If you are looking for an edge of your seat thriller, this book (and series) is for you. This is the second book (third if you count the novella) in this series of books and it is just as good as the first! I couldn't put it down and I kept trying to figure out what/who to believe and what was going to happen next. I read the novella and was hooked, love the character of Dr. Evelyn Talbot. As a young woman she was traumatized by her boyfriend who assaulted her and killed her friends. As an adult, she is a psychiatrist running Hanover House, home to some of the worst criminals in the United States. Hanover House is located in Alaska and it is where Dr. Talbot continues to meet terrible criminals, including Dr. Lyman Bishop (The Zombie Maker). This story finds Evelyn trying to decided if Bishop is truly the evil man he has been convicted to be, or if a mistake is made. The mystery kept me guessing! Along with the Bishop storyline, Jasper Moore-the man who tried to kill Evelyn as a teen-is still causing trouble as he kills again and again and puts her life on edge. The two stories are becoming closer and closer as Jasper is trying to get a job at Hanover House. With the support of her boyfriend Amorak, a state police officer, Evelyn tries to balance her world and relationships. I love these books and I can't wait to read more of Evelyn's story!! Thank you netgalley for an ARC for my honest opinion.

Many thanks to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for a digital arc of this novel.

Having read Hanover House, a novella, and Her Darkest Nightmare, a novel, I had been ready for this next book in the series and settled down to enjoy it. This one is still a very good story, well written with characters you can easily like or, in the case of the serial killers, very easily dislike. My problem is that I'm seeing so much of a sameness about all three of the stories involving this main character that I'm wondering how much longer I will be willing to stay with the series. Having set her story in the tiny town of Hilltop, Alaska, has become very limiting for author Brenda Novak. I'm ready for some moving around from that location because just how many blizzards can we have without beginning to notice the weather is always a large part of the story? This series is going to have to move away from Hilltop to snag my interest next time. Surely there must be a police force somewhere that needs to consult with Dr. Talbot about a possible serial killer investigation they have going. Let's hope.

Dr. Evelyn Talbot has accomplished her ambition of establishing a maximum security prison devoted only to serial killers so that research can be carried on regarding why they do the horrible things they do. Hanover House was not popular when it was first proposed to the citizens of Hilltop, but things seem to have settled down on that front and Dr. Talbot has just had Lyman Bishop, nicknamed the Zombie Maker, transferred to Hanover House. She is ready to get down to some serious psychological evaluation with Bishop, but always keeps in mind her own experience with Jasper, a friend from high school, who kidnapped and tortured her when she was fifteen. What new insights or information will she get from Bishop and what blockbuster situation will change everything for him?

I liked this story, but when considered as a series it seems to be staying too much on the same track where the psychology is concerned without actually doing much research and having more and more of the personal romantic life of Evelyn take over the focus. That's not why I began reading this series so I will be very careful before I read the next book. No more automatic reading for me. For readers new to the series, I would suggest that you begin with the novella at least before reading this one. That way you will get the most information about Dr. Talbot's past experiences with Jasper, the serial killer she had her own horrible experience with and the reason she is so passionate about the research opportunity Hanover House presents.

Awesome!! I love this series of books. The serial killers Dr Evelyn Talbot studies are chilling. The suspense Brenda Novak is able to create is addicting. I couldn't gobble this book up fast enough. Lyman Bishop truly is a monsters, but he is good at convincing you otherwise. You find yourself actually considering his lies. And to think that on top of everything else in Evelyns life that is going on, the man who almost killed her when she was 16, Jasper is right under her nose and she doesn't know it. It's about to get good, folks. Can't wait for the next book.

This is shaping up to be a very interesting series with a complex plot that keeps getting more dangerous and compelling. I liked Evelyn Talbot in the first book, but in this one she gets even better. The author offers us a chance to get to know her main character much better, recounting the events in her past and showing us glimpses of what could be in store for her future.

Brenda Novak handled the murders in this book with grace. They aren't overly graphic or disgusting, but she gives just enough to terrify you and make you want to double check the locks on your doors at night. I liked the way she depicted the strain on the relationship between Evelyn and her boyfriend, caused by the stresses of the jobs they hold and other, outside factors.

You can tell that a lot of research into criminology went into this book and I found the entire thing interesting and well-written. This book has a tight plot and makes you want to keep turning pages. The ending was unexpected and left me wanting another in the series as soon as possible.

This is the kind of book that will not fade from your memory and will keep you checking to see when the next novel is out. Definitely recommended for those who like suspense thrillers.

This review is based on a complimentary copy from the publisher, provided through Netgalley. Al opinions are my own.

This series keeps me on the edge of my seat, constantly jumping at every little noise around me. It's is one of the best psychological thrillers, full of suspenseful wists and turns. Yet it has some caring characters - the ones that aren't psychotic, that is. The ending will make your heart beat right out of your chest. And with the way the book ended, you know this will continue well into the next book or two or more. I was not able to put it down except to sleep and work. I highly recommend this series - if you can stand being on the edge of your seat the entire time, that is.

OMG! The author just leaves you breathlessly hanging at the end of this book. I want the next in the series now!!! Jasper is back but now he has slowly woven his way back into Evelyn's life. How? Well you will have to read this very suspenseful 2nd book in the series to find out. Evelyn and Amarok are such great characters I love reading about them. Suspense, great characters and lots of thrills what more could you ask for in a thriller!? I also loved the story line of trying to figure out Bishop ..is he a killer or is he innocent? Great series definitely one of my favorite by Brenda Novak. I highly recommend reading. This is a not going to put down till I'm finished thriller!!!!

First of all, thank you NetGalley! I love this series and was thrilled to be allowed to read an advanced copy of this book.

WOW! I could not put this book down. This series just keeps getting better and better! I love the depth of the characters and the complicated dynamics and plot twists. What could be more interesting, suspenseful, and terrifying than brilliantly ruthless psychopaths in a prison working with a beautiful, intelligent, yet vulnerable doctor? The Alaskan setting adds an eerie and isolating element that is just perfect for this series.

And, as if what goes on at Hanover House and the psychos (yes, more than one) plotting to get revenge on our heroine isn't enough, now there is even a romantic foil thrown in the mix.

I can't help but root for Evelyn to find peace and happiness (even thought it will mean the end of the series). She is one brave lady and I can not wait for the next book in the series.

5+ stars for this one!

Full review to be published online in early October.

HELLO AGAIN is the second full length book in Brenda Novak’s intriguing “Evelyn Talbot Chronicles” and this series just keeps getting better. The reader really needs to start with the first book, ‘Her Darkest Nightmare’, to really know what is going on. I would also reading the novella, ‘Hanover House’ also, as it gives the reader more background on Evelyn Talbot’s character.

HELLO AGAIN picks up about a year after the previous book. A number of familiar characters are back, and a few the reader may wish to forget. There is a lot more from Jasper in this book which is fun to read, as well as to get a more personal side of Evelyn. Bishop and Jasper add the creepy, sick, serial killer element. One is locked up at Hanover House; and the other, Jasper, is still free to torment Evelyn.

The only downside to reading HELLO AGAIN so quickly is the long wait for the next book in this fascinating series.

Outstanding work!
Well-written fast paced thriller with bone chilling details.
This is one book difficult to put down, there is so much going on in the plot and subplots that the interest level becomes so high that you will want to know who did it.
The characters are well developed and the author sure did her research to accurate portrait the mind of a psychopath.

Wow this book had me on pins and needles down to the last few chapters. It was even more heart throbbing wondering how is this going to end and could I wait how long after for another installment. In this third installment of Evelyn Talbot Chronicles its been eighteen months since her second attack by Jasper her high school boyfriend who turned out to be a serial killer. Eveylyn has just had the Zombie Maker transfered to her jail. He is Dr. Lyman Bisho a scientist like herself. He is accuse of ice picking his victims. Bishop is hard to read being he never confessed to being a killer and having the education he is far more an intriguing character than other psychopaths she has death with. Not only is she trying to discerning Bishop she has to deal with Dr Fitzgerald who was fired from her jail a year ago and is still trying to win his way back to Hanover by incessant calls to her then she finds out one of her high school friends have been killed and she wonders if Jasper is striking again. There is not one but several issues going on that you as a reader have you at the edge of your seat to know what happens next. Evelyn and Amorak relationship is still thriving eventhough he is pushing her for a more serious commitment (marriage) and she wondering if she could truly be happy in Alaska. Loved the plot hate that it ended but know from the ending that there is at least another book coming. Review can be found on goodreads and amazon.com

Brenda Novak is a master storyteller! The third in a series, this book is a thriller that's full of suspense, but it's also one of the best love stories I've ever read. If you're interested in the study of Psychopathy, this is the series for you!
