Kit and Dillon... I'm really not even sure where to start with these two. This book. I just. I have no words to adequately describe how much I loved these two characters and their book!
Kit and Dillon have now taken the top spot as my favorite couple by Erin Nicholas. These two have competed since they were in the 3rd Grade. And even now that they have grown up, the two of them are working together in Chance, and they STILL cannot stop competing. It's addictive to read!
One night during a snow storm in Chance, the two of them finally come together while they are out at Kit's grandmothers house. When they finally talk about their feelings and allow themselves to really explore what it is between them, the chemistry is explosive. However, Kit likes routine, and cannot afford a distraction like Dillon being around all the time. Or can she?
Watching these two work through things, in and out of the bedroom (and office hah!) was a blast to read. I literally could not put this one down! Well done YET AGAIN, Erin Nicholas!
This was so cute! I enjoyed the romance and the story and liked the plot overall. Not a stand out but still enjoyable to read

I have a confession. I’ve had this book in my library for some time now but I was avoiding reading it, despite like Erin Nicholas‘a writing. You see the first two books in this series focused on the same event just with different couples and I was afraid that Turned Ip would be the same. It was not and I’m regretting waiting so long to read this book. Turned Up is Dillon and Kit’s book. You briefly see the couples from the first two old and the event that I mentioned above was referenced but it was not the main focus of this story. Kit and Dillon have always been rivals and their rivalry also pushed them to be the next. But their history is also complicated, fiery hot both in and out of the bedroom, but complicated. Everything changes when they’re caught in a snowstorm and Kit cannot run like she has in the past. I loved that this story deals with complicated emotions while not being an emotional roller coaster of dram.
I received this book for free from NetGalley. Thus is my honest and voluntary review.
What a fascinating book. I was impressed by the storyline and the characters were all well written and complex. Where there are complex storylines combined with intriguing characters the reader experience is magnified tremendously. To have a book that is well written as well as entertaining is a delight. Reading is about escaping your world and entering another one. The word building was phenomenal in this book. Here I forgot about my own life and was immersed in the world created by the author. I would recommend this book.
Erin Nicholas definitely turned it up with this book! I adored every moment and I was hooked in from the first page!

Erin Nicholas offers up a spicy, fun, and entertaining romance in Turned Up, the third book in her Taking Chances series. Rivals since childhood, Kit Derby, the town’s resident psychologist, and Dillon Alexander, one of the town’s physicians, explore a relationship that neither one can really define after years of one-upmanship, a teenaged tryst that left them both feeling things they had no idea how to handle, and a few other encounters that left them off balance. Packed with emotion, along with some truly fun and sexy times, I enjoyed Turned Up immensely.
There was something refreshing about this story in that Kit and Dillon compelled one another to do better, be better, to always strive for excellence and that isn’t a bad thing. Yes, these two were rivals and while at times they weren’t always nice to one another it was obvious to see that they always had respect for the other. Over the years they had moments that caused them to reassess their lives, moments that left them feeling raw, and moments that confused them all of which have led them on a journey to one another, albeit kicking and screaming.
Dillon has spent his life since medical school in intense situations, always helping those in need. Moving back home to Chance, Nebraska he has had to adjust his way of thinking when it comes to his patients. These are people he knows, people who knew him growing up, and people he will see day in and day out and for Dillon learning to connect and be more emotionally available is hard, but he also knows that with Kit’s help he can get there.
Since returning to Chance after medical school Kit has not only made a name for herself for the excellent mental health care she gives her patients, but also in the way she always is on top of everything, for her service to the community, and her dedication to every committee and event she volunteers her time to. She is confident, self sufficient, and strong but when she is around Dillon she feels different and that scares her more than anything.
I love that despite the fact these two pushed each other to always be better, that they challenged one another to do more that once they began to see each other as more than rivals they were off balance. Dillon wanted to be a better man, to be aware of his feelings and to offer his patients the support they needed. Kit feared losing herself, her edge because with Dillon around she was happy. At times I wanted to remind Kit that it is not good to try and self analyze, her internal struggles drove me a wee bit nuts, but I also loved that Dillon and her friends called her out on it more than once.
Seeing the couples from the other two books, plus the friendship between them all was charming and amusing and put a huge smile on my face when they were all together. Once again Erin Nicholas delivers big time with this excellent romance filled with friends, family, and small town antics.
Loved the 3rd book of the series Taking Chances! Kit Derby has been in love with Dillion forever! They were always competing against each other in school in their professional lives. The setting is in a small town in Nebraska and the snow storms and tornadoes are what really bring them together. Dillon was in a relationship with someone else but a tragedy happened. This book will keep you reading up and until the end. You can't wait to see what happens next! Erin Nicholas brings you right into the scenes like you are a part of the story! Great read!
This is Book #3 in the Taking Chances series. Another great book! Love Kit and Dillon together. Not going to think of Chutes and Ladders normally ever again!!

I really enjoyed this book. I was already familiar with the characters from previous books, I didn't feel as if i had to read the previous books in order to know the history of this book. It was a well written stand alone.
Dillon and Kit have been nemeses their entire life. But when they stop fighting the sparks really start to fly.
Thank you netgalley and Montlake romance for allowing me to read this title for an honest review.
I was so excited to read Turned Up and it did not disappoint. It was the 3rd book in the Taking Chances series but can be read as a stand alone (read the others though- they are amazing ;))
I loved the story between Kit & Dillon- they are both fun & sassy & their road to HEA is entertaining & exciting (with some serious sexy time thrown in)
Love Erin Nicholas!
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I enjoyed most of this book. I’ve read other books by this author and have enjoyed them, and this book was in the same vein. The frenemies angle was cute, too. There were a few things that bothered me, though. I liked the hero, but the heroine was kind of insecure. She had second thoughts about their relationship, but didn’t want to talk to the hero. Since she was supposed to be a psychologist I found that a little strange. And the drama at the end of the book was so unnecessary and unrealistic. Lastly, while I realize it’s nitpicking, I was bothered that, while stuck in a snowstorm, they never closed off the door that they broke into to get in the house. My mind kept wandering back and imagining all the snow piling up!
Turned Up was a great addition to the Taking Chances series. I was so excited to finally hear Dillon and Kit’s Story. I’ll be honest, I enjoyed this book so much that I kind of went on an Erin Nicholas reading spree and she is now one of my favorite authors.
Dillon and Kit might have a PhD in common but that seems to be about it. Well they both do love their town of Chance and their friends. These two have been sparing for years and when Kit steps on Dillion’s turf things hit a new level. Bring in a snow storm, a snowmobile, and being trapped and things will explode. Things seem perfect until Kit feels like she is loosing herself by being with Dillon. Will love or pride win out?
I loved this book! It was a lot of fun. Dillon and Kit are perfect together. While they have had a lot of history from the time they were teenagers, neither seems to want to acknowledge their real feelings. I loved that they got trapped into a situation and that they forced themselves to be honest. Their relationship was fun and touching. It made me want to read the other stories in this series. It's not necessary to enjoy this story, but I think the other stories would be as entertaining. Totally recommend this for anyone looking for a fun read. I received an advance copy for an honest review.
I always enjoy stories by Erin Nicholas, but I wish I would have read this in order. Kit and Dillon have been frenemies forever, so I think I would have enjoyed the story learning more about them in the previous books. This couple are competitive doctors always trying to outdo each other. The way they acted sometimes had me questioning their maturity at times, but all in all this is a fun-filled romance with a thorny couple who are meant to be together if they get it together.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
This was a great story. The characters and the plot were so realistic. I definitely have to go and read the first two stories of this series. All three couples were fabulous to read. Ms. Nicholas has a way of writing that just draws you into her world and captivates you. If you love a good read, then this one is for you. I highly recommend.
Awww all the squishy feelings these to gave me, I so didn't see that coming. Who would've thought conventional Kit was holding all that back for so long. It only took another hit from nature and an "innocent" game of Chutes and Ladders to bring on the truth. Thank goodness for awesome friends!
Kit and Dillon have always been the best at everything they do - including arguing and butting heads. They have also been attracted to each other for most of their lives.
Turned Up, the third book in the Taking Chances series, might be my favorite! I loved the back and forth banter between the two, and that they had no problem with being impressed by the other even while fighting.
This book also moves focus from the days following the tornado to a winter snow storm. I think the change of setting works well and keeps the plot from being stale. Especially since as Kit and Dillon are doctors their skills can be used in a variety of situations.
I definitely recommend this series, but especially Turned Up if you are looking for a fun and romantic book.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
This was a cute love story. Kit and Dillon have always competed against each other, every since they were young. Their competition has pushed both of them to be excellent in their chosen professions, Kit is a psychologist and Dillon is a doctor. When they get stranded in a blizzard, they are forced to admit that their relationship is more than just conflict; they both have genuine feelings for each other.
This was a cute, quick read. The character development was strong, I just found Kit a little annoying at times. There seemed to be no real reason why they weren't already together, except that Kit had a hard time trusting Dillon, for some reason.
