Commitment combines humor and the realities of domesticity to illustrate the struggles of a contented couple who stumble across temptation. Fidelity and the moral questions surrounding whether or not to act on feelings blur the boundaries of marriage. Dean and Natasha share through dual points of view highlighting how simple miscommunications can snowball from a minor annoyance to a deal breaker.
Ms. Golland has a distinctive style to her writing, utilising humour and not mincing her words when describing everyday challenges. The humour borders on to being full on school-boy/toilet humour at times– this rarely works for me but I had no trouble overlooking it as I was keen to uncover how Dean and Natasha would navigate the mess their marriage was becoming.
What I enjoyed about this story was I had no idea whether they could make their marriage work. More I was unsure which direction I wanted the story to take. When each twist occurred, it presented all sides equally and it highlighted nothing was a simple choice.
This was a realistic and frank account of a long term relationship, taking the mickey out of some of the more over the top shenanigans other couples get up to in romance books. Their take on a steamy shower scene was hilarious. It could have easily ended up with one or both of them in an emergency ward! Thankfully, no characters were hurt as a result of this reality hit!
The integration of family time provided a plethora of entertainment. There wouldn’t be many an adult who will have had the joy of being responsible for a child and hasn’t encountered at least one of the cringe worthy moments Natasha had to face.
Commitment is a story I enjoyed despite my eyeball rolling moments with some of the humour. Having read the first two books in the Satisfaction series, I found no trouble getting into this book. Interestingly, I thought I knew what would happen but each twist in the plot pivoted the story slightly different to what I anticipated. Be sure to shop around for this book if you want to read it, at the time of writing this review the pricing varied considerably between vendors!

KM Golland has delivered yet another amazing book!
I haven't laughed so much while reading in a very long time. Tash is one of the funniest characters to ever grace the pages of a book and poor Dean is just trying to find his way through married life.
This book has so many real world relations that I felt that there was some awesome advice to take away from this. I felt I related to Tash on a level that I've never felt before while reading.
I'm almost tempted to get my husband to read this so we both can learn something new!
I love this series but most of all I love this book (maybe more than donuts)!
My first book by K M Golland but it won't be my last.
Commitment is Book #5 in the Temptation series but I had no difficulty reading thus as a standalone. I will be now going back through this series and catching up with the rest because this was a wonderfully written story with genuine heart and a descent dose of humanity and reality.
Tash and Deans story is your typical one of a long term marriage that has hit that random rough patch where work and family commitments seem to constantly push their connection to the back burner. Their spark just doesn't seem to be there anymore, though it's certainly not dead, just out of synchronisation and a hint of infidelity just adds to the mix, creating a story that's funny, thought provoking and a gem to read.
I'll definitely be reading more of this series.
Commitment , a contemporary romance by K.M.Golland is a book about re-discovering love and bringing passion back into your relationship.
I've never been married and the longest relationship I've had lasted for about a year and a half, so I couldn't really relate overmuch to the issues the characters faced in this story but it did give me great insight into the problems and issues that those people lucky enough to be involved in longterm relationships might encounter.
The story was sweet, sexy and the way the characters found their way back to each other and their passion was compelling and hot.
I really enjoyed this book and would definitely recommend giving it a read.
An arc of this book was generously provided to me by Netgalley in exchange for a fair and honest review.
This book blew me away. It certainly went a completely different direction to what I was expecting! Here's some of the notes I made whilst reading it - "my mummy mantra. I made it. I birthed it. It's mine. I have wine." <--- hehehehehe accurate.
"""OMG I just laughed out loud without realising. So loud everyone in the room looked up and asked me what was so funny"""
Whilst this book was full of humour, there was so much depth and realness to it, that sometimes I swore the author was in my head!! This book is about life, love, family, discovery, mistakes, love, life, family. I honestly loved it.
I really love KM Golland's humour and thoroughly enjoyed this book. I can't believe I haven't yet read the others in the series. That's about to change!
This book was great read
Dean and Natasha have been married for a long time. They have kids and also their careers are so busy
But when you kids , mortgage and work
Through the book you see what the couple have to go through to have a better marriage , will their marriage survive
Won't ruin anything for you guys
Can't wait to read something from K.M. Golland
This is a story that gives a fresh spin on the standard romance novel. Steamy, sweet and funny by turns - with enough angst to keep you guessing! Well worth a look (PS - great to read a contemporary Australian story without the cringeworthy "Oz-cliches"!)
I'm on the fence with this book. I loved the temptation series and Kelly's writing just this was just missing something. I just didn't feel it. Sorry.
It's been a while since we have been in "temptationland", however as soon as I picked up Commitment to read, it was like I had never left.
KM Golland really has a way with words, and I was expecting her flair for fun and flirtatious stories to come to the fore with Commitment.
It did that, however Commitment is so much more.
Tash and Dean's marriage is well past the honeymoon stage, it is long work hours, kids, housework. They are in a bit of a rut, however those wedding vows are still important. They just need to find their way back to each other.
Their story is beautiful, emotional and poignant. It will make the reader look at their own relationships in a different way.
I adore both Tash and Dean - there is no bad guy in this story, just time and circumstance has brought our lovelies to where they are today.
I LOVED getting my Brylexis fix! Still love them as much as I did when I first read them. And get them in a room with DIK and Carly and this girl was in temptation heaven!
There are plenty of laugh out loud moments, especially with Tash and Lexi - those two are my #FriendshipGoals
Commitment was a book that I couldn't put down, and I already want to go back and read it again.
**scheduled for blog closer to release day**
I have really missed this authors flair for writing hilarious stories!
This book was no different and I loved it immensely!
Commitment! You commit when you marry, in sickness and in health, blah blah....
What happens when down the track, there's work, kids, housework etc and when do you have time to connect with your partner on an intimate level??!! As a mum, well, if you are one, this book will hit close to home! There really is a message in this book and you will have to read it to find out what I mean
Tash has a great job, a loving husband and 2 boys....she's stuck, she wants something and when something happens at work should she risk everything she holds dear in life??? I really felt for her! I actually feel part of her life is quite similar to mine...
I loved the different point of views, I especially loved when the women gave each other advice as did the men!! I also loved the way Alexis and Tash were, their hilarious words and heartfelt moments just sealed the deal that friends are really needed in life, as a kind of counselor to your feelings and turmoil inside!
I loved Deans take on things and I thought maybe in our everyday life we get stuck in a rut and don't appreciate family, when we should be doing just that!!
I feel like I really understand Tash to tell you the truth and I really want to read this book all over again!!!
Absolutely loved it and would highly recommend this book!!
I'm ashamed to say this is the first book I have read by this author but what a book to start with, it's hilarious and I mean snort out loud hilarious......
Commitment is book 5 in the Temptation Series but I'm proof they can be read as standalones, this is Tash and Dean's story and it's a story that I'm sure will ring true with many couples who have been married for many years, trying to juggle work and home life with a couple of kids. Tash and Dean have it all, two adorable sons, great family and friends but they never seem to have time for just them, Dean still sees his beautiful sexy wife he married over a decade ago and Tash still sees the gorgeous hunk she fell in love with all those years ago but how do you keep that spark going how do you have scream out loud sex with two little boys sleeping down the hall. .........
This book had me in stitches but it's not just a comedy it's a love story, it's hot and it drew me in and there was no way I was putting it down til I had read the last line. I fell in love with this couple well I felt like I knew them or did the story ring true to me either way I'm going to say this is a must read and I need to read not only the other books in this series but I also need to read the other books K.M. Golland has written some of which are sitting on my kindle now.
