Loved it ! Loved Maeve , loved Derwent loved it all. A twisty tale that will not leave you alone, dark and grisly with plenty to keep your mind whirring over this is a classic UK cop drama that will stand the test of time.
I’m off now to read the previous books of Maeve and I can’t wait fo4 the next instalment

Finally get round to read a Jane Casey book! I was so excited and this did not disappoint. It’s a page turner thriller that will keep you hooked throughout and until the very end! Great book! Thanks NetGalley for the ARC in return for this honest review.

One of my favorite crime series! This book is another excellent addition and I highly recommend it to fans of clever crime fiction, with twisted plots, engaging characters and engaging writing!

Jane Casey has come up trumps again with this, book number eight in the Detective Maeve Kerrigan series.
As with her previous books, it is well written with a riveting story line and well drawn characters.
I love this series and totally recommend it!!!

I adored this clever, funny, twisty instalment in the Maeve Kerrigan series. Jane's books are my go-to recommendation for those that love police procedurals (and even those that don't). I loved loved loved it.

Lots of Good Twists & Turns.
This is a real Cat & Mouse Crime story, quite a few different plots interwoven between some of the main Characters & it had me guessing until about two thirds of the way through, some of it's details might be a bit gruesome for some people, but a good crime story.

It can’t be easy for authors of police procedurals to come up with interesting new angles, but Jane Casey has done just that for Maeve Kerrigan’s eighth outing – she and Josh Derwent are re-investigating the alleged crimes of a man convicted of murder who has every chance of winning an appeal against his conviction. The developments thorough the story are interesting, the recurring characters and their relationships are evolving nicely, and the book as a whole is a solid addition to the series.

This was the first in the Maeve Kerrigan series that I had read and I enjoyed this book so much that I ordered all the previous books in the series and am enjoying reading my way through them. Whether this is the first or the 8th Maeve Kerrigan book you have read I guarantee you will love it. I certainly could not put it down and loved Jane Casey's voice, writing and characterisation - fabulous!!

Gripping thriller and tale of whodunnit. Was an innocent man found guilty of crimes he didn’t commit? Who was responsible instead? All the characters in the book are linked in some way and provide for an unexpected ending.

A great novel with lots of twists and turns keeping you hooked. No chance of putting this down till the very end!

Love this series of books and this one was no disappointment. Love the characters and the plot and the writing style. Looking forward to the next one

The first book I have read by this author. I soon became gripped by the story and couldn’t put the book down. I loved the twists and turns that left you unsure of who had committed the crimes right until the end. I’m looking forward to more in this series

This is a very engaging book, it flows well and has satisfying twists along the way. I was surprised to find out it was book 8 in a series featuring DS Maeve Kerrigan, and I don't think it affected my enjoyment at all...looking forward to finding others in the series now. Recommended!

Omg, these two are back, I absolutely love maeve and Josh, these books draw you in and make you feel as if you are there with them, absolutely thrilling read, you can't got wrong with Jane Casey

Coming back to the story of Maeve feels a little bit like coming home. The characters are so well defined and rounded that you pretty much know what you're going to get from them. This time around Maeve and Josh are investigating a serial killer, who on a technicality, has been released from jail. Leo Stone is everything that you would expect from a killer, rough with a history of violence and prison spells he's the obvious suspect.
Reinvestigating the case means looking at it with fresh eyes, and Maeve does what she does best, she starts to see things that no one else has seen before. When another girl goes missing the investigation goes into hyperdrive. Once again, the book is full of twist and turns, and everytime I think I've gotten the better of the story, I'm proved wrong. A thoroughly enjoyable read!
The relationships in this book are still complex, I can imagine if you haven't read one before you miss the intricacies, but I think Jane Casey is playing more to her loyal fans than new readers. As always, a good outing from Kerrigan and Derwent.

I've read all Jane books and once again it a brilliant story, I love the way derwent and Kerrigan have a love hate relationship it really make me smile.
I'm so shocked at what happened I never thought I'd see that twist coming.
Cant wait to see what happens next.

A solid crime novel. I did not realise when I started it that it was part of a series. It reads well as a stand alone but I'm sure I would have enjoyed it more if I had read them in order. A believable, realistic main female lead character and a gripping case to solve. I will be reading more.

I was captivated from the start. The character of Maeve Kerrigan is strong, powerful and yet sensitive and imperfect. With a good head on her shoulders and a way of dealing with sexist and racist remarks from some colleagues she also works well with other colleagues. She is a refreshing female lead who is excellent at her job. The story grips you from the start and just as you think things are about to be resolved something else happens to change all that. Kerrigan is a character women readers should read more of. This was my first book with her character byt I will be reading all the rest of the series, right from the beginning now. The plot draws you in, keeps your attention and Kerrigan's performance enthralls right up to the surprising end. This is a role model character all girls should read.

This was another thrilling read by a talented author! I love the Maeve Kerrigan series and can't wait to some more.
Really entertaining!

Thanks Netgalley and the Publisher. No. 8 of the Maeve Merrigan series which will have you hooked right at the beginning. All I can say is a big WOW
