This was just an OK read for me. The book is more of a romance than a psychic mystery. The romance was very predictable and felt rushed. The situations were very unrealistic and the two main characters made a lot of TSTL moves. The book was short and it felt like more effort was spent on the clothes they wore than the plot. It was a quick read.
Sage it out is a very Delightful story . I love the characters , specially the cat Mataba.
A fun story with a fairytale ending. It's a quick read- you can read it in one sitting. I think some parts were on the funny side- for example- like walking a cat on a leash. I'd like to see that. This mystery is not your usual whodunit- no murder victims in this one.
Very entertaining and fast to read. It's a perfect reading to unwind. Highly recommended.
Princess Fuzzypants here:
I am not sure if I would call this a mystery-romance or a romance-mystery since it is probably just as much one as the other. Rose is bowled over by the man of her dreams, literally, when she is walking her cat. Yes, there is a cat and the cat is an important character! But the dream turns into a nightmare when she tries to protect her friend, Sage, who has visions. Sage has a vision of a little girl in danger and the two ladies feel they must find the child without revealing the truth. Lies pile upon lies which turns out to the be the worst way to win her dream man since he's been burned by a lying cheat of a girlfriend before.
It is all rather complicated but entertaining as past experiences of all the characters are interwoven in ways no one could imagine. While Rose and Sage get themselves into pickles, the reason behind the deceits is at least somewhat understandable. It allows me, as the reader, to forgive those moments.
It is a nice and complete story so I am not sure if there will be other books with the same characters. If there are, I would give it another sniff.
I give this four purrs and two paws up.
Rose Devlin is the best friend with a good heart and is psychic and sees visions. Sage Tanton is her best friend who is also psychic, a empath and sees others emotions. . Rose has protected Sage, as well as and her own family since she was a child. Rose feels that she can handle even murder, without Sage's supernatural help. But when she runs into a little girl, Rose's reactions to the unexpected meetings triggers Sage's visions.
It is up to Rose and Sage to find the girl and save her before it's too late. Unfortunately, Rose needs to get the police involved without telling them about Sage’s abilities. Rose jumps in to sleuth while trying to save her best friend. The ending is the best part of this book. The very last page of the book makes everything else fall together. It has a right amount of romance, suspense and friendship.
Thank you for the ARC which did not influence my review.
I read this book in a couple of days. I laughed and I cried. Overall, I enjoyed this very kind, light and heartwarming novel very much.
The main characters are adorable, even the cat Mataba. They are all likable. You’d want to be friends with them and sit at their table drinking tea and eating honey buns. The story is a bit convoluted in places (there is no murder, no gross details, not much blood at all) but it gets readers to the happy ending.
Sage It Out is not straightforward mystery or murder mystery. It is a love story and a story of opening up, friendship, mother-child relationships and all the good things in life. It’s a story about losing and wining trust and believing in happily ever afters.
This is a very quick book to read. Too bad it lasted me only a couple of train rides.
Author’s Note at the end of the book – about her wanting to bring joy, happiness and warmth into her readers life – sealed my opinion of this book. Sage It Out has done exactly this – brought warmth and joy.
Enjoy
Title: Sage it Out
Rose Devlin is the best friend with a good heart a person could have. Sage Tanton is her best friend who is also psychic. Rose has protected Sage, as well as and her own family since childhood and nothing and no one is allowed to get in the way. Rose feels that she can handle any situation, even murder, without Sage's supernatural intervention. But when she runs into a police detective, and a little girl, Rose's reactions to the unexpected meetings triggers Sage's visions.
Nathan is a new police investigator and the man who ran into her while he was chasing a thief. Not long after Sage’s vision shows that the little girl Rose saw after being knocked down by Nathan is in danger. It is up to Rose and Sage to find the girl and save her before it's too late. Unfortunately, Rose needs to get the police involved without telling them about Sage’s abilities. Rose does what she always does, jumps in feet first and lands in Nathan’s arms.

Series: A Psychic Mystery Romance
Author: Shereen Vedam
Genre: Paranormal/Romance Cozy
Publisher: Amazon Digital Services LLC
Detective Nathan Bryant is a great character is Sage it Out. He knows that Rose is lying to him and he wonders if she isn’t a bit crazy. Despite his concern, Nathan finds himself completely over the moon for her and unable to stay away. He is instinctively protective of her and wants to help, but the past keeps coming back to haunt him. Trust is something he has a hard time giving, and this is an issue he and Rose share.
This is a sweet story, but it needs work. It is a nice paranormal romance with hints of danger. There is action but mainly towards the end. The characters are likable but unfortunately, not very believable. The situations Rose and Sage find themselves in are simply not possible. In real life, if people acted the way these two characters act with the police, they would have been arrested and sent to jail.
The love interest for both women is equally unrealistic. Police officers do not treat possible suspects, or those they think may be involved in illegal activities in the manner these male characters treat the two women. Even after the women continually lie to them about a case. People may well fall in love at first sight. However, police investigating a possible crime usually do not allow personal feelings to stand in the way of their job. They don’t take evidence in a crime investigation out of evidence and give it back to the “owner” even if that owner is a five-year-old girl.
The ending is the best part of this book over all. The writing is smooth, but the book needs editing and proper formatting. Unfortunately, the very last page of the book makes everything else pale in comparison to all the other unbelievable events. The ending had the potential to be great but was too abrupt with no back story to help the reader envision the scene.
All of this being said, the book does have moments that make the reader smile and even wish the events happened in real life. It isn’t a terrible book, but it is need of more depth, better-developed characters, and more believable scenarios.

Rose and Sage are best friends and business partners in a store. Sage has psychic visions and, because of this, has been bullied and not accepted all her life, which is why both she and Rose are reluctant to expose this ability and/or even discuss it. However, Rose has stuck by Sage’s side through everything and anything, and a strong bond has formed between the two friends. On day, Rose encounters an attempted robbery while out walking her beloved cat. In the process, as he tackles the supposed thief, Nathan, a hunky cop, also pulls Rose down with him. Though not badly hurt, Nathan asks Rose to stay on the scene until he returns from chasing the other robbers, so he can help her. In the process of her waiting, a little girl appears, looking for her stuffed skink, which has disappeared in the midst of all this. Shortly thereafter, though Nathan has not returned, Rose leaves the area, though not before glimpsing the little girl frantically searching for her missing stuffed skunk. Nathan returns to find Rose gone and is totally disappointed, since he was struck by the woman and wanted to know more about her and even ask for a date. Rose also is struck by Nathan, but knows almost nothing about him. Later, she confesses her attraction to Sage back at the store, but both admit that there is really no way to find him or who he is. Instead, they decide to focus on finding the little girl who was searching for the stuffed skunk, since Sage has had a vision that she is in trouble and in need of rescue. While looking for information on the robbery and suspects, Nathan and his rookie partner Tom stumble upon Rose and Sage’s store, where things begin to fall together. However, for some strange reason, Rose tries to confuse the two policemen by using Sage’s name and having her use hers. After some discussion, Nathan and his partner discover that there is a connection with Rose and Sage, and all four begin the journey to figure out who the little girl is, the stuffed skunk’s connection and how it all fits together. The story follows their strange journey to figure things out, moving from one unexplained incident to another, from one clue to another.
The story was not very long and moved along quite well. However, I think it would have been better if the author had written something longer. The characters were not as well developed as they could have been. The romance between Rose and Nathan was way too shallow, with little chemistry. Face it, there was too little time to develop this. The mystery and the romance competed with each other, since things were so rushed and seemingly just thrown together in one big heap. I think the story was a good one, but its brevity did not do it justice. Things were way too rushed and happened almost out of nowhere. I, for one, would have appreciated it more if things had gone more slowly, with ample time for development and even more conflicts to liven things up. I think there was a good book/story here, but its novella format just bypassed it all. I hope the author will continue with this story of the two BFF’s and their lives and loves. I just hope subsequent books/stories are more slowly paced, with more development. I received this from NetGalley to read and review.
Sage It Out was a cute book but it definitely read more as a romance novel, not a cozy mystery.
The story line was interesting and I think I would have enjoyed it more if there was more focus on the mystery and not on the romance.
I can't give an honest opinion of the characters because I think they were perfect in a romance novel, but a bit "too much" for a mystery.
I would consider reading the next book to see if that changes, but if it doesn't, then I won't continue with the series.
I voluntarily read an ARC of this book provided by the publisher and NetGalley. Thoughts and opinions are mine alone.
A big Thank you to NetGalley and Backlit PR for the ARC for my honest review. First time reading this author. I give this a 3.5 rating. It was a fun, fast read, rather silly but still fun. It is a great read for the fans of the cozy mystery with a little romance involved. There is no sex in this book. Mothers are everywhere. I understood the characters and their rationale. Didn't always agree. To much mom in their lives for me. Overall a fun predictable but good read. Let me know if you agree. Enjoy.
