Totally liked this book. The Lost Vampire is written exceptionally well. Great romance
Cerys is a soul thief who is being held hostage by the mage Rin. He’s kind of like a mafia boss and Cerys is his hitman. Instead of whacking someone who has double crossed the boss, she is sent in to take their soul. In the previous book Saeed, while lost in a dreamland the vampires call The Collective, discovered the fae he believes to be his mate. He lost his soul when he was turned but once connected with his mate, her soul will tether to his and it will be returned to him. Unfortunately, this soul thief is soulless and there is no tethering.
Cerys character is typical of what you might expect of a fae that has been held prisoner for thousands of years and expected to perform when called upon. She’s definitely tough but so lost and misses the fact that she can’t feel emotion. Saeed has been labeled “mad” because he has spent much of his vampire life in The Collective, looking for his fae mate.
While I enjoyed Cerys and Saeed’s story, I was completely lost with all the politics and on goings of the different supernatural factions. I have not read the first books but I did read the previous one and I was still lost. Some of the names were very similar and it made it difficult to keep track of what was going on. Other parts had nothing at all to do with this story but I’m sure the author is building up for the next book. It would’ve made it an easier read to not have those scenes interspersed throughout this story.
Overall, it was an okay read and I really do think it would be a great read had I started from the beginning.

I read the first books in this series and recently became reacquainted thanks to Netgalley. I enjoyed the previous book and thank you for allowing me to read this new addition.. Saeed was a little annoying as he was portrayed to be a bad-ass vampire, but he was seriously hampered by being lost in the Collective memories and his made Cerys. Cerys is a fae who had been held captive for thousands of years. As Saeed finds her, the typical dance of love begins to happen. However, the book gets mired in the different factions (of which I couldn't sort them out in the last book and it's still confusing), and the book becomes overlong.
The ending was also very anticlimactic. After all these millennia, Cerys finally does the one thing that frees her--takes her captive's soul. How easy was that? Without his soul, i'm sure he would have been easy to manipulate like all the others.
The book was an easy an fast read, was interesting enough, and has me curious enough about the Beserkers and the Mage to continue to be interested in reading the others sure to come in this series.
I love this series...been following it closely since book 1 but I have to say this outing was a tough read for me. I'm not 100% sure exactly why. I liked both main characters..didn't love them but liked them.
The villain was compelling, but I found it a hard read. It usually takes me a day or at times 2 to read a novel this size but I struggled for over 4 days. It was slow and plodding to me...and I think maybe a bit to angsty for my taste. It wasn't a bad read just a difficult one for me.
My mindset could have impacted this review but I can only give it a 3 star rating. I will be reading the next one and I hope it regains the flow of the previous novels.
Great fast paced book. Tons of chemistry. A little too confusing with all the supporting characters
What would you do to find your mate? In Saeed's case anything as he has been looking for Cerys forever and now he has an idea where she could be. He gives up his coven to go find her and he just has to get her to tether to him but it doesn't go according to plan when he finds her. Cerys has no soul, her boss Rin took it years ago and she is now his slave and she is also rare she is a soul eater and that gives her boss the advantage over other supernaturals. And Saeed only knows of one way to get her away from him so he joins his crew, now he just has to get Cerys on his side before she kills herself.
Cerys isn't to sure about him as he seems to have a death wish and she can't believe that she deserves someone to love her. Can she really have a chance at happiness and away from Rin for good? But they don't only have to worry about Rin as the beserkers are in town and they want Cerys but why? And Saeed knows that they will still come for her but he has given his word so they will have to wait and see what will come for them. A great read full of action, sexy supernaturals and maybe just happy endings for some.
This vampire series is a must read. Saeed went looking for his mate, she is one of a kind. A soul stealer. He has to get her soul back for an evil mage that makes Cerys enforce his city. Loved this story.
