I adored the first book in this series, Bossed, and I was apprehensive about whether this second book would be worthy of following the first. I'm pleased to say that my worries were unfounded. This too is a delightful read! This is the story of Matt and Kelsey, who were introduced in Bossed. Both of these characters are well developed and likeable, and their chemistry is off-the-charts hot. I laughed out loud numerous times, and I know I had a silly grin on my face while reading most of the book. My husband kept embarrassing me about it, but the story was so cute I couldn't stop. And the dirty talk and sex scenes...holy moly! I thought my Kindle would spontaneously combust. I will admit that I wanted to whack Kelsey upside the head a few times for her reluctance to take a chance on Matt, and I thought a little more explanation of her past and why she had such trust issues was warranted in this book, but neither of those things kept me from enjoying the story. This was definitely reading time well spent.

Absolutely loved this book !!! Sweet, swoony romance with some heat that will have you smiling from ear to ear.

You know that cartoon character that gets hit and then you are all dizzy and see stars and shit but in a good way. That is Matthew Stallworth for me.

I'm taking huge lady boner. I loved his cockiness at times, his sweetness and chivalrous ways. Yeah he is definitely going on my book boyfriend list.

Kelsey she was down to earth, witty and I could very easily relate to her.

I absolutely loved this storyline, the chemistry, the relationship, the banter. Even the uncertainty each of them had was easily relatable.

This is a definite must read for those that love a good romance that hits you in all the right spots.

This book really appealed to me for many reasons, from the wonderful witty banter and sexy vibe it had between the main characters to the chapter opening music quotes from songs by many wonderful musicians and artists.
I really loved Matt as the "down to earth" pro baseball player and Kelsey as the "emotionally guarded" music fanatic who works at an indie record store. I especially enjoyed reading their first date scene it was awesome reading and really set the mood and tone for the rest of the story.
This is my second book by Sloane Howell (the first being Bossed) and I really enjoyed it.

Sloane did it again with this one. Scored is a fantastic read. You first get a little taste of Kelsey and Matt in Bossed as the best friends of Jenny and Ethan. I love the fact that Kelsey and Matt got their own book. And boy is it a hot one. You still get that added comedy in with the hotness as well as the love of baseball. Matt and Kelsey are amazing. The banter will having you laughing out loud. I may have cheered there at the end. They stole my heart that's for sure. This an amazing read and if you loved Bossed then you will love this one just as much.

*Volunteered to leave an honest review of this ARC.

Love love love the banter between this couple. (My favorite part of the book.) Matt and Kelsey are a perfect fit for each other. She wants to deny her attraction to him, but he is making that impossible. She has been hurt in the past and has her guard up, and he is working hard to tear those walls down, but he also has a secret that could ruin all his hard work. It does have a happy ending though! :)

The characters are fun and real. The sex is hot. It's humorous and lighthearted (even if there is a heart breaking scene or two.) The story moves smoothly and it is easy and quick to read. It's one of those books that's hard to put down, and has pretty much everything I look for in a good book. :D

This book follows 'Bossed' and you will see some familiar faces, though it can be read as a complete stand alone.

Due to the sexual nature, I would recommend this to the 18+ readers.

♥♥ 3 Stars ♥♥

This is the second in a series by Sloane Howell (Bossed is the first in the series), and can be read as a stand-alone romance. It centers on Matt, a pro-baseball player, and Kelsey, a music fanatic who works at an indie record store. They meet through mutual friends and Matt has his sights set on her from...before the start. The prologue opens with him pining over Kelsey and is basically already ready to make her his wifey. Kelsey's been burned by love before, but there's not too much drama that goes on with that. In fact, there's not that much drama, period. The only tension in the book is Kelsey's reluctance to give herself over to a relationship and Matt's uncertainty with his career.

At about the 1/3 mark, I was already getting bored. Matt was cute with his interest in Kelsey, but Kelsey started to annoy me with how hot and cold she was. In addition, the sex scenes were hot, but also seemed kind of choppy, like they didn't really match the characters. This was an easy read for the evening that didn't require me to invest in the characters; I thought both the plot and characters were kind of flat, but I still read the whole thing, so there's that. I always love the sports romance trope so that helped boost it in my sights as well.

Scored was light and easy with minimal drama. There was some humour throughout and the characters were lovely and likeable. I would also say that our male lead was actually pretty refreshing given that he was a solid, nice guy and this made a change from a lot of the male leads out there. However, while I did enjoy this book, it just never really grabbed me at the core and I felt it needed a bit of a boom moment to give it a kick. This was an ok read for me.

**3.5 Stars**
This was my first book by Sloane Howell so I wasn't really sure what to expect. It was a fairly quick read and I read it in one sitting. Overall, I liked the characters, but the story just kind of fell flat for me. There were some funny parts throughout the book and some banter, but I didn't really think there was much depth to the story.

I was not the biggest fan of this novel. I enjoyed the dual POV's that the author provided which made me feel closer to each character. Although, this novel had higher expectations going in as it did when I ended the novel. I was entertained through the book but I had to push myself to finish it - I didn't get lost in the action or the characters. Overall, it was a pretty good read. Thank you for allowing me to read and review the novel.

This was a really fun, sexy story!! I loved Bossed and Scored was so much fun!! Although I think Matt should definitely have chosen the Yankees, lol. I hope there will lo be more stories in this series!!

I haven't read Bossed, but I'm guessing it was a good segue way into Scored. There were aspects of the story I enjoyed...the baseball aspects, and Matt and Kelsey finding each other. I understand her hesitancy in getting into a relationship because of her history, but the way she consciously held back, making him really work for it was over the top. And for him having to run around in circles for her was maddening.

I'd like to give it more stars, but I really think the characters didn't have much depth, I wasn't able to form an emotional attachment to them. The ending was priceless, and wish there more from Kelsey in letting this happen more often.
