A really well done informative book for young readers. The illustrations were useful and the way the information was organized was easy to digest and enjoyable to read. Definitely a great book for young science and nature enthusiasts!
A book with fantastic illustrations to enjoy together as a family, to learn and teach with the little ones about the life and the adaptive intelligence expressed by these magnificent animals, admired for many cultures. Maybe we will be the last generation to be lucky to enjoy these animals in the wild. Excellent material for educators and homeschooling.
The Eagle: Animals in the Wild is a short, cute book to introduce kids to one of the most majestic of the great raptors- the eagle. Full of beautiful illustrations and easy to read language, it covers general aspects of life such as diet, territory, courtship, and nesting. At the end are sections listing other raptors of note, interesting facts, and important vocabulary. My cubs enjoyed this book. My only qualm is the generic name ‘eagle’ is used, when the raptor depicted in the book is specifically the golden eagle. I'm really not sure why that bothers me so, but it does…
A great book for teaching about golden eagles, and perfect for the child interested in nature and wildlife.
***Many thanks to Netgalley and Clavis Publishing for providing an egalley in exchange for a fair and honest review.
Brought me back to the days I taught kindergarten. We taught the seven continents by teaching the kids about iconic wildlife in each. The eagle was one of the animals featured for North America.
This is a wonderful non-fiction book for young children (8 to 10) to learn about eagles. The book basically uses the Golden Eagle and takes the reader through their life. From their birth, what they eat, what they do, family life, what they look like, predators etc. you learn facts, see little anecdotes and view visually pleasing detailed illustrations. This is a fun little book to introduce young readers to wildlife and encourage them to find out more about eagles and other animals. The back of the book includes brief facts as well as a glossary of terms used in the book. There are also several other eagles shown that could lead the reader into further investigation. I was disappointed that the Bald Eagle was not mentioned. This is a great book for school libraries!
Do you know where eagles live? In this picture book, I learned so much about eagles I didn't even know. As I read this, I found out what eagles eat. I learned who the eagle has for enemies. Can you guess? Do you know what eagles do during the day? The book include a chart featuring ten birds of prey, a glossary and much more.
The illustrations are excellent. The book has accurate information. It's a great book for children ages 5 and up. I must admit I learned some facts about eagles that I didn't know. It's a book that will hold your attention.
Engaging, finely-illustrated, fact-filled book about eagles for young children. Their territorial needs as well as how they live, hunt and mate are explained. A short glossary appears in the back of book, featuring words used on previous pages. Illustrations of the eagle's close relatives are also shown. Five stars.
I really enjoyed this book, it is a great non-fiction book for children to learn more about the natural world, and in this case, the Eagle. There are fun facts, great images and good information for anyone wanting to learn more about these magnificent birds. The family of Eagles chart (or more accurately Birds of Prey chart) at the back is also a nice touch.
Interesting read...lots of good facts... grade school kids who are interested in eagles will like this book. Full of info and I liked the illustrations. Also, I really appreciated the lists of eagles around the world at the end! I had no idea there were so many!
An excellent account of one of the most fascinating creatures.
The Eagle. Animals in the Wild by Renne Rahir. Clavis Publishing. 5 Stars. This a pretty detailed nonfiction book with thoughtful drawings that often have a splash of color in them, with some fully in color. Especially appreciated are the depictions of hunting eagles that seem a bit softened so as not to appear scary. The older child will find this interesting and parents educational, particularly if they already enjoy looking at birds of any kind. Highly recommend. Thanks to NetGalley and Clavis Publishing for providing this ebook for review.
A great non-fiction book for grade 3 and up to learn about eagles. Lots of written information highlighted by some beautiful drawings. Would be very informative for a child working on a science project. I would not really describe it as a picture book though as there limited pictures in it.
