I just loved this book. The banter between Emma and Jasper as they get to know each other was just delightful. The feature that is so appealing about this and other Whisper Creek Novels is that the characters are so likeable and good natured. I like to think they would be my friends. I also appreciated that although the subject matter was adult, I didn't have to skip through excessive graphic sex. It wasn't allowed to detract from the sweetness of the love story. Add 'Taking A Chance' to your Carefree, MT visits, you'll love it!

OMG!! I love Whisper Creek and all its residents! Jasper and Emma's story did not disappoint and is so much FUN! I was LOLing from the first line. Jasper and Emma's story is heartfelt with a little touch of sadness at times BUT mostly fun! Emma is a strong woman that just needs someone to believe in her and she finds that someone in Jasper. A great romance not to be missed!!

I did not realize this was part of a much longer series. I will certainly go back and read the others after reading this wonderful story set in the beautiful state of Montana. It read fine as a stand alone but I think reading the others would definitely add to it.
Emma and Jasper are just perfect for each other! I really love them together!
Emma had no intentions of staying in Montana when she takes the temporary job there. She likes living in Florida.
She certainly did not plan on meeting Jasper while she was there. He was her game changer. He is so charming and fun.
Very nicely written story that flows so well and has so much heart. I looked forward to turning each and every page.

I received an ARC of this book from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

Story about a young woman from Florida who goes to Montana to sub for the director of a nursing home. Here she meets Jasper, a coffee shop owner, and his dad lives at said nursing home. Despite tragedies that neither one can forget, the chemistry between them develops into something more. Sweet, clean contemporary romance!

Taking a Chance, is a feel good romance novel. In the beginning, Jasper leaves me feeling shameful. The way that he volunteers and visits his father in the nursing home is awesome. Then later on in the book he shows us just how human he is by the way that he handles things with Emma. It's kinda a stretch to call this book part of the Whisper Creek series, but it was fun to catch up with some of the past characters and new.

A beautiful, feel good romance about an over-achieving, brilliant woman who has yet to measure up to her parents' unreachable expectations. He had it all, but didn’t realize it until it was too late. They both find themselves in Montana in the shadow of majestic mountains and a now infamous ranch of studly men.

This is my 4 or 5th read by Ms. McGinnis and I’ve yet to be disappointed.

I received an ARC of this book, via NetGalley, in exchange for a fair and honest review.

When Emma Winthrop is sent to Whisper Creek to take over momentarily at Shady Acres nursing home she is certain she has been sent to a whole other world, it's peaceful, charming, and so unlike the bustling city life she is use to. Then she meets a certain sexy barista that instantly starts to stir up the butterflies in her stomach, he is charming, funny... and very easy on the eyes. But getting involved with him seems silly since her stay in town is temporary...

The moment Jasper Stone's eyes land on the beauty sent to run Shady Acres he can't help but fall a little for her, she is unlike any other woman he has ever met, and the sparks swirling around between them tells him there is something there worth exploring. But her stay in Whisper Creek is short term, so he must decide if that "something" between them is worth the risk to his heart...

Taking A Chance is a touching, light-hearted, literary treasure! It has been a while since my last visit to the Whisper Creek series, but mere minutes into this read I found myself making myself right at home all over again, oh how I missed these wonderful characters! I thoroughly enjoyed this new addition the series, it warmed my heart, made me laugh, and left me blushing more than a few times! The story line was engaging and held my interest throughout, and the characters were perfectly crafted... you really can't go wrong with this one, it is one of my absolute favorites from Ms. McGinnis to date! Highly recommend this one, these small town folks are sure to charm their way into your heart!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this title.

This was a fun romantic read. I enjoyed the characters, Jasper and Emma. Jasper has been punishing himself for a mistake for years and feels that he doesn't deserve to find someone to love. Emma is trying to move up in the corporate world and forget her past mistakes and heartache. Neither ever imagine finding love until they find each other. Fun read.

I love Maggie and have been waiting for this book for ages. However the only characters i truly loved were those already established. I don't care for the new heroine at all.

That didnt take from my enjoyment of the story and the fact that as with most whisper creek novels the story leaves you wishing you were able to viait for yourself.

The romance developing between Emma & Jasper is such a sweet thing to watch unfold. Emma is a career driven woman in her mid 30s with a "perfect" older sister that could do no wrong & parents that don't understand her (fortunately she has a "normal" younger sister). She gets sent from FL to Carefree home of Whisper Creek Ranch & all of our favorite characters from previous stories to run a nursing home (Shady Acres) while the woman that was doing it has surgery. This is not in Emma's plans to move up the corporate ladder.
Jasper has been in Carefree for a few years & believes he doesn't deserve a happy ever after because of what happened in his "previous" life. His dad is at Shady Acres, therefore Jasper is there a lot. He's there even more after running into Emma.
Watching the sparks jump off the pages is incredible. The story is so sweet & fun with enough turmoil thrown in to keep it interesting. I look forward to reading more Whisper Creek novels!

Received an ARC for my fair review for netgalley. This is a continuation in the Whisper Creek series, but you can read it as a stand a lone. We meet Emma who goes to Montana and takes a temporary position, with the intention of returning home. However, she meet Jasper, they both have past hurts, which is a little hard on them but they are good together.

A highly amusing romp in a nursing home with the son of one of the residents keeping things lively, while helping a temporary head of the home fine her way and her heart.

This was a sweet book about a nursing-home administrator sent on temporary assignment from her HQ in Florida up to Carefree, Montana. There she meets the extremely charming Jasper Stone who seems to spend all his time at the nursing home visiting his dad and entertaining the old folks there. He’s attracted to her and tries to show her the ropes at her new job and new town.

She falls for him and the town. This seems to be the ideal nursing home that you wished your relatives could spend their last years at and you’ll wish that someone like Jasper could come in and organize wheelchair dodgeball with balloons filled with shipping cream (though I’m not sure how he gets the whipped cream in the balloons.)

This was my first romance in McGinnis’s Whisper Creek series, but I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for the next one.

I was given a free ARC of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I sure wish I'd come across this series prior to this latest story...I immediately fell in love with the entire cast of characters and with Whisper Creek. I do plan to rectify this oversight ASAP and go backwards and start at the beginning to immerse myself in everyone's backstory.

What caught my attention early on was the wickedly smart dialogue and off the charts banter that hit the perfect mixture of hilarity and dry wit. The story was fast paced, moving and turning quickly, keeping me engaged from the beginning. The premise of the backdrop of a retirement home as the stage for Jasper and Emma's story was a fresh one that I haven't seen used...very genius bringing in the residents, each playing their own part in the couple's story.

Right out of the gate, Jasper jumped off the pages with his boyish exuberance and his seemingly joy for life...the author was remarkable in pulling the reader into his pain masked by his generous and giving personality that drew people to him. With her own painful past, Emma covered hers with over the top achievements in both her personal and business lives. The by play between the two was charming and heartwarming...especially when you include the kittens.

I hope this isn't the last of the Whisper Creek series, I'd definitely like to return for another visit.

This ARC book was complimentary, provided by the Publisher and NetGalley. I am voluntarily providing my honest review.

Emma comes to the town of Whisper Creek to work at a nursing home for a three month assignment. She is usually all work and no play, but that is until Jasper, one of the resident's son, shows her there is more to life.
This was a great read. It is part of the Whisper Creek series, but can be read as a standalone. I have read many books by this author and look forward to reading even more.
