This delightful book will have children engaged from the cover to cover. A pure white cat and an ebony black cat playfully interact and acquaint young kids with spacial concepts.
The two friendly felines interact together portraying opposites such as behind - in front, on-off, inside-outside, close-far apart, small-large, and under-over. The creative visuals greatly enrich these abstract concepts.
The illustrations are bold and colourful. The black cat and white cat stand out perfectly against the vibrant electric background.
This would be a perfect book to use with an ESL class or students that are new to the English language. I love the fact that it is formatted in board book style so toddlers will be comfortable reading it. I am sure they will go back again and again to follow those kitties as they teach them about spatial relationships and new vocabulary describing space and distance. I highly recommend this book.
The bright colors and illustrations make this very appealing to the youngest readers.
The terms are simple and clearly stated.
There is even a fun twist on the final page!
Cat Up, Cat Down is a very simple book to introduce concept of opposites and perception to children. The pleasant illustrations are presented in primary colors, appealing to our youngest readers. This edition is available in a board book format.

A nice pick if you’re covering prepositions or looking for a book that will teach the meanings of words like in, out, over, under to cat lovers. This would also be a good pick for ESL students learning these terms as the words are few and the illustrations are clear.
This is a way to talk about opposites. Cats are our main focus, but they illustrate the concepts well.
Sorry I didn't realize that this was a PDF, I only read Kindle galleys :( I will look for this darling book in the bookstores, I love cats and have five grandchildren. I was looking forward to this :(
This was a very colourful book with very simple language used to teach opposites. Each page taught a different concept such as up/down, big/small, back/front etc. I loved the color and educational aspect. A great book for teaching young children about opposites and prepositions. This book would also be a great one to use with new Canadians who are learning English. A great addition to a preschool class as well as family libraries and school libraries.
This bright, simple opposites book is sure to please children and parents alike! It is filled with positional opposites. It is great for toddlers through preschool and would make an excellent book for story time in the library!

I loved the color and educational aspect. I just know this will be one of my nephew's favorite book. The colors alone made this a perfect book for his growing library. Add all the talk about opposites, compare and contrast, and prepositions and we have one of the best learning books out there. It's perfect for toddlers but as an ELD teacher it's perfect for my third grade new comers that need language. This is a very visual way of learning prepositions. I know it's meant for younger kids but I can see this in my classroom library and even third graders enjoying it very much!
This book provides a very good introduction to spatial relationships for toddlers and very young children through the juxtaposition of a black cat and white cat. The illustrations are bright and simple and should appeal to the 0-2 year old age. The title would make a great addition to the home or pre-school library.
