First let me start by saying. . .I love the Black Knights series! I've read every book, a few more than once! I do feel that with the last 2 books (this one included), Ms. Walker has veered from the original BKI team. It seems more of a new series, because we see VERY little of the original team. One of my favorite parts of a series -- catching up with previous characters. We see a smidgen of Boss/Becky, Ozzie/Samantha, and Mac/Delilah.
The relationship between Christian and Emily has been brewing for a while, so it's no surprise they tumble into bed within their 48-hr English adventure. Emily's balk at the relationship is just silly -- not mixing business with pleasure, esp considering how many matches happened with the BKI crew. The 4 weeks of whining/pining she does after their safe return is annoying at best. We see greater depth to Christian as well and learn much more about his beginnings and what led him to BKI.
The banter was great. The dialogue does move swiftly and is filled with lots of LOL moments. It was great to see a little more depth to Angel's character -- looking forward to seeing his full story. . .we get a few hints in here.
Overall, I enjoyed this installment, just felt a little disconnected from Emily. She became annoying and unattractive as she continued to refuse to acknowledge her feelings for Christian.

I've been watching Christian and Emily banter over the last two BKI books and I was so ready for them to take center stage. They're stranded in England with teammates Ace and Angel and Rusty, a civilian, hiding out in Christian's uncle's cottage. The close quarters give Christian and Emily the perfect opportunity for romance but they're so stubborn! You ever want to just take the book and smack the characters on the head with it?
I feel like this is really the second half of their romance since they had a such a prominent role in Fuel For Fire. At the end of that book it felt like their hook up was imminent which made it frustrating to see them suddenly start fighting it. But I've been rooting for Christian and Emily for three books now, so it's especially satisfying when it finally comes together.
I would have expected the search for the villain Spider to continue in Hot Pursuit as well, but instead the team is dealing with an enemy from Christian's past. But I loved their cat and mouse adventure so I'm not complaining. This is really the first time details about Christian's life have come up despite his being featured in the last two books so I was happy to see that. I loved getting little bits of other characters, especially Boss and Becky, too.
The only thing that bothered me was Emily. She's from Bridgeport on the South Side of Chicago and her language and mannerisms are supposed to reflect that. She just felt a bit off to me. When she got upset and went all "hood rat" (her words, not mine) she just sounded like a teenager. I'm not sure that a man in his 30's would actually find that charming like Christian seems to. (I went to college in Chicago and worked with some ladies from that neighborhood so I feel like I have a little bit of room to judge.)
Over the last few books, Walker has started referencing BKI closing and how it might affect the characters. I'm more concerned about how it will affect the series and I'm starting to feel like a spin off could be in the works. I'm more than happy to keep reading about these characters.

Thank God for strong women and even stronger men. I loved the aspect of this book that Christian doesn't give up on Emily no matter what. Add in the intrigue of black ops and trying to locate the mysterious "Spider" along with a love that jumps off the pages, not to mention all the other twists and turns in this book, makes for one great read. I love that Ms. Walker has created a world with people I wish I were a part of but also that she writes each book with such a unique story for each of her characters. Bravo.

Another fast paced, heart pounding, self-fanning, action packed, love-finding adventure that keeps the bar set high for this series!
As the Black Knights left behind in Europe look for a way out, love finds its way in. A great insight into Christian and Emily's background, a look at survivors guilt, and how love can bloom even in chaos, and hot pursuit. Another must read in an exceptionally well written contemporary/spec-ops/mystery/action-adventure romance series. Best of all the genres wrapped into one incredible book and series!

Former SAS officer Christian Watson works as an operator for Black Knights, Inc. After their mission goes AWOL, he wants nothing more than to leave his homeland, but Christian’s past foils his plans. What is worse, the bossy and vexing Emily Scott refuses to leave him alone until she learns his secrets. When their enemies threaten her, Christian decides to give into the inevitable. Can Christian manage to sway Emily’s view on love? Or will his complicated past sabotage any chance for them?
Former CIA Emily Scott now works for Black Knights, Inc as their office manager. She vows never to form any personal relationships with any of her male co-workers. Christian Watson tempts Emily to break that vow. She joins the mission to keep the group organized and out of trouble. As their group eludes the men following them, she discovers the truth about the man beneath the designer clothes and sexy accent. Can Emily’s heart survive a casual fling with Christian? Or will she want something more permanent?
Christian is such a sweetheart when the mood strikes him. Fate has dealt him a harsh hand, yet he continues to push forward despite all the obstacles in his way. I understand his driving desire to leave England posthaste. I absolutely adore his and Emily’s ability to communicate with just their gazes. But what I love most about Christian is how he admires Emily’s thoughtfulness towards everyone.
Emily is a woman after my own heart. She is not a girly-girl interested in the usual, stereotypical things most women like such as cosmetics or heels. Emily dons a tough persona to withstand her coworkers’ alpha tendencies, however, the sass and toughness conceals a tender and thoughtful heart. I admire her ability to give as good as she gets with the infuriating males at Black Knights, Inc. But what I like the most about Emily is her refusal to allow Christian to sink further into self-recrimination.
HOT PURSUIT is book eleven in Julie Ann Walker’s popular romantic-suspense series, BLACK KNIGHTS INC. I have been eagerly anticipating this book since FUEL FOR FIRE, book ten. The story overlays the prior book’s events, mostly when the group parts ways with Dagan and Chelsea.
HOT PURSUIT is an action-packed, thrilling ride between two damaged souls who realize exactly what is before their very eyes. I love how this book continues the budding chemistry erupting between Ace and Rusty. I secretly hope the author considers writing their book, and not consigning their relationship to the background.

This book like all of the other books in the series was an amazing read! This was an action packed read and the tension between Christian and Emily was so palpable I could feel it as I was reading it. I enjoyed watching the pair get together and work through their issues and become a couple. I also enjoyed the look at where the series is going to go next and wondering which operator will have the next book. I loved this book like the others in the series and can't wait for more to come.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book via NetGalley.

What can I say, I absolutely love the Black Knight Inc. series and Julie Ann Walker's newest addition Hot Pursuit does not disappoint. I love the energy and chemistry between Christian and Emily, they know exactly which buttons to push with each other. Hot Pursuit has a wonderful balance of romance and suspense of the case the Black Knight guys are working on. You can't help but fall in love either secondary characters as well as the Main ones in this series. I can't wait to see where the Black Knights are heading next!

You can't go wrong with the men and women of Black Knights, Inc! This was another great story in Julie Ann Walker's BKI series. This story focused on the Brit Christian Watson and the BKI office manager Emily Scott. They've appeared in previous books in the series always sniping at each other... a great form of foreplay! This story picks up where the last one left off, with the two of them, and several others from the BKI team still on British soil trying to get back to Chicago. They have fabulous chemistry and the book is action-packed as we've come to expect from the series. I highly recommend this book! While it can stand alone, this series is worth the read and I'd recommend reading them in order to get the most out of the storyline.
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I'm a huge fan of Ms Walkers BKI series. From the first book to the last there's a bit of everything in these books. The obvious being that it's a romantic suspense story, also it's full of drama and ironic humour. Some real lol moments too. Christian and Emily are hilarious and their verbal banter is very entertaining. from the first to the last page this book was enthralling, I was hooked immediately.. I'm from the UK so the idioms In it I found endearing and funny. Altho this is an ongoing storyline each book stands on its own merits so there's enough new story to keep it fresh and exciting. I'm extremely sad that this series appears to be coming to an end. I can't recommend this book and series highly enough..

Page turning, pulse pounding, brilliant, witty and action packed. I absolutely loved everything about this book. All of Christian’s British sayings were delightful and his and Emily’s banter helped relieve some of the tension.
Christian Watson, a former SAS officer and current BKI operator, never thought he would return to England after a terrible turn of events forced him to abandon his homeland.
Emily lost her coveted job at the CIA because of a colleague turned rogue, and now she has just one rule when it comes to men: they're for recreational purposes only.
We've gotten glimpses of these two butting heads and it is funny. The “proper” British guy being ragged on by the Blue Collar Chicago tough girl. Christian has fascinated me from BKI book one. He is so different from the other guys in some aspects but is just as capable of being a badass when needed. Emily, a recent addition to the group, has fast become one of my favorite characters. The chemistry between them is obvious to everyone but them. As one of their colleagues thought ‘a dash of longing mixed with a dollop of lust sprinkled atop a near-nuclear pile of need’.
On the run from a recent op that didn't go well the team is confronted with Christian’s past in a way no one saw coming. Just when they think they are home free a new threat emerges.

This is book #11 in the Black Knights series. I would suggest reading the previous books. The Black Knights have holed up in a house owned by Christians Uncle waiting to catch a ride out of the country. The team has been in the country chasing the elusive Spider, but their mission was a bust. When they are finally ready to leave they find reporters surrounding the house. They are a covert team and it is important that no one knows who they are so they have to find a way out without the reporters seeing them. Something from Christians past has put their plans to leave at risk and put the team in danger. They have also attracted the attention of someone who has a grudge against Christian and will stop at nothing to get revenge.
This book has its share of suspense, but there was a bit of dead time in the book for me when nothing was going on. The investigation into Spider will continue into the next book. Books that continue part of the main story into the next book aren't my favorite, which is why I give it 3*. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy of this book.

I love this series.
Julie Ann walker is the queen of slow burn romance. The characters are so well developed, have fantastic character growth with great believability. The plot is set at a great pace where you can keep up with what's going on without things running to fast that you miss it or so slow that you get bored.
I love that everyone gets there own POV and little sneak story woven in to the main storyline, it give you some diversity, keeps things fresh and interesting. It also keeps you hanging for more on those characters.. Angel is definitely on my want it, need it now list. Ace and Rusty need to get over their drama and get on eachother, Their arguments equally hilarious as it was frustrating.
Emily and Christian cracked me up!. Their constant back and forth bickering, snide jibs and sarcastic banter and me chuckling. They have that love to hate chemistry that just exploded anytime they were in eachothers vicinity. Christian's story broke my heart, that poor man endured horrific things and can't seem to catch a bloody break. You get more of an understanding of why he's so closed off and well polished. The best part is how he treats Emily, my lord I need me one of him he's a total sweetheart an absolute gent. Emily, sweet Emily.. Tough as nails feisty, fearless and had walls build round her like Fort Knox. She was an absolute sweetheart, kind and loving but so scared of turning out like her family and having a bad experience in the past she avoids any type of connection which made me to sad for her. My only gripe with her was how stubborn she became at the end... man if I could've reached into the book and bitch slapped her stupidity away I woulda. But the sex though..... that was haaaawt.
I love this series anyway and this addition is just making it better. The story is written to perfection with lots of sneaky surprises popping up along the way to keep things fresh. You not only get their story, you get sneak peaks of what's to come in the future. Not only is it a hilarious rollercoaster of banter, bickering and awkward encounters. Your getting super hot steamy scenes and heartbreakingly emotional moments. The story's well rounded with a little of everything and I could of happily read more.
I'd definitely recommend this to anyone whom enjoys books .
I kindly received this ARC from netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Another FABULOUS book by Ms Walker! I was giving an ARC in exchange for my honest review -and once again she did not disappoint! Hot Pursuit is the story of Christian and Emily - and the angst alone is worth its weight in gold! It picks up where Fuel for Fire left off - with Christian, Emily, Ace Angel and Rusty trying to get home from England. As always - there was great action, humor (I laughed out loud a lot!) and fantastic chemistry. And one of my favorite parts of her writing is the sub-plots!! While I've been waiting for this book - I am now DYING for Angel and Ace/Rusty's books!!! This is a must read - no one does Romantic Suspense like Julie Ann!

I love Julie Ann Walker's BKI series of books. Hot Pursuit is a wonderful love story between Christian and Emily. Usually the BKI series has lots of bad guys, motorcycles, and sexy couples. This time the author focus is on the love story between Emily, the office manager of BKI, and Christian, a Brit with a past. I missed the chase scenes with couples on motorcycles/cars, but loved the focus on the love story. A good read.

Yowza - this book is aptly named because the sparks, heat, and attraction between Christian and Emily sizzles. I can't remember the last time a love story, an attraction this intense, made my stomache swoon and the butterflies take flight, but these two and this story did exactly that. By the end, I was sobbing right along with Emily, and as nervous as Christian
Needless to say, I loved this story, I loved these two, and while I had claimed Christian in my mind as my own BKI operative, Emily fits him so well, *sigh*. They didn't have an easy path, and the dedication didn't quite prepare me, but this story had such depth of feelings. From the slow burn, the smoldering moments, the lighting of their passion, and the fans needed to keep the flames burning, Christian and Emily leap at you off the pages.
They are chasing their demons, their pasts, and the passion they have for each other. They fight it, but like everyone around them, it finally becomes true to them as well, they fit
Now, Angel and Ace need their stories!

Christian is English and was a SAS, Special Air Service. He is handsome, funny, and had a rough childhood. He was captured by Iraqi police officers and tortured. He was thrown under the bus when a shootout occurs and several are killed.
Emily is the office manager at BKI. She is witty, pretty, and independent. She doesn't believe in love because of her family. She grew up in Chicago and acts tough but is still a little girl wanting to loved on the inside.
Someone has leaked Christian's name to the press and they are camped out in front of the little cottage they are staying in. They must somehow get to the airport where a pilot is waiting to take them home but someone is chasing them and catches them at the hangar. They hide in a old house turned into a museum. Christian decides to make his move on Emily when he, Emily, Angel, Ace and Rusty get stuck in the manor. She agrees but just as long as Christian doesn't fall in love with her. She doesn't want to lose the family she has at BKI.
Can two people who constantly bicker keep their relationship on a friends with benefits only? Will Christian wear her down and get her to admit her feelings? Or will he lose the only woman he has ever said ' I love you' to? Funny, sexy, and fast paced. I laughed and wanted to cry for them both.
* Voluntarily reviewed this for Netgalley *

Three and a half stars.
I haven't read the last few books in this series but I really enjoyed the books I had read so when I saw this available for review I was eager to see how the series had progressed.
Our BKI boys are in England, holed up in a cottage in Cornwall, and tensions are running high between Christian Watson, former British SAS soldier, and Emily Scott the team's office manager. But Christian has some murky secrets in his past and when they come back to haunt him the team is in trouble as both the press and enemies pursue him.
This story takes place over a few days, it's tight and tense with the team being pursued across South-West England whilst trying to discover the identity of the mysterious Spider. As always Julie Ann Walker writes a gripping thriller with gritty characters from tortured backgrounds - what you want from these kind of thriller romances.
However, being British I have to take umbrage at Christian's language. Julie Ann Walker appears to have looked up some British words and liberally sprinkled them throughout Christian's speech without regard for the regional provenance, historical usage, meaning or Christian's upbringing. So, for example, at one point they put a "dustbin" besides someone in case they are sick, a dustbin is something you keep outside which contains all your household rubbish - unless the guy is projectile vomiting a wastebin is more usual. Christian often uses the word "feckin" - that is used almost exclusively by the Irish (and sometimes the Scots), not English people. Christian talks about his mother cashing her government support checks at the pub, it should be her dole cheques (note the English spelling). Christian talks about going off in his "drawers", unless he's in a regency romance he should be talking about his pants or his Calvin Kleins. He also says he didn't want anyone to get the wrong idea and give Emily "poppycock" about things, poppycock means rubbish, gibberish so the sentence doesn't make sense. None of this should make any difference for non-British readers but it was jarring to this reader when a former SAS soldier brought up in relativity poverty and in a rough area speaks like a little old lady from an historical romance!
Setting aside my linguistic issues, I enjoyed this book, it was fast-paced and the characters were engaging, although I didn't quite grasp how they discovered the identity of Spider - that seemed a little bit too convenient, although I may have to reread that bit to confirm.
As always the little hints as to the next character to star in their own book were intriguing.

In the previous book, the chemistry was clear between Emily and our hot former SAS operative Christian. Hot pursuit is a clear indication by Christian that he will do just about anything to win Emily over to his side, forever. Emily and Christian both have similar stories, in that they each had bad parents and this has affected them both. As Christian opens up to Emily with his truths, she feels more and more that her walls are crumbling! This book is set soon after they escaped in the previous book from the catastrophe mission that had them scrambling to leave the UK. However, Christian's past as a former SAS operative rears it's ugly head and puts them in danger a few times, before things are resolved.
Great book, love this series and loved Emily and Christian's foreplay in words!! Look forward to finding out more about Angel and I hope that Rusty and Ace get their chance for their own HEA.
I received an advance copy for an honest review.

Another great addition to the Black Knights Inc. series! Christian a former SAS agent and current member of the Black Knights is trying to escape the country he no longer feels is home - England. Too much has happened. The Black Knights along with Emily, their office manager, are on a mission to find one of their enemies - Spider. Emily and Christian have a lot in common but Emily doesn't want to fall in love. So it's coworkers with benefits for now but Christian wants more. Hot, sexy, fun, romantic suspense read!
