Okay, so this book starts out scorching hot, and then sustains that through the whole story. These two have an attraction that leaps up and grabs you, so keep a fan nearby to cool off. What they also have, that snuck up on me, is a deep emotional attraction. Somewhere between all that smexy time, their fling got a little serious without their consent.
It was a lot of fun riding along with them on their journey, and they had me worried there for a bit, but they got it all worked out. And the stage is beautifully set with all those brothers and cousins for more sexy men!
It's been a while since I've read a Cathryn Fox book and I'm wracking my brain as to why because she wastes no time in showing us the scorching chemistry her couple generate. And, with a smattering of suspense added into the mix, I pretty much did demolish this in one sitting.
"...we only get one shot at this life, and ours is going to be a ride to remember."
This was exactly what I needed; an easy-read sizzling romance, with a dirty-talking, protective man and a woman who has some secrets. And when Summer Wheeler returns to her hometown under a fake identity and proceeds to have her night rocked by the town former bad-boy and her childhood crush, Sean Owens, she thinks she's managed to pull the wool over his eyes. Thing is, that childhood crush? It wasn't so one-sided.
"You’ll break so hard, baby, you’ll think you’re in a downpour, naked and quivering as I have my way with you. Tell me you want that."
Okay, so the fake identity part was a bit OTT, but everything else hit the spot and aside of the page-burning antics, Sean and Summer have a lovely emotional connection and, with this being told from both POV, you see their more vulnerable sides as she hides her real reason for returning to Blue Bay, and he grieves his dad's death.
"...he’s like an addiction, and after one taste I can’t seem to quit him."
With a large, close, rowdy male-dominated family and their savvy, straight-talking and fabulous gran ruling the roost, there's so much potential for the Blue Bay Crew series and I'm looking forward to seeing who falls next.
Summer Wheeler is a chiropractor in southern California. After hearing her boyfriend, Jack, talking on the phone. He is looking for something of her Dad's that he believes Summer is now in possession of. She bolts. Her Dad recently died in a motorcycle accident and after hearing that conversation, she now believes it wasn't really an accident. In his things he left Summer, was a random key and the keys to their long vacant cottage in Blue Bay. She is travelling there when she stumbles upon Sean Owens-a blast from her past-in a cheap diner! What are the odds! The guy she used to have a massive teenage crush on, is now all beef and brawn. Gosh he really won't remember her would he?
Sean got out of Blue Bay as soon as he turned eighteen not seeing eye to eye with his father. He was extremely tough on all his brothers, but being the oldest meant he had to set a standard. He became a successful motocross athlete. When Sean's father unexpectedly dies, Sean is coming back to Blue Bay. Never feeling good enough, he wants to set things right and salvage his father's ailing construction business. He left town as the bad boy, will Blue Bay welcome him back??
When Sean walks into a dive bar and sees his crush, Summer, he's keen on getting to know what was once considered off limits. Attraction zings at the bar and they decide to have a one night stand. The next day they are both show up in Blue Bay. Only now she is going by Jenna. Things become abundantly clear that one night was not nearly enough to sate their hunger for each other. But he is confused as to why Summer would use an alias. He knows she's in some sort of trouble. Why won't she trust him? Summer doesn't like to lie, but she believes she is protecting Sean and his family from her ex, and she doesn't want any of them to get hurt.
Wow! I really liked this book! I fell in love with Sean instantly! All sexy and so sweet! And Grandma Nellie! What a firecracker! I guess you have to be to keep all the Owens boys in line!! All seem to have grown up becoming successful and respected in their chosen fields. When Sean calls them all back to the family business, all drop everything to return home.
Sean and Summer's romance was a second chance romance. First love's never really go away and their connection was sizzling! Their attraction was oozing from every pore! Everyone could see it! I felt it! I loved how they fell just as hard this time around! Good stuff!!
The Blue Bay series is a smash right out of the gate with Demolished! The next book in the Blue Bay series is Leveled and I am anxious to see which Owens brother finds the one person that makes his heart go pitter pat!
This is a rather tough one to write. I requested for the book because I do like romantic suspense and it did appear as though Cathryn Fox was starting a series with just that….so I was sold.
But it was disappointing to find ‘Demolished’ more sex than plot, and that’s something that I think you've got to have your eyes open to before you get into any of Fox’s stories. Her characters live and breathe sex, with every seemingly innocent action capable of stirring arousal and making each other sex-crazed at any given time of the day, no matter how inappropriate it can get. There’s always heat and passion and many times the characters can’t help themselves (especially the men who are never the one-woman sort until the heroine comes along), and that typically takes priority over any suspense or mystery that Fox does try to write into the story.
Sean and Summer go straight into a one night stand after a quick meeting at a bar, and banking on the idea that she has been away a long time, tries to slip into someone else’s identity just as she tries to investigate what exactly went wrong with her father. This was the bit I couldn't get over; it seemed astoundingly stupid though and unbelievable hat she was able to continue pretending she was someone else when it was clear this delusion was pretty much in her own head, especially after Sean recognised her early on yet went on with that ridiculous charade. This pretence continued for a long time, as did the sleeping together, and Summer did pretty much ended up with egg on her face when the game was up.
In short, I did come into the story knowing this, yet I found myself getting tired of reading about Sean/Summer getting it on on every available surface. I did want to know what sort of mystery Summer would uncover, which was only revealed towards the very abrupt end. Unfortunately, I lost interest past the halfway mark and I skimmed the rest just to find out what happened to Summer’s father and the clues he left her. ‘Demolished’ was more of a miss for me and if the rest of the books are going to be written in a similar vein, I’ll probably not continue this series at all.
4 - "So you’re good with your hands..." Stars!
Cathryn Fox starts her new Blue Bay Crew series with really great style. Demolished was a quick, sexy read, which left me eager for more from the Owens Boys.

You essentially have a book full of sex with a little bit of a story thrown in for good measure here. Thirteen years have passed since Sean Owens has seen Summer Wheeler, and what initially starts out as a one-night-stand in a roadside motel, quickly turns into more, when they both realize that the other is Back in Blue Bay for the foreseeable...
"Don’t worry one-night stands are my speciality."
Except, Summer isn't there as Summer, and pretends to not know Sean. Something although unsure as to why, Sean goes along with as long as the sex keeps coming. I won’t lie I found this part of the story a little silly, everyone knows she's Summer but keeps up the charade, but hey it didn’t really get in the way of my enjoyment so I was happy to play along as well.
"For the rest of the summer, you’re mine."
As I said this was a quick read, with likeable characters and a little bit of suspense thrown in to bring about the big fall out towards the end. The Owens brothers and cousins are all that and a bar of chocolate, so I am looking forwards to getting my hands on the next book in the series; Levelled due for release in 2018.
"Fuck with one Owens, you fuck with them all."

This book was a great read. The storyline is fantastic, the sexy time scenes are awesome. This is a new author to me and I will definitely be looking out for more books by her.
Summer is running away from her life in SoCal in order to save her life. Her late father left her cash and two keys and after overhearing a phone conversation that makes her father’s death look shady, she decides to split. If her boyfriend didn’t think twice about murdering her father, she would certainly be next. She goes back to the last place she felt safe. Back to Blue Bay, Connecticut and back to Sean Owens. Sean had come back home after vowing to never return. Unfortunately, he’s come back to bury his father and to run the family business. He doesn’t expect to want to stay. Doesn’t expect to run into Summer, his childhood crush, on his first night back in town. But Summer is hiding something and she isn’t Summer. She’s pretending to be Jenna. Something draws his to her anyway. He decides he will play her game of pretend to see what happens.
Great read, awesome writing. Will definitely read more from this author.
Demolished is a tale of old crushes, mysterious ledgers, and crazy hot sex. Both Summer and Sean have returned to their tiny Connecticut town after the deaths of their fathers. Summer is hiding her identity while she searches for a mysterious ledger that her (now) ex-boyfriend was search for. She thinks her father's accident might not have been so accidental. Sean has come home to take over his father's construction business. Sean recognizes Summer right away and Summer recognizes Sean, but she still tells him her name is Jenna. He plays along for a while because its obvious something is going on.
I enjoy mystery and suspense in my romance novels. I love a good whodunit with a love story twist. However, in Demolished, the mystery part wasn't really fleshed out well. It was more like a string of events that happened in-between the crazy sex Sean and Summer are having with each other. If the author had focused more on the mystery, it could have been good. Or, if she focused more on the character dynamics, the story could have been better. There is a lot of possible depth to Sean and Summer that wasn't really explored. Honestly, the only thing really explored was all the crazy sex. They explored that frequently. And when they weren't exploring it, they were thinking about exploring it. Don't get me wrong-I love a good smutty sex scene as much as the next Tessa Bailey/Alexa Riley/TM Fraizer/etc fangirl, but in Demolished, it just felt a bit too much. I like a deeper story or deeper characters with my smut, thank you. I AM a lady ;)
So, overall, this wasn't a bad book and I enjoyed it. Its a very quick read too so if you are looking for a book that won't require much mental effort, Demolished is perfect. Steamy, easy, and light is exactly how this book felt to me and sometimes, thats exactly what you want. And, it looks like Fox is setting this up to be a series with Sean's brothers! More hot construction guys with tattoos? Yes please!

Demolished is book one in the brand new series, Blue Bay Crew, by Cathryn Fox. Wow, I loved this. Get ready for plenty of steam, and plenty of swoon as you meet the Owens Crew.
Sean Owens couldn’t get out of Blue Bay, Connecticut fast enough when he turned eighteen. His father was more than tough on Sean and his brothers and he felt like he was never good enough. Over the thirteen years he’d been gone, he became a motocross star. Sean’s father has unexpectedly passed away so now Sean is coming back to Blue Bay. He left as the town bad boy. Now, all these years later, he wants to do right by his father and salvage his construction business. He wants to be the man his father wanted him to be. Will this small town give him a chance to prove he’s not that teenage wild card anymore?
Summer Wheeler lives in Southern California and has a successful chiropractic practice. She recently lost her father in an accident. She suspects, though, that it wasn’t really an accident. Then she overhears her boyfriend’s telephone conversation. He’s looking for something he thinks Summer has, and he’s willing to do anything to get it. So Summer runs.
With nowhere else to go, Summer goes back to Blue Bay where her family has a cottage on the beach. She uses an alias, Jenna Garridy, so her now ex-boyfriend can’t find her. The last stop before reaching Blue Bay, a cheap hotel and diner, Summer can’t believe who walks in, the boy she crushed on when she was a young girl in Blue Bay, Sean Owens. Only he’s all grown up now and wow did he grow up.
Sean couldn’t believe it when he walked in to that diner. There sat Summer Wheeler. He was older than her when he was a teenager so she was off limits then but he had a huge crush on her. Now the age difference won’t matter anymore.
Sean and Summer, aka Jenna, agree to a one night stand. But the next day when they both show up in Blue Bay, it becomes evident that there is going to be more than one night. A lot more.
Summer is trying to protect Sean and his family by using the alias. If her ex finds her, they will all be in danger. As the summer wears on, feelings deepen between Summer and Sean. Sean is starting to think that he wants more, he wants forever. He knows Summer is lying about her identity. He just doesn’t know why. It’s clear she’s in trouble and running from something. If she won’t trust him to tell him the truth, is there a future for them?
This book, sigh! I fell in love with Sean as well as his whole family, especially his Grandma Nellie who somehow wrangles all these men to do what she tells them to do. I think she is a big part of why these Owens men grew up to be respectful and successful. As I said before, there is plenty of steam with this one. Sean and Summer had no problem with chemistry, lots and lots of chemistry. But more importantly, though, the pull between them was so much more. I loved watching them both fall. There’s nothing more beautiful than watching an alpha man meet the woman he’s intended to be with, and letting down his guards and falling in love. I’ve only read the first book and I’m just in love with this series. The next book will be called Leveled. I can’t wait to see which Owens man meets his match next. The next book can’t get here fast enough.
Fantastic start to a new series! Love the interaction and chemistry between Sean and Summer (and fingers crossed Summer finds her perfect cup of coffee!) But for me, hands down Gramm is the best part of the story, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed she's in the rest of the series!
This unfortunately was a book that I couldn't get into but saying that, I would happily recommend it to others who enjoy this genre. It just wasn't for me.
This book was a bit of a surprise. Based off the title, cover and page count, I was expecting a fun, sexy read. I wasn't expecting it to be a romantic suspense. I enjoy a good romantic suspense and I did enjoy this one but I do think it needed more pages for it. The conclusion was just a teeny bit rushed. But, what I really liked about this story was Sean. I'm a huge fan of the possessive Hero's. He may have started out thinking Summer would be a temporary fling, but his thoughts and actions were of a man who wanted to possess and claim. I loved his protective and sweet side just as much as his dominant and possessiveness. Great read! ARC provided by NetGalley.
Demolished is a great romantic suspense. This story was hot, sweet and well paced!! With great character dynamics and a storyline that kept me engaged from beginning to end, Cathryn Fox has delivered a fabulous read and one I highly recommend to authors.
Sweeeet.
This was my entertainment while I camped at retro fest for the weekend.
The plot was pretty decent, not something I haven't read before but I really enjoyed it nonetheless. It didn't have a lot of drama or unnecessary angst thrown in which I loved. Just a good romance that progressed nicely with great loveable characters and a little suspense to keep us wondering what exactly her father was into. My only gripe is that I found the plot was dragged out (which I didn't mind.) but we don't find out answers until near end and then the story just finishes rather abruptly. I would have liked a little more after the drama not just a short explanation, wham bam thankyou mam type a thing.
Sean I loved from the start. He's that bad boy alpha that we all pine after. Absolutely gorgeous and so freaking sweet to!. I loved that he wasn't fooled by summers fake get up and instantly knew her even years down the line. I appreciate that even with a reputation he had, he didn't look at anyone but her. No unnecessary lady dramas just a sweet guy wanting to be the manly man in their not a relationship relationship.
Summer is equal parts beautiful as she is frustrating. Several times I had to shout at my kindle because she wouldn't come clean about her identity. The thing that saved her was how hilarious her shitty attempts were. I really enjoyed how sweet she is though. Not seeming to have a break after loosing everything, I was rooting for her to be happy. she definitely was the perfect sweet to Sean's badass.
Together they had that instant connection, chemistry that would blow your socks off and that click you get when two people couldn't be any better suited. I really enjoyed them as a couple, I laughed, cried and became frustrated with them. Their story is super cute, entertaining and a little emotional. And holy shiiiiiat!!! Cathryn was not messing around with those sex scenes. Girl, that shit was hoooot!.
Also an honourable mention to the side characters especially grams who I utterly adored.

I have awarded this story 4 of 5 stars as it was an awesome hot story. The writing was excellent.
Summer Wheeler has found herself in quite the predicament, and the only thing that seems to make sense to her right now is to change her identity and go on the run. So, she grabs a few things and hits the road, heading in the direction of one her favorite places on earth, Blue Bay, it's a magical place that holds a lot of sweet memories, and spawns a few spicy ones too. Her families summer cottage is there and will make a perfect hiding place from the danger that is lurking, but it is in need of some minor repairs. So she contacts a local contractor and gets the surprise of her life when her childhood crush comes to save the day...
Former town bad boy Sean Owens has returned to Blue Bay with good intentions, and a load of guilt. He is returning home to bury his father, and take over the family business, along with his brothers. His first plan of action is to make sense of all of his father's book work, then get things up and going again, and possibly back in the black. Then his plan takes an unexpected turn when the beauty from his past comes back into his world after all these years and needs his help. She needs some renovations done to her families summer cottage, and maybe a little reno on her heart too, and Sean is the man she wants for the job!
Once again I am left dazzled by Ms. Fox's words, the moment I cracked the cover on this one I was hooked, I just could not put this one down, I had to see if these two could find some common ground and maybe find love too. And I am happy to report that I found lots of good things between the pages of this one, it was mesmerizing, erotic, and oh so addictive! The instant these two waltzed back into each other's worlds, you could feel the sparks bouncing around between them, and as much as they tried to just keep things platonic, they just couldn't fight the sparks. What started just as a strings free thing, quickly became something else, something that they both needed, and never expected to find! I thoroughly enjoyed my time with these two and look forward to getting up close and personal with more of the Owens brother's very soon!! Highly recommend this one, it's sure to take you on an truly enjoyable literary escape!
4.5 stars. I was given the opportunity to read Cathryn Fox's In the Line of Duty about 3 years ago, loved it, and have followed her books ever since. Some I've loved, others not so much, but when I can get ahold of one of her full length novels, I'm in heaven! Demolished is the first book in her Blue Bay Crew series, and I really liked it. Loved the big bad boy Sean, and Summer/Jenna was the perfect fit for him. A lot of hot steamy interaction with these two, off the charts really, so hold on for the ride. Loved Scout was adorable, and you hope that Summer finally finds that perfect cup of coffee permanently! Loved all of the Owens brothers, Gramm was delightful! A few errors, but easily fixed, still an enjoyable read.

DEMOLISHED is exactly what I did to this sexy, sweet small-town romance that kicks off the Blue Bay Crew series by Cathryn Fox. I read about 12% late Friday evening and woefully neglected my chores to devour it Saturday. Hot and heartwarming with a touch of suspense, I am already loving this series and cannot wait for all of the brothers' stories.
Summer Wheeler recently lost her Dad when he died in a motor accident, but not before her gave her package with instructions on what to do if something happened to him. When, her boyfriend of six months, a Navy Officer who worked with her Dad begins asking about a book her Dad owned she senses danger and puts the contents of her Dad's package to use. She heads to their summer cottage. One neither had visited since her Mom's death there. She is using an assumed identity, that of her friend Jenna. While driving to Blue Bay, she stops at a greasy trucker stop for food and Sean Owen is there. She supplies him with her fake name and the two end up having a hot and sexy one night stand. Now, Owen recognized Summer right away, but if she wants to play strangers he is more than willing. Little do they both know, they are both headed to Blue Bay. Yep, this is gonna be good.
The story that unfolds is hot, sexy and humorous. Summer isn't fooling anyone yet she still refuses to admit she is Summer. Owen's own father has recently passed and he is back to take care of the families construction business. The old cottage is a sad state of neglect, and when Summer needs a handyman, folks refer her to the Blue Bay Crew and before you know it Owen is spending time working on the cottage.
Fox did a great job of introduces family members, local folks and giving us background on some of the local dirt and tiffs. The Owen boys are a handful and I absolutely loved the way their Gram wrangles them in and keeps them in line. Owen is having a hard time dealing with guilt and the loss of his Dad. Of course, I swooned for this sexy lug. I was in puddles when he brought Summer coffee. (quickest way to my heart) The summer progresses and we see an emotional connection develop between Sean and Summer that went beyond the sizzling chemistry.
The romance is hot with plenty of detailed scenes to over heat your Kindle, but it was balanced with growth, assorted threads and the suspense about the missing book. I wish, Summer had opened up to Owen but Fox allowed me to at least accept her reasoning. The drama was kept low, in part because Owen knew something was up but was respectful enough to wait Summer out.
The suspense thread was clearly in the background, but it did bring about a climactic scene, confessions and heart-melting moments. While you might have to swallow the little blue pill to believe it all, I had a complete blast with DEMOLISHED and cannot wait to revisit this town by the sea.
Cathryn Fox combines story, sex and suspense for a satisfying read.
Intriguing premise- Summer is on the run from an ex-boyfriend she suspects killed her father and is now hunting her. In an extreme contrivance, she bumps into an old crush who happened to save her life 13 years ago. They immediately hook up.
The intriguing premise didn't really fetnoff the ground until the end of the book. I would have like to see more suspense. What was written quite well was the feelings the hero felt over his dad, and it showed how a grown man must sometimes overcome the hurts of childhood and adulthood.
Summer is on the run after she heard a phone call. She never expects on her way to run into her childhood friend (Sean) she decides a one night stand is fine she will never see him again anyway.
As she makes it to her childhood cottage she has to hope no none puts it together and realizes who she is. Her Father always told her to not trust anyone.
Sean knows this is Summer and can;t figure out why she is hiding he has to get to the bottom as he knows she is in trouble.
Together they make a hot couple the heat is on and the story is there. I can't wait to get my hands on the next book in the series.
