This book is so great! I never read after getting in bed, but I seriously found myself reading this under my blanket after my husband fell asleep. To me, this is a well written, lighthearted book that gives readers hope that happy endings are definitely possible. Each character was so unique, likable, and relatable - I could see myself being bffs with Robyn and having a schoolgirl crush on both of the guys.
Kudos to Ms. Schorr for an outstanding book!

This was a new author for me and I was definitely not disappointed.
The situation was far-fetched but it was a very funny and entertaining read.
Robyn and Sidney aren’t friends but are acquaintances. After a night of drinking Sidney convinces Robyn that they must swap boyfriends for the holidays. She doesn’t want her parents to like him and give her a hard time about settling down and she knows they won’t like a struggling actor. Robyn’s parents don’t like Perry (the struggling actor) so she decides to lie and say she as a successful lawyer boyfriend. Not knowing that the lawyer is actually her teenage crush Will.
I really liked the characters of Robyn and Will. They had a cute friendship going on and it was written very well. It was obvious where the story was going with all of the characters but this is a perfect lazy afternoon read.
I enjoyed it and read it fairly quickly after starting.
I will definitely be keeping an eye out for books from this author in the future.

The Boyfriend Swap is another example of opposites attract. Swapping boyfriends for the holidays just to spite your parents was bound to backfire though it did have a happy ending.

I’ve enjoyed every book Meredith Schorr has ever written, so even if she hadn’t told me what The Boyfriend Swap would be about, I’d read it just because she wrote it. It’s just a bonus that the concept was clever and would pave the way for many amusing situations. It made me think of a book called The Great Mom Swap that I read as a kid. However, this one had a more romantic element to it!
From the implementation of the boyfriend swapping plan to watching it unfold at Sidney and Robyn’s family homes to the aftermath of the plan, I was hooked. I don’t celebrate Christmas, but this story allowed me to enjoy it vicariously (there were some Hanukkah parts too). I was able to relate more to Robyn than to Sidney, but I still enjoyed the parts where Sidney was telling her side of the story.
By the time I got to the final page, I was laughing and crying at the same time. The Boyfriend Swap is a book you’ll definitely want to unwrap this holiday season!
I’ve heard buzz about how this would make a great Hallmark holiday movie. I agree, but would be glad to see it on any channel! I cast two of the actresses from The Bold Type as Robyn and Sidney. It made sense with their personalities and appearance. (The guys were harder to cast…)
Robyn: Katie Stevens
Sidney: Meghann Fahy
Perry: Austin Butler
Will: Robbie Amell
Ann-Marie: Britt Robertson
James: RJ Mitte

What happens when girlfriends decides to swap boyfriends to take to their parents for Christmas holidays? Trouble!
Both are dating guys that their parents do not approve of as they keep getting introduce to other men As the holidays approaches, both envision a nightmare. When another friend suggest that they swap boyfriends if they are willing.
Could their parents be right as the holiday season is spent with different partners? What will the holiday season bring? A humourous chik-lit story.

This was like reading a Hallmark Christmas movie! A delightful tale about some late 20's New York working women who hesitate to bring their boyfriends home for Christmas because of their parents judgements. After several bottles of wine at a wine tasting party, a plot is hatched to switch boyfriends for better parental results. Surprisingly the guys go along with the plan, and even more surprisingly, one switch results in the couple having gone to highschool together and a mad crush was involved. Suffice to say things didn't quite go according to plan. But you will have to read it yourself to find out the funny details.
I enjoyed this book a lot-the characters were all very different and well developed. The different careers discussed were researched and realistic. Dialog was funny at times and again very realistic for the situations. I loved the extended family descriptions and input for both women. It was definitely a book that makes you appreciate family and your own (hopefully) non-judgemental parents! Fun and recommended light read for any time of the year even though it takes place at the Christmas holidays.

I was given an advance copy of this book in exchange for an unbiased review. I think the premise of this romance is good - but something was missing for me. Maybe the dialogue was a little contrived and the two female characters seemed to have strange motivations, but I just couldn't get into it. Maybe this would suit a younger audience, but as a reader in their 40's, I need more substance.

A great story just in time for Christmas. Highly amusing story of swapping boyfriends for the Christmas holidays to keep the parents at bay. What follows is great fun.

I love Christmas books and The Boyfriend swap didn’t disappoint! I loved it and highly recommend it! You won’t want to put it down until u see what happens to everyone! Sometimes in life you think you have it all figured out until life throws you a curve ball and you find out what you really want out of life and love wasn’t what you first thought!

I did not finish this book. Really isn't the genre that read often.

4.5 stars - What fun!
The idea of a boyfriend swap was initially proposed by a mutual friend as a solution to Sidney and Robyn's holiday anxiety. The women agree to talk to their other halves about making the switch just for the holiday weekend in hopes of alleviating parent grief and interference. When the couples meet for the first time, Robyn discovers that her high school crush, Will, is Sidney's boyfriend. A fake relationship never looked so good.
For me, Robyn and Will are the stars of this read. Sidney and Perry, the other halves of the actual couplings are interesting, but supporting characters. Will is genuine, fun and funny. I was crushing on him myself.
If you love friends to lovers stories, holiday reads, quirky family traditions, or a bit of humor with your romance, you can't go wrong with this one. Even if you're not keen on any of the above, but love romance, you won't be disappointed.

What a fantastic book to binge read. I started this on a slow day at work (shh!), thinking I would read a few lines and continue on for the next couple days, as is my normal routine. Well, I must say, this book just sucked me right in like my favorite romcom. The Boyfriend Swap is joyfully written to play like a movie in your head. You can picture the characters, laugh at the good lines, cringe at the awkward scenes, and simply get caught up in the mood of the story. If you love movies like How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days and Love Actually or books like Emily Giffin’s Something Borrowed, you will devour Schorr’s book like I did. You have the childhood crush, the impossible set up of a good plan gone awry, the know it all knockout who’s use to getting it all…every element you could possibly need for a feel good, guilt free, bottle of wine to yourself, binge read. So tell the girls you’re staying in, tell your love you’ve got other plans, and find the comfiest pair pajama pants you own, with a bottle of your favorite vino. The Boyfriend Swap screams Friday Night In and I can guarantee that once you start, you won’t be going anywhere.

I loved this book! It was so cute and made me laugh out loud in some spots.
Anne Marie is roommates with Robyn and her boss is Sidney. She invites Sidney to her wine party and during the course of their discussions, it comes up that neither Robyn nor Sidney want to take their boyfriends home for Christmas. Robyn is sure her family will give her a hard time because she’s dating an artist and not a professional man. Sidney is sure her lawyer father will not let her lawyer boyfriend alone. Enough wine and Sidney comes up with the idea for them to swap boyfriends for Christmas.
Sidney can’t stand Robyn’s boyfriend, Perry. She’s so competitive and he pushes all of her buttons. Robyn, on the other hand, finds out that Sidney’s boyfriend, Will, was the boy she crushed on all through high school.
Such a cute book. You won’t want to put it down!

I have long been a Meredith Schorr fan, I have read everything she puts out, and The Boyfriend Swap will not disappoint her loyal fans! Meredith's books are just what I need after I've read heavy WWII novels. The Boyfriend Swap is sweet, sexy, humorous, entertaining and filled with characters one can easily connect with. I loved the premise - two strong female leads who each have boyfriends they don't want to bring home for the holidays. They go out drinking and one comes up with a crazy swap idea. What follows will leave you wanting more! I won't ruin it for you - go out and read this book!!
I would highly recommend The Boyfriend Swap to all my chick-lit loving friends.

I received an advanced review copy of this book from The Great Thoughts Ninja Review Team. All opinions are my own. Robyn and Sidney decide to trade boyfriends when they go home for the holidays. What happens after that is hysterical!!! I really enjoyed this book and I loved the characters. Does life for Robyn and Sidney go back to the way it was before the holidays or do things change? You have to read this funny, laugh out loud book to find out!!!

Snow White, Prince Charming, Cherry Bomb and The Energizer Bunny all rolled into one LOL-funny story. When strong-willed Sidney comes up with a plan to control the Christmas Holiday and talks music teacher Robyn into going along with it -- they throw their love lives to fate and anything can happen then!

This book was slightly boring to start out with.
But then I fell in love with it and could not put it down.
A night in with a few bottles of wine and a new friend and you get your self into scheem that will change there life forever.
For Robyn all she wants is her parents to back off and leave her boyfriend choice alone. She is dreeding spending the holidays with her family and her boyfriend.
And for Sidney She is dating a guy she could really like, but does not want her family to meet him just yet. In fear that they will make her not really care for him like she could.
Both meet at a wine tasting party, that turns to a wine drinking party. After a few bottles of wine and a night of laughs, they get the crazy idea to switch boyfriends for the holidays.
Robyn thinks it is a joke that will just fade away like a hangover would. But christmas rolls around and instead of taking her actor boyfriends, she is taking a lawayer home. Who is also her high school crush and old naighboor.
Well Sidney takes robyns carefree boyfriend to her families home, where he is taking in and loved right away, ruining sidney's dream of her family hating her boyfriend.
As Robyn and Will have fun on their vacation together. Well Sidney is hating that her family is so in love with her fake boyfriends.
After a week with a different boyfriend, both women learn something new about themselves.
And shortly after returning home, both end up boyfriendless.
Dont worry in the end it is a HEA ;)

What a wonderful romantic comedy to kick off the holiday season! The story centers around Robyn and Sidney, two unmarried acquaintances, who would rather peel paint with their fingernails than subject their casual boyfriends to a holiday family meet-and-greet. Each feels their personal life doesn’t quite measure up to their parents’ expectations. So they come up with the boyfriend swap and convince their significant others to play along, thereby switching dates for the holidays. And while this plans seems to be a no brainer in the success department, the one thing happens they hadn’t counted on. Their parents not only like the new boyfriends but proceed to welcome them with open arms. Robyn and Sidney also begin to have feelings for their “pretend” dates, leading to more confusion. Will the boyfriend swap end with a fantastic case of opposites attracting or will their masterplan blow up in their faces? I invite readers to curl up with this heart-warming, funny, holiday tale that Meredith Schorr weaves together so perfectly it will keep you entertained until the very last page.

This book is SO stinking fun! When you start this…don’t plan on doing anything else until you get to the last delicious page.
Robyn and Sidney meet at a women’s only “wine party” and after many beverages, they commiserate about their dread of the upcoming holidays. They both have fantastic boyfriends. It’s their families that are the problem.
Robyn, “the cute” music teacher loves to date artsy men and Perry the hottie with a strong sexual appetite is just her style. Unfortunately, all Robyn’s parents see is a struggling actor/musician who isn’t going anywhere and they can’t wait for him to get lost.
Sidney, the classy ultra-sophisticated attorney is dating Will, who is intelligent, good looking and a fellow attorney. He’s the total package wrapped up in a bow for her parents. Sidney knows if she takes him home for the holidays, her attorney father will talk shop the whole time and frankly she deals with her dad enough at the office. And then, there’s a chance that if her family likes him … Sidney might lose interest. This girl loves a challenge.
Their mutual and mildly intoxicated friend, Anne Marie flippantly suggests that the women switch boyfriends for the week. The wild and zany idea just might work, right? The women will be able to relax and enjoy Christmas; they won’t care what their families think about their “borrowed” significant other.
The rest of the novel is absolutely jam-packed with laugh out loud comedy, a couple of life’s most embarrassing moments revealed, extreme kindness as well as insensitivity, mild flirtation, infatuation and so much more.
I SO enjoyed this book and will be gifting it to several friends.

The Boyfriend Swap was a delightful lighthearted book, that kept me laughing and wondering how the girlfriends plan would work out. Full of fun, jealousy, and flirting, there was plenty of ways this plan could implode. Yet Sydney a dedicated lawyer, following in her father's footsteps, working for the same firm, thought this would be the perfect way to have her family get off her back about finding her the best husband. Ann Marie, Sydney's boss joked about setting up the plan and after many glasses of wine Robyn and Sydney agreed to swap their boyfriends to bring home for Christmas holidays. So Will went home with Robyn, and long ago memories made this swap even more enticing. Sydney brought home Perry, Robyn's boyfriend. Perry was a jovial playful actor who would take her father's mind off of their mutual professions ...because Will is also a lawyer. I really enjoyed this book and was happy to have received an ARC from Net Galley to review and thanks to Cindy Burnett
