Sweet Revenge is a laugh out loud, clever, and tasty morsel of a cookbook. I read this all the way through in about an hour and enjoyed every second of it. I love how unique the concept is! Sweet Revenge provides those who have been hurt or betrayed with a constructive outlet and I absolutely adore that. While some of the recipes had me questioning the ingredients I think this was a well executed and overall fun read! I've already attempted a couple of recipes but am leaving the more ambitious ones for another time. They are simple enough and easy to follow. Plus you get bonus pictures of the food! Even if you don't try baking the dishes you'll love it just for the witty remarks and dessert names alone!!!

I love this cook book! I have the biggest sweet tooth and the recipes in this book all look amazing! So far I have made the Pumpkin Spice Latte Balls and the Crumby Coffee Cake and they were both so good and pretty easy to make. I can't wait to try more! Aside from the recipes being great, this is a really fun cook book too. I love the theme, the cute names for the desserts, and the fun illustrations throughout.

This cookbook is awesome. I see that it is geared towards teens on amazon but in all honestly I think this is for anyone that has went through relationship troubles. I didn't try any of the recipies but I will try to get the book from my library and try them. Cute illustrations, a little to many non-recipie pages but all in all a really nice cookbook.

I loved the idea of Sweet Revenge and thought the cover was pretty great, but after taking the day to go over it - it's not for me.

While the desserts have cute names that fit the theme, I just didn't enjoy the layout of the pages or many of the recipes. I do think that most people would enjoy this though and may get the book for friends.

This may be my favorite cookbook ever (and I own a LOT of cookbooks). First, the photography is amazing. The author's writing is hilarious. The recipes are very unique (Kiss my Molasses gingersnaps with lemon curd--yummy!), and have really witty quirky names (every day I regret you s'more, suck it up and grow a pear). It would be really fun to bake up a few of these recipes on single awareness day (aka valentines day).

The premise of this cookbook is spectacular! Mixing your frustrations into hilariously named, delicious baked goods is great! Even if you don't get a chance to make everything you will at least get a laugh going through and reading the notes and names of each baked good.

I don't have an ex's, enemies or anyone else that I might want to be passive aggressive towards but I can think of a few friends that might love this book! Great ideas, great images, great cook book!

I've already recommended this book!

"Sweet Revenge: Passive-Aggressive Desserts for Your Exes & Enemies" is a well-done cookbook. It has a consistent theme throughout and beautiful photos of all of the recipes. The instructions are clear and the ingredients are items that can easily be purchased at grocery stores throughout the U.S. I only made note of seven recipes I am interested enough in to bake myself. Some of the recipes are unappetizing mixtures of ingredients like Cool Ranch Doritos mixed with sugar on carrot cake truffles, fudge with uncooked ramen noodles on top, and Flamin' Hot Cheetos in an ice cream sandwich. The theme, while thoroughly executed, is bizarre and, frankly, pretty lame. Why would anybody bake for their enemies? The names of the recipes are often ridiculous and childish. I get that she is going for an edgy theme but it feels forced and commercial instead of genuine.

Full of humour and brilliant recipes this is a great book. With conversation tables and other handy tips thrown in, plus plenty of attitude.

This little book was excellent. It was so much fun to flick through and the photography was also top notch. I think the idea of dedicating baking to revenge is sweet. I love baking and I appreciate its' therapeutic ability. However, reclaiming that ability and turning it badass really made me happy for some reason. If I had to describe this book in one sentence, it would be "This book really makes me happy!" There will be a review coming up on my blog soonish.

Clever, laugh out loud and tasty, all in one book. I definitely enjoyed this cookbook. Also, there is no need to actually have an X- or unpleasant people around to bake and enjoy the recipes. I found the difficulty rating to be accurate, allowing users of various skill levels the ability to bake something as soon as they get this in their hot, hungry hands. I also appreciated the conversions that were listed, again allowing it's use in areas that only use certain measurements. The book is a blend of humor, graphics, and energy. "Normal" desserts do battle with "wild and crazy. The baked goods are a blend of sweet, sour, spicy, hot, melty, crackled goodness. I also tested some of the recipes, as that is how to tell a great cookbook from a not-so-great cookbook. Each recipe I tried turned out perfectly and was enjoyed by all who waited in anticipation. One little negative was that some of the graphical text is a bit hard to read. This text was more in the form of artistry and didn't affect the actual recipes. I definitely recommend this cookbook for all ages and levels of bakers. It's a fun read even if you don't bake anything at all. Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the advanced reader copy.

This book can be described in two words: Deliciously Fun!! I loved this book!!
Great job!!

I LOVE that Heather Kim takes the time to write out an intro about how cathartic throwing yourself into baking can be, and that you can't exactly go on social media and air your drama if your hands are covered in molasses. She clearly took her own love of kitchen related stress relief and wanted to share it with others. In the intro she also reminds teens (who, realistically, are the target audience of the book), that the book is not a therapist...so if it's a problem is really big, maybe the reader should consider also getting some help.

ALL of the recipes look to die for. The graphics are great...eye catching and entertaining. The names of each dessert are literally laugh out loud amusing.

And if you need any other reason to pick up this book...there's a recipe in it for candied bacon that looks better than any of the recipes I've seen before. Cannot wait to make that!

Sweet Revenge: Passive-Aggressive Desserts for Your Exes & Enemies is a beautifully illustrated cookbook chock full of humor, awesome recipes and many tips that Ms. Kim has added to make your experience in working with her book painless.

Ms. Kim has also added degree of difficulty for each recipe and conversions so you can use either U.S. standard or metric measurements and temperatures, whichever you're more comfortable with. There are also some ingredient profiles, such as sugars and flours, among others to give you a better understanding of the foods you make and how you made them yummy. You want to know what means to zest, whip, pound, etc. your ingredients when following recipes? Ms. Kim has added explanations on these too!

Sweet Revenge: Passive-Aggressive Desserts for Your Exes & Enemies also has explanations such as:

What makes this coffee dip Vietnamese? Vietnamese coffee is typically sweetened with condensed milk. Coffee agriculture was introduced to Vietnamese in the late 1850's. Coffee quickly developed into a powerful industry but due to the limited dairy production in Vietnam, the Vietnamese used sweetened condensed milk with their dark roast coffee, hence starting their delicious coffee tradition.

I highly recommend Sweet Revenge: Passive-Aggressive Desserts for Your Exes & Enemies for all of the excellent information, recipes and the humor in the pages of this wonderful book. I definitely plan on making several of these recipes next time I have company come over for dinner, or coffee and dessert.

As a millenial and as a baker I really enjoyed this. It read somewhat like a Tumblr post crossed with my Twitter feed - which is a good thing. While the recipes all have witty titles and sometimes use odd ingrediants (cool ranch doritos anyone?) they all seem to work and look fantastic in photos. Was a fun read :)

This is a recipe book for sweets and treats with the added bite of internalized anger. I have to say that I adored this book. The writing style is very witty and each recipe has glorious, drool inducing pictures in technicolor to soothe the savage beast. The asides and advice on how to passive-aggressively deal with relationship problems had me chuckling and the profiles of weapons (utensils) and poisons (ingredients) were delightful.
That said I do feel that this book was very American. There are many ingredients that are very hard to get in places other than the United States. Things like Fritos, Crackerjacks and Corn Syrup would be expensive if available at all.
Some of the recipes did have me making faces- Sriraca icing? Chicken skin candy? Not being a hipster I wasn't swayed by the reassurance that the flavors would mix but I think there are enough variations to please everyone. Except your ex.

I devoured this in a hour (yes, pun intended).

I don’t say this often with cookbooks but Sweet Revenge was a fun read. Attention grabbing recipe names like Don't Try to Butter Me up, Shut your stupid Cake Hole and Stop Texting me you Crepe really nail the sweet revenge intention of this book. Bake. Don’t text your ex. Don’t flame on social media. Keep yourself busy, exact sweet revenge bakery style and chuckle at the fun break up anecdotes.

"Relationships are like candy bars...sweet, nutty and full of regret."
“Like sweet and salty, opposites attract...except when they don’t.”

Aside from hilarious author quips the recipes look amazing. Sweet Revenge includes all your tasty baking standards as well as a few unconventional creations. Some recipes contain unusual ingredients such as Cool Ranch Doritos Sugar, Chicken Skin Candy, Hot Cheetos Ganache and Butterscotch Funyuns. I’m not sure if I will ever make these items but they do make this book memorable.

The photography in the book is drool worthy. If there is such a thing, the photos should have their own showing in a culinary art gallery. Full page photos plus added fonts and illustrations made Sweet Revenge the most visually appealing cookbook I’ve ever seen. Artsy, fun and true to the recipes and direction of the author.

I’d suggest Sweet Revenge to experimental foodies, avid bakeaholics and anyone wishing to keep themselves busy post break up.

So creative! Very talented! Funny! I really really loved the creativity and the funny ways the author named the recipes. I haven't tried the recipes yet...but I am sure they are fantastic! Thank you

I really enjoy the concept of this cookbook-- it's fun to see a bunch of (legitimate) recipes to either help yourself feel better or to passive-aggresively give to people that have upset you. For many of the recipes, I felt like that theme really worked, with clever little notes and titles of recipes and the like. I also think that many of the recipes look really delicious. The design of the book is generally very attractive and the photos of the food look appealing but also seem like the results you'd actually get, not the super gourmet version that most cookbook photos end up featuring.
That said, this is definitely a very millennial-oriented book that pulled out all the stereotypes the writer could think of. It looks like it was written by the most hipster group of people that could be thrown together by Buzzfeed, which was fun at times but started getting a bit annoying. I don't need parenthetical statements like "obvs" in every other recipe. Also, there are some desserts that are definitely following the worst food trends I've heard of that frankly sounded repellent. Mostly in sweets incorporating sriracha, ramen, and Doritos.

The writing style of this book can only be described as the kind of Millennial Passion you can only find on Tumblr Discourse threads. In a good way! I appreciate the energy you get just from the introduction and instructions (Like, legit instructions on how to read a cookbook omg)

But overall, the positive message of turning your negative energy into positive energy (and then deciding if it needs to be honed into a Caesar-stabbing knife after emotion is no longer a blind spot)

Also? A+++ for the photography and art throughout the book. It's appetizing, it gets you in the mood for some 'you're a piece of sheet cake' yourself.

The more I scrolled through this book, the more I wanted to spend my actual money on it and send it up to my sister in college (who is without me and way better at baking than I am so it's obvi the perfect gift)

This cookbook was way too hilarious for me NOT to request to review! “Dedicated to the beaten, battered, and burned”, it warmed my heart. The subtitles such as “go ahead and bite-me sized treats, I never kneaded you anyway” made me laugh (and drool at the recipes). Heather Kim’s sense of humor completely made my day, and it was really encouraging to read her opinion on not taking revenge online. Her opinion is that ‘kindness is rare…like baking, kindness takes time, energy, and effort, and those efforts are wholeheartedly returned’. Mixing a beautiful attitude, creative writing, and great recipe makes this book an amazing one to have as a resource, and even better as a gift (especially for those brokenhearted).

It’s wonderfully laid out, with great photos/graphics/information, and is just so refreshingly modern. Love it, love it!!!
