A lovely Christmas romance. Mina is still mourning the death of her husband after two years and Will has been fascinate when he first saw her, but she was married then. He owns a bar and her husband was killed by a drunk driver. They are thrown together when her car gets a flat tire on a dark and stormy night, and she trips, falls and knocks herself out when she goes to change the tire. Will sees the flying flashlight and goes to her rescue. Thus the story begins...

A sweet little Christmas story of second chances and giving love another chance. This book is the second in the series but works as a stand alone as well.

Mina Harper was on her way to work, with her Lab Stewie, when a flat tire causes an accident on a night that promised a storm.
Not far from there, Will Fraser saw through the window when someone seemed in trouble on the road. Only when he got closer he saw it's Mina.
She was taken to the hospital and after being found to have suffered only a concussion, she and Will had to spend the night together - a medical recommendation.
But the two who were single (she's a widow) and had known each other for some time, they realized that there was a chemistry there.
Far from having a serious relationship, they decided that it would be better to be "friends with benefits."
What Mina didn't know was that Will had a crush for her for a long time, but he had respected the fact that she was married. And after she became a widow, there never seemed to be a chance that he would approach her. Until that chance came!
However, for Mina the situation was more complicated.
She had lost her husband very young and had not yet gotten over it. In addition, Will owned a pub and a distillery, and Mina's father, the famous Blacklight rocker who had put Lansing Island on the rock festival map, had been an alcoholic. With so much emotional baggage, she could conceive herself to be Will's lover, but not his wife.
Will would do anything to win her trust and her love, until he came across an insurmountable wall: Mina's stubbornness.
With so many people realizing that the couple were happy together, would Mina finally hear the voice of her heart and give her a chance for happiness?
I really liked the couple. Will is an amazing person e his love for her is magical. But her past problems were affecting her on negative way. Too negative. And the plot was almost the same of the first book (at least the sisters had the same issues to solve).
4 stars

My first book by this author it wouldn't be my last. This is the second book in the cloud bay series. This book is about the second sister Mina(first book was about the other sister Faith)coping with being a young widow after her husband died by the hands of a drunk driver. Will has loved Mina from afar for years but kept it to himself when he found out she was married. Years later her being a widow he still stayed away until one night he rescued Mina from a spill she had in the rain while trying to change her tire. So starts this connection of both the main characters. Although Mina feels a pull of sorts toward Will she is hesitant since she is till dealing with her grief. Will so happy for the opportunity to spend anytime with her is treading very slowly with her eventhough he bursting inside for more. A book about lost and finding love again. Reviews will be on goodreads and amazon.com

While this is the second book in the series it still can be read has a standalone. This book is full of second chances and love. A good romance novel that is full of hope and happiness

I don't think this holiday romance was a fair introduction to the author for me. There are a lot of people and back stories in Lansing which took far too long for me to parse. Although it should be read as a standalone, I didn't enjoy that initial disorientation from not recognizing certain names and places.
Will was a great knight in shining armor, but Mina was so difficult to get to know. Granted, her tragic history of losing her husband so young haunted her, but it felt often as though Mina preferred shutting herself off to nothing but pain adhd loneliness. As for Mina and Will together, there was sweetness and tenderness in Will's long-standing crush on her, but little heat or passion. I actually felt like Mina was far more intrigued by Will's Mustang than the man himself.
I should probably check out the first in the series; I have a feeling it is a better introduction to Cloud Bay.

Will Fraser has believed in love at first sight ever since he first saw Mina Harper five years ago. Unfortunately for Will though Mina was happily married at that time so he put any thoughts of her out of his mind. Now however Mina is nursing a broken heart and the loss of her husband who was taken away too soon by a drunk driver. Seeing that Will owns a whiskey distillery he still doesn’t believe he would ever have a shot at winning Mina’s heart after her experience.
One night however Will is looking out and sees a light out in the storm wondering if someone has broken down on the road. Will notices that the light seems to fall as if whoever is holding it may have gone down so he rushes out to investigate and finds Mina laying on the ground having hit her head while trying to work on her broken down car. Taking care of Mina that night gives Will the opening he’d been hoping for and next you know the two are having a mistletoe inspired Christmas fling but Mina is sure that her heart won’t fall in love again and their romance is only temporary.
A Season of You by Emma Douglas is a holiday infused contemporary romance read and the second book of the Cloud Bay series. As with most romance series this book features different main characters than the first in the series and can be read as a standalone but I did notice the previous characters involved in the story so it may be better to read both in this case as there did seem to be some carry over, more so than normal anyway.
While I did enjoy the vast majority of Will and Mina’s story and love the idea of bringing a character out of a mourning period there were still a few things I may have changed myself. As always with a story of this nature it seems there has to be that bit of angst and I’m not always a fan in the way it’s done. Otherwise I did enjoy the book and would probably rate this one at 3.5 stars and would certainly read more by this author in the future.
I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley.

This is the 2nd book I have read by this author. I loved the first book in this series, Need You Now. This book was still good & I enjoyed reading it, but it wasn't quite as captivating as the first book. These books are fun & easy to read. They work great as a series or stand alone book. If you are looking for a fun book to read over the holidays, check this one out.

This story takes place during the Christmas holiday season but it didn't read like a Christmas Romance to me. It just doesn't have that heartwarming fun Christmasy vibe. The story itself is well-written for the most part but I felt parts dragged a little. The characters were well-developed and the dialogue was well done though. Mina has suffered much loss in her young life and I understood her reluctance around Will. I never quite warmed up to Mina but I did to Will. It was quite a struggle for them but they finally got their happily ever after which made this story more enjoyable for me. So this is a different kind of Christmas Romance but I am glad I got to read Mina's and Will's story.

3.5 stars. This is the second book, but it works as a stand-alone too. A cute little Christmas story about starting over and giving love another chance. I'm not overly fond of modern love stories, but I was interested in these characters enough that I just might check out the next book.

I am really sorry, thank you for the chance to review this but not for me.

I was given an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest and independent review.
I really enjoyed this lovely book. The characters are charming, particularly Will who is loving, caring and gorgeous. I also liked the way the book was written. It was a easy read.
A book that made me smile. I will definitely look out for this author's next book.

A Season of You is a beautifully written novel about finding love a second time around. This book is filled with emotion and it made my heart swell. I got tears in my eyes learning of our heroines past and felt a strong sense of protection over her even though she is a fictional character. Our hero is swoon worthy- he's a strong man that captured my heart almost the minute I "met" him. The path the two take to find their HEA was well written and heartfelt and I truly loved how everything came together.
If your a fan of sweet romances- ones that scream forever love and touch your heart- this is the perfect book for you!

I will admit that after reading the first book in this series, Need You Now, I was intrigued as to what the future held for Mina. Mina married her high school sweetheart at 18 and lost him at 20 to a drunk driver. Since then Mina has pretty much withdrawn from life in her grief. Whereas Will has been in love with Mina since the first time he saw her. Of course, then she was a married woman and then she was a grieving widow so he never made his feelings known. However, that all changes when Mina seeks Will out to thank him for his kindness.
This was a heartwarming contemporary romance. Since Mina is not yet ready to admit that she is willing to move on from her grief, the romance between Will and Mina builds up fairly slowly. Especially since they are only giving themselves until Christmas to be together. But of course we all know what will happen at the supposed end date.
There was one plot twist with the mayor that seemed a bit out of place. Perhaps that is a lead in for the next book in the series... I guess we'll find out then.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this novel.

Not sure where to start with A Season of You.
While I like Will and Mina I just really never connected to Mina. Poor Will tried really hard with Mina and I thought that she was hung up on some things that shouldn't have been held against Will.
There were times that I found myself skimming through the pages. I am hoping that No Place Like You (Zach & Leah's book) will be better.

A Season of You by Emma Douglas is the second book in her Cloud Bay series. Ms. Douglas is a new author and I haven't read any of the previous books. It was easy to reason as a standalone and I enjoyed the story.
Mina Harper lives on Lansing Island off the coast of California. Her father was a famous singer and Mina wants to earn her own way with her portraits. But alcohol took the lives of her father Grey and her late husband, she stays away from it. With her lab, Stewie, she takes the night shift with the Search and Rescue team. But when she has a flat tire and ends up with a concussion also, its Will Fraser who rescues her and cares for her during her recovery. When Mina and Will give into their attraction the agree to be a couple for the holiday season only. But will they both be able to walk away from each other on New Year's day?
Will Fraser has loved Mina from afar for 5 years but when her husband dies in a car accident he waits for her to mourn her loss hoping that someday she'll see he cares for her deeply. When he rescues her he doesn't hesitate to help her recover. Will and his brother Stefan are anxiously waiting until the can finally bottle their whiskey. In the meantime they'll run their bar and get through the holiday season. When the mayor decides to hold a Christmas festival there will be hilarious moment with Mina, Will, Faith, Caleb crafting Snowman sandcastles and Lou's infamous pies will there be a happily ever after? There is a twist that will have you wanting Will and Mina to get beyond their issues but all in all A season of You is a solid 4 star story.

Thanks to NetGalley and St Martins Press for a copy of this delightful book. I've just spent a cosy evening reading it. A real feel good romance where the main characters and their closely linked families are so likeable that you almost feel that you are part of the family. Having had bad experiences previously in their lives, the main characters fight against their fears and the result is a very good romance. Well worth reading

This book has both on-screen sex and cursing (including f-bombs that start almost on the first page). If those things aren't your jam you might want to skip this one. This book is number two in a series and I have to be honest, I think not reading the first book took away from this one because there were so many names that it was impossible to keep everyone and their relationships straight. (Lou isn't Mina's mom but she *is* Faith's mom, and their dad used to be with Emma who is Mina's mom but she left her daughter behind to take photos around the world and really has no bearing on this book but gets name-dropped a lot. Grey is their dad but he is dead and now Lou is dating Angie's dad Seth which makes Angie hate Faith and Mina for being Harpers even though her anger is about Lou dating her dad and Mina isn't even blood-related to Lou...I have to be honest, it was so convoluted that I gave up trying to figure it out.
I really, really struggled with this book. It kills me to not finish a book so I stuck with this one just hoping it would get more interesting, but it never really did. The writing was good structurally, and this story had a ton of potential, but it just fell short. Every chance that this book had to be interesting (Adam's death, the entire Angie plot line, Will's fear of the water, Mina's painting, Mina's art show both in general and the secret getting out, Will & Mina's part in organizing the festival, the drama with the brother, the fire) all just fizzled out without actually doing anything. It felt like Will and Mina spent more time apart in this book instead of getting to know each other than they did together and although there was a ton of potential for interesting things to happen, nothing really does and that was very disappointing.
I was given an ARC of this story by the publisher and was under no obligation to write this review.

“A Season of You” is book two in the Cloud Bay series by Emma Douglas and features Mina Harper and Will Fraser, both who we met briefly in book one – “Nee You Now”.
Mina, a widow, believes she loved, married, and lost the love of her life, so when Will Fraser, owner of the local bar Salt Devil comes to her rescue the last thing on her mind is letting herself be attracted to him.
Will, however, has had an interest in Mina since the first time he’d seen her when he arrived in Lansing. Now, with her baking him ‘thank you’ cookies and inviting him and his brother to the Harper family Thanksgiving, Will sees his chance to be with Mina while also knowing he has to go slow. Hence, the ‘project’.
Mina and Will have a tender yet sizzling attraction that has you pulling for these two to overcome their obstacles and for Will to win Mina’s heart.
Ms. Douglas handles Mina’s grief with sensitivity and “A Season of You” is a beautiful story about overcoming fear and allowing one’s heart to love again.

After having read the eARC of the first book in the Cloud Bay series (Need You Now) courtesy of St Martin's Press, I couldn't wait to get a copy of A Season of You, which is the second book.
Where Faith Harper was the main character in Need You Now, A Season of You focuses on Mina, her sister. I was already familiar with Lansing Island, Cloud Bay and much of the characters' backgrounds, so I was able to concentrate on the story. Mina is the only one of the Harper siblings who is not a musician. Instead, she paints by day and works at the island's Search and Rescue station at night.
Will Fraser owns the town's whiskey distillery along with his brother Stefan. He's had feelings for Mina through her marriage to Adam and still does. Adam's death doesn't change that. Things get hot between them during Thanksgiving and New Year. A very sweet story.
Thanks to Emma Douglas and St Martin's Press for this ARC. Looking forward to book 3.
