Another well crafted suspense filled book , with a touch of romance , by this Author .

After her recent ordeal at the hands of a killer Morgan Dale is trying to establish her criminal defense company - along with her friend and partner Lance Kruger and his mentor Sharp .
Chelsea Clark , a new mother , has gone missing - the police are treating her husband Tim as a suspect - he is desperate for someone to keep looking for her ..... he knows she would not have left him and their 2 children of her own accord !
Morgan agrees to take his case - and with the help of Lance , their investigation slowly pulls the leads together . One particular lead puts Morgan in the path of a violent offender ...... is this Chelsea's kidnapper or are is someone else to blame ?.
With an uncooperative Sheriff determined to keep them out of his investigation Morgan and Lance must use all their resources to solve the kidnapping and bring Chelsea home .

The slow burn romance between Morgan and Lance adds a more grown up and realistic attitude towards relationships - I look forward to seeing this develop in future books .
This was a fast paced suspense filled book with twists and turns throughout .

I received this Advanced Reader’s Copy in exchange for my honest review.

There are just not enough words to say how wonderful this book and series is. This is the second installment in the Morgan Dane series and once again, I could not put it down. It sucks you in from the first page and holds your attention until the very last word. It is a riveting story full of suspense and twist and turns that will both shock and intrigue you. The characters and story are both well-developed and strong and the author does a great job of balancing the dialogue with the action. You can easily see the scenes develop before your eyes as you read immersing yourself in their world. The depravity of the bad guys will leave you chilled to the bone and the strong determination and empathy from the good guys will keep you routing for them, hoping justice will prevail.

Morgan Dane’s life has taken an unexpected turn, going from prosecuting the bad guys to possibly having to defend them. It was much easier when she knew who was guilty, had the proof of their misdeeds and could put them away but now she is struggling to put aside her strong beliefs of right and wrong and learn to navigate in the grey areas as she works to build her newly established private attorney firm. Working with her friend and partner, Lance Kruger, and his mentor, Sharp they seek answers to a missing person’s case with more questions than answers and an uncooperative Sheriff blocking their investigation.

Tim Clark’s wife, Chelsea is missing and after seeking help from the local Sheriff, who is investigating him instead of exploring other options, he turns to Morgan, Lance and Sharp for help. With no real leads to pursue, they start from the beginning and slowly piece together information that gives them several possible suspects to investigate. Little did they know that the more pieces of the puzzle they connect Morgan would end up in the killer’s sights from their interference. Pulling out all the stops, she and Lance are determined to find the culprit before Morgan is next on his list. Will they be able to solve Chelsea’s disappearance and find the abductor in time? After Morgan is put in danger will Lance be able to keep her and her family safe?

From the time I read my first Melinda Leigh book I was hooked. Her new Morgan Dane series is a definite "Must Buy" for me. The first book in the series is Say You're Sorry which introduced the main characters in addition to Morgan Dane. They all return in this second book in the series, Her Last Goodbye. I always enjoy reading series where many of the main characters reappear in all the stories. These characters then become so familiar to me that I feel I personally know them.

In this story Morgan Dane is now a part of Sharp Investigations so once again spends a lot of time with Lance Kruger who is falling for this sharp, sensitive, tough and dedicated investigator. Sharp Investigations is hired by Tim Cook to find his missing wife. The local sheriff's department is investigating but not making much progress. Needless to say since this is a Melinda Leigh suspense thriller Morgan and Lance will run into many surprises as they investigate. Tension and suspense will hold the reader's interest all throughout the story as there are many twists and turns. As usual Melinda Leigh had me guessing all throughout the book and I love that in a suspense thriller.

This book is definitely an "edge of your seat" read, a page-turner until the very end! I highly recommend this book.

Another absolutely fantastic book by Melinda Leigh!!!. This is the second book in the Morgan Dane Series and this book was just as thrilling as the first. A killer is on the loose kidnapping blond young women and Chelsea needs Morgan, Lance and Sharp to find her....fast! Suspense, bit of romance, and a great female character make for the perfect book! I have nothing negative to say about this book. I highly recommend reading this series. It will keep you up all night reading!!

Fast paced, edge of your seat reading. Fan-freaking-tastic!
Every time I read a book by Melinda Leigh, I’m blown away by her brilliant storytelling mind.
This book was no exception. Holy crap..hang on to your seat, and get ready for a thrilling ride.
I was sure I had it all figured out, and Boom baby.. wrong hahahahaaha.
Strong female characters always make me cheer, and Morgan is amazing. Lance and Morgan as a couple make me smile.
You get so drawn into the story, you’ll be coming up with various forms of not so legal justice for the bad guys in the book.
Morgan is strong, raising her small family, caring for her Grandpa and still helping to find Chelsea. Lance is protective of Morgan and her family.. doesn’t that just make you go rawwwr.
I absolutely love this series of books. Well worth the read and I can’t wait to see what Melinda does next.

A wife's disappearance kicks off this second book in the series. Former assistant district attorney turned private attorney Morgan Dane works with the PI firm Sharp Investigations which is made up of Lance Kruger and Lincoln Sharp.  A distraught husband comes in begging for their help to find his missing wife. As with all missing spouse cases the finger is usually pointed at the other spouse so the sheriff's department isnt being to helpful but he knows she would never leave her two small children.

As Morgan and Lance start their investigation there are plenty of side plots. A beloved member of Morgan's family falling ill, Morgan facing her grief over her dead husband as she finds herself becoming more and more attracted to Lance, and the additional disappearance of more women.

As with the first book there are lots of nefarious happenings going on in Scarlett Falls – some you see coming and some you dont.

I cannot believe that I finished this book already. The first book in the Morgan Dane series was amazing and I just finished a few weeks ago and I did not like the idea that I had to wait so long to read the next one. I am glad I found it on NetGalley and was able to read it. The connection between Morgan and Lance is becoming more noticeable in this book but there are still things that are standing in their way; will hey realize they are each others happy? Melinda Leigh has another hit on her hands but I am not surprised, she does such an amazing job drawing the reader into her books. Thank you NeGaley and Melinda Leigh for allowing me to read and review this book.

Sometimes it seems as though I’ve been waiting for Melinda Leigh’s sequel to ‘Say You’re Sorry’ for too long. But Lance Kruger and Morgan Dane have not strayed too far from my thoughts so it’s relatively easy to slip back into their world where they are more than friends but not quite lovers, working together against crime just as they iron out the kinks in their own relationship. Leigh left them in a very hopeful position when the first book ended, and I was thrilled to read more simply because she handles pacing, dialogue and adult character-interactions brilliantly.

A new case that Lance and Morgan deal with—the disappearance of a parent of an infant—takes precedence over the romance, as it did with the first book. On its own, the case didn’t seem like a standout at first, but Leigh’s writing is compelling enough to make me stick with it, if only for the way her characters carry out an adult relationship that I find so sorely lacking in books these days. Lance and Morgan, whose romance is barely there at all, have such chemistry it’s hard to look away as they work as a team already in sync. Sometimes it seems as though they’re superhuman, doing all the things they do with little sleep and a ton of other things to juggle.

The mystery of the missing women—when truth finally came out—was a bit more contrived than I expected but it’s something I can overlook maybe because the rest was just done deftly. Generally speaking though, intelligent writing, maturity of characters and some subtle inserts of heat and humour have made me a fan of this series and ‘Her Last Goodbye’ is definitely more than a decent read.

A brilliant thriller. Strong main characters. Great storyline. A real page turner. I was hooked from the first page. It is a very dramatic story with plenty of twists and turns, with a touch of romance added in. Very exciting. Can't wait for the next one.

Many thanks to Melinda Leigh and Netgalley for the copy of this book. I chose to read it and give a voluntary and unbiased review.

Her Last Goodbye is the second thrilling book in the Morgan Dane series written by author Melinda Leigh. This story is equal to or even better than Say You're Sorry. I love all of the characters, especially Morgan. I hope there are many more stories written about them. Excellent series. Thanks to NetGalley and Montlake Romance for the advance copy.

This is the second book in the Morgan Dane series and I LOVED it!!!

I am a die hard Melinda Leigh fan, but I give very honest reviews. The characters are awesome...I love all the Danes!!! There is mayhem, murder, kidnapping, twists and turns, very real/believable pain and suffering, lots of love, and just enough sex scenes.

I love the romance genre, but I'm not all about sex, sex, sex! I need a story that has substance and this book delivers!!!

All I'm going to say is if you love a strong woman, lots of edge of your seat moments, twists and turns, angst, love, and your not afraid to shed a tear than this book is for you.

I can't wait for the next book in this series. ML can't write fast enough for me!

Thank you Melinda and Montlake!!!

A young mother goes missing, and the police focus their investigation on the usual suspect, the husband. He, on the other hand, wants his wife found so hires Morgan Dane as his lawyer, who works with Sharp and Lance Kruger, to get to the bottom of the disappearance. The stakes get raised, however, when someone starts stalking Morgan and her family. She needs to find out who is doing it, and fast, before time runs out.

Melinda Leigh's books are always a joy to read. She writes a great, engaging story that will leave you wanting more. I am already anticipating her new books to come out. If you like great romantic suspense thrillers, you will love this book. Get it today!!!

Full review to be published online in late September.

HER LAST GOODBYE has really stepped up the pace from the first book in the series ‘Say You’re Sorry’. The story begins only a few months after Morgan’s nightmare at the hands of a killer. She has taken on the case of a missing woman named Chelsea Clark, and is dealing with the woman’s frantic husband. She and partner Lance begin the investigation knowing that Tim Clark, the woman’s husband, is the primary suspect in the case; and he wants to prove the police wrong before he is arrested. He believes she may have run away, overwhelmed by the stress of her family and new baby.
Unfortunately, the team is having a hard time with an obstinate and unhelpful Sheriff, who is not sharing information and is actively blocking their investigation. As they dig deeper into the investigation, Morgan finds herself in danger. With her personal safety in question, it becomes even more difficult to solve the case.

HER LAST GOODBYE is the second book in Melinda Leigh’s fascinating “Morgan Dane” series. Although I hope as the series goes along Morgan does not continue to be the unrealistic object of danger in the cases; I have found that I’ve enjoyed both books so far. HER LAST GOODBYE can be read standalone with the understanding that the main characters are developing from the previous book.

This second book in the Morgan Dane series is even better than the first. It is a riveting story that will have you holding your breath and sitting on the edge of your seat. The author first hits your heart with the abduction of a new mother, then chills you to the bone with the cruel, horrifying actions of the villain, followed by the heart pounding tension when the killer sets his sights on Morgan. This story has suspense, twists, intrigue and some great romance as Morgan and Lance's relationship develops. The great descriptive writing combined with a fast paced, gripping storyline makes this book an excellent read. Thank you to NetGalley for the Early copy of this book.

Morgan Dane has chops. I love her integrity, her willingness to go the extra mile, and the vulnerability she never lost. This book grabbed me on the first page, and once I started I did not want to put it down. I appreciate that all Melinda's books entertain, but also make you think. You can relate to all the characters, the good and the bad, This one I figured out....so I thought. Came really close, but don't want to leave a spoiler. I offered to leave an honest review in exchange for the ARC copy I received. I have said it before and I will say it again, you can not go wrong with a Melinda Leigh book.

From start to finish this one packs a punch! Morgan is such a strong woman, single mother and seems to take the world on her shoulders. The suspense was riveting and kept you guessing until the end. Great addition to the series! Thank you NetGalley and Melinda for the galley!

Morgan Dane is back again and better than ever. She has been hired by the husband of Chelsea Clark. Chelsea left home for a night out with a friend and just disappeared. Her car was found abandoned in a remote location with no sign of Chelsea. Her husband is frantic. They have 2 young children and he knows their mother wouldn't just take off. He is afraid the police are only looking at him and time is running out to find his wife. Morgan Dane, former DA, is now in private practice. She and Lance Kruger, ex cop and now private eye are working together to try and solve the mystery of Chelseas disappearance.

Melinda knows how to weave a story that will keep you captivated and guessing. Every book I read of hers just seems to get better. This one is filled with suspense and intrigue. If there were any clues leading to the person who kidnapped Chelsea I missed them entirely. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy of this book. I couldn't put it down and you won't be able to either.

Thank you very much to NetGalley and also Melinda leigh for posting me an ARC of Her Last Goodbye (all the way to Ireland) Melinda Leigh is my favourite author and I have read and loved all of her books to date and the first book in the new Morgan Dane series, Say You're Sorry was fantastic so this second book had a lot to live up to but Melinda delivered another 5* book yet again!!! Chelsea Clark goes on a night out with her friend but she never arrives and her husband Tim Clark employs Morgan Dane and Lance Kruger to help him find her when he loses confidence in the local sheriffs dept as he feels they are wasting valuable time looking for the killer because they are focussing on him for her disappearance. Thus begins a frantic search to find her which leads to dead ends and twists you won't see coming. Melinda has such a descriptive way of writing that you are not just reading her books, you are right in them and this book is no exception it is guaranteed to make you squirm and literally make your heart pound (you'll know exactly what I'm talking about when you read it!!!) Her Last Goodbye is Melinda Leigh at her very very best!!!!!! I just wish now I had read it slower because I hate having to wait for #3 Bones Don't Lie!!!!!
