This book has lots of practical recipes for busy families and lots of good information. When there is so much information available now, it is helpful to have a one stop shop.
This cookbook was a wealth of knowledge and helped steer me in the right direction for not only making all of my little one's food from scratch but helped me to plan out her menus and get new things in front of her. I loved all of the brightly colored pictured and the instructions were so easy to follow.

Amazing. I fell in love with it and I will be buying a paperback. Very clearly written, with short descriptions, interesting and a must have for everyone who has a baby. I will definitely try out all of the recipes in this book.
My daughter will be 16 weeks old tomorrow so I was really interested to see what this book could offer in terms of ideas for when she is to be weaned in the future. I do like to plan in advance so even though this is still a few weeks away I have some really good ideas for what I can prepare for her. The book was laid out really well and I liked the suggestions on how to introduce the different foods to check for allergies, etc and the tips on getting the plastic bowls and spoons. As a first time mum all of this is new to me and I thought that the book was ideal as a guide - 5 stars from me.
Easy recipes, lots of useful information & great illustrations. I personally don't have kids, but I can totally see myself gifting this to a mother who wants to learn more about nutrition. I do wonder whether this would be a good gift to a first time mom, since that first period can already be very stressful & I wouldn't want to make it worse. I guess it is all dependent on the mom in question ;)
The book does switch a lot between male and female pronouns to describe the baby, which kept annoying me whilst reading. I would have found it more logical if they had used 'they/them', but that might just be a personal preference.
Baby Food Universe is a fantastic resource for making your own healthy baby food with so many different flavors and foods to introduce to your children. The recipes are well laid out and easy to follow and the pictures make me want to try some of these as well.
Feeding food to babies is a big task . There are so many baby foods explained in this book..........
Baby food cookbooks are always finding new ways of making recipes for mashed bananas seem unique, but let's face it: baby food is pretty basic. Baby Food Universe breaks that mold with actually unique recipes -- the combo purees are quite creative -- and dietician and feeding tips. It's a quick and attractive read that is definitely worthwhile in new parents' kitchens.
Wonderful book! Many great recipes!!
I received an advance reader copy in exchange for a fair review.
Colorful, fully illustrated and scared parent friendly. Recipes in the title are easy to follow, the font used is very appealing and the food created seemed to please my child. The title offers tips for parents on the recipe page and a full age food introduction chart in the front matter. This is title is a very child friendly cookbook that could be used for any finicky eater.
Love that this has a section for how to incorporate breast milk into the baby food recipes! It is something that many families are interested in doing but there have not been a lot of resources for them to refer to. I also thought it was great to see a section for vegan families. The information is so important because many people don't realize that babies need special nutrition that adults do not. Finally, there are the easy recipes to make baby's first introduction to solids not just yummy, but healthy as safe as well. This is a great resource for families, especially for first time parents as it covers so much valuable information in one place that you do not find in many other books.
