At first the story seamed a bit forced, but later on I loved the story and specially loved how it finished. Although it is very erotic, it is very much a great love story and I really enjoyed it.
I loved this book by Lauren Rowe and plan to read more by her. This book is the perfect read and it has everything-a great story, good plot, awesome characters with great dialog and of course lust, love and a great ending.
Abby Medford works at a hotel on the night shift and is paying her own way through Law school. Abby has had a rough time in her teenage years and now that she is older she tries to act respectably, but she lets her true self out onto a blog where she is known as 'Penelope Pleasure'! During the dead zone at work(where there is nothing to do) none other does her teenage crush walk in- Rockstar Lucas Ford! Unfortunately he is in his worst form ever, sitting in lobby smoking, waiting for his aide to check him into Suite 1A. Right before he walked in her co worker Danica and her were watching a sex tape of Lucas and a woman and it showed it all especially when he stands there naked and proud on the video!
Abby has to tell him to quit smoking in the lobby and he totally does anyway and he calls her 'Abby the a** kicker. Danica can't believe he is there either and when she answers the phone several minutes later it is Lucas Ford asking for Abby to bring him room service and Danica can't believe it-he would pick Abby over her!
What follows is a great read. When Lucas asks Abby to be his muse for the rest of the time she is there, things get unbelievable from that point. Things happen that they both do not expect and when you get to the end you will see what I mean!
I gave this book5*****great stars and I can't wait to read more by Lauren Rowe!
Absolutely the best book, I sat and devoured this one loving every minute. Lauren pulls out all the stops with this book and the characters are just over the top perfect.
Abby works the nightshift at the Rockford, it's the only job that allows her to cram study time in to her already overbooked schedule, with law school full time and maybe a little sleep crammed in there.
Her co-worker Danica spends most of her time catching up on gossip rags and some hot you tube videos on her phone. That's the night that starts the whole ball rolling here when Abby's boy crush rock star has a sex video leaked and after much badgering by Danica finally watches it. Yes, it's the whole act filmed, with the star looking right at the camera. That man is Lucas Ford. Abby watches most of it, disgruntled that it did cut into her study time and pretty much lowers her impression of Lucas. But the man still melts her panties. No doubt about it.
Shortly after they watch the video a nerdy looking guy comes in and requests the penthouse, which is available and says he'll be right back and in wanders Lucas. In a daze, wandering around the lobby, finally plopping himself in a chair by the elevator and lights a cigarette. Miss Abby isn't having any of that, and goes over to tell him he can't smoke indoors and cites California's clean air act of whatever year it was, and Lucas being Lucas doesn't give a rats rump but gives Abby a run for her money. All the while he's teasing her, she's trying to get him to put out the smoke. He nicknames her and throughout the course of the book he comes up with any. My favorite was Assassin.
Lucas has a meltdown that night at a local concert because the crowd was demanding an old song that was their breakthrough song. He has one more album he committed to writing for his label and then he's free. He's in a slump, they want him to cough up another top hit and he just doesn't have it in him. Until he decides or realizes that Abby is his muse. And that she is. So each night during study time she goes up to the penthouse, they eat (most of the time) have smoking hot sex and then he writes or plays. He's only there for a week. It seems even her mere presence does something for him that inspires him to write. They grow close too, Abby doesn't want to be a lawyer, she wants to be a writer and has a blog under an assumed name and she lets him read it. He loves it. Her parents are cold and demanding. She's doing what is expected of her. He gives her hope and a nudge to be who she is, and to pursue her dream, not theirs.
The week is up, he leaves her with a note. That's it. A note. She's miserable. She realizes her feelings run pretty deep for him. Meanwhile the new album is an absolute success and you have to read the book to get the names and understand it... it's priceless. So are the two of them. So here we are, at the Grammy's and there he is with some hot blonde on his arm. He wins, and his acceptance speech is well, you'll melt.
That's not the end of the book. You have to read it to see what happens between them. If Abby the Assassin quits law school and follows her dream. Does she see Luke again and what happens between them?
I loved this book, I can't say it enough. The characters were perfect, the plot (yes there was a plot) was intact and flowed perfectly, the story was just perfect. It's smoking hot, funny, plenty of love, a touch of angst, and Luke. Let me not forget about Luke. Luke and Abby are the "it" couple of this series. Read this book! You'll love it.
Bravo Lauren! It's insanely good!
**arc from NetGalley and Waterhouse Press in exchange for a fair review**
If I could give this book 10 stars, I would. This is the 4th Misadventure book I've read and it's now one of my all time favorite books. Wow, it's hot, sexy, snarky, fun and sweet. I loved it. It's going in my reread pile.
Abby was a night clerk at a hotel while studying to be a lawyer (which she hated). What she really wanted to do was revealed much later in the story. Luke was a very hot musician who had a meltdown at a concert. His manager checked him in to the Penthouse at her hotel. Abby gives him grief about smoking in the lobby and then he requests her to bring him food. From there it is hot, hot, hot. I won't write spoilers, but you should definitely buy this book. You'll love it. I will definitely be looking for more from this author.
I got this book from Netgalley for an honest review. I reviewed on goodreads, and will add Amazon when it is published
Unfortunately the book was not for me, no review was publicly posted on Amazon, B&N, Goodreads or Twitter etc, so no ratings were affected in relation to it.
There are certain tropes in romance that I do not read and would like to be given warning of. Menage is one of those things. There was no warning of it before I started reading this book, and I stopped as soon as I realized it was going to occur., I am all for not giving the story away, but this is something I do not enjoy reading, and I definitely would not have requested this book if I had known it was contained therein.
I have refrained from posting a review because I stopped reading due to personal preference rather than having any particular issues with the portion of the book I did actually read.
The opportunity is still appreciated.
3.5 Stars.
Misadventures on the Night Shift was one I’d slot onto my smutty guilty-pleasures read shelf, and spiced up my Sunday quite nicely.
”I want to play you a song I wrote. A song about you. And then I want to show you my d!ck.”
Law-student-by-day and hotel-employee-by-night, Abby has loved rock-god Lucas Ford along with many others for years, and when he books into the hotel after a meltdown on stage, she finally gets to see the man who inadvertently starred in her younger selfs fantasies. Fantasies that now get to be played out for real as he needs a muse and she’s the perfect woman for the job.
”I’m going to give you the night of your life, Angel. To thank you for giving me the best songs of mine.”
As they quickly get up close and personal, Abby and Lucas are hot, steamy and satisfying and we’re brought everything from role-playing ménage to kinkier one-on-one action. There’s not a huge amount of depth to the story, granted both have pasts and open-up as time passes, and there is a period they aren’t together where they get their sexual appetites fed elsewhere (although that’s off-script), but all in all if you’re looking for a shorter read that falls into the smuttier category yet also delivers a good old dollop of sugary goodness, this is likely to hit the spot.
I just love this series, can not get enough, thank you Meredith for writing these amazing books with all these different authors can not wait for the next book

I received an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review.
Abby Medford works as a desk clerk at a hotel on the night shift. She leads a mundane life, working, sleeping, studying. The hotel gig gives her an opportunity to study during the "dead zone" hours, get a good salary, so a win-win. Her world is about to get "very interesting" when in the middle of her shift, in walks Lucas Ford...cocky, full of himself Rockstar. He has Abby's attention as he swaggers in and causes a disturbance as soon as he arrives. When she does meet him face to face, she realizes this is her teen idol. She remembers the "naughty" thoughts and actions she experienced while she was looking at his poster.
She becomes his "muse" as he has lost himself and cannot write and sing as he did years before. Abby jumpstarts him again with her honesty. Luke finds out that her kindergarten demeanor is a front, not really what she is like. Abby has been quite a sex rebel in her day much to the disappointment of her parents and Luke brings it back to life in a big way.
This is hot, sexy and steamy, and from my own days of working the night shift, nothing like this happened to me.
It's a great blend of humor, sexiness and romantic feels as they go through their journeys together and hopefully both discover how they really feel about each other.
I recommend this highly.
Wow! This is one hot, steamy read.
Abby is holding down a night shift job in an upscale hotel whilst attending law school. She enjoys that time, mid-shift , where very little happens and she is able to study.
Lucas Ford is a hotshot musician who has been Abby's celebrity crush for a number of years. After a very public meltdown, Lucas is whisked off to write new material and ends up in the penthouse of the hotel in which Abby works.
Following a confrontation between Abby and Lucas, an unconventional 'relationship' develops between the pair.
Lucas is determined to find his writing mojo and wants to re-create a time when he was at the top of his writing game.
He has a plan. A plan that involves lots of hot sex but not just with him! A plan that includes a very definite end where Abby needs to abandon him...in his despair, he will write award winning songs!
As one might expect, things don't quite go according to plan and Abby and Lucas part ways.
I was truly worried that this would be a time where there was no HEA. I needn't have worried, Lauren Rowe weaves a story that is steamy, sweet, tortured and ultimately love.
I can't get enough of this series!! Installment six was HOT. Abby and Luke were both well written but troubled characters but together they were a hot and honest couple. Their interactions were real and I liked them as a couple. Their story moved along well, making me sorry when it ended. The only thing that I wished for was to hear Luke's POV since the story was told completely from Abby's POV but overall it was a great read.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy via NetGalley.
This book was ABSOLUTELY AWESOME! This book just sucked me in and took me for a ride. I loved how spunky Abby was and how dark and broody Luke was. He was an asshole but she certainly set him straight and rocked his world. Their play-acting turned into a real romance but they weren't individually ready to commit and I liked that they worked on themselves and became happy before they finally got together. This book made me tear up! It is a must read!
I wasn’t sure what to expect from this book. This is an erotic romance and it definitely is erotic let me tell you. The characters have a past. A past that they can’t seem to escape. There is a lot of heart in this story. They have passion too but the alluring quality of this book for me personally is their hearts. Their souls shine through and I love that they stay true to that all the way throughout this book.
Lucas is a moody rockstar. Cliché I know but I love him. He’s moody but he has a right to be and when you realise why you’ll see why I love him. He has a fangirl in the form of Abby. Lucas clocks her as a shy girl who doesn’t seem to like sex. I did giggle a lot but actually this book really surprised me. There is more to this story than the cover shows. Trust your instincts and read this book. For me it definitely did not disappoint. I loved every single aspect of it. It was well written too.
5 stars
This, like the previous books in the series is a fast paced, quick read with lots of twists and turns and plenty of steam. This has been my favourite read of the series so far and my first experience of Ms Rowe's work and hopefully it won't be my last because I really liked this book.
What would you do if you suddenly found yourself a muse to the one man who can make your panties melt and haunts your dreams. If you had the opportunity to turn dream into reality and find out if he really could rock your world, would you do it?
A scorching hot read from Lauren and I can't wait to read more!
Misadventures on the NightShift - LAUREN ROWE - Book #6 in the Misadventures series.
I received this book for an honest and unbiased review.
Abby Medford works the night shift at the reception desk of the Rockford Hotel while also studying law and surviving her parents life lessons. Her friend at work, Danica spices up their shift one evening with a seriously hot YouTube video of Lucas Fords bedroom escapades, setting Abby on a collision course with the spoilt Rock Star.
Lucas Ford is feeling jaded and hamstring by his recording company, who are pushing him to write another super hit. What they done realise is that Lucas just hasn’t any emotions left to care about writing the song but they stash him away in a Denver penthouse with no alternative.
When Abby takes on the rock star for smoking in the public area of the hotel, Lucas’ interest is peaked and becomes the catalyst for an incredible week for both of them.
A seriously hot story about a sassy young woman and the rock star of her fantasies, exploring their sexual and emotional mine fields in the name of making music.
This story grabbed me from the very beginning. I loved Abby’s sassy mouth and her excruciating backstory but Lauren Rowe certainly knows how to write a bad boy rock god in Lucas Ford.
I wanted to simultaneously jump him and throat punch him at the start but he definitely has become one of my favourite Rock Star characters.
Thoroughly enjoyed this story and. It’s an Incredible addition to this fabulous Misadventures Series.
I love this book! It is my absolute favorite so far of the Misadventures series. I loved the entire story!
I was so excited to read this book because I've heard such great things about the "Misadventures" series and I love a good rock star romance read, so I was thinking this book was perfect for me. I'm sorry to say it didn't turn out that way for me. I liked the beginning of the book until Danica started showing her true self. I hated how Abby took the insults from Danika like they were nothing and just brushed them off and even agreed with her to a point. Then there was the generous offer she was willing to give to Danica to help her out with her mother. To say I disliked Danica is an understatement. I enjoyed the back and forth banter between Lucas and Abby. There was definitely a lot of steam to this story, so it does not disappoint if you are looking for an erotic read. The title of Lucas's songs were perfect. I couldn't believe what Lucas, his friend and the friend's girlfriend agreed to do, but hey when it comes to this story to each his or her own. However, I expected this story to have more of a realistic feel to it and I didn't get it. It was very over the top and unbelievable and I'm not knocking it; it just wasn't for me. Even though it wasn't a story for me, its the perfect book for readers who love a good over the top rock star romance read.
Wow. wow. wow that was a steamy read! This is the first book I have read by Lauren Rowe and it definitely will not be my last!
Abby, angel on the outside but burning hot on the inside. On night shift she finds herself faced off (and not backing down) with non other that her rock star crush since the age of 15 Lucas Ford. With her kindergarten teacher looks and sassy mouth she was exactly what Lucas Ford needed.
Lucas Ford is on a dead line to write his next hit song and with the longest case of writers block he never expected to find his muse in the Night shift hotel clerk. Any time he is with her sparks fly and so does song ideas.
There is SO MUCH CHEMISTRY between these too! I read this book in one day. I could not put it down! even when it ended I wanted MORE! I cannot wait to read more of the Misadventure books by Lauren Rowe. I recommend this book to anyone who loves rock stars, romance, steamy reads and HEA.

it was amazing
Amazingly HOT. This book was was off the chain! You must read this book.
Abby Medford is a college law student who works the night shift at a hotel. Working the night shift has its perks. She's able to study during her down time on her shift but she never thought she would meet the famous rock star Lucas Ford.
Lucas Ford of course is known as the sexy rock star. However the public doesn't know the real Lucas Ford. Well until Abby Medford took him room service that he requested she deliver. Hmm will Abby get to know the real Lucas or will he push her away ? Must read to find out.
I voluntarily received an ARC from Net Galley for a honest review.
I thought when I read the preview of this book that there would be adventuresome scenes with out of the ordinary scenarios. While the story was well -written and certainly steamy, it just wasn't quite what I was looking for.
This is the sixth book in the Misadventures series. You do not need to read them in order, or know any of the others before reading this one. Abby is a hotel clerk who has always appreciated working the night shift so she can study. One night, in walks Lucas Ford, Abby's teenage crush, who also happens to be a rock star with a newly released sex tape, searching for a refuge from gawking fans. Abby is still a bit in awe, but quickly learns she is in no mood to deal with some entitled celebrity. She tells off Lucas, and he in turn is intrigued by this sassy hotel clerk.
Again, steamy story, just not the book I thought I was picking up. Three stars.
