Tough alpha male meets hard nosed female ... While I might have kicked Royce where it hurts for some of his behaviour, Pandora is equally as tough and their give and take made the book a fun read. I particularly liked that she didn't give in to him immediately.
3.5 stars
I can't believe I'm going to say this about a Alexa Riley book. But here it goes.... This book took me a little bit to get into. And to get into the main characters... Mostly Pandora. I had a hard time warming up to her character. And Royce was ok. But I wanted the chase of him going after Pandora right from the beginning.
This book was kinda slow for me. And the whole boxing thing was a little huh moment for me. I'm so use to the guy chasing the girl and all the sexy time between them that it kind of threw me there for a minute.
There is sex in this book. And yes... it's pretty hot. But... there wasn't a lot of it. The first sex scene isn't until the 61% mark! (Shocking I know!!!) once they finally get together it was pretty explosive! Royce was a very powerful lover!
Overall this was an ok read for me. And I can't wait to read more by these 2 authors!
Iam a huge Alexa Riley fan so I dived into Hold Tight as soon as I could and I loved it so much. I cant wait to get my hands on there next book !!!
I’m not sure how to review. The story was short, straightforward, and fast. When I finished reading, I was left with a feeling of: that’s it? That was fast!
Royce (a.k.a. “Rolly”) comes from money and he attended an expensive private school and acquired two best friends there, Ezra and Donovan. When they got out of college they founded a consulting company and lived in a studio apartment that only had two mattresses on the floor. It’s not explained what they consult on, but I later figured it had to be with improving corporate efficiency or something similar.
Pandora is head of the security department of Osborne Corp. that her cousin Henry runs. Again, it’s not explained what this company does, only that Pandora has a bunch of incompetent employees, she inherited the post from her father and she works an eighty-hour workweek. She has a twin sister Penelope who seems to be a sweetheart and a best friend called Delilah, partner in bar hopping.
When Rolly and Pandora meet, Rolly fell instantly in love and resolved to make her his forever, Pandora kept running scared from him for a while. She was sassy, he was cocky. She was fiercely independent and he let her be herself and accepted her independence. As characters, they were entertaining, the little I got to enjoy.
The book is about the persecution and seduction of Pandora, then gets cheesy when it happens, the end. I get the feeling there are books before this one where the family business is explained but in this book it was unknown. Since this is my first book by these authors, I don’t have a lot to say, because I feel like I couldn’t get my teeth on a story. It felt more like an easy breezy flirty novella.
After I read the book, I checked out the authors and found in fact that they like to write short books, full of sassy women, smutty sex scenes and cheesy love. So I’d say this was an excellent example of their craft.
DNF at 27%. Normally the pace of Riley’s books is pretty fast—and I’m not just talking about insta-love. This one, however, didn't hold my attention at all.
This book had you all over the place at times it was flat and the writing made me have to go back over parts thinking I missed something, and then it would pick up and get you pulled in. I just wish more of it was edited to be smoother. One kiss and barely talking, yet he tells her she will be his forever? What? This is a current times book, not epic romance. Who says that? Who? No one. That's who. The point of view changed multiple times and each view point was written in broken parts and thoughts. Either write in 1st person or write in 3rd, but keep it smooth when you do it. While hard to follow at times, I do think that our customers will enjoy her books.
Short, sweet and sexy, made me want to pick up the rest of the series.
ARC - I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest!
As soon as Royce saw Pandora, he knew that he must have her.
Pandora, on the other hand, had a different opinion about that.
Loved the storytelling. A lot of Romance.
Alexa Riley never disappoints with their writing. This Novella was Sweet, Wonderful and Amazing. I loved reading Pandora and Royce beautiful love story.
I Highly Recommend all the Readers to Read this amazing story and don't miss Alexa Riley beautiful writing.
This is the second story in the For You novella series, and stars the sister of the heroine Penelope from Stay Close. Pandora Justice is a very hard working no nonsense woman, a petite firecracker who works in the security division of the family business, Osbourne Corp. Royce Davenport has been hired as a consultant to update their department, and he wants Pandora from the moment he meets her. Pandora is having none of it, at first. But Royce can be very persuasive....
If you've read this author duo before, you know what to expect - a protective alpha male hero who can be a little over the top but is totally dedicated to his woman. That's Royce in a nutshell, and he has an interesting secret that changes Pandora's opinion of him for the better. The sex scenes are hot and steamy, and it's an insta-lust/insta-love story complete with knocked up epilogue. These men like their women feisty but maternal and babies are part and parcel of their HEA. It's a quick, fun, sexy read. 3.5 stars.

I’ve been a long time reader of Alexa Riley and this book was exactly what I needed after my last read. Royce has his eyes on Pandora and will stop at nothing to make her his at any cost. At first I wasn’t like Pandora but as the story progresses we get to see another side of her and I ended up loving her character. Royce was your typical Alexa Riley male and Pandora was able to hold her own as well. I enjoyed catching up with her sister Penelope and Ivan. All fans of Alexa Riley should enjoy this story as they give you everything they are known for in their stories.
Now that's what I'm talking about, AR! With Hold Tight, you not only give us a strong alpha but you give us a strong and feisty heroine. As is always consistent with AR blissful escapes, we get the over the top cheesiness, sweetness and alpha tendencies. Oh and let's not forget the virgin!
Pandora has always been viewed as the strong twin. The one who is business savvy and doesn't let anyone tell her what to do. So it's no surprise that she's in the leadership role that she is in now. In her professional life she's bossy but the work and effort she puts in far surpasses those of her peers. However, she knows that they could be more efficient so her cousin and business colleague, Henry, hires a consultant. Little did Pandora know what she was getting into.
From the moment Royce laid eyes on Pandora, he knew she was the one. The problem is, she's feisty and stubborn and most defiantly avoiding him. Which only urges him on more. What I like about Royce so much is that he can be strong and all alpha like but he knew exactly what Pandora needed in order to come to terms with her emotions. So while he may want to be in control, he allows her the control that she needs and he highly respects her for it. Their banter together was just so much fun. I really enjoyed these two. And let's not forget how hot he is as a fighter. Whew.
Hold Tight is an enjoyable little escape that will draw you in with a cocky and sexy hero and a feisty and beautiful heroine. Be prepared to laugh. Be prepared to swoon. And certain be prepared for the full blown steaminess that is coming your way!
Final Score - 5 Stars!
Alexa Riley has done it again! Hard headed business woman + alpha hero = SMUTTY GOODNESS
Pandora and Royce ... gah! I loved them SO much! This story was so much fun read!! I still can't get over the names of the twins - genius! Love them. The secondary characters as usual add their own brand of awesomeness, esp. Penelope and her sexy Russian *swoon.
A fun, super sexy, quick read that is completely enjoyable. Insta-love at it's finest - perfect for an lazy Saturday afternoon read. Great story and characters, I definitely a recommended this as a #MustRead.
For a novella, I found this extremely hard to get into. Which is surprising because I normally fly through Riley's books. I did really like the ending of the book. It made the struggle of the beginning worth the read.
I did receive an advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.
I enjoyed this one more than the first book.It was fast paced and super hot.
”You were meant to be in my arms. And the sooner you let yourself be okay with that, the better.”
Pandora is a hard working woman who is now the head of security of her fathers company. All Pandora seems to do is work and be serious. But when Royce who is a consultant starts working there too...she having a hard time with her feelings. When he sees Pandora and then shakes her hands he wondered if she felt what he felt. His attraction to her makes him want to get close with her and he hasn't felt the need for that closeness ever.
Hold Tight by Alexa Riley is exactly what you expect from Alexa Riley! Pandora takes after her parents and runs security for her cousin Henry's company, the Osborne Corporation. Her sister Penelope is now happily married and popping out babies. But Pandora is married to her work. Until Royce.
Royce is a consultant for the Osborne Co. He knows Pandora is his one and only the moment he meets her. But, like her mom, she is a skittish kitten that Royce must tame first. He is totally up for the challenge!
The AR recipe in full force: virgin, claiming, instant love, fast marriage, babies. If it ain't broke... :)

It's sister Pandora's turn in pure Alexa Riley style..insta-everything. Riley was all kinds of yummy. Now, what did she do to scare cousin Henry?
For me, curling up with one of Alexa Riley’s steamy, instalove novellas is one of the ways I get away from it all. It’s pure escapism reading, and I’ll be honest, I can use that once in a while. Over-the-top obsessed all alpha male doing whatever it takes—and I do mean whatever—to get the (virgin) girl of his dreams? Yes please! This talented author duo was made to write this genre. I suppose my inner feminist should be screaming in protest at this repeated choice of reading material, but she’s silent. It’s a fantasy, and it’s totally okay to lose yourself in the heat of the moment with a bit of fictional fun.
Romantic, sweet and seriously hot, Hold Tight featured a strong heroine and an even stronger hero. I loved Pandora and Royce together. I loved how she didn’t just capitulate to him and gave him a run for his money—albeit a short run. This was a quick ready, full of sexy tension and lots of fight. I devoured it, and I enjoyed every single minute of it. Hold Tight by Alexa Riley gets 4.5 smooches from me!
”You were meant to be in my arms. And the sooner you let yourself be okay with that, the better.”
Whenever Alexa Riley comes out with a new book, my excitement hits ten fold! I crave her Alpha males, Insta love stories like no other. Hold Tight is the second book in the For You series, but can be read as a stand-alone. This is Royce and Pandora's story.
From the moment Royce saw Pandora, he knew she was the one for him.. But Pandora isn't to be swayed by this cocky alpha male. He has to show her, that what they have is real.
The ending was superb, that had me grinning from ear to ear. Hold Tight was your typical AR fashion, that all woman swoon over. It's delicious, and delectable. A hot alpha male who knows just how to get you're panties in a twist.
#AMUSTREAD
Alexa Riley's formula should be well-known by now: instalove, a hero who goes alpha the moment he sees his significant half, decides he wants her and does everything to claim her as his territory. Be prepared for over-dramatic moments interspersed with sex that can be scorching, though you might question the validity of the connection between the protagonists because of this.
'Hold Tight' is Pandora's book - something I've looked forward to for a while - but its sheer brevity (this tops out at a mere 64 pages) magnifies the faults I find with Riley's books. Had it been a longer, more drawn-out version, I think I would have liked and rated the story a lot higher with greater character depth and development. Still, Riley delivered a safe(ish) read, with a guaranteed HEA, so it could be a balm for readers discouraged and cynical about their romance reads.
