, I felt like this one was forced. I completely understand the story, what happened and why (I don’t want to spoil it) but for the first time in a Walker novel, I found myself rolling my eyes at the action-part of the novel. I guess I just didn’t buy the bad guys or their reasons for doing what they did. I suppose when you’re writing a series that is as long as The Black Knights you’re going to throw a ground ball once in a while. I just wish it wasn’t in Christian’s story. Then again, I’d have to admit that my bar was set pretty high where Christian is concerned, so that might have a lot to do with it as well. We still see the great writing, wonderful flow and super-readability that I expect from Walker. I’m looking forward to the main plotline picking up again in the next book to re-hook me with Black-Knight goodness.

Loved this installment in the Black Knight adventures. Gorgeous Christian, so put together, British, did I mention gorgeous, on a job with a couple of the team when things continue to go south and not in a good way. Their escape across the channel evading the bad guys didn't pan out. Discovered by a couple of guys connected Christians past, the chase is on. Add in a love interest that can no longer be ignored or denied, Emily is under his skin and in his heart, as well as some steamy action in the bedroom. The remaining team aren't quiet, finding their own challenges along the journey, including unexpected attraction. I know the series is reaching its conclusion, but I've so enjoyed meeting the Black Knights and don't want it to end

4 stars! This book picks up right where the previous installment left off, so while it can stand alone, you will enjoy it more if you've at least read book 10. I have loved Christina and Emily since we first met them, and I was thrilled to finally read their story. Their childhoods really made them dynamic characters and helped me to understand their motivations in the present day.
Christian is such an enigmatic character. He is suave and fierce yet troubled by the thought of blowing up a car that isn't insured or killing a "bad" civilian who is trying to kill them. Emily is very tender and living but feels that she is unable to love due to her family. They are a really interesting juxtaposition, and I thoroughly enjoyed their banter. The supporting characters are great as well, and I look forward to Ace/Rusty's story as well as Angel's, both of which are set up well.
The plot is engaging with lots of action, although not much progress is made with the Spider subplot until late in the book. The romance was enjoyable with a good does of tension. My only complaint? The ending felt a touch abrupt. Their reunion was great, but I wanted to see a little bit more. An epilogue would have been great! I think I just wanted to see a little more of Emily and Christian together.
Overall, a very enjoyable read! Looking forward to book 12!

I have to say I haven't read a book by Julie Ann Walker I didn't like! This Black Knights book was about Christian and Emily and some of the other operatives trying to get out of England and searching for Spider and escaping two crazy brothers who are trying to kill Christian. The story of why Christian left England is complicated and secreted. It all comes out as his attraction to Emily grows and she fights her feelings for him in this action, suspenseful sometimes funny book progresses.I love their banter,Eavesdropper! Loud talker !had me laughing out loud.I hope the Knights never find Spider so the series won't end or maybe get the new presidents ok to continue fighting against the evils of the world..
