This was a great short read. It was hot as hell; the characters are edgy and interesting with amazing chemistry and the story was fun and engrossing and one that I devoured start to finish.
This is the first book I've read by Lauren Rowe. I was drawn to her writing when she wrote bedtime stories in the KU Korner on facebook. She was able to draw me in and left me wanting more.
I've loved the Misadventures books and I was thrilled to read this one. From the get go, I was drawn to the characters. The romance was HOT and Abby and Lucas got under my skin. I kept hoping for a different outcome for them and my heart broke for them as things played out. I was surprised that such a short story could have such an impact on me. I fell in love with the characters and the story and got all of the feels. It was a great read and I'd love to see more of Lucas and Abby sometime. I fell hard for them.
Woo hoo, I've got a new favorite in the Misadventures series! Lucas and Abby make a hot couple, and their journey ended up being so sweet, sexy and swoony that I fell in love so hard.
Abby works the nightshift, aka as The Dead Zone, at the Denver location of The Rockford Hotel. She's working The Dead Zone when she meets a disgruntled rock star, Lucas Ford, in the lobby of the Rockford, and she lectures him about not smoking in the hotel because of Colorado's Clean Air Act. It sparks something in him, and he comes up with the genius idea of having Abby become his muse so he can finally write some music, enough to finish the last album he owes his soul sucking record label before he can have his freedom from them.
Their fun, sexy times are so hot I think my Kindle may have melted, and Lucas and Abby are so sweet and cute together that I was rooting for them from their very first meeting. I love how Abby grew into her own, thanks to Lucas' nudge (and money), and their reunion and HEA was pure romance gold. If you've been reading the Misadventures series, or even if you haven't been, you will surely fall in love with the rock star and the hotel clerk as they get down and dirty, write some music, and fall in love.
A great steamy smoking hot romance book that will leave you breathless and wanting more from these characters.
An unexpected meeting leads to a fun connection between two repressed souls! Lauren Rowe takes us on a sensual jaunt of finding oneself when the least likely people to meet and hook up actually make a go of a spur of the moment fling that brings more fulfillment than they were expecting out of their temporary arrangement. The characters have a feisty connection that makes you laugh and the heat they bring to the pages is exciting! Enjoyed their story!
Hotel clerk Abby Medford enjoys working the night shift because it gives her several hours of downtime to study for her law degree, but she never expects the excitement she encounters late one night ... her teen crush, rocker Lucas Ford just walked in!
Lucas is butting heads with his label and checks into the penthouse to get some much needed writing time in ... only problem is, he hasn't been able to write anything worthy of putting his name on for himself in a long, long time. A sassy hotel clerk catches his eye and her honesty is refreshing ... could a little sexy time with her be the key to unlocking the songs brewing in his mind?
I absolutely loved every page of this book! I was hooked on this story at page one and didn't want to put it down! Abby and Lucas are super hot and naughty together and I thoroughly enjoyed the banter between them. Abby is a sassy spitfire and I loved how she put Lucas in his place when they first met even though he was her teen crush and super rock star. These two are absolutely perfect together and so good for each other. They each build the other up and become good friends as well as lovers. And what Lucas does for Abby so she can chase and live her dream....swoon! It took awhile and I wasn't sure they would get there, but after a long separation these two get their HEA and it was perfect. Abby and Lucas are now one of my favorite couples and I hated to see their story end.
Lauren Rowe has a way with words and you won't be dissapointed with this book at all. You won't regret getting your own copy to devour. Just be prepared to read it all at once.
I truly struggled with this story! I found it predictable and the characters lacked depth. The storyline had such pr Mise, but the execution just didn’t work for me.
I absolutely loved this novel!! I am just loving the Misadventure series. So hot and sexy and full of original stories!! Can't wait for more!!
I would like to thank Netgalley and the publisher for an advanced copy of this book for an honest review!
Note: Do NOT read this one at work like I did. It's way too hot and spicy to handle at work. But you can't stop yourself from reading it either!
Abby is working the night shift - hence the name - at a hotel when her favorite rock star comes in and needs a room. Yes he's famous but Abby won't put up with him acting horrible and entitled. So she tells him off. And gets Lucas's motor running and interest piqued.
And this starts Abby's misadventures while working at the hotel. Her hot misadventures.
Another AMAZING Lauren Rowe book!
Didn't finish - I read at least 2/3rd of the book - no strong romance, sharing without passion.
Dancia and Abby work third shift at the Rockford Hotel. During the “ dead zone” hours- two to three hours where nothing ever happened at the Rockford and Abby would get a good chance to get some studying done.Abby is going to law school part time not because she loved the idea of being a lawyer but s she won’t be a disappointment to her parents. Abby had been a wild child in her teens with a zero impulse control. But Abby had a secret- she was also the author of a of her own sexy blog. Abby felt Lucas Ford was the sexiest rock star she had ever seen. The man had decorated Abby’s teen walls ten years ago. He was one of the few things Abby would let interrupt hier studies. Lucas had been Abby’s teenage fantasy. Danica has known Abby for two years since she had worked at the hotel. Danica said to come look at her phone it was a sex tape of Lucas and it made Abby hotter than hot. Danicia told Abby that Lucas had a meltdown at his concert that night and had walked off the stage and left his band there and didn’t return. Then about three in the morning Abby got a call about renting a penthouse but the person said they would be there in two minutes and hung up before Abby could get a name or credit card information. Then walked in a nerdy looking man who seem to fit the voice on the phone then behind him came Lucas Ford. he was renting Penthouse A for a week. Abby couldn’t believe her eyes to actually see her long time idol. Then he sits down across the lobby and lights a cigarette Abby has to go over and tell him he can’t have a lit cigarette in a hotel lobby in Colorado Lucas calls her Abby the Asskicker bit not in a rude way. Lucas felt he was being held back creatively by his record label. Lucas had called down and specifically asked for Abby when Abby got on the phone he wanted her to come to the penthouse she said she was still working but she could bring him some food o she made him a quick sandwich and grabbed the bottle of booze he had requested and went to his room. But he was very rude to Abby and she told him off and left his room in a huff even left her blazer there in the room. Lucas knows he must write a song that will be a hit for his record company then he can produce his fourth and final album for them. The next time Abby comes back to work she finds out she inspired Lucas and he wrote a song and his record label even liked it and Abby became his muse.
I didn't like this book’s beginning chapters. I felt it was just crass so I didn’t even try to make myself finish this book. If I can’t at least like the beginning of a book I find I just can’t get into it no matter how it ends. I am sure someone else loved this book just wasn’t for me.
Misadventures on the Night Shift by Lauren Rowe centers around Abby Medford, who works the night shift at the Rockford Hotel while studying to be a lawyer. She has had a crush on rock star Lucas Ford since she was a teenager, but since he’s a rock star— so has everyone else. Not long after a sex tape of him leaks on the internet, he happens to check into the Rockford. During their first encounter, instead of being appropriately fan girly, she shows enough sass that she earns the nick name ‘ass-kicker’ from him. After another less than perfect encounter with Lucas, it seems all hope of her long-time fantasy living up to expectations are out the window. But Lucas redeems himself, in a way, and they reveal a variety of inner demons to each other.
Misadventures on the Night Shift by Lauren Rowe deviated from the path I thought it would take multiple times. The hot, sexiness and eroticism was an on-going and well-done theme throughout the story, and layered well with the added drama that the characters created. If you are a fan of MFM themes then Misadventures on the Night Shift adds that in as well.
Overall, I recommend Misadventures on the Night Shift by Lauren Rowe as a hot, entertaining, and sexy read that is fast and fun, with characters who, although flawed, you can absolutely root for.
(I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book I received for free from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for my open and honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.)
This was a fun, quick, hot, and steamy book.
Abby loves the night shift, however when her teenage crush comes in her whole opinion will change.
Lucas is a rock star in a nightmare. When he steps into Abby's hotel he never imagines this chick isn't going to take his crap.
The banter was fun and the result was awesome..

I enjoyed this story. It was funny, smart, sexy; totally unrealistic but a good story, and a lovely, romantic ending. Well worth reading.
A well written romance with lots of erotic scenes. Misadventures on the Night Shift by Lauren Rowe gives a fantasy adventure of woman who meets the rock star of her erotic dreams. Its full of passion and drama, but its most of all lots of fun.
I feel like I’m late to the game on these Misadventures, but now that I have tried a few, they are on my one click list. In my opinion, these are similar to the 1001 Dark Nights series since each book is a standalone and is and they are a great way to sample new authors.
I wasn’t sure what to expect with this story, but it was so much more than I could have imagined. Abby is working the night shift at a hotel while attending Law school. It’s not her dream, but her parents. She was a bit of a challenge during high school and she feels like she owes them now. One night, Lucas (her teenage, rock star, crush) ends up at her hotel. She learns that behind the scenes of the rock star life is not all it’s cracked up to be and gets caught as being his muse to write his next album.
Oh my! This story is so amazing. For being a relatively short standalone, it is much deeper than I anticipated. This was truly amazing and is a great story with all the feels!
Hero 5 stars / Heroine 5 stars / Steam 5 stars / Plot 5 stars / Overall 5 Stars

Again we are on another adventure that does not disappoint the reader from page one of this book. This book will win the reader over with the charming characters, fast pace, steamy scenes and so much more. This book is an emotional thrill ride that will keep you reading through the night til you reach the end. Pick a copy to keep you company.
This was my second misadventure with this series and I really enjoyed it. I love the author, Lauren Rowe, and when this book was up for grabs I was all over that!!! This was the story of Lucas Ford, a sexy rockstar who’s in a rut and can’t seem to find his passion in life anymore. That is until he meets Abby, the sassy front desk clerk at his hotel.
She inspires him to make music again. To find joy in it again. It doesn’t matter what Abby does, from yelling at him, to just being around him and talking he can’t seem to keep the lyrics out of his head. Lucas soon asks Abby to be his muse and spend a week with him in the hopes he can write enough songs to make his next hit album.
Throughout the week Lucas and Abby become closer and form a special bond. The sexual tension between these two was crazy. And when they finally got to the sexy times it was HOTTT!!! Like Lucas and Abby are dirty filthy sexy beasts. Wowza was it a good time. I wish it was longer but that’s just cause I wasn’t ready to let go of these two crazy kids.
I recommend this book to anyone who’s ever had the chance to hook up with their rock star crush.
