Author Cathryn Fox gives two people who grew up wanting one another a chance for happiness when they are reunited 14 years later in Demolished. With a sexy, swoon worthy “bad boy” hero who is really a nice guy, a heroine on the run, and a small town filled with interesting characters, the Blue Bay Crew series is off to an entertaining start.
Summer Wheeler is on the run from her ex-boyfriend who she knows is planning to hurt her, in fact she thinks he might have been involved with her father’s death. With a bunch of cash and cards for a new identity left by her father, Summer is returning home to her home town of Blue Bay hoping the 14 years she’s been away and her new appearance will make everyone forget Summer and embrace her as Jenna.
Sean Owens returns to Blue Bay after the death of his father with his brothers and cousins on the way back as well to take over his father’s construction company. Sean and his father had a difficult relationship and he feels guilty for not returning sooner. He made a name for himself on the professional motorcross circuit, but now it is time for family and duty. What Sean doesn’t expect is to run into Summer Wheeler on his way into town, the girl, now woman, who was off limits to his bad boy teenage self and he certainly doesn’t expect what happens next.
I’m going to be real honest here, the whole new identity thread of the story drove me nuts, she fooled no one but they all let her be “Jenna” without calling her on it, I wanted to be that woman who walked up to her and said, “Look, we don’t know what’s going on, but you aren’t fooling anyone Summer so just cut the cr*p and tell us what the hell is going on because you look like a damn fool.” But, we didn’t get that we watched Summer lie to everyone and behind her back everyone is winking and nodding because they know she isn’t Jenna. This part of the story turned me off, completely so I know you are wondering why I gave this book 4 stars and that’s because the history between Summer and Sean was compelling, the chemistry between them when they reunite is sizzling, the feelings that develop (or continue) between them are sweet, and these are two easy to like characters. Add in Sean’s grandmother, his brothers and cousins and I was hooked. The sexy times are plentiful and hot, and while Summer has a right to be concerned about her ex, I wish that part of the story had been handled differently.
While Demolished wasn’t perfect, it was an intriguing and sexy romance and left me excited about what’s to come in this new series.

Summer is on the run from her ex and winds up in Blue Bay. She runs into her teenage crush, Sean. They hook up for one very hot night. Later she hires him to help with her cottage renovations, and lots more hot and sexy times ensue. She runs to protect him, but of course, he chases and helps get rid of the ex. It dragged in places, and the run in and taking care of the ex was meh.
Sean has five hot brothers, plus two hot cousins to get HEAs.
This was such a fun read! Girl on the run, and where does she turn? None other than her childhood bad boy crush. Cant wait to read the next in the series.
Summer is on the run from her ex and heading to her childhood vacation cottage in Blue Bay. On her way to the cottage, she stops at a diner for a soggy dinner then she meets her childhood crush Sean. He rescues her from stranger in the diner and sparks are flying.
Sean decided to take their spark and move their spark to somewhere else. She knew who he was but decided to stay anonymous and left him after one night of passion. But never thought she would face him at Blue Bay. Now she decided to take another identity not Summer.
Sean can't understand why Summer is hiding her identity from him and rest of the town. He is curious to find out. Now he is back in town to take over his father's construction business since he passed away. He was seeking for his approval until he went away to pursue his motocross career.
Sean decided to play along to Summer's new identity and decide to help her fix damages on her cottage.
There is no hiding their attraction and they decided to be friends with benefit until cottage is fixed.
But Summer's ex and her mystery key keeping the suspense.
It was fun read and I did like both characters and I can't wait to read the next one about his brothers. It was steamy!!!!
Demolished is a hot & sexy romance with a dash of mystery. I love the heat Cathryn Fox creates between Sean & Summer. The story is exciting & I love all the family members, especially Grams.
Demolished is the first book in the Blue Bay Crew series & I can't wait to read more.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
LOVED this book so much. It had some mystery, was super sexy, and hello Sean. Swooning is an understatement. Such a good book, and I can't wait for the next one!

Book #1: Blue Bay Crew Series
Source: Netgalley and Purchase
My Rating: 4/5 stars
Summer Wheeler had a life she liked in California. She had a boyfriend, a successful chiropractic business, and a group of friends she’s had for years. All that was blown to hell the moment she heard her “loving” boyfriend planning her murder. In a matter of moments Summer’s whole life was turned upside down and she was on the run.
More than a decade ago, following the death of her beloved mother, Summer and her father left their Blue Bay cottage. Summer never anticipated having to return to Blue Bay; more importantly, she never anticipated having to come face to face with her long-time crush, Sean Owens. Trouble is, she can’t tell him anything about her current situation; in fact, Summer isn’t even going to fess up to being Summer. She’s been away from Blue Bay for so many years, she’s counting on no one, not even her crush, to remember her.
Like Summer, Sean Owens never intended to return to Blue Bay, but in the wake of his father’s death, it’s time to return home and take over the family business. He isn’t expecting much beyond years and years of construction work so when he runs into Summer Wheeler, all grown up and luscious, Sean begins to see a brighter (short-term, of course!) future. Even though its been more than a decade, Sean recognizes Summer instantly and can’t figure out why she’s working so hard to convince him she’s someone else. Initially, Sean doesn’t really care as long as he can keep having sex with summer, but as the days pass, Sean realizes he genuinely cares for Summer. Caring means asking questions and Sean is certain Summer is hiding something. Despite all his questions, he gets very few answers, and as much as that frustrates Sean, he doesn’t want to push too hard and risk losing Summer. As it happens, Summer’s stubbornness and Sean’s shyness nearly cost Summer her life, and an HEA both more than deserve.
The Bottom Line: As far as first in a series books go, Demolished started off pretty badly and ended pretty well. One of my least favorite things to read in any book is a sex scene in a completely inappropriate place or at a completely inappropriate time. The first encounter between Summer and Sean may be hot, but it really doesn’t work with the time, the place, or the rest of the read. Getting beyond that first scene and into Blue Bay significantly improved the read, and became quite the page turner for me. Sean has a huge and intriguing family all of whom are more than willing to take Summer in and keep her safe. Summer is quite likeable and as her story unfolds, you just want to see her come clean and take the help Sean is offering her. Sean is damn fine character and I very much enjoyed seeing the mental gymnastics he has to go through in order to realize he loves Summer. Aside from the single scene, the naughty bits are delicious, and I can’t wait to see what kind of trouble the rest of the Owens boys are going to get into.
A story about two people Summer who is running from her past and looking for a ledger to try to save herself from the man who killed her father. She travels to the only place she remember Blue Bay. Before she arrives she runs into an old crush and acting as someone else she decides a one night stand with Sean Owens the one she has always had a crush on would at least fulfill one dream while all of others have been shattered. After a hot steamy night she leaves Sean and arrives in town and is going by a different name Jenna, and heads for the cottage they have. Seeing that it needs major repairs she goes into town to buy supplies and put up fliers’ when she runs into Sean. He has moves home to take over the family business after his father died. Now he decides to play along with Jenna or Summer but all the while still trying to figure out what has her running and scared as a jack rabbit. These two are made for each other and this story is full of passion, steamy sex scenes, mystery, and suspense and will keep you going from start to finish. An excellent story.
I didn't care for this book. It wasn't something I considered finishing after the first couple of chapters. I'm sorry.
Suspenseful and sweet at the same time. Quick, fast paced read. Very enjoyable plot and characters. 3.5/5 stars
The Blue Bay Crew – start of a new series featuring the Owens siblings in the town of Blue Bay Crew written by Cathryn Fox; another captivating series for the readers for sure.
First in the series, “Demolished” brings the bad boy, Sean Owens to his hometown, to take care of his father’s construction business and set roots. He never dreamed that his past girlfriend Summer Wheeler would ever be in Blue Bay under a false name refusing to acknowledge him.
Summer Wheeler is running from a tragic past leaving her alone and coming home to Blue Bay is her way of staying under the radar of the people hunting her. Coming face to face with her lover Sean and having to take his help to fix her home was never in her plan.
A decent story, but somehow not captivating as her earlier stories, “Demolished” can be read once. Sean and Summer make good enough characters, but somehow the plot lacked the needed intrigue and suspense to make a lasting impression
Received an ARC from St, Martin’s Press via NetGalley for an honest review.
Demolished is a sexy little tale. Summer's on the run from her ex, and she's back in her hometown. She hasn't been there in years, but her father sent her there in a roundabout way. When she sees her childhood crush, Sean, again, she instantly feels safe with him. Sean was the town's bad boy, but to her, he was her protector and rescuer. It seems his protective genes haven't disappeared, because he's instantly protective toward Summer, and he recognizes her right away. Summer doesn't realize he recognizes her, gives him a fake name, and Sean goes along with it to see where she's going with it.
What is meant to be a ONS, quickly becomes more as Sean and Summer's chemistry explodes. But, can they make a relationship work when Summer isn't sure how long she's in town for? And when she's running from an evil ex? Throw in some action and suspense and a fast pace and Demolished is a well-rounded, sexy read. Of course there's miscommunication, or in Summer's case, no communication, and it messes things up for them, but it's quickly fixed and we're given a sweet ending.
I can always count on Cathryn Fox for sexy, sweet stories, and Demolished is certainly no exception. Sean is a hero to be admired - sexy, protective alpha. Summer is less likable for me, but Sean more than makes up for anything she lacks. I can't wait for more from the Blue Bay Crew!
Decent plot...but could use some work, especially the intimate scenes. They were just over the top (the guy had such a huge .... that he's never been able to fit it all in a girl before). Everything else was great about the story...but this just pulled away from the story itself.
Overall not bad, I look forward to the next book in this series.

Crystal's Thoughts:
Perfect for readers who enjoy stimulating second-chance romances, Cathryn Fox's Demolished was an easy story to luxuriate in on a hot summer's day!
A girl on the run pretending to be someone she isn't, a bad boy desperate to be good, and a small town of busybodies sure to entertain. Demolished begins with our heroine, Summer Wheeler, fleeing to her family's holiday home in Blue Bay. A picturesque town with a day's of old feel. Hiding from her ex who she suspects is out to harm her, Summer takes on the identity of her childhood friend, Jenna, when she finds the new identity left for her by her deceased father. With sparse clues left for her, she tries to uncover what her ex doesn't want her to know, and how her father's sudden death ties into it all. Her childhood crush is the last person Summer expects to run into in the small town of Blue Bay, but when she does, she can't deny the sizzling attraction still lingering between them. And nether can he.... Sean Owens came back to Blue Bay for one reason, and one reason only. To live up to the man his father always wanted him to be. Chasing around a woman who clearly wants to be forgotten, is definitely not on his to-do list, but Sean can't resist the pull he feels towards Summer. The pull he's always felt. Can he assure Summer that she can trust him with all of her secrets, or will her past catch up with her first?
From their first meeting in that run-down diner, you could feel the sparks flying between Summer and Sean. Their history, which is slowly revealed through out the story, their continued connection and chemistry, pulled me in. It was a sweet romance between the two with just enough heat to make me sweat. The story was well-paced, the writing was absorbing, with likable characters, and I really enjoyed the quaint small town that it was set it. The one flaw in the story, which was an extensive plot element, was Summer's "fake" identity as Jenna. Everyone knew who she really was. She didn't fool anyone. Yet throughout the entire story, no one confronted her about it. It was baffling. Overall though, I delighted in this book and the Owens family captivated me. I look forward to more from this series!

This is a HOT new series by Cathryn Fox! Demolished is the first book in the Blue Bay Crew series and I'mvloving the Owens men.
Summer Wheeler is on the run and doesn't know who she can trust or if getting close to anyone will put them in danger from the men who killed her father. Keeping her identity hidden and hiding out in her childhood cabin only makes sense until Sean Owens shows ups and tears all of her defenses down and won't take no for answer.
.
This wasn't a quick read for me. I didn't really care for the story and I didn't connect with the characters, either. Also, the ending was rushed. I'll try another of CF's books. Her writing style is good, so I think this one just didn't do it for me.
This was a fun read. Good chemistry between the characters and enough sexy moments to keep you turning the page. The plot was weak, thougg, which is why I gave this three stars and not four. I would have enjoyed this better if there had not been a threat to the main character as the threat wasn't developed enough to make it interesting. If this had just been a book about a girl who returns to the vacation home of her childhood and gets involved with her old crush, it would have been fine. There was enough to the book to make that the premise without any outside threat. Otherwise, i enjoyed the book.
The first book in this new series Demolished is a great read and I cant wait to get better acquainted with the Owens brothers. I personally like alternating POVs and this book is written from both Summer ( Jenna) and Sean's POV. There are a lot of themes going on this book, loss, love, regret, fear, intrigue....something for everyone. The chemistry between Sean and Summer is explosive, the family ties are strong and story moves along at a great pace.
Summer is on the run. She fears her ex boyfriend will find her and get a ledger her father hid. She wonders what is on the ledger and if her father's death really was an accident. She returns to her childhood home and encounters Sean. He was her childhood crush and always protected Summer. He will do anything to save her from the secrets of the past that continue to haunt her. Will Summer find what she is looking for and will Sean keep her safe? Absolutely loved Summer and Sean together!
