Wow! I don't even know where to start. I am not usually a fan of love triangles in books but I love what Rachael did with the book. Em and Miller were together in high school unfortunately he has to move away and things don't go well. Fast forward and Em meets Sanchez a full of himself football player and he has his sights set on her. Let the games begin. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised with how the story played put just when I thought it would go one way it flips and goes the other way. I can't wait to read the next in the series.
Oh Miller what can I say you stole my heart and Kinsey your just a doll!! This book really touched my heart I don't think I've ever read a book that really reminded me of my own struggles until Infraction. The happiness these two shared was just touching, to have to go through such love and sorrow and come out smiling is what life is all about.
A lovely young love story that is witty, sarcastic and just the right amount of fluff.
I struggled with who I wanted Emerson to be with the entire way through the book which I think makes Rachels writing stand out as she wrote both love interests so well.
I loved Rachel's writing style and how she was able to make you feel every characters emotions and I'm looking forward to ready more of her work.
Here is the thing. I am not going to write a review for this book because I simply couldn't finish it. I was barely able to read it after I got accidentally spoiled about what was going on.
I am not a fan of love triangles and this one didn't work for me. I got mad when I found out that the hero of this novel and the guy the heroine is supposed to end up with is not the man who is sharing his POV with us the whole time. I got a little attached to him. Though both Miller and the other dude weren't the best people to have around and I didn't like them. The heroine needs a backbone.
Oh, how I hate love triangles in books. Honestly, I really tend to avoid them at all costs because even though I know I absolutely should not have a favorite, I always end up leaning toward one of the characters with my affection. In my heart, I know who I think the character should be with and it stresses me right the hell out not knowing if the author agrees with me or not.
So needless to say I thought I was going to have to freaking endure major levels of stress with Fraternize from Rachel Van Dyken. I knew I was going to the emotional wringer but the problem was I couldn’t not read it, I adore this author’s books!!
Anyway, back to Emerson in Fraternize. Would she and Miller heal old wounds and move forward to begin a new chapter in their lives together? Or would someone else steal her heart and heal her scars with a new love and friendship?
I was pleasantly surprised but not really shocked when this book kept me on the edge of my seat and I found myself ok with will she or won't she aspect of the book. I found myself turning page after page to find out who Emerson was going to end up with BUT I was loving every moment of it. It was so well written and filled with people I can’t get enough of. It was enough to make me reconsider my stance on love triangles.
You’ll have to pick the book up to find out who Emerson finds her happily ever after with but I highly suggest you do that. Fraternize is an awesome read.
Two teammates, one an old best friend, the other one calls dibs. It’s Game On between these two alpha males to win Emerson’s heart.
I generally don’t like love triangles because they frustrate me but this one kept me hooked. Sanchez is the fun loving guy everyone is friends with. Miller has a chip on his shoulder but is an otherwise decent guy. Emerson is ex best friends with Miller. At one point she was even in love with him but he left her broken hearted and never looked back. Years later they’re thrown together and forced to face that old love and pain again. Except Miller isn’t the only guy trying to win her heart. Sanchez is completely enamored by Emerson the moment he meets her. He’s invaded her space and is slowly trying to capture her heart. Which guy will she ultimately fall for? There’s a whole lot of tension between these three that’ll have you holding your breath at moments.
This was a great start to RVD’s new series. I loved all the characters and it introduced characters who will be next in the series. At moments my heart was breaking, others it had me laughing out loud. The audio narration was great. The narrators really captured the characters and moments.
I highly enjoyed this book. When it started, I assumed it would follow tradition of the Em and Miller getting back together after they righted the wrongs of their past. I was pleasantly surprised when the book took another turn, with Em moving on with Grant instead. It was a nice change of pace, and I really enjoyed the relationship between Em and Grant as it developed.
I received this book from NetGalley in return for an honest review.
I rarely give 5 stars. I mean it! In 2016, I think I gave maybe 7-8 5 star review out of all the books that I read (well over 150 books for the year)… The Players Game series gets 5 stars from me!!! Both Fraternize and Infraction rocked my world!!!
This review focuses on Fraternize (Players Game #1). The blurb was the perfect description for Fraternize. The prologue grabbed me and set the book up perfectly!
Emerson Rodner has always had a dream of cheering for her favorite football team, the Bucks. She finally makes the team and is told by her coach that there is a strict no-fraternization rule. As a cheerleader, she is not allowed to date any of the players. Never in her dreams did she think that she would be cheering on her ex-boyfriend (who happens to be on the team).
Miller Quinton finally has the opportunity to play for his dream team, the Bucks! He never thought that his ex-girlfriend (Emerson Rodner) would be one of their cheerleaders. With Emmerson now in his daily life, his attraction to her is undeniable. Then comes Grant Sanchez…
Oh Grant… He is one character that I absolutely fell in love with at first sight. Emmerson never had a chance!
Fraternize is the perfect love triangle (of sorts) that will make you laugh and cry. I loved these characters, hard! It was the perfect book for me at this time in my life. As soon as Infraction became available on Netgalley, I didn’t even think twice. I requested it right away and screamed with joy when I was approved. Trust me, you will want this series in your life!
Thank you Rachel for allowing me to fall in love with your characters! They were simply perfect!!!

This is the first book in a new series. It is the story of second chance love, new love, first love, and a love triangle. Be prepared to have your heartstrings pulled in many directions, yet feel satisfied with the ending. Loved this story and it's unlikely heroine in the world of professional cheerleading
Rachel is like the Queen of playing with reader's emotions (I mean that in a good way). She makes you fall in love with a character, throws in some heartache, then mends said heartache just to toss a wrench in the plot for more chaos and heartache, then warps it up in a pretty bow of happiness or crazy cliffhanger (she's a Queen of those too). I was so #TeamMiller but Sanchez sneaked in and stole more heart leaving me #TeamSanchez!
This was a wonderful book. Different than anything Rachel has written before. Emerson was a cheerleader and her best friend was Miller who was a football player. That is until he had to move away, which was hard on them both. They end up meeting up again 5 years later, that is also where Sanchez and Kinsey come in, making this book even better, if that is possible. I loved everything about this book, the characters and the storyline, I could not put it down. This book had me smiling, laughing, it surprised me and even had me crying a bit, all signs of an amazing book!!
3,5 stars
‘Fraternize’ is a very quick and fun read!Emerson wants to be a professional cheerleader more than anything so she has worked hard but refuses to starve herself into a size zero. Before I continue with the story I had to say that I loved Emerson so much! She tries out for the Bucks and gets the cheerleader position that she is dying for.I did find FRATERNIZE to be a little silly at times, and even a little over the top. And there were some events near the end that kind of felt like a letdown due to added and unnecessary drama and this is the reason why it wasn't for 5 stars!
I really enjoyed this book!! Who doesn't love HAWT football players? I love everything about football!!!
This is a love triangle of sorts!! One you are really going to want both men to win!!! Or you can be the cheese in that man sandwich as Kinsey put it!!!!
You will fall in love with Jax and Kinsey also! All the big secondary characters will have you wanting their story!!!!
Another amazing book by Rachel Van Dyken!!!
As always, Rachel has written another out of this world book. I can not wait to see what more there is =)
So ready for football now! Thanks Rachel. I loved this book. I've never read a book like this before and I really enjoyed it. I couldn't put it down and wanted to keep reading even when my life wouldn't let me. I fell for everyone of these amazing characters and fell hard. Rachel just has this way with writing that has you screaming that it can't be over at the end of every book.
Emerson's story isn't easy but her drive finally gets her where she's always wanted. She made me think about what a cheerleader really must do to be on a team. But when Miller and Grant enter the picture I felt even more for her. How can you have two amazing, hot, athletic men thrown in your face and told no fraternizing?! Give me the next book ASAP please!

Okay, this was an interesting book. Rachel totally blown my mind because she totally twisted what you thought would happen from the beginning into something you did not expect. To be honest, at the end I was kind of happy, but sad at the same time. Maybe you'll understand once you are done with the book. Or maybe you'll totally disagree.
Emerson, the main character, was set on becoming professional cheerleader despite her "curvy" body. And while I appreciated Rachel's point on female body view, something felt of for me. Can't describe it, I just know some lines made me crinch. But other than that, Emerson was quite an entertaining and refreshing character!
Miller and Grant are both a topic I won't dive into too much because - obviously - no spoilers. I have to say though I have a huge respect for Miller for making the decision he did and for acknowledging everything. Grant, well I was waiting for the shoe to drop and...read to find out if it did! Will he be the good guy or the bad guy?
Overall the story was nice! Some parts were too complicated I think and kind of "overthought" (too much though put into it). Other than that I enjoyed the funny lines, the small details Rachel played with and also the pace of the story she set!
*5 Stars*

Whoa. Wow. Whoa.
I seem to be in the habit lately of picking up books by authors who have been on my TBR for ages, and then wondering why on earth I took so long to get to one of their books.
This book was everything. Oh my god. It was hilarious as all get out, I was on edge and full go angst half the time, and it was emotional and I was trying not to cry the rest.
I didn't know who to cheer for half the time in this book. I loved Emerson as the main character and I really liked both Sanchez and Miller. And wow, just, angst anyone?
All the secondary characters were lots of fun too and Kinsey was my favourite.
I highly recommend this book and I can't wait for the next one in the series.
I'm a huge lover of sports and romance, so this book was right up my alley. I loved that the main character was a little out of the ordinary, and seemed so relatable with her body. The characters were great, the humor was great, the romance was great, the message over all about loving yourself and your body was great, it was a fun read!
