Taneesha and Michelle remain the most interesting characters. It's frustrating to see them struggle so much, but it feels real and relatable.

This goes from one problem to another, and it gets so depressing. Several times I felt like giving up. All the humor of the first few is gone.

Taneesha is still getting doxed, and things are escalating, and she is feeling like there is no hope of it ever stopping. She vents to her friends about what is happening on their chat line and Christina decides to take things into her own hands and play the Justice Queen and get some revenge on the guy who doxed her. Christina hops onto Reddit and starts a conversation line and releases Steven's details. This causes Steven to go to HR, and Taneesha called in, and one thing leads to another, and they are both suspended with pay. This got me thinking as Taneesha tried to go to HR and nothing was put into place, and then a male goes and wham bam investigation time. A Dox on Both Of Your Houses focuses on Gender inequality as it's not just Taneesha being discriminated as a result of Aditi's Jezebel article, Michelle has been called in to apologize to Sterling Knight -a chauvinist male author and her job rely on his happiness. Reading A Dox on Both of Your Houses got me thinking as even though we are in the 21st century, there is still this line between male and females in all aspects of life and males seem to have the upper hand and more power still. I have to admit I am kind of sad that this serial is nearly coming to an end as I have enjoyed reading the Geek Actually episodes.

A Dox on Both Your Houses
Geek Actually, Book 1.8

I Picked Up This Book Because:

The Characters:

Aditi Sodhi, Christina Webber, Elli Kelman, Michelle Andrada, Taneesha Adams:

The Story:

I still feel like men are the most disgusting creatures on earth… okay except Diego. I’m liking him… and Druv. Taneesha’s situation is just unimaginable. And that effer Michelle is having to put up with. I’m so proud of her, she played his game. I probably would have cussed him out and lost my job on the spot. Oh and I would have let Gwen have a piece of my mind too. They make me so angry. Who knew one could feel so many emotions in less than 50 pages.

THIS SERIAL, Y'ALL. I gasped and cringed my way through episode 8. Everything's heating the hell up and I'm sooooo worried about everyone.

With this ep, it really struck me how good the character dynamics are. I especially enjoy the contrast between Michelle's desire to work within the system and Christina's determination to burn everything down. The sisters sit at opposite poles in their friend group, and it makes for some fascinating interplay.

I seriously think I would enjoy this series a lot more if they had just published it as one long book. Because I'm sure everything is going to work out in the end - or at least I certainly hope so - but when you only get a little bit at a time and then you have to wait a week for the next bit and everything in everyone's lives is just horrible you're just sitting here like :this is awful and horrible and absolutely no fun at all!" I guess it's really no different than reading comics or watching a TV show so I'm not sure why I'm having so much trouble with it. Maybe the story structure in this is just not very good because I feel like with comics for examples each volume has a definite arc with a beginning, middle, and end but these episodes don't stand well on their own in my opinion. I mean I'm going to finish this because I'm over halfway through now but maybe I shouldn't read serial books in the future.

This series continues to entertain! After the last episode, I could not wait to see what happened next and the suspense has not stopped! These intersectional feminist friends can never disappoint!
