This was an adorable read that is perfect for the holidays. It is a book filled with finding love, remembering what is important during the holidays as well as giving relationships that you thought were negative a positive spin. The characters of Merry and Jayson were simply honest and true characters that find their soulmates. This was an enjoyable read that I highly recommend.
Liked the characters and play on the names. Great story flow. Loved the path of romance. Fun and entertaining read. Highly recommend.
A short heart-warming, happy ending Christmas novel, Merry and Bright is just what the reader expects from Debbie Macomber. It reminded me a lot of You've Got Mail, and then Mary/Merry made that connection in the book as well.
The premise of this story is different and really cute. I enjoyed the characters of Merry and her family quite a bit. I had a tougher time with Jayson, though. He never really won me over. And I definitely felt like Merry should have made him grovel a little more after the party incident! So, overall, I enjoyed reading the story, but I wish Jayson's character would have been more likeable; he just didn't seem good enough for Merry.
Nothing like a great Macomber Christmas story. I can see this one as a great Hallmark Christmas movie.
A great read! I enjoyed the book. Merry and Jayson's story had a few bumps in the road, which were resolved with some help from a few angels. Looking forward to reading more of the author's holiday books!
I received an arc copy of this book from Net Galley in exchange for my honest opinion. I so much enjoy Christmas stories and this was perfect! I loved the story with Merry "Mary" and Jason! Christmas can turn anyone around.
This is a sweet Christmas story! While you knew what the ending would be from the very start, it was the journey that kept you guessing. How would the conundrum resolve itself? I had to keep reading to the last page to figure it all out!
I received an advanced copy of this book. I loved delving into this book and reading Merry and Jaysons story. The author has a way of making you feel you are a part of the book. The descriptive way she writes makes you feel every thought and emotion the characters are having. The author writes and tells both Jaysons point of view and Merrys. Sometimes I wanted to hit Jayson and tell him "she is standing right in front of you".
Bah, humbug.
"Down Syndrome" isn't an adjective.
I hope they plan to hire her full-time after this.
Hey, that's my birthday! But I never feel cheated. Poor Merry.
That's actually smart. There are a lot of psychos out there.
It sounds like this job is killing him.
People can grow up and fall in love, man.
Ha, she's insulting him and he doesn't even know it!
Really, Jayson. The woman had a sick three-year-old! Your stupid report can wait.
He isn't as stuck-up as he seems.
If she seems familiar, that's because she is, idiot.
Wow, could he be any more snobbish right now? He has moments of being human, but then he just reverts back to Scrooge.
So she thinks he's dating her for her family?
Jayson's cheating on Merry...with Merry.
Ugh, men are stupid. Even if Mary was a different person, he blew her off to run to "Merry".
I'll say this for him, the man is good at apologies.
A sweet Christmas Romance. I received this book today and couldn't put it down. Loosely based on one of my favorite movies, "You've Got Mail". A perfect book to escape into a sweet, cozy Christmas romance.
Merry and Bright is a sweet, charming romance written by author Debbie Macomber. I love her books. Thanks to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group-Ballantine for the advance copy.
This was more like a short story. I always read Debbie Macomer books but this one did not have much story.
Molly Harper truly wow'ed me with !! Having never read a Molly Harper novel before I wasn't sure what to expect, but I immediately connected with her writing style. So much so, by the time I got to the second chapter, I already knew I didn't want this book to end. The storyline was well-paced and the characters were endearing and authentic. I felt the southern hospitality through the pages and I enjoyed reading Margot's city-slicker-in-a-small town reaction to all of that southern love. I am particularly partial to novels set in small towns and Sweet Tea and Sympathy is a perfect example of why. Being that this 5 star read is the first book in the Southern Eclectic series, I am keeping my fingers crossed that Molly Harper writes many, many more installments in the future!! This book was great combination of women's fiction and romance and I highly recommend it to everyone!
Merry Knight is a temp worker at Matterson Consulting. She also helps her family. Her Father is a busy pharmaceutical salesman and on the road a lot. Her Mothers health isn't good and she has an 18 year old brother with Down syndrome. She has no time for a personal life. Her Mother and Brother surprise her and sign her up for a dating service. Soon she is chatting online with Jay who is charming, shares the same interests and is kind to her brother when he chats with him. They finally agree to meet in person and Merry realizes she knows Jay and he is nothing like his online personality. She leaves before he can see her.
This is a very charming heart warming Christmas/love story. The Brother, Patrick, was a very likable character. I found myself rooting for Merry and Jay. This is a fast very enjoyable read. I highly recommend if you are looking for a feel good romance. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.
I have read everything by Debbie Macomber. I was thrilled to receive this ARC.
A young woman who is working too hard at her job and not on her personal life. She focuses on her family; her mom is living with M.S. and her brother has Downs Syndrome, her dad works overtime. She must work for her college tuition.
A Christmas book by Debbie Macomber is always a highlight to my Christmas season.
They always add warmth to winter.
Cozy up with a bit of light from Debbie Macomber!!
I highly highly recommend!
