Sweet summer romance perfect for reading in the car. Rose Walters is hired to be the nanny for two children whose mother has died in a car. Their father (Raoul) is the crown prince, and his brother (Diego) is the playboy prince that is so common in these types of books. There are no surprises here as the book follows the playboy
'spare' prince formula. The grieving and recovery time for the royal family is handled well (I always hate it when this sort of tragedy is ignored or blown past by an author). All-in-all, a pleasant read.

This modern day fairy tale with a twist was a sweet and fun read that held my interest from start to finish! I love Donna Alward’s stories, they are full of heart, with characters to love and great settings. She pulls us into the world of royals with this new series, and I enjoyed it. The storyline was easy, but really cute. The hero, Prince Diego of Marazur, has a reputation as a playboy and has been making gossip headlines for years. His carefree life is tainted by tragedy when his nephew and niece lose both their mother and nanny in a car accident. In these difficult circumstances, Diego wants to show that he is not the shallow person the media has made him out to be. He values the idea of family and wants to be a part of the childrens’ life.

Rose Walters is the crown prince childrens’ new nanny. She is kind, compassionate, sweet, dedicated and yet she is feeling a bit intimidated by the royal lifestyle. Her connection with Diego is instant, they understand each other. He is full of surprises and lonely, she questions his playboy reputation and is convinced that there is more to him than meets the eye. They both want to give the children affection and stability. A relationship between them seems impossible, she doesn’t want to be his little secret on the side. We see her struggle with the emotional conflict between her attraction to Diego and her fear of gossip. But Diego knows what he wants and he is convinced they can make their relationship work.

Filled with warmth and romance, this book was a delight to read! The characters are well-developed and engaging, they are the strength of this story and their interactions felt real. The Playboy Prince and the Nanny was an excellent start to a new series and I can’t wait for the next book!

The Playboy Prince and the Nanny by Donna Alward
This is Prince Diego Navarro and nanny Rose Walters' story.

Diego and Rose become friends but the friendship line is beginning to blur. But can they really have a chance at a relationship? Diego is a prince and Rose is the nanny, the hired help.

This is a sweet and heartfelt romance. A great read when you want a sweet romance. I liked Diego and Rose's characters. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

A fairy tale romance. It is a sweet book that is well written and an easy read.

Diego was a bit more nuanced and deep than the title character named "playboy prince" usually is, and that was a welcome surprise. Rose was as sweet and patient as one might expect. A fun, quick read.

At first glance you might think this may be a rather silly – just for fun story – but those that know Donna Alward will realize you should never judge a book by its title. I got THE PLAYBOY PRINCE AND THE NANNY because it’s by Donna Alward. I loved it because the characters were simply wonderful – real – funny – sassy – awesome. THE PLAYBOY PRINCE AND THE NANNY is the first book in Donna Alward’s royal duology.

There is always a black sheep in a family – the person who doesn’t conform to the norm – kind of dances to their own drummer. Well in THE PLAYBOY PRINCE AND THE NANNY that would be Prince Diego. Since he is not the heir to the throne he has enjoyed the freedom to live quite a lot out of the castle – but not out of the eyes of the paparazzi. And the tabloids have not been kind to Diego or his playboy reputation.

Rosalie Walters was feeling like a fish out of water – sure her previous nanny jobs were for many wealthy client but this was her first foray in the realm of royalty. The new assignment was to watch over two young children whose mother and nanny died in a tragic car crash. Rosalie knew that Max who is four and Emilia who is six were going to require special care to move on after this life altering event. Love, hugs, patience and rules and Rosalie had plenty to spare.

It kind of messes with Diego’s mind that this lovely proper almost shy woman insists on calling him Sir. Rosalie can’t think of any way to address Diego without his royal title. But mostly she realizes that her biggest fear was unfounded. Diego has no recollection of ever meeting her although he comments that she look familiar. Rosalie’s reply will have to do for now – she just has one of those faces.

Rosalie’s job is important and first step was to familiarize herself with her surroundings, the royal family and staff. The relationship between staff and royal family is dictated by the family. Rosalie was impressed with the concern Prince Raoul – heir to the crown and father of Max and Emilia. He seemed to want an active role but actions speak louder than words and Rosalie would come to realize that Prince Raoul was still reeling from the death of his beloved wife.

Diego’s job was to hire a new nanny and help with whatever could bring a measure of solace to his brother. One of his other self-appointed tasks was to deflect attention away from this grieving family. This was not going to help him cast aside that burdensome reputation as a playboy – one he disliked. The fact that Rosalie seemed well versed on his reputation set up a course of action to show her the real Diego but at what cost to the two of them. Rosalie knew her place but it seemed as though Diego was determined to blur the lines. Her reputation trumped personal – it had to. After all she needed good references to carry on to her next job. That was the life of a nanny. Rosalie brought out the human side of Diego. He liked spending time with this woman who treated him like more than just a title.

The entire household of the Princes of Marazur was going to flourish under the wonderful care of Nanny Rosalie. She definitely captures their hearts.

THE PLAYBOY PRINCE AND THE NANNY is a very entertaining introduction to little kingdom of Marazur. Donna Alward graces us with some lovely characters who we get to know very well through her use of dialog. I’m guessing next at bat will be Prince Raoul’s story. Can’t wait.

If you love Harlequin/Mills & Boon type of romances, then THE PLAYBOY PRINCE AND THE NANNY is exactly the kind of book you would love to read. This book had a few more items in the con column (royals, clichéd playboy prince and the help story-line) than the pro column (the author) and is really too sweet for my tastes, but I finished another series by the author that I really enjoyed not too long ago and I decided to go for it after all.

It was as sweet as I expected (think 'Sound of Music', 'Mary Poppins'), with a Cinderella-like feel to it, quite predictable and easygoing, but it also had a lot of heart and feeling to it and was a welcome change from my usual fare.

Prince Diego Navarro is the spare heir to the throne, free of royal responsibilities and has earned his reputation as a fun-loving playboy. But when tragedy strikes the royal family, Diego is quick to step up to the task of supporting his father and elder brother, with the help of professional nanny, Rose Walters.

Rose has worked hard for her reputation as a highly sought-after nanny but working with royalty is a whole new ballgame for her, especially with the attendant publicity for a woman who values her privacy, even more when she finds herself developing feelings for the prince, a wonderful guy with a really big heart, much more than his reputation would have you believe. But it's not just the prince Rose has a soft spot for. Her two young charges are adorable enough to melt even the hardest heart and couple with the royal family who treats her more like family than the hired help, it's hard for her to maintain a professional distance.

But can the magic continue past midnight for Rose, or will her carriage turn into a pumpkin at midnight? This was a sweet and charming story and I enjoyed all of the characters, a perfect book for a anyone in need of a fairy-tale themed romance.

Loved this book a lot.  I can not wait to read the next book in this series.  I have not read a lot of books revolving around a royal family, which was a nice change.  I am a romantic.  How could I pass up this book about a prince who is known as a playboy?  The attraction between Rose and Diego was undeniable, but they did not want to hurt the children that she is in charge of or Diego's brother.  That to me is honorable.

Great book!!  I can not wait to read more from this author.

I like Donna Alward's writing style. She gives you a great romance that usually has some humor and a back story. This book has a royal prince losing his wife so his brother hires a nanny. You can anticipate that when Diego hires Rose for Raoul that one of the brothers will be falling in love with her. The children are precious and sweet and the story is also. This is book 1 in the Royal Duology so each brother has his own story.

I wasn't sure that I would like this book because I don't usually read stories about princes and royal families, but I decided to try it because I have really enjoyed other books by Donna Alward. The characters in this book were completely different than I thought they would be. I liked both Diego and Rose and enjoyed their sweet love story. I'm so glad that I gave it a chance because I really loved it! I look forward to Raoul's story next.

I received a complimentary copy from NetGalley and voluntarily reviewed it.

Prince Diego is used to being considered useless & a playboy. It's an image that he has carefully cultivated. When one's family is in the public eye, there is always times that a well placed scandal is needed to take that eye in a different direction. Diego just didn't realize the toll it would take on him when his family began to believe the hype. After his sister in law & the children's nanny both died in a car crash, Diego stepped up to hire a new nanny & then draw the attention away so his brother could grieve in private. He didn't have a problem with it until he met the new nanny.

Rose couldn't believe that she was on her way to become the nanny for the royal family. She'd had some higher profile jobs but nothing of this nature. Every time she became nervous, she remembered the children & what they were going through. Then she met Diego & realized she had met him once before. Rose is determined to ignore the chemistry between them since she's aware of the scandal it would cause & she needs her job. One can dream though, right?

This story manages to bring to life the reality of bridging the gap between public & private lives of those in the public eye. Everyone deserves the chance to grieve in private without having eyes watching & dissecting every move. The author found a way of illustrating this while also showing how much the famous give up for that fame. The characters were well developed & the children were wonderfully normal. It would be tempted to make them spoiled & naughty but they came across as normal children that just happen to have a famous daddy. I really enjoyed this book & cant wait for the next one.

Donna Alward has done it once again with her kickoff of the Royal Doulogy series, The Playboy Prince and the Nanny.

Prince Diego Navarro will go to any lengths to protect his family and give them some sense of peace and normalcy. He has a reputation in the media of being a playboy, but behind the scenes, he truly has a heart of gold and does a lot to help those in need. When tragedy strikes too close to home, Diego proves once again just how important his family is to him.

Rose has been a nanny for many years, and has worked in various households. However, nothing can prepare her for working for royalty and the two children that decide to take matters into their own hands.

I will admit that I am a huge fan of Donna Alward, and this book does not disappoint. This is a fast-paced and easy read, one that can easily be read in one sitting. The characters are well developed and extremely likable. I love a good romance, and even though this is a bit shorter than a typical novel, it is well worth the read. Prince Diego is a wonderful character, and I love the dedication and love he has for his family. Rose is the well needed breath of fresh air for the entire Navarro family. The children are adorable, and of course add humor to the story with their matchmaking ways. Overall, this was another great story by Donna Alward, and one I would definitely recommend.

Thank you to St Martin's Press and NetGalley for allowing me the opportunity to read and review this book. My views are my own and are in no way influenced by anyone else.

I thought this was going to be a four star read but then it made me cry. Them's the rules. You make me weepy, unless you really stuff things up, you get five stars.

Prince Diego is the spare and as we know, all spares become playboys *cough* Prince Harry *cough*.

Anyhow, Diego is off polo playing, living his playboy life, gaining lots of experience of the bedroom kind. Generally living the spare heir life. Then a car accident takes the life of his sister in law, Ceci, wife to big bro Crown Prince Raoul and the nanny.

Rosalie is a professional nanny from a middle class English family. While she has worked with wealthy families before, this is the first time she's worked for royalty. It's a little nerve wracking. Especially when everybody's favourite playboy turns up. Again. Yes, Rosalie met our naughty prince very briefly and still has fond memories of him. But not the sort of memories you are probably thinking. Even our Diego isn't that fast.

This is a very sweet romance with Diego and Rose getting to know each other through their care for the two plot moppets. Rose discovers that there is much more to Diego than his media image. Raoul's children are quite young and in need of caring parental figures after the loss of their mother and Raoul's distance at this time.

Overall a nice little royal romance with a believable setting and full of likeable people. I look forward to the sequel about Raoul.

This is a "sweet" sweet romance with no intimate bedroom scenes on page.

THE PLAYBOY PRINCE AND THE NANNY by Donna Alward is the perfect book for a summer escape. I was whisked away to a castle near the Mediterranean with Rosalie Walters (Rose) to be nanny for 6-year-old Emilia and 4-year-old Max. Rose has a 'dream job' working in a palace for a Prince, except the children's mother, Princess Cecilia Navarro along with their nanny, was killed in a motor vehicle accident. Diego, the younger brother of Prince Raoul, and internationally known as The Playboy Prince, also lives at the palace and places Rose's job in jeopardy.

I have always been intrigued by castles and fantasized the interiors and was quickly immersed in this delightful fairytale. I loved the rooms, the characters, the suspense and the romance. Like all fairytales, there are bumps and hurdles, if not witches or dragons, to be overcome.
I love the beautiful cover on this book and enjoyed reading this light well written story and look forward to reading more by the talented Donna Alward.

This was a sweet read!
Diego and Rose are both characters that are easy to like and easy to root for.
I really appreciated how Diego matured during the story from a playboy to someone who puts others and their happiness before himself.
This is well written and fun. It does a great job of telling Diego's story while also laying the ground work from Raoul's story to come in the future. This left me looking forward to Raoul's story and makes me want to go back and read their sister's story.

I loved this cute romance. I found this book to be well written with a good plot and interest grabbing characters. I especially enjoyed the motherless twins and their matchmaking efforts. This is my first book by this author but anticipate reading more of her work.

Royalty mixing with the common folk is not my favorite trope but I will read anything written by Donna Alward. The Playboy Prince and the Nanny turned out to be a surprising read since I found myself completely invested in the story, especially for the children involved.

Prince Diego makes a convincing caring uncle, which makes him so adorable. I could understand his hesitation in making his relationship with the new Nanny known to family, which eventually would be public knowledge. However, for Rose’s sake, I wanted him to man-up.

The story is believable with a wonderful building of the relationship between Rose and Diego. Romantically charming in a modern fairy story style. I can recommend this to anyone who believes in family, and trustworthy characters who deserve love that will last.

In the past year or so I've been really enjoying books by Donna Alward. I always love finding new authors that I keep wanting to read and she is one of them. Now I see her name and just get it. Thanks how much her books appeal to me. She's a auto buy.

I will admit that when I first started reading The Playboy Prince and the Nanny I thought about Nora Roberts and her royal series. I think Susan Mallery had a royal series too. Can't remember the titles for those.

But the point I made about how it reminded me of the series Nora did wasn't because I felt they were the same story, more like this on reminded me more of a Harlequin story that's all.

It's a very sweet, romantic story that doesn't have a ton of conflict in it. Once or twice I will admit that I thought Rose was acting a little offish, but it fit for the story line so that was good.

Both Rose and Diego will keep you reading their story. But they aren't the only ones that stand out, Diego brother and his kids do too! You'll really want their happy story.

A must have for fans of the idea of getting your prince..
