Roe and Robin are getting used to being parents to their baby Sophie. Roe is breast feeding and her life revolves around feeding and caring for her new baby. When Robin, who is up for an Anthony award, goes to Bouchercon, Roe doesn't want to tell him that she is coming down with the flu. She calls in Virginia Mitchell who helped when she and Sophie were just home from the hospital. Virginia will be there at night while Robin is gone.

Roe gets sicker and sicker but between Virginia and Roe's younger brother Philip they are surviving and Roe can be positive when Robin calls to check in. But one night, Roe wakes up to hear Sophie crying through the baby monitor. When she makes her way to Sophie there is no Virginia. She wakes Philip and their search of the house doesn't find Virginia anywhere. When they check the backyard, they see a body but it is not Virginia.

When the woman in the yard is identified as Tracy Beal. She had stalked Robin and attempted to kill Roe. Both Robin and Roe thought that she was still in police custody. When a neighbor says he thought he saw Robin in the yard at the time of Tracy's death, he comes under police suspicion until he can prove he was at the convention.

Besides wondering what happened to Virginia and wondering who killed Tracy, Roe's stepfather has a heart attack and is in the ICU. Her mother won't leave him and Roe has to fit in hospital visits to support her mother. Between a gift flower arrangement with no card, a missing sweater, missing keys, a stolen diaper bag, and a break-in, there are all sorts of clues for Roe to decipher.

This was an entertaining cozy mystery and just perfect for fans of the Aurora Teagarden series.

Sleep Like a Baby is the latest installment in Charlaine Harris’ Aurora Teagarden Mysteries . It has a compelling mystery and consists of several plot twists and turns that I never saw coming.

That said, this is definitely a cozy mystery, and it can be quite slow paced at times. Everything that Aurora does in her day to day life are included in the story. Maybe it’s because I don’t have children, (and I don’t suffer from baby fever), but I found that the descriptions and mentions of baby Sophie are in excess. I don’t think Aurora feeds her baby once over the span of this book without having to mention doing it. That said, I do appreciate a mystery that feels authentic, and the descriptions of Aurora’s everyday life add credibility to the story, making Aurora more relatable and fostering the reader's investment in the characters.

All in all, the mystery is compelling, the cover doesn’t give away who the killer is (like with a previous book in the series), and the characters are realistic and relatable. This is an enjoyable read.

This one is aptly named as everything revolved around new baby Sophie and her feeding schedule, it did sort of get old, but made sense too. It was crazy how things seemed to spin out of control through no fault of Roe's or her family. Worse was how people in the town seemed to blame them for what happened. It was nice to see Roe, Robin and Phillip stick together. I loved how Robin went as alpha male as he could and did what he could to protect his family.

Things seemed to come to a head pretty quickly at the end. Interesting how connected and not connected things were. I loved how Roe was able to stand up for herself when faced with danger, loved how she was able to figure things out. Much like Roe and Robin I was conflicted with what they learned. But to go back to the conversation that Roe had with Father Aubrey, she did what she had to, to protect her family.

Robin and Roe are new parents. Their newborn daughter, Sophie is proving to be a handful, Roe’s mother helps by paying for Virginia Mitchell, to come to their rescue for the first few weeks. Virginia is accommodating and steps in when Robin has to go out of town for work. To bad she goes missing and a dead body is found in the backyard.

Roe doesn’t want to worry Robin, so she keeps the fact that she is suffering from a severe case of the flu. A couple of nights after Robin leaves Roe wakes to hear her daughter crying, and Virginia is nowhere to be found. Roe and her brother. Philip searches the house and the back yard. What they find is a dead woman, but it isn’t Virginia. She doesn’t recognize the mystery woman and doesn’t know what happened to Virginia. Is she alive, or like the unknown woman in the backyard, is her body out there waiting to be found?

Series: An Aurora Teagarden Mystery - Book 10
Author: Charlaine Harris
Genre: Cozy Mystery
Publisher: Minotaur Books

In Sleep Like a Baby, the latest installment of the #1 New York Times Best-selling Charlaine Harris’s Aurora Teagarden series, Roe is a new mom with a dead woman in her backyard. She is sick and has a missing babysitter as well. Are the two events related or just coincidence? It is up to Roe to find out and quickly. The dead woman is ultimately revealed as Robin’s stalker and a woman who had tried to kill Roe in the past.

This is a heartwarming story of relationships, adventures in childcare and murder. The characters are well developed and have endearing personalities. Roe is a typical new mother, exhausted and proud, as well as worried. Readers with young children or new mothers will have no problem relating to Roe and everything she is going through.

The murder investigation is not as detailed as some readers may like, and in truth would not be very realistic. Having one of the lead detectives in the investigation as an old friend of the main character is a scenario that would, in real life, rarely, if ever, occur. A true detective would excuse himself from the investigation as being biased. However, this aside, the characters are beautifully written with just the right amount of eccentricities to make them believable.

Ms. Harris has a smooth, easy writing style and can tell a story. The book was not as fast-paced as others in the series and got bogged down with all the new baby and relationship issues. Unfortunately, the story seemed more about the new parents, their recent marriage, and Roe’s brother than about the murder and the victim. The main character, Roe did little to no investigation. The solution and unveiling of the killer was more of an accident than any real clues.

Sleep Like a Baby is a good story if the reader likes personal issues involved in their mysteries more than evidence or suspects and is interspersed with a family dynamic.

Am I so happy to have Aurora Teagarden back! Charlaine Harris had put her aside for a while. This is the second book since the revival and it is a good one.

Aurora is adjusting to life with a new baby, her new husband, Robin Crusoe and her nephew. Just as Robin is preparing to leave for Bouchercon, Aurora comes down with the flu. Robin calls in a nurse who disappears one night and while searching for her, Aurora finds a dead woman in her back yard. The unraveling of the mysteries is seen through the fog of Aurora's flu. Like most of life's mysteries, the solution is "satisfactory".

Eh, this book wasn't bad and I enjoyed catching up with Roe (although it's hilarious how much technology and pop culture have advanced in such a small piece of her lifespan), but the mystery just didn't do it for me. I had a vague feeling of where it was going and didn't feel too much suspense even when a stranger is sneaking into the house with the infant and babysitters are missing and stalkers are on the loose. A fine read, just not my favorite of the series. I'll keep reading them though if there are more to come because I do like Roe.

Charlaine Harris may be best know for her Sookie Stackhouse series, this Aurora Teagarden series is my favorite. This is book 10 in a series that has been around since 1990. Aurora has been through a lot and is finally happily married with a brand new daughter. She has her brother living with them and life is good until an old stalker shows up and is found dead in their yard. This series is also a tv show. I'd start with book one but you could certainly enjoy this book without all the previous who done its.

Wow wow wow, another great Aurora Teagarden book! This time Roe discovers a body in her own backyard, and there are a lot of suspects, motives and little on evidence. Also, her babysitter went missing while she was on duty.
Much like any Charlaine Harris book, I could not put this one down. I joke that if she wrote a shopping list I would find that entertaining. Luckily for me, this is a lot better than a shopping list. I can't quite describe it, but Ms. Harris knows how to write incredibly well. The characters are well thought out, the scenery- I feel like I am there, the mystery- tons of possible options with red herrings along the way. Old familiar characters, and new ones introduced. Unreliable witnesses, angry neighbors, with Roe involved it's always an adventure. My only criticism is I miss the Real Murders club.

Sleep Like a Baby is the tenth book in the Aurora Teagarden Mystery series. This can be read as a standalone but makes more sense if you have read the previous books. This is a cozy mystery so there is some violence.

The book blurb adequately describes the storyline so I'm not going to repeat all that info here. The author did a good job of explaining what is going on in the series for new readers. The characters are well written, even if you don't like some of them. There are clues in the storyline that keep you guessing what twists and turns will be revealed next. While the storyline is predictable, both old and new fans of the series will enjoy it.

I received a copy of this book from NetGalley and chose to leave a review for other readers.

The new entries for the Aurora Teagarden series are so welcomed, especially for librarians who have a special love for any series featuring libraries and/or librarians. This latest one is focused on new motherhood, as Aurora and Robin now have their newborn child. When murder arises, as it always does with Aurora, the domestic chaos is amplified with the newborn and with the immensely protective instincts of both mother and father. This series has good writing from the always dependable Harris, and the reader will delight in the new perspective of having a baby. Label this one heavily domestic, with the emphasis on motherhood, but readers who are mothers or fathers will relate.

One of the more annoying things in a mystery series is how improbable it is fir one person to keep finding themselves in trouble, and many authors have a hard time makibg it believable, but Charlaine Harris has done a wonderful job building Aurora's life. Sleep Like a Baby was believable, dramatic and fun.

This latest installment of the very popular Aurora Teagarden series, Roe is newly married and a new mother. While I understand the laser focus of new mother's on babies schedules, breastfeeding, etc. I have to admit that I grew quite weary of the whole baby thing. The mystery part lived up to Ms. Harris' usual inventive and interesting plot. I just wish there had been more mystery and less baby. The humor throughout helped keep interest high. Just not one of my favorite Roe books.

Poor Roe and Robin! Trouble is attracted to them like a bear to honey!

Trying to adjust to life as a new mother is proving to be a challenge. Sleep deprived, and now sick, Roe is happy to have Virginia back to help out while Robin is off to Nashville to accept an award.

But when she is jostled out of sleep by the baby monitor and her little girl crying, she can't find Virginia anywhere. And when she spies a body lying in the backyard that isn't Virginia she calls the police.

They take care of the body but where is Virginia? Her car is still parked out front and she has disappeared.

So who is this mystery woman in the yard and who killed her? Will life ever be normal in their world? Things happened at such a quick pace that this was a quick and easy read.

I look forward to seeing what is next for Roe and Robin.

I really enjoyed the early books in the series but the last two have just not been enjoyable.
I do not recommend this book but I do not publicly post negative reviews so I will not share this.

I love Charlaine Harris books. She out does herself again in her newest installment of the Aurora Teagarden Mysteries. In this book Aurora and Robin are now new parents and Philip still lives with them. As they adjust to the new lives with newborn Sophie. Robin is up for a big writers award and has to travel out of town to receive the award. Roe is feeling under the weather, so Robin calls Ms. Virginia to come help Roe out with the baby. While Robin is gone Ms Virgina goes missing and a dead woman turns up in the back yard. Who is this dead woman? How did she come to be in Roe's yard? And more importantly where is Ms. Virginia?

This book was really suspensful. There were some moments where I covered my mouth and was like oh no! There were some scary moments too. I love this series. I really enjoyed the story. Ms Harris is an excellent writer, capturing her audience with her writing skills. Her stories are fast paced and exciting. You will think you have the story all figured out and then the twist comes and you are like what?! No Way! I love the characters in this series. The characters are people you can relate to, dealing with real problems. Aurora is a librarian and Roe is a famous writer. They have dated earlier on in the series then he moved away. He then came back right around the time of her husband Martian's death. I always liked the chemistry between her and Robin and her brother Philip is such a sweet kid, you can't help but love him.

This series is also been made into Hallmark movies. If you love a good cozy mystery this is the series for you. I suggest you go out and pick up the first one Real Murders.

As always, the star of the cozy mysteries has a winner. Everyone can relate to a worn-out mother with a new baby, but most of us don't have a missing baby sitter and a dead woman in the back yard. This is a fun read with wonderful dialogue and twisty plot.
