Close Contact by Lori Foster is a good fit for readers looking for a romance novel with a focus on personal growth, trust, and overcoming challenges in a relationship.

Not a super memorable story, but a fun one about a woman with emotional commitment issues and a guy ready for something more than just casual flings.

Three stars.

Love everything about Lori Foster. She always delivers. MMA fighters are my new favorite genre. Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book.

I really enjoy these stories by Ms. Foster, about MMA fighters turned bodyguards. This story follows Miles “The Legend” Dartman and Maxi. Maxi and Miles have a one night (well two one nights) stand but she disappears on him and he decides to move on (well attempt to). Very early into the story we find Maxi waking up outside her home after being drugged. She contacts the agency Miles works for in desperation. Miles gets dragged out of bed early in the morning and finds her in Sahara’s office. Maxi has moved into her grandmother’s farm, and inherited her numerous cats [as in greater than twenty]. She has had a rough life, and her family does not treat her right. Miles was extremely angry at how Maxi disappears on him and I thought he held onto that a little long, but that didn’t detract from my enjoyment of the story.

I definitely was surprised when the culprit was revealed in the story. It was almost the end before I narrowed it down to one guess. One of my favorite parts of this book was the side characters, including all of our favorite fighters from the MMA series as well as Justice and Leese. What I enjoyed about them was how they show Maxi what a real family is, blood or no blood. As someone with a close family, I loved how they showed Maxi what that truly means.

I can’t wait to read the next story, as it appears we may learn more about Sahara and her brother! Great addition to the series

This is another winner from Lori Foster. Book 3 of her Body Armor series is about Miles and Maxi’s relationship. They had a short fling then Maxi ended it suddenly. They have not talked to each other since, until Maxi starts to have some weird things happening at her new house she inherited. She enlists the help of Miles to protect her and from there the romance blossoms! The characters are very relatable and you can’t put this book down until you are done. This would be perfect for a winter night read. I received an ARC in return for an honest review.

This is the 3rd book in this series and although it might be best to read them in order, it is possible to read as a stand alone and not be lost. Mystery, romance and some humor are all present and will keep you turning pages to see how this story ends. Ms. Foster does an outstanding job of developing her characters and stories and this book doesn't disappoint! I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.

I submitted my review here already! Why are you not recording them. Anyways this was a great book. Then again anything Lori Foster writes is.

From the very first page I hated the female main character. She made stupid decisions and then the male main character came in and was a total asshole. Unable to root for either of the main characters, I gave up on the book.

Another fantastic book by the amazing Lori Foster. Weird things have been happening around the farm Maxi Nevar inherited from her grandmother. When Maxi wakes up outside away from the house and not knowing or remembering anything from the previous night, she realizes she needs help in the form of Miles Dartman, the HOT former MMA fighter and now bodyguard. Miles hasn't been able to forget the three explosive nights he shared with Maxi before she disappeared. Miles is shocked to see Maxi but knows he will do anything to protect her and find out who is behind the strange happenings on her farm. Maxi and Miles' chemistry is scorching hot. Will Maxi and Miles put their hearts on the line and reveal their feelings for each other? Can Miles find who has been terrorizing Maxi before things turn deadly? Close Contact is suspenseful and keeps the reader guessing until the end. Love the Body Armor series. Great to see the characters from the other Body Armor books interacting with Miles and Maxi. Close Contact is an amazing story with great characters and a fantastic story line. Close Contact is a MUST READ! I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Lori Foster's Close Contact is like savoring that piece of chocolate you've been craving. Delicious!

I'm so loving this series, the third book in the Body Armor series Close Contact is about ex-MMA fighter Miles Dartman. Talk about smexy hot! There is no resisting a man when he's on a mission of the heart. Maxi is sweet, vulnerable, and she needs a bodyguard.

Maxi she had a one night stand (or so she thinks) with Miles and takes off before he wakes. Maxi has baggage and didn't want to involve Miles, even though she has feelings for him. Waking up without knowing what happened, she shows up at Body Armor and hires Miles as her bodyguard. Who's after Maxi, and why? Secrets, yummy MMA fighters, action, romance at its best.

What follows is a joy ride only Ms. Foster can take you on.

Oh. My. Goodness. I was hooked on this story from the very beginning and didn't want to stop reading. There were so many things that I loved in this book - the characters, the suspense (and not being able to quickly suss out who the bad guy was), the romance, the camaraderie of the employees of Body Armor security agency, family issues (who doesn't have them) and so much more. I can't wait for the next book, which will be Sahara and Brand's story. You should definitely read this book!

HOLY COW, what an awesome book! I started it in the morning and just could not put it down until I finished it. Tense and sizzling and fun. You need to read this book to find out just who done it. Thanks Lori!

I received a complimentary copy for my honest opinion. Miles Dartman was forced to give up MMA so a switch to Body Armor made sense. When in walks the one woman who walked away from him. Maxi Nevar sought out Miles to hire him to protect her from strange incidents happening at the farm she inherited from her Grandmother.

Maxi knew when she woke up outside by the pond that it was time to hire protection. With Miles help he is determined to get to the bottom of this. Now to convince Maxi that he is what she needs at the end of the day. More please!!

Great sexy romance, wonderful mystery plot and a touch of humor make this a good book. I really like the hot romance and mystery, but the angst and martyr and repetitiousness just kinda killed the buzz of a great romantic-suspense lite plot.

Lori Foster is one of those authors I cannot get enough of. I fell in love with her writing starting with the Ultimate Series. This next installment in the Body Armor Series, Close Contact, is the third spin-off from that much beloved series. In this book we meet Miles Dartman, a former fighter, who has become a bodyguard. For his case we meet Maxi Nevar. Maxi has lost many of her dearly beloved all in a very short time. Maxi and Miles share a night of passion that they each find difficult to walk away from. She needs a bodyguard to protect her from strange things going on at her grandmothers house she just moved into and Miles is the only person she can trust. Even though there is animosity from Maxi running out on Miles after their one night of passion he agrees to protect her. There is so much suspense and intrigue within the pages of this book. Like the previous Body Armor books, just when you think you know who is up to all the chaos you turn out to be wrong. It is an amazing story just like all the previous titles I’ve read of Lori’s! Five stars for sure!

I love the body armor series. These MMA fighters might be big muscular guys bit they are such teddy bears.
I love how she can make one of the guys you hated in an earlier book be a guy in a later book be one that you swoon over.
Miles meets Maxi and they hit it off, then she disappears. The next thing he knows she is back because she needs a body guard. would she have returned if she didn't?

I highly recommend this title it is entertaining and a great read. I recommend the whole series.

Thank you Netgalley and Harlequin for allowing me to read this title for an honest review

Lori Foster is an author that I’ve heard great things about but I’ve never gotten around to reading, and I’m very glad that I picked up Close Contact, book three in her Body Armor series. Easily read as a standalone novel, Close Contact follows Maxi Nevar’s turbulent life after she inherits her grandmother’s secluded farm and multitude of farm cats. Soon after moving in and taking over where her loving grandmother left off with the neglected farmhouse and surrounding acreage, Maxi is the target of strange happenings on the farm–and she can’t shake the feeling that someone has been inside her new home multiple times. But when she wakes up on hard ground on the far side of her pond after clearly being drugged, she’s had enough and she seeks out help from the Body Armor Agency–and more importantly help from ex-MMA-fighter-turned-bodyguard Miles Dartman. Even though Maxi and Miles only saw each other three times before Maxi disappeared from Miles’ life a few months earlier, neither one has forgotten about the other.

When Miles is hired by Maxi, they return to her farm and immediately get to work making security enhancements to her property, and so many people come out of the proverbial woodwork. Both Maxi and Miles learn so much about each other’s lives that they never had a chance to learn before, and that initial attraction is still there burning hot between them. Miles is still the same trustworthy, fun-loving, nice guy with a dangerous edge, while Maxi has gone from a high-end, put together personal shopper to a down-home country farm girl seemingly overnight–but it suits her and she’s content. While Maxi tries to keep Miles at arms distance emotionally, she has no problem getting physically closer to him again. But will it be enough for either of them and can either one of them fight their feelings very long?

Close Contact has an entertaining mystery surrounding who is targeting Maxi, trying to force her to sell her farm. But there’s also questions about why Miles quit MMA, which is something even the other fighters don’t know, and why Maxi doesn’t interact with her brother or sister. The unanswered questions brought up in the beginning of the book are slowly revealed to the characters, and I really enjoyed discovering the answers. I really loved how strong Maxi stayed throughout all of the ordeals, as well as how Miles never strayed from her side and protected her at all costs.

I give Close Contact a 4.5 out of 5. The suspense throughout the book builds and several suspects emerge, and while the culprit isn’t entirely unguessable, it’s still enjoyable and thrilling as the danger mounts and the crazed person zeroes in on our heroes. Maxi and Miles’ burgeoning romance is rekindled in a will-it-be-more-than physical kind of way, and I really loved Miles as a character. While Maxi was likable, I wished she would just say what she really wants more often. The other bodyguards and their wives, as well as their boss Sahara were welcome side characters, and they brought a nice variety and added action to the book. I really look forward to reading the next book, which features Sahara and another fighter Brand.
