As a disclaimer, I must note that I have not read any books by the authors before, so I am not familiar with the characters. It obviously would have been a different experience if I was.
This anthology has romance, of course, but it also has humor, suspense, and horror. All of the stories have the Halloween theme ( as opposed to some books that seem to p, and only mention leaves falling once or twice) which I liked throughout. I will focus the review on my favorite story, the first.
A bunch of people in their 20s are celebrating Halloween, with parties and bar hopping. But are they being drugged? Is a killer on the loose? Or is it all in their heads? This one keeps you guessing throughout, especially with the ending. While romance was present, the Halloween horror/suspense is much more prevelant. As a Halloween fan, this was my favorite. The other stories did not appeal to me much, so I won't write about them. So be I only really enjoyed the one story, I have to give it 2 stars. From what I read I am not motivated to look for other words by any of the authors.

I loved this collection of books. The authors of these Halloween short stories did a wonderful job.

Tijan's story was scary and everything you look for in a Halloween book.

J. Daniel's chapters were a great compilation of epilogues from her previous stories which makes me want to go back a reread her other books.

Helena Hunting was one of the authors that drew me to this collection. I couldnt wait to read this book. I loved Shacking up and couldn't wait to get my hands on the next story. This halloween story was hilarious.

Bella Jewel's book was written very well. There was some scary elements and some sweet and loving elements.

Lastly, there was Tara Sivec's book. I couldn't wait to read this book. This series was hilarious and the Halloween installment was just as equally funny.

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC. Here's my honest review.

3 stars

I have only had the chance to read Tara Sivec's story in this anthology and that was my primary reason for requesting this book. Her story continues the Sam and Noel series and I wanted to keep reading about them.

At first, I found this series to be hilarious--a bit over-the-top, but still enjoyable. By this point in the series, those antics are starting to get annoying. I'd enjoy the characters more if they weren't trying so hard to be shocking and offensive. I think if there were another one in this series, I'd be tempted to continue but I doubt that I'd go to great lengths to make sure I didn't miss out.

I was so excited to read Eye Candy! Helena Hunting and Tara Sivec are two of my favorite authors, and Tara’s Holiday Series needed a Halloween story badly. I loved J. Daniel’s Sweet Series, but I haven’t read her whole Alabama Summer Series yet (though I may now). Bella Jewel and Tijan are both at the top of my want-to-read list, so I had really high expectations for this anthology. I will review each story separately and briefly.

Fallen Crest Nightmare by Tijan:

I have not read Tijan before. I tried reading for 4 days, and just couldn’t push past 8%. I felt completely lost, like I was dropped right in the middle of a book. But really it was supposedly more like an epilogue to the Fallen Crest Series by Tijan. A number of people told me to stick with it, because it’s a really good, really creepy story, but my head wasn’t in the right place to push through. I may try again on Halloween.

DNF (can’t rate)

So Much More by J. Daniels

I haven’t read the whole Alabama Summer Series yet, so I did feel a little lost, but not too bad. There was LOTS of sexy in this one, and I am very interested in reading more of the series now, but it wasn’t very Halloweenie, it was more about pregnancy and hot sex.

We actually get 5 different male POV in this story, so if you have read and loved the series, you can catch up with all of your favorite characters.

Note: I actually forgot, I did listen to the first in the series, so I thought maybe it was a little familiar at the beginning, but even though I listened recently, it didn’t stick with me, so this all felt new.

Getting Down by Helena Hunting

I totally loved this one! We are reunited with Bane and Ruby from Shacking Up, but the story is just as much about Amie, who will be getting her own book, Hooking Up, in November. This felt like a full story, but it does leave you excited for more.

“I can’t do that with my vagina hanging out!” I gesture wildly to my crotch.

I was laughing out loud several times. I don’t think it is necessary to have read the ones before in this case, she seems to do a good job of filling in the blanks, because I have a very poor memory. Still, since I DID read Shacking Up, I can’t truly judge that. I do think that if you plan on reading Hooking Up next, you should read this story first, as it will have a huge background for the couple in Hooking Up.

4.5 stars

Unsafe Haven by Bella Jewel

I didn’t think that this story was really related to any other of Bella’s stories, and if it is, you’d never know. I really enjoyed this sweet romance, with an exciting night of Halloween suspense.
*Note: the main couple is new, but the book is a spin off of The Watcher by Bella Jewel.

4.5 stars

The Pumpkin Was Stuffed by Tara Sivec

I am totally in love with the Holiday family and found myself laughing out loud (complete with snorts) in this perfect addition to the Holiday Series. I think if you have not read the series before, it’s a great introduction to the ridiculous crazy that comes out of Tara’s brain. Sometimes you can’t help but crack up at the silliness of it all, and that’s what makes it so special.

“You’re going to be the sexiest oven anyone has ever seen,” I whisper in her ear.
“Forget about cooking a baby. I’m going to chop off your balls and cook those instead.”

Scheva & Alex, Aunt Bobbie and her pot pills, apple butter lube, lots of clowns, and the whole Holiday family brought all the crazy, but in true Tara Sivec tradition, she brings a little sweet as well. I loved this one!

PS: Butthole Meat is now a new phrase in my house.

4.5-5 stars

The Down & Dirty:

As someone who is not an anthology lover, I still enjoyed this book. 4 of the 5 stories were really like extended epilogues to series already released, only Bella Jewel’s story was almost a total standalone. Being that these all read like epilogues, there was lots of pregnancy related stories. If I had read all of the series featured in this anthology I think it would be a must read, because I would have hated to miss Helena’s and Tara’s stories, as they are related to books I know and loved. But I don’t think that this is really the best for new readers of all of these series, I think you should at least have one that you know you’ll love to pick this up and make it worth it. It was TOTALLY worth it for me.
Overall Rating: 4 stars, Heat 4.5 (just from 2 stories)

So Much More by J. Daniels

I LOVED this novella! I loved getting back to each couple and seeing where they are in their life's, the ups and downs, the new paths their on, and all the swoon-worthy sexiness that is each couple. I can never seem to get enough of these characters. And I don't want to. I never want this series to end. I could read about these couples forever.

Ben, Mia, CJ, Riley, Reed, Beth, Luke & Tessa, each one of these characters bring so much to this series, and with this novella, it makes you want to go back and re-read their books, but it also leaves you wanting more and more of their stories. Can they have like six books each please?! ;)

Laughs, a few tears and a whole lot of sexy. With lots of fun surprises, So Much More will leave you craving so much more, of this series, of the characters, the family, friends and love. I can't wait to see what J. Daniels brings us next in the Alabama Summer Series, where she'll take our Bama Boys and their kick*** women.

Prepare to laugh, cry, jump up and down, blush and swoon over the perfection that is the Bama Boys!

This anthology of stories keeps you entertained and on the edge of your seat. Some of the authors I was familiar with, but others I had not experienced, but I will definitely be looking up their books. The Halloween premise was a good tie-in but that was the only thing that tied these stories together.

Really enjoyed all of the stories. Many laugh out loud moments. Will definitely be buying this book. Only thing was I wish the stories were longer.

This was a really fun anthology! I love Halloween and all the spooky stories, costumes, and fun activities that goes along with it. My husband is a big scaredy cat so I don't usually get to go do all the fun Halloween stuff. But it was so great reading about them in this Anthology!

You get the haunted house with Tijans Fallen crest crew, parties, haunted trails, party (and maybe some kinky closet antics - just saying *wink*) and more with J Daniels Bama boys and, a decorations war (and more!) with Tara Sivec Favorite inappropriate family, the Holidays! These were my favorites of the entire book but they were all really good!

Want to get in the spooky spirit? Pick up this Anthology and get your Halloween on!

It's probably a wise idea to have read the series that each of these novellas pertains to. For that reason, because I'm still playing catch-up with some of the stories, I only read and reviewed So Much More by J. Daniels.

And let me tell you, it's worth the purchase just for this.

If there was ever a perfect series to read (and reread multiple times), then the Alabama Summer series would be it! The characters may not be real, but the love I have for them and their creator, most definitely is.

This peak into the lives of four couples we've grown to love over the years is enough to curb our appetites for now, but rest assured it'll never truly be enough. J. Daniels satisfies our cravings one minute and gives us more of them the next.

Each of our wonderful Bama boys gets his own time to shine in this book. Their stories blend together seamlessly into one perfectly crafted day full of fun, surprises, and an adorable six year old boy very much his father's son.

This novella is not to be missed and certainly a must-read for any Bama boy fan. I can't wait until the next book for this series comes out so we can catch up again with our favorites and make some new ones along the way too.

It’s no secret that I am a fan of anthologies. I enjoy the short jaunts back into familiar worlds and being introduced to new ones. Anthologies are a great way to read new to you authors without a huge price or time commitment. Eye Candy is a fast, funny, and sexy compilation of various best-selling authors who each give us a look into beloved fans’ lives as they all get ready in some form or fashion for Halloween. This anthology best serves those who are familiar with these particular series though each novella stands firm on its own.

I chose not to review J. Daniels because I have not read her Alabama Summer series and I think you definitely need to be up to date with that series to enjoy and understand the events in her novella.

Fallen Crest Nightmare by Tijan-The first story of the anthology has Tijan revisiting Fallen Crest when the gang plans for the ultimate Halloween bash as Sam and Mason reunite after a month separation. Set during book 7, Tijan chooses a sinister base for her novella as reality and fiction merge for Sam when she finds herself dropped into a scene straight from the movie Scream as her friends begin to mysteriously drop like flies around her. A strong premise and dark humor made this a fast read though the narrative seemed to a bit punchy at times and I felt as if I was missing some key dialogue in certain scenes.

“I was ready to raise holy hell.”

Getting Down by Helena Hunting-Helena Hunting revisits Bancroft (Bane) and Ruby from Shacking Up and wets our appetite for the upcoming release of Hooking Up in this novella. Jam-packed with sexual shenanigans, witty dialogue, and hilarious mayhem will keep readers firmly engaged as a small intimate Halloween bash turns into a huge event when Ruby and her bestie, Amalia (Amie), are asked to host a charity ball instead. Ruby has her hands full with Bane’s moments of insecurity and worrying about Amie’s up and coming wedding to Bane’s cousin while Amie experiences some sizzling chemistry with Bane’s brother, Lex. Chemistry she should be experiencing with her fiance, Armstrong. From glittery BJs to outrageous costume malfunctions, Hunting gives Halloween a definite boost of goodness as she leaves you wanting more.

“God bless the sex toy industry and multiple orgasms.”

Unsafe Haven by Bella Jewel. A domestic abuse shelter’s plan to raise money for it’s budget by throwing a huge Halloween bash soon finds itself under a ghostly attack while an employee finds romance among the decorations. This standalone seemed to best embrace the overall premise of this anthology with its well-balanced blending of a sexy romance and a sub plotted spooky theme. I enjoyed experiencing the story through Jade’s point of view as she embraces and works through her fears and begins to open up to dating again while trying to stay alive during the “haunted” party. A fast sexy read with a hint of erotic overtones.

He leans down, kissing me again, and I can taste myself on him. It’s so erotic. So damned incredibly erotic.

The Stuffed Pumpkin by Tara Sivec. Set in the world of her Seduction and Snacks series, Sivec regales readers with an outrageous and wayyyyyy over the top melodrama of Halloween weddings, wars, and babies when the very pregnant Noel and her husband, Sam, visit Noel’s parents for Halloween and to prepare for their best friends’ wedding. Laughter, chaos, and some well-deserved groans are in abundance when clowns infiltrate every aspect of their visit. Some may find the humor a bit juvenile in some areas, especially Noel’s aunt Bobbie’s antics.

“Sweet Jesus, she looks like a clown that just woke up after a gang bang.”

Overall, Eye Candy is a tasty confection of Halloween delights.

I read most of them but one and I loved the Halloween theme.

So much more - Bama Boy extended epilogue and catch up with a Halloween twist. Happy moments with some steamy ones. The gang is still strong with my fave Nolan and Chasey adding all the cuteness. Same goodness delivered.

Getting down- Helena Hunting - Ruby and Amie are planning a Halloween soiree. There is the ever present fiancee Armie who is s stuck up prick and his icy mother. With all the wedding planning so stressful and making Amie uncomfortable as heck. It leaves us with a hint of the story that might play out in Helena's upcoming book Hooking Up and I can't wait.

Unsafe Haven Bella Jewel - Cute story not so familiar with characters but made curious to find out who they are. Has a spook factor and Halloween vibe.

The Pumpkin was Stuffed Tara Sivec - We met Noel and Sam before in holidays which always turned bad for them. Here we are reunited with her quirky family Halloween style. With along characters we've met along he way. Let the crazy antics ensue.

Enjoyable anthology! Some authors I know and some are new to me but still enjoyed all of the novellas. All Halloween themed so if you are a crazy for that holiday it will definitely be your thing :-)

Fun to revisit some much loved characters and to meet some new.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book via NetGalley.

I read Getting Down by Helena Hunting from the Eye Candy Anthology, and let me just tell you. If you have ever one of Helena's romantic comedies, then this is a must read!

It is important that you read Shacking Up before you read, Getting Down, but.. you will want to read Shacking Up because it is golden! Back to Getting Down, from Eye Candy. Getting Down is the perfect balance of Ruby and Bane and leading into the next book, which will be Ruby's best friend, Amie's books. It really set the stage for what's to come but was also jam packed with hilarious sexy times and humorous antics.

Grab The Eye Candy anthology today, even if you haven't read Shacking Up, there are 4 other stories, that might just be the one for you!

Everyone needs to get thrilled about Eye Candy. It has our best authors in one book. It has different short stories from Tijan, J. Daniels, Helena Hunting, Bella Jewel and Tara Silvec. Each of the authors provides a short story about familiar characters or new characters in the series.
It is a fun Halloween read that it will make your day. Tijan brings back the gang for a Halloween treat for all reader because it is a fun short story about the gang. J. Daniels also bring back the gang too in the short story that we get to see how they are doing in their life. Plus, we get more love from the little ones too. Helena Hunting also gives us continuation story from the Shacking Up series. It is good to read about them. Bella Jewel brings new character together in her suspense series. It is a cute read but it is also entertaining too. Last of all, Tara Sivec provides us a hot read that will make you blush.
Eye Candy is a fun short story read that it will keep laughing throughout the read. Five Stars.
