Well, if you know anything about Darynda Jones, you know she always leaves you with a good cliffhanger at the end of her books and I have to say that this one has left her The Queen of Cliffhangers. I'm shook and oh, the wait is going to be torture, but it was still worth it reading The Trouble with Twelfth Grave. I was so excited for this book that I didn't read anything for days because it was all I wanted to read. And The Trouble with Twelfth Grave did not disappoint at all - it was everything.

You know where we left Reyes at the end of Eleventh Grave in Moonlight, so I'm not going to talk about him because I don't want to spoil anything, but I will say that he is just as irresistible and I love him just as much as ever!

And ditto with Charley - I love that woman so hard - she is a total boss! Charley is her same funny, sarcastic, coffee-addicted all-around-awesome self. She just makes me laugh and smile no matter what. Charley is honest and confident and she has so much power, but she's down-to-earth with a heart of gold. That's what makes her so special and I have to say that she's one of my favorite heroines too - Charley is truly amazing!

Ms. Jones had me laughing in the first few pages and all the way through. While you can't deny that the books in the Charley Davidson series are fun and brilliantly witty, there is so much heart in it with everything from heartbreaking and heart aching to heartwarming, heart melting moments too. I experienced all of those emotions with The Trouble with Twelfth Grave. It made me gasp in shock and outrage, made me want to cry and put me in denial a few times too. The Trouble with Twelfth Grave is an absolutely wonderful addition to this series, I completely loved it and to say that I can't wait for book number thirteen is a massive understatement!

The Trouble with Twelfth Grave is not a standalone, it's told only from Charley's POV and you're going to want to read the next book after that cliffhanger, but it is truly worth it to read even with the wait.

She has done it AGAIN!!! The only reason this has 5 stars is because I can't give it 10 I am in such shock! I can't wait for the next to come out..

Not only is Charley...well Charley! But she is trying to prove that Reyes is still inside after coming out of the God Glass an figure out who is killing people. I am in LOVE with this book.

Thank you Daryna Jones, Netgalley, and St. Martin's Press for giving me the chance to read this!

I LOVE this series. The narrator of the audiobooks does a fantastic job with the characters voices and emotions. She has helped me fall in love with these characters, even though I would still fall in love with them reading a printed book. This time there are a few shocks that made me gasp out loud while reading in a car with co-workers, they all had to know what happened. Reyes is not himself, or is he? We learn more about Charley being a God and what that means. Charley was snarky and funny as ever. This was a great addition to the series that explained more of Charley and Reyes' history and about the supernatural world.

Again, I could not put this down and read it very fast. I know I will be purchasing the series in an audiobook and listen to it over and over. That is saying a lot as I really don't read a book a second time.

No matter how much I love a book, there are always passages I gloss over. Not with this one. Every single word was perfect. Every single one. Great development in the series as well as the the characters. Met people we hadn't met before - loved how it was handled. Hilarious, serious - even shed a few tears at one point. Can't believe there's only one more after this! Loved - loved - loved this book.

I love this series so much, and I'm both excited for and dreading book #13, the final installment. As the penultimate book in the series, Charley and Reyes have grown into their characters and powers in a way that makes concluding the series plausible. Charley is one of my favorite characters of all time - I'm a sucker for a sassy/snarky lead - and the supporting characters are just as amazing.

Solid addition to a fantastic series. Highly recommended.

I do not know how Darynda Jones does it! She AGAIN, wrote another SPELLBINDING story in the HIGHLY addictive Charlie Davidson Series! OMG, I laughed so much through this story yet at the same time I found myself turning page after page because I was so....enthralled with the story! We still get SENSATIONAL humor and wicked, sizzling chemistry between Charley and Reyes and the mysteries had me ON THE EDGE. I could NOT put this book down until I was done, and then after, I found myself needing to absorb everything...and THAT ending...a real mouth-hanging open moment for me. I now am in desperate NEED of the next book.

The Trouble With Twelfth Grave was one hilarious, mysterious, sinful paranormal delight that just kept on giving, I swear! Even through the mystery of what and who the "new" Reyes is, we get that delicious heat and panting inducing chemistry between him and Charley. Its the kind that leaves you completely breathless and begging for more. And of course we get ALL our favorite characters: Cookie, Angel, Amber...all of them plus a few newbies that totally surprised me. And the humor...you just can't beat Charlie's sense of humor.

The Trouble of Twelfth Grave gets an ENCHANTING FIVE SHOOTING STARS! I will NEVER get enough of this series!

Well Charlie is up to her old tricks and I for one am still entertained. I do hope the wrap up is as epic as the romance and character development has been, but I'm not sure if this series will ever end. And can Beep get her own series already?

Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for a digital review copy of this novel.

Well, Darynda Jones has gone and written a thoroughly entertaining paranormal novel again, for the twelfth time! All the crew is there, we get to spend plenty of time with them and even learn a secret or two that even Charley didn't know about them. Reyes (Charley's husband who just happens to be the Son of Satan) is going through a hard time. So is it really Reyes or is it something that has taken his place? Read it and find out but prepare to be unsure. Charley is still the Queen of Snark and manages to get into more trouble than any mortal could possibly withstand. I've noticed when I read these books I'm always feeling tired - probably because Darynda Jones doesn't allow Charley to ever sleep and I'm sympathizing with the character.

Charley is trying to figure out who came out of the god glass because he might look like her husband but he sure doesn't act like him. Then the murders begin to happen with the strange damage to the bodies and even Charley can't figure out what could be causing those burn and claw marks. Why those specific people? Is there a common thread? The various plot threads are nicely separated so I didn't quite know where they were headed. There is much going on and Charley is pulled in a lot of directions at the same time. I loved having all the regular characters back in this story. Never would have expected to find Rocket, Blue and Strawberry Shortcake hanging out at a Chuck-E-Cheese, but that's one of the threads that didn't quite get tied up. Tune in for book #13 to see if the answer is there. Well, after the way this one ended we are all going to have to read #13 anyway. Smart move Ms. Jones.

Loved this book! But then again, I adore each book in this series. This is classic Charley Davidson: plenty of comedic moments interspersed with the moments that have you on the edge of your seat, maybe a couple of emotional moments as well. And I gotta say that I think the children's book that's mentioned in this story should really be a thing for this series!

I really enjoy this series and the whole storyline throughout and the main characters are great and I really recommend anyone who likes a good series with a supernatural touch to check it out!

I do love Charley and Reyes. Now that Reyes is evil though, and Charley may have to take back the mantle of god eater and destroy her husband, the book took on a different edge. Each time we get to visit old friends and new, and there are always constant surprises. I must say I didn't see the twist at the end coming, and now I can't wait for 13!

The first thought I had when I ended THE TROUBLE WITH TWELFTH GRAVE by Darynda Jones was OMG I have to wait a whole year for the final book!! For fans, this will be the longest year, for those not yet in the Charley Davidson fandom, you have a whole year to catch up. That is one book a month..totally doable.

I have been a fan (and reader) of the Charley Davidson book by Darynda Jones since the first book. This latest installment solves some of the unanswered questions and poses some fascinating new ones. While the discovery of the "children's books" telling Charley's story helps the reader a bit with the back story, I think the best way to enjoy this series is to start at or near the beginning. The fun, friendship, and supernatural hi jinks going on in each book is much enriched by knowing a bit about the previous novels. The ending completely took me by surprise and left me wishing the next one would come out sooner rather than later.

Darynda Jones is BRILLIANT! Not many authors get better in a 13-book series! Usually by book 12, it gets ho-hum. NOT SO with Darynda! Charley Davidson is just as clever, witty, loveable, and PERFECT as she was in book 1. I am now Jonesing (pun intended) for the grand finale, book 13! Can't wait!

Loved this book... It has humor, and OMG moments, everything that makes the Charley Davidson series great.
In one of my favorite parts they talk about a children's story, and reading it made me wish it was real. I love all of the little sayings at the beginnings of the chapters, and how most of the book make me smile and laugh out loud. At the end of book 11, we weren't sure what was going on with Reyes, well in book 12 that problem gets resolved but and the end we are left with another cliffhanger that makes me a little depressed about the wait until the 13th book is released. I cannot wait for it. You Should Read This Book.

Pub date Oct 31
3.5 A usual, this series 12th installment went by too fast. Though I do love the continuing storyline, it almost felt like not much happened (maybe it that was due to not much Reyes time?) However the finding of the 3 childrens books that seem to be about Charlie, Reyes and Beep were cool. And then it ends in a cliffhanger, as per usual, leaving you desperate for the next. Not my favorite entry, but certainly essential to this hilarious and sometimes steamy series.

As always, Ms Jones delivers a humdinger of a book!! All the cast is there - Charley, Reyes, Ubie, Cookie....
Another hit! My only request is to write #13 faster!!!

I have been in love with Charley, Reyes, Cookie and all the amazing characters in this series since picking up First Grave on the Right. Twelfth Grave does not disappoint. I love Charley's snark, Reye's hotness, Cookie's innocence, I could go on about every character in these novels. There are Oh crap moments, thank goodness moments and it's about time moments in Twelfth Grave. I laughed, cried, cringed and applauded. The only disappointment is it ended way too soon. Totally recommend Twelfth Grave and the rest of this series!! Darynda Jones knows how to grab you and pull you into her stories, she is a masterful storyteller.

I received this ARC for an honest review. This is NOT a stand alone series. You must read this series from book 1. Trust me, you will not be disappointed! Darynda starts book 12 right where 11 ends. OMG! I just love this series. Charley's snarky remarks and Reyes' intensity makes a wonderful read. I devoured this book. It is full of twist and turns. I found myself yelling "no way" The story made my heart hurt for Charley. Darynda answered some questions from book 11, but gave us many more for book 13. I am counting down the days until book 13! She keeps me wanting more!
