When the little girls spy their cat up on the neighbor's roof, they immediately rush the house to get it back. Zach goes out to see what's going on and ends up getting involved in their lives...

Berkley and Net Galley allowed me to read this book for review (thank you). It will be published January 2nd.

Their mother is hot on their heels reminding them they are not to go anywhere without checking in with her first. Zach is attracted but he doesn't want any commitments. That's the way it always starts, isn't it?

You have the kitten and a dog in the story but they don't play a large part. The majority of the plot is watching the two main characters dancing around each other and trying not to fall in love. It's hard to ignore him when your two children love him.

Her ex-father-in-law provides some conflict in the story. He wants to take the children away from her. Zach isn't going to stand for that. He doesn't tell her about the conversation and she says he's lying by omission. It takes a while before the misunderstanding is ironed out.

This is a pleasant romance with a happy ending. The sex was a bit more graphic than I like but it fit in with the story. Two people who have spent their lives alone without a lot of love now have family, friends and a devoted love. What more could you want?

Every Dog has His Day by Jenn McKinlay is super sweet, super funny, and super romantic. My heart melted with every page. Jenn McKinlay knew how to make me swoon, aww, and fall in love. Her characters are charming. The protagonists have real life issues that they're currently facing. One is a single divorced mother of two young girls. The other is a man who never really had a family. Little did they know that fate had plans for them both. Next door neighbors who end up getting to know each other through the fault of two sweet girls and a little kitten. The bachelor has a dog that he's home sitting and has become attached to...after meeting his next door neighbors and getting to them, Zachary can't resist their charming nature. Jessie and her girls fall for Zach's charming self and his good looks. But there's more to Zachary than Jessie original thought. He's a man with a good heart and a loving nature. Their chemistry explodes in this book. Humor was throughout the pages. I loved the snowflake making scene...Zach's snowflake looked like a bird to the little girls but both he and the girls' mother knew exactly what it was...I cannot mention it. But it's worth reading to find out! Overall, I highly recommend this contemporary holiday novel to readers worldwide.

Jenn McKinlay's Bluff Point romance series is a delight, with well-written, well rounded characters that readers can't help but love. In this installment, Zach, a laid-back playboy with a fear of commitment faces off with Jessie, who recently got out of a terrible marriage. I rooted for this couple from their first meeting in the previous book, and was glad to see the characters grow and come together. McKinlay's romances are cozy but spicy, with a well-developed world built around them. I highly recommend them all, but Every Dog Has His Day in particular!

I lovely romance that will definitely tug at your heart strings. We are introduced to Zachary who owns a brewery and doesn't have the word commitment in his vocabulary. Then there is Jessie, a mother of two, who is deeply committed to being the best mother that she can be. Zachary and Jessie are neighbors but have never met. When a kitten named Chaos and two little girls decide to have an adventure the two are thrown together. Both are a bit unsure of the other and opinions begin to form. Jessie doesn't realize that you can't judge a book by its cover, or by past relationships. Will she open her heart to trust and let things happen naturally before judging Zachary? Will Zachary be open to commitment or is he the playboy Jessie thinks he is and has been all his life? With a blend of great characters McKinlay is able to create a story filled with a pinch of sadness, lots of laughs and an abundance of love. I laughed, cried and smiled throughout and was deeply moved emotionally but this charming book.

I absolutely loved this book. It's fun, light-hearted, and an easy read. This is the third book in the Bluff Point romance series and perhaps my favorite. I love that we continue to grow to know the characters. I enjoyed Zach's fun personality and Jessie and his developing relationship. The girls were too cute. I love Jenn McKinlay's writing and I hope she continues writing this series. I kept wondering which character she might write about next... Gina? Sam? Cooper? This was a great read.

Zachary is a good neighbor who saves the cat that belongs to his neighbor’s children, then again offers safety and comfort to his neighbor and her children during a violent blizzard.
Jessie has been attracted to bad boys and sworn not to continue that pattern. When her neighbor Zach and his dog comes to her aid during a blizzard she has to fight her heart to keep a distance between him and her own heart.
This is an attractive book that brings Jessie face to face with Zach and his friends, male and female, and makes her think again about her vow to avoid the attraction she feels between Zach and herself. When her daughters begin mimicking her own comments about men she realizes that she may need to reexamine how she thinks about men and relationships.
I liked Zach and his friends and kept hoping that Jessie would begin to be charmed by this good man. I also wanted Zach to be the one good man Jessie would choose. Funny and sweet, with lots of dirty jokes and language inappropriate for children, this is a book to enjoy. It doesn’t take long to read and is a good story.

Every Dog Has His Day by Jenn McKinlay is the third novel in the small-town Bluff Point Romance series. A kitten named Chaos, two adorable little girls and a well-developed, slow-burning romance left me grinning from ear to ear. Grab a cup of cocoa and check out my coffee dates with this delightful, heartwarming romance....full review to appear at Caffeinated Reviewer.

EVERY DOG HAS ITS DAY is the third book in Jenn McKinlay’s Bluff Point series. This book is definitely my favorite book in the series. While I had some slight issues with the first two books, I really felt like McKinlay found her groove with this one. Still very much lighthearted, I think I was finally in the right mindset to enjoy this book.

If you’re a fan of snowy/cozy reads, animals and cute/humor, then I think you’ll enjoy this book. I would describe McKinlay’s heroes to be more cute than hot, which is not a bad thing at all. I think I’m actually leaning towards that type in my books these days. Maybe I’m just tired of all the alpha types in fiction so reading about Zachery Caine was nice.

Similarly, the heroine is Jessie Connelly who is a divorced mother so she has a lot on her plate. Despite that, she is as charming as ever. Again, she has a sweet vibe to her that I really enjoyed and I found the combination of the hero and heroine’s personalities in this one to be a lot of fun.

As you can expect with the title, there’s some animals in this book. Plus I’m a huge sucker for stories that are set in the wintertime. I think this book just gave off that cozy cute vibe that I was looking forward. I was in a bad mood when I started this book and by the time I was finished reading, my mood had lifted considerably.

EVERY DOG HAS ITS DAY is definitely my favorite book in the series. I am looking forward to seeing what McKinlay has in store for her readers next!

Will post on blog around release day

Oh, the feels! My favorite Bluff Point book so far. I laughed, I sighed, and I cried (happy tears) like a baby. The ukelele trio scene? Four kleenex!

One of my favorite new contemporary romance series. While each book tells a separate story, the friends at the heart of this series and their relationships continue to evolve throughout the series. For a richer reading experience, and better understanding of the characters, I strongly encourage reading the books in order: About a Dog (May 2017), Barking Up the Wrong Tree (Sept. 2017), and Every Dog Has His Day (2 January 2018).

I absolutely ADORE this series. It has quickly become a top favorite of mine since the first book was published. Since then, I have devoted these reads in one sitting and had a huge smile plastered on my face! Fans of lovely romance novels- the ones that will make your heart beat a million miles an hour- need to pick up this book (and frankly, the entire series!). You won't be disappointed! I sincerely hope that Jenn McKinlay continues this series.

This is my first Jenn McKinlay novel and while I wanted to love it, I just didn't.

Parts of it were ok; there were some humorous moments, the kids were awesome characters as well as the animals.

My biggest detractor and why I ended up just skimming the novel after 30% to see what happened is this: I have not read the first two books in the series and I don't think it would have made a difference. So much time was spent on describing other characters and their backgrounds that it took away from the story and really slowed it down. I don't need all that extra information as I'd get it from those particular character's stories. I don't need to know what color their eyes and hair are (especially when it's written from a male POV), and by telling me how/why these couples are together, I now have no incentive to go back and read their books (if I'd already read them, then those details would also just be fluff).

So while the main characters themselves I found entertaining and the story had a lot of potential, I just couldn't love this one.

This series is so much! I love all of this author's books and this series is no different. This would be a great book to cozy up with during a snowstorm (which is perfect with its January release date). I love how each book focuses on a different person, but they are all within the same group of friends. I want my own Maine Crew! I wish I could hang out with the characters in real life. This book was such a great, light read, which is needed every now and then. Can't wait for the next ones to see who it is about!

Love love love Jessie and Zach' s story. This is a heartwarming very fast read about friendship and unconditional love. A blizzard, a kitten, a dog, two cutie little girls, a mom who is overcoming a disastrous divorce and a man who falls from his rooftop makes for a great book.

McKinlay takes us back to Maine for the continuation of her new series, and this time we get to follow Jessie and Zachary. Jessie is the former mean girl who has turned her life around to raise her two girls as a single mom; Zach is a brewery owner who doesn't take life too seriously. Major sparks fly and laughs abound as Jessie and Zach, along with Jessie's two girls Gracie and Maddie, learn all about what truly makes a family. Great characters, a story that keeps you wanting more, romance and laughs. Definitely a must read.
