Picking up where the previous book ended, Eve Dallas finds herself and her squad investigating the seemingly random death of an aspiring Broadway actress. Soon they realize that there is a serial killer acting out the plots of mystery books. Will Eve and her crew stop the killer before the next victim runs out of time?
I loved the fast-paced tempo of the book.
Another tale about Dallas and her co-workers and her special husband. Read, read.
The thrill of Eve and Roarke may be over. The books are simply becoming too formulaic. The setting for the murder may have been new, but little else was. The zing is simply gone. Everyone central to the main characters has had their own “story” so (blasphemy here) perhaps it is time to put this series to bed. I remember eagerly waiting for the next Eve/Roarke book to be released. Now it feels like a chore to read them.
