This book just didn't work for me. Emily is a very young girl but she also *feels* young so it's makes her relationships feel more icky than romantic.
The plot wanders a lot and the villain just what? Vanishes?
Maybe if you like frontier type romances, this could work for you but it wasn't y cup of tea.
