I really enjoyed this novel that has more twists and turns than I ever imagined. I was hooked and would definitely recommend to those who enjoy mystery/suspense novels! Each character was well-developed and the plot took you on a wild ride with secrets, love and deception.

When I looked at this title, I assumed the title led to the person with the secrets and the one to watch for. However, after just a short way in, I was loving that the way the book is written was leading me to believe it could be anyone. That had me going for a loop. (Yay!!)
I assumed so many things when reading this book, yet unaware, there were several slight, subtle hints that slid by me unnoticed. Then the pieces start connecting, it was like a huge light bulb went off. The hints were there - working at Saks, no proceeds, etc. - but I didn't connect them right away. I mean, I wondered, but no way would I have been able to connect the dots. A masterful way to keep readers intrigued!!!
An excellent read with numerous plot twists and jaw dropping hints that kept up way into the night.

Really good psychological thriller. Had the right amount of twists and turns to keep you guessing. Definitely recommended.

Loved this book! I enjoy a great thriller with plot twists and turns that keep you guessing. This is one that you don't want to put down until you finish.

This is why I don’t write very many mystery or suspense reviews, y’all. It’s so hard not to give anything away! This book definitely falls into the suspense category, as there isn’t a mystery to be solved, just a twisty, turny story that makes you say “Wait, what?” several times and go back to reread pages at a time to make sure you had read them correctly.
What we know going in – basically nothing. The blurb tells us all of the things we will think while we’re reading this book and that we shouldn’t believe any of them. I really wish the blurb had been more vague; I don’t like being told ahead of time that there will be twists in a book. I end up spending more time looking for them and trying to figure out what they could be than actually enjoying the book.
What we figure out pretty quickly – A wife has been thrown over for a younger woman. She’s not handling it well, and there’s something in the way she recites her tale that tells us we’re not getting the whole story. She’s drowning her sorrows in wine that she hides from the aunt that took her in after her marriage fell apart, failing miserably at her new job, and obsessing about the new woman. It’s uncomfortable to read, especially because the writing has you feeling off-kilter about the entire situation. She’s shocked out of her malaise by the news, cattily delivered by an ex-friend, that Richard, her ex-husband, is engaged to her replacement. Finding out that piece of information sends her over the deep end. Or does it?
Part of the reason for the middle of the road rating is the story itself. Hendricks and Pekkanen try to convolute what is at its heart, a story we’ve read hundreds of times before. There wasn’t anything new here; it’s all well-tread territory. They try to make the story fresh by adding in several twists and turns, but most of them come across as entirely too elaborate, too purposely done, if that makes sense. Several of the unexpected reveals showed the work behind them. I’ll tell you, though, there’s a reveal right around the halfway mark that took me by complete surprise. And I don’t say that often. Unfortunately, the rest of the book fell a little flat.
Once we get a better handle on exactly what’s happening, this book turns into a pretty standard unreliable-narrator book, much in the tradition of Girl on the Train, Gone Girl, and all of the other books this one is being compared to. I don’t know if those comparisons are really warranted, though. It takes more than the potential for an unreliable narrator to warrant the “next major phenomenon” raves that we are constantly getting, and The Wife Between Us doesn’t quite get there.

Thanks to Netgalley for an early copy of this book. I've been a fan of Sarah Pekkanen's since her first novel and it was fun to see her branch out into domestic suspense here with her former editor. This book has a lot of twists, but at its heart it's the story of a marriage gone wrong and one woman's attempt to save herself from that marriage. The lengths she'll go to, and the people who will get hurt along the way, are all part of this twisty journey. For fans of grip lit!

My first best read of 2018! The Wife Between Us is seemingly along the same vein as Girl on a Train. You won't want to put it down until the last page is read!!! Definitely a must read for the year!

This book was amazing! It was very twisty and kept me on the edge of my seat. It was a wonderful mystery and thriller. I enjoyed every moment of it! Highly reccomend for the suspense lover.

OH my, where to begin?! I wasn't really sure how to rate this book - in the beginning, I felt it was slow going and I probably was at a 3 star rating but then things started getting interesting and there were twists and turns and things that made you question what you'd already read. There were many times when I would re-read parts to make sure I was following along correctly, and even then, I was still sometimes confused. At some point in the book though, it all seems to fall into place and it starts making sense...and then I couldn't put it down! Holy moly was it an interesting read! When I finished this book, I had the same feeling after watching Sixth Sense. After all is explained at the end of the movie, I wanted to watch it again to see the clues that I missed along the way. Same sort of thing with The Wife Between Us - I want to re-read it, knowing now what I know about it and see if it makes a little more sense from the beginning. This book was a thinker for sure!.

The Wife Between Us was a fantastic escapist read. Don't be fooled, this isn't your typical "affair gone wrong" novel!

One of the best suspense novels that I've read in a long time. Fast paced story, keeps you guessing! I will buy every book from this author!

5 stars!!! I couldn't put this one down. A thriller that will blow your mind.

This book for a slow start for me but got better about 1/3 in. Every time I thought I had figured it out, another twist would change everything! I enjoyed this story a lot and told a few friends to read it as well. Thank you to the publisher for the copy of this e-book I exchange for an honest review.

OH MY GODS, WHAT A THRILL. This was filled with twists that I never saw coming and it was absolutely brilliant. It wholly stands on its own, without the need to be compared to anything else.

This book really pulled me in, compelled me to read to the end as fast as I could. I thought the twists were well done and unexpected. Though I did think something at the end was too coincidental for me, and I would have preferred the story didn't use it.

It is typical to think of these types of thrillers as "beach reads", so I was happy to find myself with some time on vacation to soak this one up. I enjoyed trying to figure out the mystery (no spoilers), and did find myself surprised by some twists and turns. For a thriller, it hit the marks. But my only complaint was that at the end I couldn't help but feel that it was a little unnecessarily complicated and there were some threads not tied up that nagged me. But I would much rather have a more complex book than a simplistic one. Thanks to St. Martin's Press for the advanced readers copy in exchange for my honest review.

I was happy I think, but I wonder now if my memory is playing tricks on me. If it is giving me the gift of an illusion. We all layer them over our remembrances, the filters through which we want to see our lives.
I cannot give anything away but just this...there is a twist. Nothing is what it seems. It is calculated emotional baggage. A marriage that is an illusion of bliss but is actually controlled. A woman who does not know the trap she is in until she takes control. Is she insane or does she lose herself in the deceit.
A husband who has it all. Who is attentive, generous, but to what gain.
The narrative is engaging because you know enough until you know it all.
Marriage is never what it seems.
A Special Thank You to St. Martin's Press and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review.

Wow! What a wild ride. This is a well written, absorbing psychological thriller that keeps you reading and wondering. The twists are astounding. The one at the end of part 1 left me puzzled until finally there was a light bulb moment. The plot cannot be revealed in much detail without spoiling the story. Just heed the warning and don't assume anything.

I don't want to say too much in my review because I don't want to give anything away - but I will say this story was fantastic! Suspenseful, intelligent, well-written - a total must read!!!

Wowza what totally twisty goodness!! This one started out a slow burn then once it took off I couldn't stop listening! Twist after twist reveal after reveal, some I saw coming many I did not!
I will admit to being very confused for the 1st half of this book then the second half was a lot of
Wait What??!!?? What??!!?? OMG What??!!?? Ha this is a really hard book to review because I don't want to give anything away so I will just say hype is well deserved!
Julia Whelan's narration was as always amazing she really brought the emotion to these women and her voice never gave things away which is a talent in and of itself!
This one will definitely be on many lists for this year. I recommend this one!
