Caroline Fardig never disappoints!! This is the 5th book in the Java Jive mysteries & the series just keeps getting better.

Juliette & Pete are back & tackling another mystery...... this time the death of Jules ex-husband Scott. The whole cast of unique friends, family, & coffee shop staff are back & in rare form.

This is a cozy mystery with a kick of spice.

Can't wait to see what happens next with Jules & Pete

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Not the strongest book in the Java Jive series, but I believe the series is finished now, so I don't have to make the decision if I want to continue on with the series. The mystery wasn't amazing and I found that the novel was just Jules questioning one person after an another. There wasn't too much detective work as the final piece of the puzzle she just happened to find.

Murder Over Mochas – a Java Jive Mystery by Caroline Fardig

This book was sent by ARC from Alibi through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Very entertaining. Caroline Fardig is a new author for me. It was a delightful, hilarious, rollicking adventure-romance-mystery story. The storyline and cover attracted me to sign up for the arc. Murder Over Mochas is the fifth book in the series.
When the cheating bastard ex-fiancé (who cleaned out her home and bank account over a year ago) shows up at Java Jive asking Juliet, the coffee shop manager who moonlights as a private eye, for help finding his kidnapped wife (the ex-waitress who hooked up with said bastard), Juliet’s alter-ego nicknamed The Red Headed She-Devil, punches bastard in front of witnesses. She becomes the prime suspect when bastard is murdered and dies at the coffee shop while talking to Juliet. Pete, Juliet’s BFF and coffee shop owner, is implicated as well since the police suspect that he delivered the poison in the coffee, Pete and Juliet team up to prove their innocence. Juliet has the added complication of Ryder, a cop who is an ex-boyfriend, but is not a bastard, helping her on the case. And relying on a couple of other PIs and zany characters collecting information from interviews and research. Hilarious disguises, false identities, falling into traps, extricating themselves from sticky situations and coming to the rescue all makes this book an intriguing and comical joy to read.
There are numerous twists and turns in the clues and crimes uncovered, including illegal kickbacks, B & Es, blackmail, kidnapping, adultery, corporate intrigue, cover-ups and murder. Jealousy, greed, pride, and stupidity combine to cause people to go out of control and ruin their lives.
Caroline Fardig has a special talent for creating very realistic lovable characters and villains you love to hate. Actually I was very pleased the bastard was the murder victim killed off at the start. Since most of these characters have been involved throughout the series, they have depth and personality. Love how Ms. Fardig writes the dialogue with witty comebacks. Juliet is a very red-headed fiery woman. She is especially sharp with her zingers. There is a lot of angst about will she or won’t she and with who. I understand from looking at reviews of the other books in the series that this has been a theme. If you are looking for explicit sex scenes, this is not your book. The lust and sex is there, but you need your imagination to fill in the details. If you are looking for excitement, romance, mystery, mayhem and lots of laughs, this is your book.

Highly recommend it for an enjoyable cozy mystery read.

Another mystery for Juliet. It was fun to read and kept you guessing for a little. Glad Pete and Juliet finally gave a relationship a shot and realized they should have been together the whole time. Really glad she and Ryder worked through their issues and are able to be friends and Ryder is with someone he really cares about

Honestly, I didn't expect to enjoy this one as much as I did.

I received an e-ARC of Murder Over Mochas courtesy of Netgalley and Alibi Publishing in exchange for an honest review.

The book had a very Nancy Drew vibe which I absolutely loved! I loved reading Nancy Drew as a kid and I really enjoyed reading this one now. The book does set itself apart as the characters are quite a lot more mature, but it did remind me of old days. The book is quite nice for light reading.

From the synopsis the story sounds simple enough and yet the need to know does want to make you reach the end! The plot was pretty well executed as I didn't really have any suspects till the final reveal which made it all the more interesting!

I didn't know there were more books in the series, but I definitely want to read the rest now.

I am new to this author, and found this book to be an enjoyable read. Juliet manages a coffee house and is also a private detective. Her boss Pete is her best friend. When her ex-fiance unexpectedly shows up, begging for her help and then dies, Juliet and Pete get involved in the case. They were not only the last ones to see Scott alive, but he also had stolen all of Juliet’s money and possessions in the past. Her ex-boyfriend Ryan (a police officer) also gets involved. It brings out many things in the pharmaceutical industry that are very realistic. It has a little more depth than the typical cozy mystery. I think I’ll go back to the beginning and read the entire series.

“Murder Over Mochas” earns 5/5 Clever Karma Conclusions!

I am new to Caroline Fardig’s Java Jive Mystery series, so when I was given the opportunity to read book five, apparently the final book in the series, I immediately sat down with my own frothy Mocha and was thrilled right off! Caroline started the adventure with “ex-boyfriend turned friend” Ryder (seems an oxymoron, but a very delightful dynamic) inviting Juliet Langley to a gun and knife show…Wouldn’t that be a better invitation for his current girlfriend and Juliet’s BFF Maya (another interesting dynamic, but it works)? But, it’s when ex-fiancé Scott pops into the Java Jive Coffeehouse asking for her help, he gets a fist in the face…OK, that’s more like it! I couldn’t stop turning the pages! Juliet, coffeehouse manager/amateur investigator, should have controlled her self better because that outburst and her history of being abandoned, left broke, stolen from, and holding the reins of a failing business puts her on the suspect list when Scott ends up dead. She’s got motive with a capital “M,” but murder?

Caroline Fardig has penned a delightfully engaging story with well-developed characters, clever mystery with ample clues, twists and turns to keep you guessing to the end, and more than a few giggles…it’s a purse! LOL! I really like Juliet and her band of exes and friends, and the relationship with her quiet indulgence Cooper, 23-year-old psych grad student. All are realistic, quirky at times, but definitely entertaining. The details behind the investigation seem right out of the headlines leading the group to the dark side of pharmaceuticals, kidnapping of the victim’s wife, and more ‘nail-biting’ personal jeopardy, but the twists and turns and clues all pop up due to Caroline’s writing an effective investigative style for Juliet. I really enjoyed this book, but I’m not done as I am eager to read the rest of the series as prequels…

Another entertaining mystery from Carolyn Fardig. Juliet is back working at coffee shop she worked in when in college after she lost her business to a sleezy exfiance when he shows up asking for her help. She punches him in the nose and he drops dead in front of her shortly after. She and her best friend Pete decide they need to investigate to save her from being charged with his murder and adventure follows on the way to love

The Java Jive series continues with a murder mystery that begins with Juliet's former fiance falling dead in front of her at the coffee shop. All of the regular characters are there, plus a new set of sleazy pharmaceutical salesmen. Action, suspense, danger, and a bit of hanky-panky keep the book exciting and interesting. The red-headed she devil makes a few appearances as Juliet works with Ryder and Pete to discover the murderer and shift the focus of the police investigation from Pete and her. The book has a bonus ending when not only the murders are solved, but the many romantic issues are resolved.

The main character Juliette and Pete are best friends and both work at Java Jive. Juliette's heart was broken and she almost lost ownership of Java Jive when her ex-boyfriend Scott, ran off with her money. Then he walks back into her life and she isn't happy to see him. Well, Scott ends up dead at Java Jive and Juliette and Pete are prime suspects in a murder investigation.

Taking things into their own hands, Juliette and Pete decide to find out who the real murderer is. The bodies keep piling up and they find themselves being hunted for something they don't have any idea what it is.

Murder Over Mochas A Java Jive Mystery is a roller-coaster ride of a mystery with lots of quirky humor thrown in. Lots of surprises and a very enjoyable list of characters. It kept me well entertained.

I received an advance reader copy from Net Galley and I voluntarily chose to review it.

This is a great book; this is the fifth book in the Java Jive Mystery Series written by Caroline Fardig. As a newly minted private eye, Juliet Langley has sworn to leave homicide to the authorities, limiting the scope of her investigations to cheating spouses and dirty business partners . . . like her ex-fiancé, Scott O’Malley. When Scott shows up unannounced at her coffeehouse, Java Jive, Juliet’s first instinct is to punch him in the nose. Her second is to turn down his desperate plea for help with a case that’s way too dangerous for her liking. But when Scott drops dead before her eyes, Juliet isn’t going to wait around for someone else to clear her name. This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. This book will keep you reading long into the night. If you are looking for a great book, then you need to read this book. I am looking forward to reading the next book by this great author. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader’s copy of this book. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) provided by the Author and Publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an fair and honest review.

Juliet finds her self up to her eyeballs in coffee grounds and murder, again. Just because things between her and Pete are as unsettled as ever, she can still rely on her "best friend" to help her out of her current predicament. I absolutely love it when Juliette's Red-Headed She Devil comes out and she comes out in a big way when her ex shows up. She's out and Juliette is accused of murder and Pete of being her partner in crime. The only way to clear their names is to discover what really happened and why. And, Juliet gets a hand from her cousin, Melinda Fairholz, and Melinda's best friend, Lizzie Hart, in Liberty, IN

"Murder Over Mochas" the latest in what is a very funny cozy mystery series. It doesn't disappoint and the how and why of the crime, not to mention the who, keep you guessing to the end. I especially love how Juliette has chosen to get over Ryder and it's not with her faithful best friend, Pete. Although, Pete is acting very unbest friendish, but Juliet hasn't got a clue.

Happy to be back in the coffee house. The protagonist is growing mentally and is showing some wisdom in the romance area. She still does tend to go off half cocked in the murder mystery aspect, but she is taking an accomplice and a phone with her. Of course, she is a PI, so there is some allowance as to her sleuthing ways, but her illegal actions do get her into trouble. Nice to see her stage fright being overcome and the joy her singing career can bring her. An entertaining cozy mystery series.

Another great Juliet Langley novel! I love this series so much and will read them as long as they are written. It's your basic murder mystery set in a coffeehouse and amateur turned professional sleuth wants to know why she is being targeted (again) as being framed for murder. This time is has to do with her ex which brings her back to her roots where she discovers dark secrets. If you love easy mysteries, this is definitely one to add to your read list!

Business is good at Nashville's Java Jive Coffeehouse where Juliet Langley is manager and her "best friend" Pete Bennett is the owner. Her fledgling second career as a PI keeps her busy and she is even making progress toward overcoming the crippling stage fright that destroyed her singing career. What could go wrong, right? Trouble comes in the form of Scott O'Malley, Juliet's former fiance who left her high and dry. Scott not only left her for a waitress that worked at the coffeehouse the two co-owned, he cleaned out the bank accounts and emptied their apartment of belongings. The business also failed, bringing Juliet back to Nashville. No wonder the sight of him strolling into Java Jive prompts Juliet to punch him in the nose. He gives her a garbled story of the waitress he dumped her for (and later married) being kidnapped. He has heard she is a PI and asks her to help him find her. Too bad that he drops dead after drinking a mocha that she served him. Now Juliet is the prime suspect.

Murder over Mochas feels like the end of this humorous series. Questions are answered, and the long-simmering attraction between Pete and Juliet comes to a satisfactory conclusion. I have enjoyed all the books and recommend it for a quick read with lots of laughs. Thanks to NetGalley and Alibi for an advance digital copy. The opinions are my own.

RATING- 3.5 Stars

This is the 5th installment of the cozy crime Java Jive Mystery series, and it is as fast-paced and well written as always. The developing characters add another interesting layer. If a reader is introduced to the series through this book, they will have no problem wanting to read the rest.

The coffee's not the only thing getting HOT in Nashville. Juliet's life is heating up all around her when ex-fiance Scott drops in for a visit and drops sead at her feet leaving Juliet and friend, Pete, in boiling hot water. In order not to be accused of murder, the investigate the case involving dirty deals and drug reps.

Exciting and intriguing this well written mystery keeps you turning pages wondering who will turn up next with a motive. Sassy and sarcastic, the characters are so much fun. Discovering what will happen next for Juliet is as entertaining as solving the mystery.

A big thank you to NetGalley for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. First time reading this author. I did not realize this was the 5th book in the series. It reads fairly well as a stand alone but there are times when you wish you new more of the background. I enjoyed the book. The conclusion was a surprise which I loved!! I hate it when they are to easy to figure 'out. Everything is neatly wrapped up as I think this is the end of this series. Juliet is one busy lady!! I rate this a 3.75. You might want to start from the first book but I think most cozy mystery readers will love this series. Give it a go and let me know.

Murder Over Mochas is a great book. I found the plot to be well written with great characters. This was a new author for me and I enjoyed her writing and will be reading more of her books. I recommend to readers who enjoy a good mystery.

This is the first book I've read by Caroline Fardig. I have read the first two coffeehouse cozies from Tonya Kappes and as I browsed other books, ran across this series. When I saw this book pop up on NetGalley, I decided I wanted to read it. Love the cover, college setting and no less in a coffee house and the of course, a murder. And because Juliet is a new private eye, who better to solve the mystery. Good cozy read, murder without the "real" world description of murder/gore, etc.
