Wow just wow! Stunner of a book! When I heard Lauren Rowe was writing for the multi-author Misadventures series, I needed this book now! I am a tried and true fan of Lauren dating back to her phenomenal "The Club" series, and this book, Misadventures on the Night Shift, firmly earned it's place on my "read before you die" shelf along with her other masterpieces!
Abby works at an upscale hotel on the night shift purely so she can go to law school during the day and study at night during the dead zone-where there is literally nothing going on. She's wrapped up in a ball of debt and is trudging through school to a job with her dad's firm which is destined to be sure misery. She has dreams of course,.... but dreams don't pay the bills right.
One night rock star Lucas Ford walks into the hotel and Abby's life as she knows it is going to change. He's always been her teenage heartthrob and Abby has kept him up on this pedestal that no one can touch. But when an altercation with him threatens her idyllic and transcendent thoughts about Lucas Ford, Abby has to reevaluate her take on him and even her life itself. He had always been such an important part of her life, and how can she just throw away all that she thought she knew about him?
Lucas is delicious and he knows it! Cocky rock star, gorgeous, can have any woman... you know the type. He is taken aback after an altercation with Abby. Does she know who she is talking to?? He's Lucas F*cking Ford!! Abby takes him down a few notches and he is enthralled! She's evoked emotions he hasn't felt in years! He is there to write songs and after all the writers block he's had, he's surprised Abby's given him a way for the words to flow. He needs more of this muse!! They enter into an agreement and it's hot, and spicy, and sweet, and oh so special. Pure yumminess!!
I totally fell for Lucas and Abby and their unconventional romance! This is one of those totally unexpected and totally believable scenarios that happens so innocently. What develops is such a deep rooted quest for life, and love, and happiness with all that you are! Lauren has such a gift of weaving these characters into you heart that you literally feel their happiness and their sorrows. When an author moves you to laugh, or smile, or cry, it's a true testament to their writing ability and Lauren has that special gift!
Please go ahead and give this book a read! Once you do, you will see how Lauren wraps you up, holds your hand, and doesn't let you go! It may be a rocky ride, but it's oh so worth it! Then you will want to dive into her other works and I wholeheartedly recommend starting with The Club series! Maybe even grab the audiobook as Lauren narrates in them too and she is an infectious one to listen to!

This book was gifted to me by Waterhouse Press through NetGalley for a voluntary review. The review and ratings are solely my opinions.
Penthouse A will always hold a special place in my heart. This was a great story about a sassy strong woman and a broken rocker and how they heal eachother.
Whew what an awesome book. Steamy storyline that managed to stay believable. I’ve never read anything from this author before but will be checking out her other books.
This book was an excellent title in the New Adult Romance Genre. I really enjoyed reading it. The book was well edited.
Imagine your fantasies with your favourite rocker coming true, all the dirty goodness of it all.
Abby met Lucas when he was in a creative slump while working the night shift at a hotel. Although infatuated with him, she did not take any bs and unleashed her sass. I loved how she did not hesitate to put him in his place whenever necessary.
Lucas is a larger than life character with all the raw sexiness and creative genius. After finding himself in a funk, he made Abby a seemingly outrageous offer to help him overcome this slump and so the erotic games began. Some parts were so funny and made me laugh out loud yet felt hot and bothered!
Abby and Lucas may have gone into this arrangement with super-combustible ideas however quickly bonded and appreciated each other. Lucas is so lovable and Abby is a determined flower ready to bloom with the right person.
This book is entertaining to say the least.
4.5 stars.
Sexy, smart and funny. Erotic romance that was pretty surprising at times.
Great addition to the "Misadventures" series and I personally haven't read another book quite like this one.
I wanted to think a little more about what I was going to write before I reviewed this one but I just decided to go for it and review this now while I am still processing things.
Like I said it is different from any other book that I have previously read before and YES it is going to have serious triggers for some of my book friends.
Let me just say that there is a scorching hot MFM sex scene and some definite but relatively mild OW & OM drama involved.
My reaction many times throughout this book was "holy shit". This story though very much an erotic romance had lots of depth and a really great storyline to boot. It was surprising at times, a little mind-blowing and absolutely entertaining. I can totally recommend this book, not only was it a different read from what I had initially expected but it also exceeded my expectations by far.

Are they stronger together or apart?
Oh my I have so many feels for this book. Book 6 in the Misadventures series and it was absolutely amazing. I’ve decided adding the authors blurb below is probably the best book description I could start with. I’ll continue my thoughts below.
Author Blurb:Hotel clerk Abby Medford has always enjoyed the quiet solitude of the night shift. The long, boring hours allow her time to study her law books. But when bad-boy-rocker Lucas Ford checks into the penthouse suite one night and demands Abby personally deliver his room service request, her formerly quiet nights are quickly filled with Lucas’s erotic games.
But as Abby soon learns, if she thinks she can indulge her innermost desires with Lucas without giving him her heart, she’s dead wrong.
So I can say honestly this book was organically beautiful. The one complaint I have is I wish it had been written in dual POV. Lucas’s character could have been amazing had we gotten to understand his thoughts especially at the end of the book. The way Abby looked at herself and how Lucas saw her was beautiful to see her through someone other than her judgy parents. Both Abby and Lucas have some growth needs to become who they want to be. Will they do it together or apart? Without a doubt the chemistry between these two was off the charts and a must read book.
Thank you Netgally for the opportunity to read and review.
4.5 Star review of Misadventures on the Night Shift (Misadventures #6) by Lauren Rowe
Another fabulous addition to a series I am fast becoming addicted to. The variety of authors who are writing this series is amazing. Lauren Rowe is a new author to me and I have no idea why.
This was a fun, quick, funny read and not to mention smoking hot. Abby Medford works the night shift which suits her down to the ground. Her life becomes complicated when rocker and bad boy Lucas Ford checks in. Not only is he devastatingly hot but he is insistent that Abby deliver his room service request.
Will Abby and Lucas play out their fantasies without either of them getting hurt? Will Abby be able to stand the heat, or will she decide to run for the hills? Dare she risk becoming involved and the potential for Lucas to break her heart?
Lucas and Abby simply put, rock together (pun intended). I thoroughly enjoyed this book and felt it was a great addition to the series.
I received an ARC copy of this book through the publisher via Netgalley.
OMG I love this book! Super hot, quite naughty, a bit raunchy with an amazing ending.
~~~~~~~~~~
If you like it hot, you will want to grab this one. From the first few chapters, the author lights the flame, and holy smokes, it is burning hot!
But there is more to it than just spicy scenes. There is understanding between the characters, support, and plenty of humor. Then the heart pain kicks in and even a tear or too. UGHHHHH
And the ending... Oh God. I loved it so much. It took this book from a 4 star review to a 5 star review. SO sweet and so worth the read! Lauren Rowe did an amazing job and one author I will read again!
I completely enjoyed this wonderfully steamy story about Abby Medford, the hotel night shift clerk and hot, rock god, Lucas Ford. While it might seem that the story is simple boy meets girl, has a fling and it's over, it most definitely is not. It really does delve into a bit about perception, how other people's perceptions of you can change you and make you feel less than....and it also can show how one person's open, clear view of a situation, can change your future immeasurably. Abby, the muse and Lucas, the god are completely, superbly steamy and intense and made for each other. The question is...is it possible for them to ever truly be together?
Please note: I received a copy of MISADVENTURES ON THE NIGHT SHIFT from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you to the publisher and author.
Five stars and here’s why:
HOLY HOTNESS! The Misadventures Series is highly addictive! In this particular story, MISADVENTURES ON THE NIGHT SHIFT, studious law student meets bad boy rocker and sparks skyrocket. Super paced writing, hella-hot scenes, and a satisfying HEA kept me up all night reading it! We’ve all got that fantasy of a rock star falling for his number one fan and Lauren Rowe delivers. Highly recommend!
I received an advanced copy from Netgalley in return for an honest review.
Wowsers, what a very steamy read.
Abby and Lucas meet in the lobby of the hotel that Abby works in when she berates him. Lucas was taken by her fieriness and offered her a deal that she couldn't knock back. What happens from there is extremely steamy and dirty.
It was nice to see the characters grow over a longer time period than the original week, and that love is the outcome regardless of time and distance apart.
Very surprised by this book, it was definitely more than I expected.
This has also been my first book by Lauren Rowe and I think I'd sure pick more of her books. Misadventures on the Night Shift was a really hot, passionate, fun, read. The heroine is great and of course we have a bad boy who is almost impossible to resist. I'd absolutely recommend it and I'd warn people to have a fan ready because like I said this is one sexy book.
Another great read from The Misadventures Series, bad boy rocker meets law student and things really start to heat up on the night shift at the hotel Abby Milford works, this is her dream she has been fangirling over Lucas Ford since she was a teenager, will the bad boy of rock bring out her innermost desires and will she escape without giving him her heart. This is by far the hottest in this series but it is also a story about two people needing to move on and get over their pasts, it’s a love story and as with every book in this series they get their HEA which is one of the reasons I love this whole series. Different authors giving us different characters and stories but all of them will draw you in and every character is strong and loveable. Looking forward to reading the next in the series.
FINAL DECISION: This book was a disappointment. I really loved this book until we got to the conclusion. I just didn't buy the resolution at all. Too fast, too much left unresolved and there needed to be something more for the book to work for me.
THE STORY: Abby Medford is working as a night clerk in a hotel when she thinks her teenage fantasies have come true. Rock star Lucas Ford checks into the penthouse and notices her. After a rough start, the two find erotic playtime together combined with an emotional connection for two people searching for meaning in their lives.
OPINION: I liked so much of this book that I was really let down by the ending. Abby and Lucas are a hot lusty pair and their interactions range from intense fighting to emotional connection. I thought the connection between them was strong and I really enjoyed the heat in this book.
Abby is a woman who likes the bad boys but is trying to be good and build a life -- even if it isn't the one she actually wants. She works hard and goes to school but can't get excited by a future that might be outwardly successful but doesn't call to her.
Lucas is a rockstar who just doesn't have the passion for what he does any more.
When the two meet, they bring something exciting and hopeful to one another. I loved that part of the story.
Ultimately, however, this book just didn't work for me as a romance. I didn't buy the resolution of the story between the hero and heroine. Too fast, too many complications, too much time apart and too many people involved. The resolution seemed more like an accident that might change in time rather than a happy ending.
WORTH MENTIONING: Warning for those who don't like their hero and heroine having sex with other people after their supposed life changing "connection." There is a also a menage scene.
CONNECTED BOOKS: MISADVENTURES ON THE NIGHT SHIFT is the sixth book in the Misadventures series, but each book is a complete standalone with no overlapping storyline, characters or content.
STAR RATING: I give this book 2.5 stars.
NOTE: I received an ARC of this book via Netgalley in order to provide a review. I was not required to write a review or a positive review. All opinions contained herein are my own.
Review to be published on November 7th.
Misadventures on the Night Shift by Lauren Rowe is book six in the Misadventures series . This is Lucas and Abby’s story.
Law-student-during the day and hotel-employee-at night, Abby has always loved Rock megastar Lucas Ford along with others in the rock n roll biz but no one comes close to Rock God Lucas in Abby’s mind. So when Lucas books a stay in the hotel she works at, she finally gets her chance to see the living legend in person and what a chance she gets to have an up close encounter with him.
Lucas books a stay at a hotel after he had this meltdown on stage and meets innocent Abby compared to his debauched self. At first their initial meeting was sort of off but as they continued to interact, their relationship was was fast paced, sizzling hot and full of naughty fantasies that rockers can produce. The writing was tight and creative. I enjoyed this story and how the author knew just want to write and how to take the reader on a fantastic voyage. I enjoyed this story in the misadventures series.
My Rating: 4.6 stars *****
"I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book in exchange for an honest review***
This is more erotic than Lauren Rowe’s other books and I loved it. I am a huge fan of her Club series and spin-offs and was very excited to read about a new cast of characters. This was very well done and very hot (HOT). If you love rock star romances, you will love this. It is written with her trademark humor and was hard to put down; I read it in one sitting. I look forward to her next Misadventures book, “College Girl,” due out in February!
This is another amazing Misadventure. When a rock star (Lucas) is pressured to write a follow up song to his massive hit for his last album he needs a muse.
Abby works the night shift at a hotel as well as putting herself through law school she meets the rock star that she has had a crush on since she was 15. Lucas asks Abby to be his muse and then leave him after the week is over not only crushes her heart but also his. After almost 2 years apart they find there way to one another and the rest is history.
This has become one of my favorite books. It has such emotions portrayed between lucas and abby i caught myself crying and laughing and putting myself right into the story along side them! This book was such an emotional and erotic book all in one! I haven't stopped reading or moved a muscle since I started it! Destiny always has a way of showing itself and these two prove that around every corner!
I have to say, this book took me by surprise. Of all the Misadventures books I’ve read so far, this one is this most erotic. Since I was pleasantly surprised by this, I’m returning the favor and not revealing too much. Its well written, no abuse or cheating, but it does have a few risqué scenes...you may need a fan for this one. The only negative was a personal preference of mine. I actually get why the author did it, though. I’ve never read Lauren Rowe before. I was impressed and left very curious if her other books are like this one.
