Thank you for the opportunity to read this book. Unfortunately, while I enjoyed the first book I read in the series I had some problems with the second book I read. I am unable to get into this one.
Cute book with nice illustrations. Wasn't really my cup of tea but I can see how kids would love it.
I had trouble getting into this series, but I am sure much younger readers would enjoy it. It seems like it might be a good book for kids who find halloween to be scary.
I love the idea of a Sleepy Hollow where it's perpetually Halloween. An evil mayor and an intrepid set of kids set on making sure the evil stays at bay while going on amazing adventures. Kids who love the Magic Treehouse series will undoubtedly love this!
Harry might have overcome Titus' bullying but they aren't friends. There's talent night competition for Halloween and Titus is determined to win it!
Rabbit Publishers and Net Galley let me read this book for review (thank you). It has been published, so you can grab a copy now.
This book is even more fun than the last one. In this one, Harry gets a rabbit he can pull out of his top hat. It's even more special because the rabbit is magic and he can fly! The practice performance makes it look like Harry will win it but Titus is determined...
When the show is over, Harry gets disqualified because no one can answer how the rabbit did it. But he's a good sport and goes to the big party Titus' father is putting on. It's a good thing he did...
This one is exciting, Titus needs Harry's help, and it all ends well. Sometimes you're only enemies because you don't know each other well or you're jealous. It's better to be friends.
This book is about magic, and all that is good, with a generous serving of adventure. Harry Moon and his family are very likable and believable too. I need to read the rest of the series now.
Harry is special, and his sight enables him to see a danger that will harm his beloved Sleepy Hollow if he does not stop it, and with the help of his loved ones, can he conquer the evil?
A favorite quote from the book:
‘What all boys and girls are destined to become if they simply believe…….They become magic’
A cute little story, but I am not sure I am the target audience, however I love books meant for all ages, I just couldn't quite connect to this one.
Cute little story about Harry and his adventures. This is a book that I would read for my children if I had any. :)
I found the narration stiff and unnatural. For instance, why continually refer to the family members by their whole names? The plot was cute but the writing style left a lot to be desired.
I think maybe if I was warned how Christian based this was, I would have liked it more? But it just kind of smacks you in the face and keeps smacking you.

This middle-grade book tells a tale of a 13 year old boy who lives in a town stuck in perpetual Halloween. I found the story here to be disjointed (beware a book that feels the need to outline all of the central characters up front, good writing makes everything clear in the telling). Also, I felt that while the reading level was appropriate for middle grade (a bit on the younger side, even), the story itself felt too young for the age of the protagonist. Overall, it felt that this book was trying to capitalize on the popularity of another magician named Harry. Unfortunately, it doesn't begin to match the magic.
