This is the first time I have read a book by this author and I can’t wait to read more. Working on the night shift is known to have some interesting occurrences but nothing could have prepared Abby Medford for this one….Her favorite pop star, Lucas Ford, enters the hotel and is going to be staying for a short time to write his next album. Lucas had a bit of a melt down after his last concert and along with a sex tape of him going viral, things seem to be spinning out of control. Not to mention that he has had writers block for the past few years so trying to compose new material is posing to be a challenge. When Lucas meets Abby, the sparks begin to fly as she will not put up with his rock star attitude and promptly puts him in his place but that does not deter him from asking her to help him overcome his issues. The more time they spend together the closer they become and share their secrets. However, after the week in the hotel is up will Lucas just up and leave? Will Abby be able to deal with the aftermath of being with Lucas? Will these two be able to have a happily ever after? This is one story that has it all from drama to romance to two people growing to figure out what each one truly wants and the reader is left hoping that they will be able to find a way to be together.
I volunteered to read an arc provided by Netgalley.

This was a really captivating book! I loved Lauren Rowe's writing style, it catched my attention and didn't let me go until the end of the book.

The idea behind the book is really particular, and it was really interesting to see how the story developed, such was its uniqueness (at least for me).

I have to saw also that this book was HOT! Wow, the first sexual encounter, wooo! Hot hot hot allert!

I have to admit that I preferred the first part, while the second one was a little too quick for me, I would have preferred a little more details... but anyway, this was a really good read and I highly recommend it!

Hot, steamy and wicked! This is the story of an adventurous girl trying to be good!

Abby happens upon one of her youthful heartthrobs but this rock star is not as good in person as he was when he was merely a poster on her bedroom wall. With a past history of seducing unattainable men, Abby is doing her best not to let the arrogant rock star sway her resolve to only engage in wholesome relationships from here on out. If only the good guys weren’t so bland, adhering to her resolution would have been a whole lot easier.

Annoyed by his fans demands for him to play the song that brought him fame Lucas Ford stormed off stage. Now his management is demanding another hit song. He has been relegated to a penthouse in the hotel Abby works to regain his creative focus again but he is struggling to drum up the inspiration to write sufficient music to fill another album.

Flaunting a non-smoking indoor rule in the lobby where Abby works, she reads him the riot act and demands he cease smoking immediately. A simple request explodes to the point she demands a personally delivered apology. Meanwhile she reignites a flame within him he hasn’t experienced in a long time.

Determined to keep in the creative space Abby has regenerated in Lucas he comes up with a rather sordid suggestion and a lucrative deal Abby can’t refuse. His ideas for recreating his creativity equates into hot and steamy scenes that nearly warped my iPad. They play each other off in pure self-interest. What no one anticipated was for feelings develop and extend the game beyond the agreed playtime.

Once the game was over, the story slowed down into a reflective stance. It was in deep contrast to the fast pace evoked by the shenanigans Abby and her players got up to. Note the plural? The ménage she agrees to ends up being smoking hot and epitomises the role play/fantasy tangent the steamy scenarios stem from.

Abby was a strong confident character that was acutely aware of her issues. She didn’t allow her inner struggles to cloud her thoughts. Battling her inner turmoil as she fought the values she has had instilled in her, the victor is the voice of temptation who guides her through several potential risky choices.

The Night Shift was the second misadventure I have encountered and I know it won’t be my last. I rather enjoy the theme running through this series and like the concept of similar standalones being offered under the same banner. Amusingly, whenever I mention this series, I have to stop myself from referring to it as the misbehaving instead of misadventure - which gives you a glimpse into the direction of the stories I have encountered thus far!
If you get offered to take a night shift, you may just reconsider 😉

Fun, enjoyable read. I wasn’t sure where it was going at times with Abby and Lucas. Lucas was your typical rock star, cocky and arrogant and a total dirty talker. But he’s also burnt out and defeated. Abby harbors a longstanding crush, but their first encounter is less than stellar. Abby let the arrogant Lucas Ford know what she thinks of his attitude and in the process turns the man on like no other! What happens next is one deity, kinky fantasy. But as often happens with fantasies, feelings get real. I really enjoyed how the story played out and the hea that followed.

I have became obsessed with these short reads. Each one is unique and you don’t know exactly what you’re going to read until you dive right in. I also love getting the opportunity to read authors that I normally wouldn’t read or authors that are new to me. I’m finding a lot of new books to add to my TBR

I loved how Abby was quiet. Reserved. Where Lucas was the complete opposite. He commanded attention when he walked into a room. No one could resist a man like that not even Abby. I loved them together. They were perfect actually. They bought out the best in each other and it was like a dark cloud was hanging around them and it suddenly turned into a sunny day.

I loved how hot this book was but not only that it actually had a story to it. We grew to love these characters and it sucked when it was over. I couldn’t read it fast enough. I didn’t like some small things in it but if I told you I would ruin the book for you. It’s not enough to not like it though.

Misadventures on the Night Shift was so addicting! It’s hot and sinful. Sexy and dirty. I couldn’t read it fast enough!! It’s just that damn good. I’ve never read Lauren Rowe before but she can consider me a new fan!

Laurent Rowe is a new author for me and i loved her style. The book was hot and naughty and the chemistry between the characters makes it a must read for all the right reasons. Abby and Lucas makes this story so real you will not want to put it down. I voluntarily reviewed an arc.

OMFG!!! I am in love with Lucas Ford!!! And he is all MINE :D

I love Lauren Rowe's writing style so it is not a big surprise that I really loved this book. There is just something about a girl meeting her teenage rock star crush that really speaks to me :D I know I would love to be on her place. Both main characters are intriguing and entertaining. And let's not forget that Lucas is sinfully sexy with his brooding eyes and velvet voice. That's like the perfect cherry on top for this very hot, somewhat funny and definitely tantalising story.

I think Abby is one of my favourite female characters. She is strong and independent and at the same time devoted to her goals. Even if the current ones make only her parents happy and not herself. And I give her two thumbs up for not fainting when she meets Lucas. If I was on her place, I probably would. What, with all the history she has with his poster and songs :D But most of all, because even with all the fangirl feelings inside of her, she still gives him a piece of her mind when he acts like an as*hole. And that's what makes her different from everyone else around Lucas. That's what helps him climb up from the ditch he's fallen into for the last couple of years

As I mentioned before, Lucas is HOT. There's simply no way around it. He can mesmerise you with his eyes, melt you in a puddle with his voice, and leave you hot and bothered with his dirty mouth and kinky mind and probably in a blissful coma with some other parts of his body :D But he is also arrogant and even spoiled in a way. He is jaded and not interested in the world around him until he meets Abby. She brings his soul and creativeness back to life. Only problem is, the erotic games Lucas and Abby play, engage not only their bodies. In the span of a week, Abby's heart is on the line and there is nothing she can do to save it from heartbreak.

I am not going to go into any more details but I can guarantee you would want to read this story. The secondary characters are also a lot of fun even though Danika got on my nerves a couple of times. The HEA ending was also so sweet and even in a way romantic though I might of liked it better if it was more fireworks and passion. I think it would've fit better with the rest of the story. The only thing I was really missing, was to have Lucas' POV through the book. With that being said, I still think that the story is a must read :D So don't waste any time and #oneclick your copy asap ;)

Two things really enticed me to read this book. First, it is part of the highly addictive Misadventure Series. With how much I’m enjoying each book I fully intend to read every single one. The second reason is because I work the night shift… I thought what better way to pass the night by reading a book about it?

If you asked me if it held up to my Misadventure expectations, I would say absolutely! I appreciate that every single one of the stories are different have different things to offer. I would say that I loved this one as much as I loved the others. I am glad that there isn’t an end to the series. Time will tell if I will ever be able to choose a favorite one.

I thought Abby and Luke were fantastic together. They were both headed towards a downward spiral in their separate lives but once they found each other it was as if the world opened up for both of them. I loved how they became each other's inspiration, how they motivated each other to mature, and strive to reach their full potential. I loved how their relationship emerged especially towards the end. The time and distance away gave them ample opportunity to grow into their own.

Another thing I appreciated was how song became a part of the book. There are often times that I feel music to be unnecessary but in this case, I loved “Abby”. I thought it was a great way for Luke to express what he felt especially during that time that they were apart. I loved that it gave their time together - meaning, that even if it was just one week it together wasn’t just part of a “deal” rather a life-changing experience. Think about it…. If you were in Abby’s shoes the first time you listened to that song what would you have felt? Queue in the swooning….

I love a great rockstar romance and I thought this was one was terrific. It wasn’t just your typical hot and sexy romance it had life lessons too.The story was a bit shorter than I would have liked but I sure do hope we get to revisit this amazing couple again in the future like the others.

It was great! I could not put it down. Love the way Luke reads what Abby needs and thinks without her even saying it. Love the way she shews him up when he needs it. They just have so much chemistry and are so in tune with each other that they become the perfect fit for each other. They are hot together, bring the best of each other out to the open and they are very entertaining. With a match like that I wouldn't waste any time snatching him and not letting him get out of my grasp. A crazy idea to achieve freedom becomes the best idea ever! Because besides freedom it gave them hope and love. You need to read this. You will devour it!

MISADVENTURES ON THE NIGHT SHIFT is the sixth release in the Misadventures series. These stories are all independent and each stands on its own.

I love rock star romances and this is one of the best I have ever read. I read it in one night – could not put it down. I paid for it the next morning, but I would say it was so worth it!

Lucas is as flawed as a rock god can get. In my opinion, he’s forgotten why he’s on stage. Loving Abby reminds him not only of the reasons for the crowds in front of him, but she reawakens his soul and his heart.

She has dreams, too. I love that they aren’t thrown aside for his continuing career. I love his support and understanding. Oh, and I loved how incredibly HAWT they were together.

This was the first book I have read from Lauren Rowe. Looking ahead, I already know I’ll be reading at least one more, because she is the author of #misadventures #9.

Note: while I was given this book as a gifted ARC, my opinions are my own and are given freely.

Fun, fresh and sexy
4 Stars

This is the 6th book in the Misadventures series - a set of fun, sexy and modern romances that offer a light yet satisfying read. Like all the other books in the series so far, this book is a stand-alone and doesn’t contain a cliffhanger. It’s written in the first person but, unlike the others, this book only contains Abby’s point of view. But that works well in this story as we’re left just as in the dark about Lucas’ feelings and motivations as Abby is.

I loved Abby as a character. She was fun, feisty and the banter between her and Lucas was fresh and, at times, laugh out loud hilarious. The author made you like and care for Abby from the first and she managed to get me to love Lucas despite his arrogant behaviour and entitled attitude. I didn’t really understand Abby’s ‘issues’ as we went through the book but, as we find out near the end, there’s a reason for this which makes perfect sense as it tallies with what I was beginning to suspect.

One thing that irritated me was the scene where Abby tries, maliciously, to get Lucas to break one of his cardinal rules. He catches on but instead of getting mad at her, teases her for trying to manipulate him. Then she gets grumpy for his mocking of her and tries to make him the bad guy. Eh, no, love - that’s not the way it works.

The first full sex scenes in the book is a threesome - MFM - and boy, it ain’t half scorching! Only Lucas gets to really ‘do the deed’ which I was happy about in a strange kind of way while also enjoying the show. The premise to this sex was a bit silly - ‘let’s play act a time in my life when I wrote my previous hit single’ - but what do I know about the lives of rock stars and their strange fancies and creative processes!? It’s not about the premise, though, it’s about the sex and it burnt me right up!

Other than the threesome, everything was else was fairly vanilla between Abby and Lucas - but still sexy as hell. There is talk of anal and dp but that’s mentioned by Abby in a flashback of sorts - ‘we did all this last night’ - with no detail which was completely fine by me.

I would have given this book 5 stars except I have to admit that the run-up to the ending left me a little bit disappointed. The time lapsed in a couple of large chunks - 1 month later, 3 months later, 1 year later etc. This really killed the momentum of the story which had whizzed along up until that point. Then there was the addition of the movie star. Why? What was the point? I just don’t like this in any story. While we have the happy ever after and the book left me with a smile on my face, I had a twinge of annoyance added in with it which was a shame.

The writing of this story was fresh, kept me interested and hooked me from the first page. As I mentioned, it was also hugely funny in parts. I will be looking out for other books by Ms. Rowe and would recommend this book to anyone following the Misadventures series or looking for a fresh, light and enjoyable romance. 4 stars.

Wow! What a hot and steamy read. I had no idea where this one was going to go when I started it and the story-line wasn't what I was expecting completely, but it was certainly entertaining. Abby and Lucas are from different worlds but when those worlds collide, watch out.

Nice read. Don't get me wrong, this book is interesting but it's not for me. The characters and the story are ok but I'm not that into it. :( There's something in the story or the characters that I'm not that fond of.
The characters are ok. The book is full of steamy scenes that will make your toes curl.
Overall, this is an ok but it's not for me.

Misadventures on the Night Shift is a super sexy read with humor, a lot of kinkiness and heart.

"I'm going to give you the night of your life, Angel," he whispers, his voice husky.

Abby works the night shift as a hotel clerk. One night, Lucas Ford, Abby's rockstar crush, checks in to the hotel's penthouse for a few days. During this time, she has many sexual encounters with him. This is a fantasy come true for Abby, but it doesn't come without risking her heart.

This book was more than what I expected it to be. It's another favorite in the Misadventures series. Lucas and Abby were fun, sexy, and I wanted more of them. Their banter was fun to read, and they had crazy hot sex that burned the pages off. Abby had a good head on her shoulders, even when her hormones were on overdrive. She has a strength to do what has to be done for what's best. I like heroines that also think of themselves, and not fall into a world where it only revolves around the hero. Abby is quite a clever girl, too. I wanted to high five her for her cleverness. There were also times when I wanted to bump my head on the wall because of how dense Abby was being. I was like, "It's right there in front of you. Why can't you see? WHY? FFS, open your eyes!" As for Lucas, he's not very likable at first. He came off as an arrogant a-hole with a capital A. There were some things about him that didn't set well with me. However, there is another side that doesn't make him so bad. Being told only in Abby's point of view, we don't get a lot of depth on Lucas. I wished we could've gotten a few chapters in his POV. I wanted to know what was going on in his head, what he was doing, especially the last few chapters. On the other hand, this may have given a different feeling to the story. There's always bonus scenes. Maybe in the future?

Lauren Rowe writes a wonderful and erotic story. Her fun, quirky sense of humor shines through. This is one of the things that I enjoy of her writing. There's also a feeling of realism that pulls you in this fictional story. This is a quick, easy read, but there was something that stayed with me after finishing it. The best part and what I loved the most about the book is the message. It's one that I think anybody can relate to.

A hot Rockstar and an “Assassin” lawyer
This is the 6th standalone in the installment of the Misadventures Series! Talk about smoking hot and dirty and the best way possible! This is on fire from page one and does not end till the very end of the book! I'm truly surprised that the book didn't catch fire while reading it, it's that sizzling hot. When we me Abby who is working the night shift at a hotel she is the goody two-shoes or at least appears to be but in walks Lucas Ford her high school rockstar crush. He is an alpha male who just doesn't give a crap about anybody or anything and quickly learns about the “Colorado Indoor Clean Air Act of 2006” lol you feel the spunk and feistiness that Abby has along with the empty disparity & anguish that Lucas has. The chemistry is off the charts between Lucas and Abby and their growth and development throughout the story is amazing. I love their bantering. This is one of my favorite stories in the Misadventures Series! It does hit all the feelers and definitely has some angst to it. I was a little worried about the the ending of the story but I won't say why. You want to know and I know you do one click it today & find out . I have read only one other book by Lauren Rowe and it was Ballpeen Hammer and I loved it as well. I will be checking out more of Lauren Rowe books to read! Can't say enough on how much I loved this book!

Misadventures on the Night Shift by Lauren Rowe follows the quick and easy format of the previous Misadventures books, but takes the steaminess up several notches! I loved the chemistry between Lucas and Abby.

I have enjoyed all of the Misadventures books, but Misadventures on the Night Shift is by far my current favorite of them all. This one was more on the erotic side, but also had a good story and characters I loved.

Abby is a student who works in a hotel at night. Normally her evenings are spent studying, but one night the man from her fantasies, rocker Lucas Ford checks in. Before she knows he is making all of her fantasies come true.

Though this is fast-paced and quick read, there is a good story with lots of steaminess. I could not put this book down.

4.5 stars.

Holy Hotness!!! Abby Medford and Lucas Ford’s sexual explorations and erotic games illustrate the perks of working the night shift at a hotel and how easy it is to turn a lackluster, predictable job into an exciting and life-changing situation when Abby’s teenage celebrity crush allows her to explore her ‘innermost desires’ with him in his bed and anywhere else he can claim her body and maybe even her heart.

I love heroines like Abby – one who has an inner sexual goddess inside just waiting to be released by the right guy’s mouth, hands, and whatever he can use to bring her to orgasm. Abby’s past isn’t tragic but some bad decisions forced her to conform in a way that takes away her individuality and suppresses those traits that only seemed to cause her trouble.

The back and forth banter between Abby and Lucas was a perfect start to their ‘relationship.’ They definitely rubbed each other the wrong way after their initial introduction and they seemed to be at opposite ends of the spectrum when it comes living life, but there also were hints of who Abby could be and Lucas’ goading comments brought out her inner vixen, allowing her to enjoy her time with Lucas and the potential of what could be. And, seriously, who wouldn’t want to leave out some of your teenage dreams with one sinfully sexy rocker?

Lucas is definitely the quintessential bad boy rocker who has made a ton of less than stellar decisions, resulting in the clusterfuck he’s in when he walks into Abby’s hotel. Damage control is in full force, which means he needs to lay low and let his ‘people’ sort out the mess he’s in, and so he finds himself on lockdown looking to rile up the little schoolmarm but boy is he in for a surprise when Abby shows him more than just her quick wit and sharp tongue!

Misadventures of the Night Shift is another fabulous read in the Misadventures series; it’s interesting to see how each author molds her storyline to include some kind of disastrous moment or situation but then spins it her own way so that each novella is original and fresh but also utilizes the characters’ mishaps to further the plot and push them together.

The series is so innovative and unique that it could quite possibly add limitless books to its collection and based on the first 6 books, I’d definitely want to see what other calamities authors can develop into a story because the celebrity crush scenario in Lauren Rowe’s Misadventures story is something every single reader dreams about at some point and now gets to watch it play out on the pages of The Misadventures of the Night Shift.

How many times do you hear:
Wow, just wow. I loved it. And just WOW!
Does that get your interest? Does it tell ya how much I enjoyed this story?

Misadventures on the Night Shift is a mind boggling story with a hot sexy baseline. This story held me captive from beginning to end.

Night Shift Desk Clerk Abby is no saint. She’s that book best not judged by the cover. She’s smart, committed, and has a side to her that is raw, bold and not to be played with. Abby is quick witted and will quickly correct people when need be. But she has a history not known. A history that has been suppressed.

Late night arrivals are not unusual, unless they are Lucas Ford, the well loved lead singer of one of the hottest bands of all times. Lucas is hiding his own demons, as much as he is hiding from the paparazzi. Depressed and desperate, he needs an escape, a new motivation, and oh so much more.

So what is so special about this desk clerk in the middle of the night?

If first meetings are any indicator of where a relationship will go, theirs is going nowhere. Yet there is a battle of wills, and a melding of thoughts and ideas that surpass the imagination. When the lines become blurred, how do you see the real picture? From foggy to fantastic, these two make it work.

And when you think you have it figured out, surprise, you’re wrong. Yes, this is that kind of book.

Lauren Rowe, you have put together a very hot, fun, exciting, and demanding masterpiece. There is no doubt readers will come away from this story with the same excitement I did. It is my honor to bestow this 5 stars out of 5 stars rating to you and on this book.
