I really enjoyed all of the stories in this anthology. I had only read one author before reading this and almost chose to only read the familiar author. I am glad I didn't do that, because now I want to read all of the authors in this anthology. I also liked catching up with the characters that I was familiar with. I also can't wait for Helena's next book so I can find out what happens. Great anthology!
Love every second. Couldn't put it down. Love the different Halloween stories. Must read. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
4.5 stars
This was such a fun anthology. I mean, who can say no to their favorite authors and characters? Even the series with which I am not overly familiar, I felt like I got a great introduction to the characters. I *may* have had to one-click after finishing.
Some stories had a fun twist, while others were written in a true Halloween spirit. What I loved is that I felt that each story was well-developed - much more than a short story. By the time I finished each story, I couldn't believe that I hadn't read an 80k+ book and there was more to read in the book.
While I have to admit that I came for Mason & Bane, I stayed for all of the characters from every. If you dig Halloween and know any of these authors, you can't beat the price for some many stories from such amazing writers. Either come visit your favorite characters or meet some new ones. #OneClickNow
Book Review: 5 Stars
Getting Down is amazing. Simply A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. It brings Ruby and Bancroft’s sexy times back, but it’s also an introduction of Hooking Up, Ruby’s best friend’s book.
In this novella, Bane found Ruby and Amie playing around with Halloween make up and that gave them the best idea ever: host a costume party, but then, that idea turned into a bad, bad idea: host a huge party, or soirée—the official, pretentious label given to this event—. Well, it was bad because Ruby had planned to wear a sexy outfit that would drive Bancroft crazy, not only because he’d have hard on all night long—or as long as they could keep their hands off each other—but also he’d have to hide it under a tight superhero costume in front all the socialites of NYC. The best part? Bancroft wasn’t the only super hot man attending this awesome as hell party.
I will say no more about this amazing novella because everyone who has read Shaking Up gotta read this. And please, if you haven’t read it yet, go get it, fall in love with Ruby, Bancroft, Francesca and Tiny and then read this novella. You’ll love them even more.
3.25-3.5 stars. This anthology was enjoyable. Some stories I really liked and some were only okay for me. Here are my thoughts:
Fallen Crest Nightmare by Tijan - 2.5 stars. I haven't read anything by Tijan before and I'm thinking this was a bad story to start with. This is a continuation of the Fallen Crest series. It catches back up with some of the couples from the series on Halloween. The couples' lives seem drama filled, immature and angsty. But there is a very creepy part of the story too. I didn't really get it. It doesn't make me interested in reading more from Tijan.
So Much More by J. Daniels - 3.5 stars. This was a cute collection of followups for the couples in the Alabama Summers series. I have not read the series, but I still enjoyed this story and they make me want to read it. I especially liked Beth and the rope scene. Sexy and sweet!
Getting Down by Helena Hunting - 4 stars. This was a really good story. Definitely my favorite of the book. This is a story following the characters of Shacking Up as the plan a Halloween party. We get to catch back up with Ruby and Bane and we get a peek into Amie and Lex's story to come in Hooking Up. This was a sexy, sweet and funny story that I enjoyed a lot!
Unsafe Haven by Bella Jewel - 3 stars. I almost didn't finish this one. I felt like the story was interesting but the characters were juvenile acting.
The Pumpkin Was Stuffed by Tara Sivec - 3.25 stars. This was typical Tara Sivec. It is was a little too cheesy for my personal taste. The story was cute. Some of the humor was funny to me, but some was OTT. This is a continuation of The Holiday series.
Overall, this is an enjoyable Halloween themed anthology. The stories range from creepy to funny to sweet. I do think it helps to have read the series the stories are from to enjoy it more. I definitely think this anthology is worth reading!
Eye Candy is a fun and entertaining anthology in which readers are able to catch up with some of their favorite authors' beloved characters. There is sizzling chemistry, laugh out loud moments and plenty of heartfelt romance. Eye Candy is the perfect October treat.
ARC provided, but this review was voluntarily and honestly written.
So what better than picking up a book with wonderful writers and who I love so much?
Nothing better!
And if you have suspense and lovely short histories too ... Perfect!
I loved this anthology that traveled from strong suspense to cute love and made me know the writing of two writers I did not know and liked quite a bit.
A great request for Halloween readings with several striking and passionate characters.
Without ceasing to talk about this super delicious cape.
4/5 stars.
Kisses, Myl
Fantastic read!
Tijan's Fallen Crest Nightmare: I've not read the Fallen Crest series but after this short Halloween read, I can't wait to dive into that series. I need to know more about Mason and Logan! Also, I enjoyed the "Scream" theme.
J. Daniel's: These short stories were so cute and they were like an extra epilogue into all the characters. Nolan's 6 year old love for Ryan was adorable! I hope that means we'll eventually get their story.
Helena Hunting's Getting Down: After reading this, I must read Shacking Up immediately! I loved how hot for each other Bancroft and Ruby are. I really hope Amelie is getting a book and she kicks Armstrong to the curb. I really don't like that guy.
Bella Jewel's Unsafe Haven: incredibly sweet! Bella Jewel described the perfect man in Oliver. Quiet, broody, built with tattoos and knew when to take charge. Enough said.
Tara Sivec's The Pumpkin Was Stuffed: My favorite family is back! The Holidays are my favorite family and I would have bought this anthology just for this story alone!
There is a whole lot of creative talent in this set of stories and every one of them was a 5 Star read for me. I can't wait to dig into the books that are related to some of these characters that I haven't read yet. I highly recommend it! ARC provided by NetGalley.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher for an honest review.
I read Tijan's Fallen Crest Halloween story in this anthology. You have the whole gang included in this particular novella. I love these characters and how Tijan spins their stories. So this particular episode has a lot of crazy happening. Sam's emotions are like a roller coaster in this particular story. Mostly she's afraid. Halloween is a scary time, you know.
I enjoyed reading this novella. As I said earlier Tijan sure can spin a story and she didn't hold back with this particular Fallen Crest episode either.
Definitely give this anthology a try if you're a fan/reader of any of these authors series. You'll be delighted, I'm sure.
There is something for everyone in this collection. They are all either Hallowe'en based or revolve around the holiday. Overall, each story was good and I enjoyed them all
Tijan Fallen Crest Nightmare - it was a good story and kept me engrossed the whole time. I kept thinking it was going to end as it did, but that stopped for a bit. Really enjoyed the story
J Daniels So Much More - this was amazingly sweet and sexy. Wasn't sure when I started, but was quickly swept into each characters update. And the ending, just perfect!
Helena Hunting Getting Down - (the reason I bought the collection!) Ruby and Bane were a lot of fun, of course, and I see more dress up occurring in their future :)
Bella Jewel Unsafe Haven - While the book has a definite melancholy feel hanging over it, it is also positive and hopeful
Tara Sivec The Pumpkin was Stuffed - this is more of a slapstick comedy, with people in love and different relationships in it. Not my thing, but well done
So Much More by J. Daniels
“If you don’t listen to orders, I’ll cuff you now and drag you out of here.”
“Well there goes my willingness to comply.”
So, this is an easy review to write. Why? Because I LOVED this sweet, sexy short from J. Daniels. Her Alabama Summer series has a special place in my heart, and every trip back to Ruxton, Alabama is rewarding, funny, hot and *sigh* simply wonderful.
So Much More is a breeze to read. Short but sweet. Quick and dirty. All those good things—where you get the BEST parts, with little drama to stress you out. Though, be warned, there are moments here that'll set your heart to racing and maybe even give it a little ache...
This Halloween-themed novella is all treat and no trick, and it's a fab way to satiate your appetite for those Bama Boys as we wait for the sixth book in the series, Say I'm Yours.
Even in the beginning, the first time I did this with her, she was always so willing. So trusting.
That drove me fucking wild. It still does.
~ FIVE Candy STARS ~
Cute and scary Halloween stories, but all entertainingly short stories. These stories are all stories including characters that have already received their HEA. I want to read about them getting their HEAs now.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
J. Daniel’s Alabama Summer series is one of my favorites. I love all of the characters in her three series and even though the couples are much younger than me, I have felt every emotion, loved the various personalities, and entertaining storylines. This story, So Much More, was a real treat to read more about my favorite couples and I highlighted a lot! These stories are from the male POV which makes the stories even more enjoyable. Ms. Daniel’s wrote a chapter for each couple and of course, started off with my favorite, Ben and Mia.
Every woman should have a man like Ben! He’s strong, protective, honorable, loving and a family man. He loves Mia beyond words and she loves him right back and it’s funny how they disagree who loves the other more. Their story has been building since they were teenagers and this view as a married couple with two children is priceless.
Mia kept something from Ben, wanting to carry the burden and worry by herself. Ben was quite unhappy that she didn’t allow him to share that with her. Ben – “You were in here alone feeling that. I should’ve known about it. You don’t go through anything without me. Nothing. Not even this.” “…I would’ve held you the second you felt anything. I didn’t get to do that.”
Mia came away from that conversation knowing that Ben has her back in all things.
I loved seeing Nolan and Chasey and they are so cute and sweet. Nolan has a crush on Ryan, the daughter of Reese and Dylan from the Addiction series. It’s so precious that he’s so open about being in love with her, even at age six. Nolan is such a loving little boy and seems wise beyond his years. The ending was beyond sweet and brought tears to my eyes.
Reed and Beth’s story was quite poignant and they are now married and expecting a baby. Reed is quite kinky and Beth enjoys it also but things have been different with the pregnancy. As most pregnant women, Beth worries that she’s too big and he feels differently about her. Reed definitely disabuses her of that thought and he loves looking at her pregnant belly. They definitely have some hot scenes and you can just feel their love for each other.
As they work to decorate McGill’s Pub for the party, Reed disagrees with some of the decorations knowing that the kids will get traumatized and he would then have to deal with angry Ben. I could just visualize Ben with his protective side, knocking Reed down for causing any problems for his family!
Luke and Tessa worked through a difficult time to get together and I was happy that angst was over! But now they are having a difficult time conceiving and it’s breaking Tessa’s heart. Luke is hurting because Tessa is and worries how to let her know he wants her, no matter what. He realizes he hasn’t made her aware that he’s in this with her and she’s not alone. His conversation about whether they have their own baby or adopt is so funny and definitely SO Luke and Tessa with their personalities. I laughed out loud and had to read it several times it was so funny.
Their trip through a haunted woods area is so funny and their thoughts and comments are hilarious.
The Halloween party is at McGill’s Pub and includes all of the couples. I loved reading about the costumes, the games for the children and all of the interactions between these people, many who’ve known each other for years as friends, siblings and now as couples.
Riley knocks CJ’s socks off when she arrives to the party in her costume and their roleplaying was funny and hot! I could just hear CJ saying darlin’ to Riley and they are beyond sweet to each other with a fairly new relationship. CJ tries to plan something special for Riley and it doesn’t work out quite like he planned. Nolan starts asking questions which was funny but it was sweet scene.
These four men make it known with every word and in every situation that these women are IT for them and they don’t hesitate to show their love.
Ms. Daniel’s provides a special chapter that had me laughing and visualizing the future. It was beyond precious that all fans will enjoy.
I’m not familiar with the characters in the other stories but plan to read those also.
So Much More by J. Daniels
I dove into this anthology eager to get more of one of my favorite series, J. Daniels' Alabama Summer Series. Ruxton, Alabama is one of my favorite fictional places to visit, and I was so excited to head back there. Told in the the points of view of all four of her heroes, and a little hero in the making, Daniels made it totally worth the trip.
I devoured this in one sitting, smiling from ear-to-ear the whole way through. Each of the Alabama Summer Series couples make an appearance and there was plenty of tender emotion, laugh-out-loud antics and smoking hot sexiness. This story was a fun way to spend a few of hours, and it was just enough to satiate my craving for more of these characters as I wait for the next book in the series to be released.
Generally, I quite enjoy anthologies. Especially ones like this one that take a group of new-to-me authors that might help me expand my reading. I'm also a huge fan of a holiday anthology.
This anthology, not so much a fan of. Why? Because these were all parts of series that I hadn't read, that I felt I needed to have read, and now won't read. This was not the book for me, neither the stories (which weren't exactly romance more spanning horror and erotica, both of which I enjoy but neither of which I was prepared for). I would recommend it to people who have read and enjoyed at least one of these authors before.
Two stars
This book comes out September 5
My Review for So Much More by J. Daniels
I can NEVER get enough of the Alabama Summer clan!!! I was wondering which couple So Much More was based on. I wanted ALL of them and I got my wish and SO MUCH MORE. ;) All I can say is Nolan. <3 J. Daniels managed to fill the novella with ALL the feels. I only wish it was longer, but NO AMOUNT of pages would be long enough for me when it comes to them.
Tijan's story was a bit hard for me to follow for a while since I hadn't read any other stories in the series. I did think that it was a great honor movie read to start off a Halloween book.
J. Daniels book was also a bit confusing as I hadn't read anything to tie the characters together. I did find it very sweet. Nolan was a great character.
I loved Helena Hunting's story. It was hot and absolutely hysterical. I loved Ruby's costumes. I really hope that Amie drops Armstrong and gets with Lex!!!
I'm madly in love with Bella Jewel's story. It was the perfect Halloween romance. A little scary and a lot of sweetness.
Tara Sivec's story was hysterical! I loved the neighborhood decoration war. The quirky characters absolutely made this story!
Note, I received an advance copy of this book in return for my honest review.

Getting Down Helena Hunting
Bane and Ruby was hot, hilarious and fun.I enjoyed them and I'm happy that I can learn more about Amie , I can't wait for her story.
I loved this anthology and I'm going to re-read it for Halloween! If you haven't read a book from these authors try this one, I'm sure you are going to fall in love with them!
4 stars according to average of all 5 novella ratings (3.55 Stars)
This is an anthology composed of 5 novellas from 5 different authors, all revolving around a Halloween theme.
Fallen Crest Nightmare by Tijan
2 Stars
I was really disappointed by this story.
I’ve read one book by Tijan before and I really liked it. But this book was really an epilogue, like you had to have read the other book to enjoy it, I think.
I think it was supposed to be funny too; but I didn’t laugh once and I found it pretty predictable. I also spotted some pretty sexists lines…
So Much More by J. Daniels
3.5 Stars
This was cute but it literally was several epilogues for all the couples in the series by the author. And I have not read this series so it wasn’t all that endearing for me…
I’m guessing this would be great for readers that have read those books though.
Getting Down by Helena Hunting
4.25 Stars
Full disclosure, I picked this anthology on netgalley because Helena Hunting’s name was on it. I love her books and I’ve met her and she’s just so very nice and all.
This was basically both an epilogue for Shacking Up and a prologue for Hooking Up.
I loved the characters and am so excited for Hooking Up. (I love Lex and Armstrong needs to die or be hung by his balls...)
Unsafe Heaven by Bella Jewel
4.25 Stars
This was great. I hadn’t read any book by this author and I really loved this story. The characters were very loveable and I could really feel the chemistry.
I wasn’t needed to read any other book by this author to fully feel the greatness of this story but it made me want to read more books by the author.
The Pumpkin Was Stuffed by Tara Sivec
3.75 Stars
Once again, this story really felt like an epilogue but I still laughed a lot and the characters were endearing.
Reading the previous books didn’t feel like a requirement to enjoy this story. I’m sure people who have read the other will enjoy it more than I did but I still had fun. Despite how predictable it was...
A very nice anthology that will appeal to romance readers both familiar and not familiar with these authors work. It was a nice mix of humor, creepiness and zany antics to keep readers interested. In addition, there was a nice balance struck between the stories that kept it fresh and fun! High Recommend!!
